12/15: FCC Official Says He’s Not Carrying Out ‘Secret Plot Funded by George Soros to Get Rid of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck’
Mark Lloyd, the chief diversity officer and associate counsel at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), says he is not carrying out a “secret plot funded by George Soros” aimed at getting rid of conservative talk-show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.
Lloyd, the keynote speaker at a Monday forum sponsored by the Media Access Project (MAP), also said that there was a “right-wing smear campaign” against him.
12/15: Scrappleface: Obama Admits Infidelity to Constitution, Takes Hiatus
News fairly unbalanced. We report. You decipher.
In a brief post on the White House blog, President Obama on Wednesday confessed he had been unfaithful to the U.S. Constitution “in various ways, on many occasions” and would take a hiatus from his high-profile position in order to “spend time healing my relationship with the Founding Fathers.”
Obama’s announcement came just days after golf pro Tiger Woods made a similar statement. However, the White House denied any connection between the two hiatuses.
12/14: FCC Chief Diversity Officer Rejects ‘Communist’ Label
Federal Communications Commission Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd broke his silence Monday on conservative criticism of his past writings, saying he’s tired of the death threats and being labeled “a communist.”
“I’m speaking up for myself,” Lloyd told reporters after a morning speech on “Social Media, Net Neutrality and the Future of Journalism” sponsored by Media Access Project, a media-focused advocacy group.

12/8: Obama Health ‘Czar’ Worked at Legally Troubled Health Firms
Nancy-Ann DeParle, one of President Obama’s chief advocates for the health care reform bill wending its way through Congress, earned more than $6.6 million as a paid director for health care firms, some of which were targeted in government investigations or whistleblower lawsuits on suspicions of billing fraud and other legal problems.
12/2: Friday Is Still White House ‘Trash Day’
President Barack Obama entered the White House promising a new era of openness in government, but when it comes to bad news, his administration often uses one of the oldest tricks in the public relations playbook: putting it out when the fewest people are likely to notice.
Former White House environmental adviser Van Jones’ resignation over controversial comments hit the trifecta of below-the-radar timing: The White House announced the departure overnight on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, when few journalists were on duty and few Americans awake, much less paying attention to the news.
11/4: Radicals on the Run?
Joesph Smith: How many more Maoists and Van Jones-style radicals are in the Obama administration? Some White House aides are concerned about the radicals in the House, and wonder if it’s not too late to show them the side door at midnight.
According to the American Spectator, recently-resigned senior advisor Susan Crawford “ran afoul” of senior economics advisor Larry Summers over the Net Neutrality rules that Crawford strongly supported. Apparently Summers only learned how radical the rules were when he started fielding questions from his contacts in the business community. It appears that Crawford’s radical ideas on government control of the internet, combined with her “blind-siding” Summers, were enough to have her shown the door, although the official White House stance is that she had to return to her tenured academic position. The Robert Gibbs public persona on the Obama White House may also conceal further rumblings over radicals:
11/2: New Anti-Limbaugh-Beck Group Tied to Ex-Obama ‘Czar’ Van Jones
A new left-wing organization created specifically to attack Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, Pat Buchanan, and Paul Brown has ties to ex-Obama green jobs czar Van Jones.
As NewsBusters reported Thursday, StopTheWitchHunt.org was formed to “call out” what it considers “mischaracterizations and hate speech” by the aforementioned quintet.
10/30: The Pay Czar Is Unconstitutional
Michael W. McConnell: Last week’s announcement that “Pay Czar” Kenneth Feinberg slashed compensation for executives at seven large financial firms by an average of 50% stunned Wall Street, stoked the fires of populist resentment, and troubled economists. Will this government-mandated pay cut drive the most talented professionals away from these companies, endangering their recovery? Does it augur further politicization of economic decisions?
Lost in the arguments over economics and political theory, however, is a more basic question: Was this action constitutional?
10/30: Valerie Jarrett: Lapping for Action
Who is Valerie Jarrett? It’s a question gaining increasing interest in the conservative blogosphere. And even some members of the mainstream media are starting to take a second look at this woman who has earned the sobriquet “Obama’s eminence gris.”
Indeed, in the Obama household, Valerie Jarrett is considered nothing less than a member of the family. Asked about his unique relationship with the shadowy Ms. Jarrett, Obama told the London Independent’s Robert Draper, “Well, Valerie is one of my oldest friends. Over time, I think our relationship evolved to the point where she’s like a sibling to me … I trust her completely.”
