10/23: Obama: Republicans ‘Do What They’re Told’
Posted by Editor on October 23, 2009 · 10 Comments
During a fundraiser in New York Barack Obama let loose with probably the most laughable claim so far during his faltering presidency:
“Democrats are an opinionated bunch . . . y’all are thinking for yourselves. . . The other side [i.e. Republicans] . . . they just kinda, sometimes do what they’re told . . .”

Actually, it was a joke.
on who?
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that my friends and I all pitched in together and ordered 28 Official Glenn Beck 9.12 Project tshirts to wear to the next Tea Party protests and we love them!
When we wear our tshirts around town we get alot of attention which helped us recruit over 12 new Tea Party members this week.
You should order at least one for yourself and for your family members.
Right now they are on Sale with FREE shipping at http://www.wallstreetmarketnews.com/tshirts.html

How could any group as diverse as the Republican Party be expected to have everyone do as they are told?
Yeah that Republic black caucus is tough to hold in line.
Both sides are equally guilty of the claim. To say one side or the other isn’t as ‘blind’ to independent thought is beyond laughable. The statistical numbers demonstrate that you really only have around 10% of the voting public to sway. Everyone else will tend to fall back to their ideological roots, no matter how much they might not want to.
Doubt is the major factor. If I have a doubt the candidate from a party that isn’t my normal ideology will keep their word, I’ll tend to vote for my party candidate on the HOPES that they will follow the party line. It’s a deeply flawed methodology, but it exists and is pervasive.
The only way to beat that demon is to, for the course of one election, choose to vote contrary to your party UNLESS your party’s candidate is a true representative of what you actually want. If they are an incumbant, they should have the tag of ‘rebel’ on them right now and not have been part and parcel of the problems our government has created for us in the last 20 years. That’s very few people in political power today. That means that 9 out of 10 congressional representatives (and senators) should lose their jobs, Democrat or Republican, fire most of them. I know I’m going to fire mine. They are awful.
You say, “The statistical numbers demonstrate that you really only have around 10% of the voting public to sway.” You mean “statistical numbers” as opposed to what, imaginary numbers? Or is “statistical numbers” some kind of polling group I can reference. What is the source of that statistical number? What’s the confidence interval? What is the variance? Is that an “extrapolated aggregate across the demographics” or is it an actual percentage? Are there “follow up surveys to authenticate the results”?
Where do you come up with these statistical numbers? Did you graduate from high school? You sound really smart.
Where did you get the “9 out of 10″ representatives should lose their job? Do you mean “most” or is there some basis for that statistical number?
I think Obama got his wording backwards….most Democrates are a robotic group that follows the “crowd” and Obama is the one who said Fox News and it’s followers are just “opinionated” talkers.
That’s rediculous.
You needen’t look any further than the seemless stonewalling by the Repubs in congress to see the truth of the matter.
