9/25: What’s So Complicated About the Tea Party Movement?

Beck: Why is it that no one in the fringe media can get the tea parties right?

Is it really that tough to figure out why so many people are willing to take precious time out of their busy lives to make their voices heard?

Is it really that complex?

Is it really so difficult to comprehend that people become concerned when their president sets out a mission to “fundamentally transform” the country?

I find it ironic that Obama in Pittsburg gave the protests during the G20 meetings notice but never gave a comment on the march on DC. He stated to our countries guests’ that in America, demonstrating and free speech is our right. So the media can show the rest of the country and the world of how free speech looks like in Pittsburg but not in DC?

I don’t have an answer on how to make the mainstream or the fringe media understand that it isn’t about the “tree” it is about the “forest”; There have been “voices” speaking out for many years about how the media giants have evolved to only cover what is politically correct and what is on the agenda. These giants love to tout the size of the war chest of candidates but don’t comparison shop for the voter on the issues at hand and how the candidate really stands on each of the individual issues.

There are news anchors and reporters that are “long in the tooth” and never once gave thought to the statement of “Redistribute the Wealth”. I know it wasn’t that long ago that statement alone would have raised the hairs on every Americans neck and have all thinking back to Marx, Lenin and the Bolshevik’s.

America has always walked the thin line of socialisum but we have always come back to the middle of the road when the crisses is behind us but I now worry that the “transformation” of our country is something quite different and the stage is set for the “coming out” party of the hidden agenda.

Yes Glen, it is that complex; The “people” have been sleeping at the wheel and the “minority” of vocies that have raised the alarm for so many years that there is danger ahead were ignored. Now that “danger” is here, the “people” are now asking how we got here. I only hope that you and the rest of “We the People” are in time to save our country from the fate. God save us all.

I voted for OBama and I’M sorry and ashamed I did. He has not lived up to all he has said but he is trying to change america as we know it. Do we want a shadow goverment in control? We must listen now if we can and stop them before it is to late…it is like a bomb ticking. How much more proof does congress need? Van Jones and CZARS and crazy people are in charge of our destiny and we need to stop this maddness.

  3. clint says:

There is nothing complicated about the tea party movement. The people are fed up with the 700 billion.786 billion, and now 856 billion to somewhere in the ball park of 1.4 trillion in the next 10 years. Its is simple figure out how to pay for the first 1.4 trillion before planning to spend another 1.4 trillion.Reckless spending is how we got here driven by greed in both partys ,so where is the accountability Obama promised.Transparency ?accountability?
Obama said he would bring this back to the government yet he gets in office and does nothing.Instead we wast tax dollars investigating yet again the CIA reguarding torture , all to make the left happy. The left is a well oiled machine and seems to have a lot of influence over our president. That my friends is complicated and scary.

FOX News. Simple stories for simpletons.

    • clint says:

      Simpleton an ignorant,foolish,or silly person.
      Synonyms dolt,fool,numskull,blockhead,ninny,dope
Way to go New Yorker you found a creative way to call people a lot of names with one word bravo.I do have one question for you .Do you think it makes you look smart to use words like simpletons? A smart person wouldn’t have to call people names to make them look ignorant .So what does that make you? Do you have nothing to say or do you lack the compassion to understand where people are coming from. You may disagree but you are like the pot calling the kettle black when you have nothing better say than call names.

  5. Joe Dirt says:

It’s not at all complicated…Joe Sixpack is mad as heck and he ain’t gonna take it any more.
We are being taxed and not represented. Every politician in public office in DC has broken their solemn vows to their constituents which is to do what the people want…Look at Barney F. he says he will go against what his constituency wants because he knows best whats good for them…What a fool.

Oh I forgot that the liberal left only knows their views which is obscured by their own minutia and rose colored glasses…
Communists cannot understand the idea of freedom, so I guess to them it IS complicated in their small minds.

  6. Sportster2005 says:

Actually, I believe Ron Paul provided the best answer in response to a question in the interview in Time Magazine. The question was: “If people are so frustrated with a two-party system, why has there been so little success in coming up with another real contender? —Erika Groff, Troy, N.Y.” Ron Paul’s answer: “Because we don’t have a two-party system. We have a one-party system. Both parties endorse the welfare state and corporatism. Both parties support interventionism overseas. But they also write all the campaign laws. So they have made it virtually impossible to break into the monopoly. If I had run on a third-party ticket I wouldn’t have been in the debates.” Naomi Wolfe came to the same conclusion. The Party (ies) lock everyone out they don’t want in the sandbox. I have voted for Ron Paul, for Alan Keyes and others whom I think are American Patriots. I will not vote for a Republican or Democrat just to try to have voted for a winner who is a loser.

