Actually, the right to put a sign in your yard is a First Amendment right, not a Second Amendment right. But who’s counting?
I think this is posted at me? I did make a typing mistake…but then I already explained this.
Wasnt, tring to start an arrument, by being SARCASTIC. I’m sure you mean well, just as I do, have a great evening.
I probably overreacted. But it’s so dull around here these days.
That is a funny sign. I would be afraid in this day and age, if something did happen to that house, that the resident would be able to persuade a jury to make me criminally responsible though, lol
Criminally responsible for what? If someone breaks into my house I want to be able to defend myself from this “criminal”…..what’s wrong with that? Which person made the wrong move first, the criminal or the home owner? I would say the sign is fair warning to NOT break into my house. You’re funnier than the sign.
Well, first, I was making a joke about our current court system, and how the person to whose house the sign like this in my front yard was pointing, would somehow be able to make me responsible for them being broken into. Secondly, I fully support your right to defend yourself from someone breaking into your house. I own and carry several find pistols myself. I’m glad you are with me on that.
I wish I had a sign like that…..it would send the bad guy over to the dumb guy next door who thinks the government will keep him safe and warm in his little green house…..with a white roof who wants to save the world but has no clue on how to avoid a crook…….Oh, maybe the guy next door thinks Obama can get rid of all the crooks in the world too…..hmmm, time will tell I guess.
Suppose the gun-control supporter next door put up a sign listing Mr. NRA’s church going schedule just to let the “bad guy” know when the house is unoccupied. Would that be funny as well? This isn’t about the Second Amendment, this is about crappy neighbors. My guess is that the gun owning homeowner is the biggest danger in this neighborhood, not because of his guns, but because of his attitudes towards people who disagree with him. The right says “Obama is a fascist like Adolph Hitler”, but they will think this sign is funny. Ask a Jewish refugee from Hitler’s Germany if he thinks the sign is funny.
I think you over-estimate the commitment many people have to church. Also, it is a second ammendment right to post that sign, just as it is a second ammendment right to make certain kinds of art that i do not find tastefull. And then, I find it kind of interesting that you have nailed this persons attitude, and his general status in the commnity from this one sign. You are amazing.
i mean fine and not find of course. in case you were going to misread my whole intention again.
Atheist Al, maybe we should ask a chinese man about mao and how he feels, since everyone in the white house seems to admire him and his policies…
Oh and alntht … Art and freedom of speech, in which the arts are under, is a 1st Amendment right, not a second Amendment right, read up on your constitution a bit.
Yeah I made an error because I was multitasking and rushing. Please forgive me. I was thnking about the display of the sign as opposed to the right to bear arms impliation when I responded in error. That was my fault. My second response above was also intended for another post in this same thread, also an error on my part to have posted it here. I also accidentally exceeded the speed limit on my way home. Another bad on my part for the day.
Your turn.
alntht , read above, I also posted in the wrong area today…
Hey Al, I a little confused about where you stand ( left or right )…..I think you were the one who said this sign is FUNNY, so how do you say the right said it? Where did we say that? Who’s laughing about gun ownership?
My thought was that the gun owner was making a statement about his right to own a gun. I’m sure the Jews would have wanted that right…..and I think now they are making sure they can keep it.
Go ahead and let everyone know when I’m out of the house – it’s a house. But don’t mess with my family.
Jews For The Preservation of Firearms – I’m sure you’ve checked them out on the web. Jews were caught off guard by Hitler.
Yeah, your neighbor must really be stupid not to own a gun. He would know what to do if a criminal broke in. But you know what you’d do – you’d shoot him right? Hey let us know the next time you blow away a crook with you big, long gun.
What’s he paint his roof white for, to reflect sunlight? That’s stupid.
