3/7: Educate The Electorate!

Despite a FULL YEAR of debate, town halls and grass roots protesting, the Obama Administration is set to defy the will of the American people and ram Health Care Reform through Congress using shady deals and parliamentary gimmickry.

In Nancy-Ann DeParle’s latest email from the White House, titled “625″, 3/04/2010, she posts “We Can’t Wait! 625 is the latest digit in ‘Health Reform by the Numbers,’ an online campaign to spread the word about the need for health insurance reform. You can help raise awareness by sharing this email with your friends, family and online networks.” Her source for this statistic is The Wonk Room, ThinkProgress.org, UPDATE: 15,000 People Lost Health Insurance Per Day In 2009.
I did respond to her email by directing her to the February 2010, Bureau of Labor Statistics latest report, which provides the following, vetted statistic: 2,398 per HOUR – that is the number of people who have lost their jobs and remain unemployed since Obama took office. Currently, TWENTY-ONE MILLION (21,000,000) American Citizens are out of work.
The source for the White House report on “625 per hour…” is questionable. The article, written by Judy Feder, a clearly partisan supporter, uses flawed study reports to support your claims. The Kaiser Family Foundation study takes the truthful report of a reduction in new enrollments for private health insurance for a year (2.2 million) and extrapolates that into “people who lost their private insurance coverage,” into the generality, which is a misleading analysis of statistical data.
I prepared a letter-size poster to refute this latest misleading missive from the White House, and am delivering a copy to the 58 households in my neighborhood today. I know, we are a small community, and have little direct influence, yet, wasn’t the ocean formed one raindrop at a time?

If you want to understand the Left. Read Ayn Rand “Return of the Primitive.”
You got that exactly backwards. If you want to learn about the right, read Ayn Rand. Her motto must have been “every man for himself.” The motto of the left is something like “we’re all in this together.” If you want to learn more about the philosophy of the left, read the Bible.
jcs, The use of the Bible by liberal progressives(communist/ socialist) has been tryed before. And it failed the last time it was tryed. The Holy Bible is about and individuals personal relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ. And not about state control and the group collective. The liberal progressives do not believe in religious freedom. In fact liberal progressives don’t believe in anything they can not control without force. And religion is a persons individual freedom as outlined by our Constitution. And liberal progressives cann’t stand the Constitution because it restricts government.
Bryan, you claim to know the hearts of liberals, saying they do not believe in religion, religious freedom, they only want control over people’s lives or whatever else, and have no interest in helping the disadvantaged or unemployed. You’re wrong.
There are people in America who want to make this a country that cares for its own. I’m one of them. I’m doing okay actually. I’m taking care of my own, and am willing to support through tax dollars those who are struggling. This is America. We help each other out still, although we’re no longer of country of a few thousand people and may not know whom we are helping.
If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. [Matthew 19:21]
jcs, Because it’s not about giving. If it was about giving then how do the poor get in to Heaven ?,because they have nothing to give. It’s all about Faith. If you would acutely read the Bible, instead of getting quotas from some web-site, you would know this. And far as me knowing the hearts of liberal progressives. It takes one to know one. And I used to be one. And thats how I know that liberal progressives don’t care about the poor or disadvantaged. They want to keep them down. They love that power and control over the poor. The liberal pregressives would build a wall around the poor and then fill it with water,if the poor got in there way. That how much they care about the poor. And if you dissagree with liberal progressives, they hate you. And want you out of the way.
I’m a liberal and I don’t hate you. I don’t know you but I imagine you’re a good family man, kind to the people you meet, and sincere in what you believe is best for the country.
jcs, What are you talking about ?
If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. [Matthew 19:21]
Do you think Jesus was joking when he said that? Have I taken him out out of context? Did he really mean that governments should support the rich because otherwise you have socialism, which is sinful?
jcs, Please read the hole Bible. You are taking all of what Jesus said way out of contex. Matthew 19:25 and 19:26 will explain it better then I can. But please read all of the New Testament.
I think you’re saying you’ve read the bible. Good for you. But don’t get points for that, or further comprehension, any more than you do for going to church every Sunday. You get points for understanding Christ’s words and living by them. His words speak for themselves. If you want to say you’re generous to the poor, but expect our country to support the rich, you have some explaining to do. If you think governement programs that support the poor are sinful, and against the teachings of Christ, then I’d like to hear your reasoning. Not name calling but reasoning.
Its all about forcing insurance companies to accept pre existing condiitions…the other 2500 pages of the bill is smoke and mirrors…that will lead to premiums charged by the insurance companies to necessarily have to skyrocket which will force the public to demand government do something….that something will be the public option which everyone will have to flock to for financial reasons…This will lead to the insurance companies going out of business which will lead to a single payer health care system(Obamacare)……..just as planned.
First the Goverenment will most likely take over the insurance companies. Thats what I think they want to do.
“That’s what they think they want to do.” What does that mean? Are you saying they do or they don’t?
Bryan, I think you’re paranoid. The “government” isn’t “taking over” insurance companies. Your insurance company has raised your rates far in excess of inflation for years. The CBO says the proposed legislation will reduce the deficit and reduce premiums. But you’re sure the opposite is true? And it’s socialism?
You can’t educate idiot’s and this adminstration is full of them, starting at the top. This is not about health care reform, it is about “control of the people” and the economy, they could care less about the American people!
Yes Jerry, but don’t forget that it is mainly about the FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION of the UNITED
STATES of AMERICA.
Are you serious? America pays the highest rates for medical insurance in the world and ranks low among the lowest of industrialized countries in the quality of care (infant mortality and lifespan for example). Your insurance, if have it at all, is increasing 20% a year and your coverage is staying the same or getting worse. Please jerry, look at what is happening to you. To you. You’re being controlled all right, and your budget strained, not by the “government” but by insurance companies who raise your rates way beyond the rate of inflation to improve their profits.
Honestly jerry, do have insurance? I doubt it or you would know how much it’s taking out of your paycheck and you’d be wondering if there wasn’t a better way to do things for the people of this country.
jcs, what Government Office do you work in ?
I work for the FBI. I’m monitoring this website for anti-government sentiment. I’ll have the last laugh when you’re all put away in one of Glenn Beck’s FEMA concentration camp for unremorseful conservatives.
No the F.B.I. would not wast there time.
Idiots are everywhere. This site certainly confirms this. Remember there are sensible things that are imposed by the government. Example: To drive legally we must buy car insurance. Is that government take over? This opposition to healthcare is all scare tactics. What’s really scary is that insurance companies control access, ration care and raise rates and you are totally helpless to do anything about it. We have not even touched on the outrageous profits and unbelievable compensation of top execs.
What happens to you when you lose your insurance? Do you have any options under the current system?