  7. djenkins says:

This website claims to be bringing Americans back together – but all I see is Republicans bashing Democrats.

This is just a Republican hangout website. This is where Republicans unite. The premise of “bringing us all back together where we were on 9-12″ is phony.

And basically, whether or not you agree with my assertion depends on the color of your politics and the level of your Glenn Beck brainwashing. I mean, if you can’t see that, you’re probably a brainwashed sycophantic Glenn Beck sock puppet – and then you’re going to believe what this website and what Glenn Beck tells you no matter what.

    • alcade says:

Glenn Beck brainwashing? You’ve got it wrong indeed my friend. You actually think the people on this site weren’t conservatives before they had heard of Glenn Beck? I remember believing in conservative values when I was in the 8th grade… despite being raised in a far left household. Perhaps calling this the 912 project is a bit of a misnomer. Conservatives and Liberals rarely agree on anything, especially these days. I’m sure you’ve noticed that we are all very unhappy with the Obama administration, just as I’m sure you were very unhappy with the Bush administration. I was unhappy with Bush as well.

But in the spirit of “bringing us together,” can you and I agree on one thing? We’ve both been very unhappy with the way the federal government has been working lately. Do you think that Bush is going to be the last Republican president in history? I know for certain that Obama won’t be the last Democrat president in history. So what do we do? Fight like mad when the other party’s man is in power? We’ve been doing that for the last 8 years, and will continue to do so for the next 4. I have a solution: Limit the power of the federal government to what it was originally intended for in the constitution. You’ve heard the saying “A government that is big enough to give you what it wants is big enough to take it away,”? Well, a reigned in federal government would satisfy us both. Liberals like Obama and Pelosi wouldn’t have the power to socialize our country as they’ve been trying to do, and Conservatives like Bush wouldn’t have the power to try to turn this country into a police state. Only by limiting the role of the government like our founders intended will protect me from your liberal policies, and you from conservative policies.

        test, and great reply

      • jimbo says:

        Good point…

Please help me understand what that means… role back government power?

        What powers would that be?

For example, recently the federal government and many state governments targeted a single organization to specifically defend that targeted organization and remove that specific organizations contracts.. would that be over reaching the power of the fed?

I am more than willing to say that the government when going after guns is a concern of mine and that the government shouldn’t try to take weapons from a person or group of persons.

    • Germaine says:

djenkins, if you believe this website is only for Republicans and is a place for Republicans to hang out on, what are you doing on this website? I want to tell you something. I have never considered myself a Democrat or a Republican, and I have always voted according to my own conscience, whether Republican or Democrat. However, this administration, beginning with Obama’s campaign, smelled of something a whole lot worse than a skunk, and the longer this administration has control, the stinkier the smell becomes. Now, I would venture to say that most of us who participate on this website are contributing because of our concern which this country is taking; are wanting a better life for their children and their grandchildren, and are not criticizing the present administration out of hate, but rather out of a sincere consideration for the welfare of this country, and the future that it holds for its citizens. I am one of them. Color of politics has nothing to do with it, but rather an innate desire to keep the freedom of this country intact, our inalienable rights intact, and our pusuit of liberty and happiness intact. We are here to defend the Constitution of the United State. That is why we are here.

    • laidoff2009 says:

I dont think I have ever been brainwashed. I was taught that there is always two sides to a story. I am a life long democrat but have never walked the party line. I vote for the person; I vote for solving issues that will benefit all not a select few. And I think if you read what is posted from most folks here, you will find that they want that too. I am sure that there are a few here that think skin matters but I have yet to read or see them.

I think you need to sit back on you kester and put some thought to this question: Are you happy with what our government is/has been doing for the past 20, 30 or 40 years?? Our country is failing much as the Roman Empire did. Pull out the old history books and you will find the simularities are down right scary. The worst thing is that the younger generations dont even realize the rights or liberty they have lost because they dont exist anylonger. You dont miss what you never had. Glen has yet to tout the party – I dont always agree with him but he at least is voicing what many of our fellow countrymen, fellow American’s feel and putting it on the table for discussion.

i was in Washington 9/12 an will never forget the feeling of empowerment an the great Americans i met there. The fringe media an white house are afraid of us an pray we will go away. WE WILL NOT.. we will grow more in numbers, an our voices heard whether they admit it or not. I would love to see a Tea party in Washington again. Just before thanksgiving break. I am losing my small business, but my country is more important. it was a financial strain to go to Washington but , what has been given up in our history in the effort to gain and preserve our freedom. Can we do less? an yes there was between 1.8 an 2.2 million great Americans there. They know it an fear it….

