This is encouraging news, IF, and I emphasize “IF”, the Republican Party is returning to its conservative roots. If they are going to continue to be Democrat-lite, they are of no use to me, as a conservative. Gone are the days where I will vote for the “lesser of two evils”. “Go conservative or go home, the Republic demands it!”
I’m with you. Never again. The lesser of two evils is still evil. However, in light of todays announcement that the most notorius 9/11 terrorists will be tried in NY, the Dems will win the 2010 election despite what the polls indicate.
While the press will be focused on the events in the trials (especially anything that makes the Bush Admin. look bad); obama plans to grant amnesty to the illegals in exchange for their votes in 2010.
They win again.
Polls that focus only on the two major parties are not helpful. We want to find Patriots to send to Washington who will take the oath to protect & defend the Constitution and hold fast to it! We are looking for courageous men and women who are willing to step up and stand for the basic principles of limited government as outlined in the Constitution.
My first question to anyone who is looking for my vote is “Are you willing to work toward downsizing the government apparatus at all levels?” I firmly believe if the ENTIRE federal bureauacracy were to be cut in half, we would solve just about all of our problems. It’s that simple. However, in the last 100 years, no public servant has had the courage to even mention downsizing. To his credit, Ronald Reagan did say that, if elected, he would shut down the useless Dept of Education…but after he got into office, not even as president could he do it. He brought down Communism, but couldn’t even make a small dent in the federal bureauacracy.
Meanwhile, in the private sector, large corporations hire McKinsey or Accenture to come in and study their organizations to downsize for efficiency. I know, I was part of such a downsizing in one of our major corporations. McKinsey has a lot of expertise. If the federal gov’t were to hire an efficiency fdirm and them act upon their recommendations –even if it takes a couple of years — it would save the republic! The congress can’t do it themselves — they are proven masters of inefficiency and corruption, too.
It will take a courageous group of newcomers to Coingress, dedicated to limited government to slash the size of government. And we have to send a large enough group of them to the congress so they will keep each other honest and steadfast. Sending one or two Constitutionalists to congress would be like throwing the Christians to the lions — they will be devoured.
