In today’s Washington Post, William Kristol exults:
The Gallup poll released Monday shows the public’s conservatism at a high-water mark. Some 40 percent of Americans call themselves conservative, compared with 36 percent who self-describe as moderates and 20 percent as liberals.

I am dong this because a friend of mine made me do it because.. he is right.. and.. as much as it sickens me to say so.. on this Glenn actually had a great point. It is a shame it isn’t on this website or others.
Was the Galvaston Project.. the approach to social security.
Very intelegent.. I read up on the plan.. so you take social security dollars and place them into a banking type system and lend them out to banks that pay a fix rate of return to the depositors.. that money is held till retirement.
I like the plan… my only real improvement to it would be to keep accounts to 100K (you could have 1 person with many accounts of 100K each) so you would protect each account with FDIC. More since the key problem with the problem was that some people took money from their account thus taking from their future retirement.. we may want to prevent a person from withdrawing from that account before the age of say 60.
Perhaps you could even have a pool that high income persons could contribute to from that account to support disabled and / or less fortunate.
I caught that as well. I was very surprise that this could be legal. You know how the government hates competition. This is the answer to failing social security.