  9. Nomarxism says:

The left clearly feels that if they ignore a “problem” it will go away. Problem is, the strategy is back firing and will only focus more attention on their leftist political manipulations.

  10. IC says:

first Glenn, if you do happen to read this, my Wife and I caught you in Seattle tonight and it was an honor to see you in person. We would like to thank you for your great “community organizing”.

To the point of your question: “Why is it that no one in the fringe media can get the tea parties right?”
I think it goes back to elitism. They are educated, enlightened, they know the Truth. It’s as if they have a checklist and if not every box is checked, fitting with their view of the world, they have an obligation to teach us, to persuade us with handpicked evidence to lead us to the right (their)conclusions. It’s the same thing with most of our politicians. We are treated like children. We who have faith in God have a foundation,an anchor, a lighthouse to guide us. Without that anchor, people are adrift and have a need to latch onto anything for some feeling of purpose or stability, whether that is global warming, animal rights, social justice, past societal transgressions or any other “cause” that gives purpose to their life. It’s not that we might not even share some of their concerns, it’s just that a belief in God gives us perspective, while their “belief” or “cause” becomes their religion. Cut that off from them and they are once more set adrift. Don’t agree with them and you are prying their fingers from the side of the boat they are holding onto for dear life. We may be the ones with the boat, but what they do, they do with the belief that they are saving us(from ourselves). We’re just at a point where too many people holding onto the side of our boat is going to capsize it.

  11. paladin55 says:

After 50+ years of insidious indoctrination by the public school system and the whole of the television industry, i am suprised by the amount of resistance still left in our populace. i pray that it is enough to avert a civil war, for the one we fought in the 1860’s was started over far less.

  12. Dan Rolsina says:

I love it when people say something is complicated, when it isn’t complicated, it just isn’t what they had wanted. What I wonder is where all the Tea Party people were 25 years ago, when the Federal Government had grown bigger under Reagan (then Bush, then Clinton, and Bush again). Good to see Glenn Beck get it right, that both parties are more about maximizing government and no where near the limited government our Constitution started out with.

This is how simple it is: no one likes to be told what to do all of the time, it doesn’t make us happy. The pursuit of happiness needs liberty! Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness all go together.

  15. Beck gives us facts to prove the corruption. Reference Horowitz who’s book, “Shadow Party”, gives shocking details in how the left are really anti-American. Horowitz demonstrates the strategy of the (traitors) has been gradual. The Fringe news media has been currupt for decades. That is why they some how can not hear us yet. They need to be almost out of business totally to perhaps revise a little. However, in reality, they are actually helping us get our wheels running to get rid of the corrupt congress. How do millions of Americans crowd the streets and not get in the news accept to be called racists? News media and congressional treason seems an appropriate word. Punishment may be due.

  16. FrienduvGlenn says:

Glenn, I watched you boil a frog, a metaphorical frog, on TV. That was neat! I love frog legs, how about you? Frog legs are good fried, though, not boiled. Amphibians are becoming endandered, Glenn, not metaphorically, actually; therefore, boiling actual frogs would be unconscionable, unless you were hungry, then that’s debatable, because some people, namely vegans and vegatarians, have a problem with killing anything that walks, swims or flies, but they’re OK with killing plants for some reason, and mushrooms, perhaps because they’re stationary. My point is, they wouldn’t have a problem with the frog, they wouldn’t be horrified, if they knew upfront that it was fake, like the republicans and democrats who think you kissed up to Couric, but even vegans have trouble understanding metaphors, but I understood you perfectly! Thanks for the great show! Next week, maybe boil a potatoe or something stationary, OK?

  17. con10tious says:

The problem is that politicians don’t want to listen. I have written to Senator Bill Nelson three times and have received the same insipid response each time, even when I told him that if he persisted, I would do whatever I could to elect the other guy!!! How do we get politicians to really listen?

  18. Endofdays says:

We are already in WWIII. I cannot believe the UN was shocked to learn that Iran already had a nuculear facility. They need to get their heads out of their butts. Why is it that the average American citizen can clearly see what is going on and our Government is blind.

I believe that the leaders of Iran, Venezuela, Russia, Lybia …. and any others who are Israel and U.S. haters are all in bed together and have a master plan to join forces to destroy Israel and the United States. The plan is to weaken our economy, in which this has already happened. I don’t believe we will be able to stop these events from occurring.

If President Obama believes that Ahmadinejad is going to bow down to his demands, he is sadly mistaken. This guy is a lunatic and he is all for total destruction.

