I have spent most of the weekend examining HR 3926. It's nothing more then a communist takeover scheme of the health care industry in America. There are huge tax increases, and explosion of government regulations, complete with new fines, imprisonment, or both. It gives the Secretary of HHS broad and sweeping powers to control, implement, and yes, establish waiting lists, increase premiums - even ration care: See page26 item #1, and also page 1509 item 19-24. It's all in the bill. Rationing and the powers to execute it are all mentioned specifically in this bill, not to mention the implemention of FDA rule 519-F from 4/14/05. This is on page 1510, item # 7-C, giving the government power with a program to implement regulation on implanted medical devices and paving the way for unique device identification systems, which could in turn lead to implanted identification for all of us under the HIT provisions (Health Information Technology).

When are we going to wake up? None of this is constitutional. None of this is about healthcare. It's about the government using coercive legal means to circumvent rights granted to the individuals under the constitution. There is even a provision in this bill to limit free speech on page 396 section #3, that prohibits mailings or other communications that facilitate large-scale dissimination of the provisions of this bill!

This bill should be DOA! We need to get this information to everyone we know to protect us from this out of control government before it's too late and we all wish we lived in America again!

Just as I suspected Pelosi did another of her strong arm maneuvers and called the blue dogs in one by one and when they came out they voted her way. I am sick of these bullies forcing their will on the American people by bribing and arm twisting. I am praying now that everyone who voted for this atrocity will get voted out next year!

I agree with your post mostly. There's a profound conflict in America today about the direction our country will take. The beauty of our country is that we will resolve those differences peacefully, through a democratic process. That's one thing that makes our country great. We should all be grateful for the stability of our country.

The Founding Fathers did envision a government based on the consent of the governed. Americans elect representatives, and they, in turn, are supposed to vote in a way that represents their constituency. What they didn't anticipate is that rich businesses, like the insurance industry, could buy the votes of those in Congress. What they didn't anticipate or want was that the incredibly rich could decide how the rest of us live.

The Founding Father would be proud of this country right now, and the argument we're having. Their vision was not to duplicate the state of England at that time: a state sponsored religion, an aristocracy of the rich, and beggars on every corner. They wanted something better. They wanted a country that was judged not by the way the rich were treated, but the way the poor were treated. That's a Christian idea.

Has anyone noticed that there seems to be a 'Perfect Storm' brewing?

If you look at the story of the Andrea Gale, it was a fishing trawler that was sunk by 3 storms meeting in just the wrong spot, at just the wrong time for that ill fated ship.

We are possibly seeing an eerie parallel here to that event but on a political level. I can't recall any issues so divisive, so polarizing, under a new administration and involving the entire political spectrum of the US as those issues we are seeing now.

We have 2 sets of Perfect '3 Collision' Storms looking to happen. The Triumverate of the Economy, Health Care and Foreign Policy weakness, combined with the Leftists, Conservatives and Centrists Triumverate all colliding in a Political Storm that may sink the Democratic Party, Republican Party and current administration.

It's entirely possible that in the next 4 years, we see a system changed to a 3 Party system along ideological lines of "Liberal", "Moderate/Centrist" and "Conservative" lines. The old 2 party system may break up with the schisms inside of each party right now. With the way things are going today, we certainly will not see a second term for this President and that might be something for the Leftists to pay attention to while they are trying to steal all the power to the Executive/Legislative branches. If they are voted out by 2012, all that power may rest in hands they don't want to have it in.

Leftists: Be careful what you wish for, you might get it and you might not like it.
