1/15: Tea Party Movement Cannot Be Ignored

The Stanford Daily Editorial Board says “Tea Party Movement Cannot Be Ignored”:

Early next month, Sarah Palin will be the keynote speaker at a political convention in Nashville, Tennessee. But rather than addressing the Republican National Committee or the mainstream Conservative Political Action Conference, whose invitation she rejected, Palin will be headlining the first annual National Tea Party Convention.

1/14: Tea Party Groups Set Sights on 2010 Races

The Morning Call (Allentown, PA) reports that various 9.12 Tea Party activist groups are moving forward through the grassroots movement: And making a difference.

Conservative activists, locally and nationally, are hoping to build on the momentum of the tea party protests that caught fire during the summer’s health care reform debate in time to influence the 2010 midterm elections.

And as they did last year, when the term ”tea party” gained a new meaning in the national political vocabulary, each is going about the task differently.

12/16: WSJ/NBC News Poll: Tea Party Tops Democrats and Republicans

The loosely organized group made of up mostly conservative activists and independent voters that’s come to be known as the Tea Party movement currently boasts higher favorability ratings than either the Democratic or Republican Parties, according to the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll coming out later today.

12/10: Why Leaderless Tea Parties Are Beating the GOP

Rasmussen reports the Tea Party Movement, which percolated only months ago, is beating the Grand Old Party.

That’s amazing — and good — news. A nascent grassroots movement is more popular than a long-established political party.

Republican Party leaders should be embarrassed.

11/30: ‘9/12 Project’ Group in Illinois Valley Gaining Members

A national movement started by conservative commentator Glenn Beck is picking up steam in Illinois Valley, as the Cave Junction Chapter of the 9/12 Project continues to grow.

The 9/12 Project has been promoted widely by Beck, an increasingly popular Fox News television personality. It is designed to bring the nation back to the same sense of unity it had on Sept. 12, 2001, the day after the infamous terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

11/27: Tax Revolt Tea Party Planned

Local residents plan to rally Saturday to protest rising and new taxes in these tough and uncertain economic times.

The Tea Party with its obvious reference to American colonists opposing a British tax on tea has become the symbol of a national tax revolt movement. Somers’ version will feature regular citizens and elected officials talking about how government is spending taxpayer money.

11/24: Letter on 9/11 Trials from NYPD Superior Officers Association Retired

Dear  912 Members:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the planned rally against Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to try the 9/11 terrorists in Federal Court here in New York City. It is greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, since NYPD/FDNY active and retired members have lost many friends and relatives on 9/11, the position of the NYPD Superior Officers Association Retired and the LI Association of Retired NYC Firefighters is as follows:

1.   Since Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSH) already confessed to the murder and beheading of Wall Street
Journalist Daniel Pearl in Karachi, Pakistan (see below), and was arrested in Pakistan before being
taken to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba,  we see no reason why this confessed murderer should be transferred
to New York City to be tried in federal court for a heinous war crime he already confessed to.

2.   By bringing KSH and the other al Qaeda war criminals to New York City for trial with all the protections
of the U.S. Constitution, this would not only set a perverse legal precedent, but will send a message to
al Qaeda terrorists around the world that if you kill American civilians or troops, the United States
government will provide you with the same legal protections as if you were a U.S. citizen.

3.   Such a dangerous and foolish policy is not only contrary to civil society, but undermines the U.S.
Constitution and foundation of our free society.

Therefore, if you agree that KSH and his terrorists cohorts should be tried by a Military Tribunal and not
allowed to step a foot into the country they hate, please not only join us at the rally planned by the
“Young Americans for Freedom” in New York City, but call or write your local members of Congress
and U.S Senators to immediately introduce the necessary federal legislation to reverse Mr. Holder’s
unprecedented decision.