  19. etech says:

If you look at the F D Roosevelt scenario that kept him in power for 4 terms, what Obama is doing makes good sense. First a big depression, made worse by government meddeling. Then, weakening of our defences (example: reducing our missile capabilities and now dropping the missile shield in Europe, destroying the effectiveness of the CIA, etc.) so that an attach from foreign powers becomes emminent. Next, emergency powers to fight the war. HELLO! WKEUP!

  20. bunnyma5 says:

Things to ponder….when will Israel take on Iran…when will Chavez make a move on US…when will an attack occur on our soil that the FBI can’t stop…when will the great Bozo stop dithering on a healthcare program we don’t want, and start tending to Afghanistan…when will we stop insulting our friends and cozying up to our enemies: Poland and the Czech Republic didn’t need us turning our back on them…Ronnie, we miss you…

  21. kivalady says:

The “fringe” media does not want to understand the Tea Party movement – their agenda matches that of the President and their tactics mirror the Alinsky playbook that Barrack Obama uses to achieve his goals. Demonizing, ridiculing, and marginalizing the real concerns of citizens in the Tea Party movement is the accepted means of neutralizing our message. The “fringe” media suffers from the same ego-induced blindness as our President – all Americans are stupid and easily led, believing anything a facile speaker tells them. The far left does not understand the power of individuals – they are mired in “group think” and see people as “voting blocs” – the fatal flaw of Socialism/Marxism. They never learn that “alike” and “equal” don’t mean the same thing.

  22. mcgrame says:

Glenn we are headed toward Obamunism and the “main stream” press loves it. They really believe in socalism and all the rest. I have heard that President Obama has come down against “Reparations”, but what he is doing is creating a permanent system of reparations for the underclasses. Everything he has done is heading us in a very particular direction and he seems determined to get us there as fast as possible.

  23. sdl48 says:

Glenn is absolutely right. What’s so difficult to understand? The American people have been saying it at town hall meetings and tea parties over and over. I don’t think it’s about not understanding. I think it’s about money and power. I believe that most of the media is being told what to report. Such a shame. I never thought that I would see this day. Maybe they will understand when we vote most of the current members of the Senate and Congress out and start over! I’d like to see what they report then! Keep up the great work Glenn telling the truth. We appreciate it. I am not a Republican or Democrat. Where are all the stand-up politicians? Unfortunately, it’s a very short list.

  24. popeye says:

It is not complicated to understand what the teaparties are all about IF you watch Fox News.
Clearly 50% of America does not and don’t agree with Fox News. The fringe media who can not compete against the Giant has no reason report the same thing as nobody would watch them. They will not go broke because America still have a great deal of ignorent people worshipping the new “World” leader. Ignore them unless you want to purchase advertising time on these fringe media networks.

  25. StuNC says:

    Placing bets now…

WWIII within 18 months…wait, the UN is involved…36 months. US, Australia, and possibly Israel vs. Russia, China, Iran, N. Korea.

Britain is already a muslim state, so don’t count on their help any time soon.

We look so WEAK on the world stage! Arrrrgh! I can’t stand it. Slag the Iran reactors already. Stop pandering, and grow a backbone, Glorious Leader BHO!

  26. StuNC says:

Please excuse me – just watched Glorious Leader BHO talk about G20 and I had to throw up. But I’m Back!

Point: 2 weeks ago (?) hundreds of thousands marched in DC to protest the Cogress and Glorious Leader BHO. Not one act of violence. Not one act of vadalism.

This week – Pittsburgh G20. Flames. Riot Police. Tear Gas. Masked radicals running through the streets. Arrests. Violence.

And they call us an angry mob!

  27. cal4truth says:

GREAT SHADES OF NORTH KOREA, isn’t this what the children there have to do to honor Kim Jung Ill, We the people need to change our government.

  28. deepthought says:

C’mon Glenn, that’s a redirected, sarcastic, self answering question if I’ve ever seen one.

If you really want to say “Hey folks, I’m upset that the mainstream media keeps being disingenuous about the Tea Party movement because they want to support left wing values and marginalize the right wingers.” then just say so. Sure, it’s not as subtle as how you put it but the time for subtlety is over don’t you think?

I think both sides, left and right, should abandon all this obfuscation and just come out and say what they really mean.

MSNBC: “We want a Socialist order. Fox is the Devil.”
CNN: “We’d like a Socialist order but we love ratings even more so we’ll pander to anyone. Fox is the Devil.”
ABC: “We can’t make up our minds if we are a real news organization or entertainment network since Disney bought us. Fox is the Devil.”
CBS: “Dan Rather got smoked, we’ve been hiding ever since. Fox is the Devil.”
FOX: “We love our Center Right standings, it’s ratings galore, and our opinion piecies outnumber our hard news story time by 2:1. Fox rules, the other drool.”

There, see? Much easier to understand. Now on to the real issues…
