Beck: Obama was mentored as a youth by a communist. He sought out the Marxist professors at college. He went to a black liberation theology church for 20 years. He worked his “whole adult life” with social justice, community-organizing groups and the SEIU.
Why should we believe he doesn’t want Marxism? And I don’t care what you call it, but it’s shades of one of these things — I don’t know what it is and no one will ask the question. But what do you call spreading the wealth around? It’s certainly not the American dream and the free market system.
Obama has certainly not forgotten or lost track of the political and community organizing activities on the ground and he has not forgotten how to “pull together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change.”

Mr. Beck is so right (he’s about to fall off the cliff). I agree with him on one point. Something big is going to happen-
the end of capitalism as we’ve known it for the last hundred years or more. Progressives like Obama recognize this and accept it. The planet cannot support the industrial revolution much longer. Mankind will only survive if we share food, water, and air. Our government can speed up the process a little by taking control of agri-business and beginning to distribute our vast food supply to starving human beings here and abroad for a profit and add to our treasury. It’s time to take a few medium sized steps to the left and inspire the world to save itself.
oh if we could all just be as honorable and intellegent and glen beck. he makes his living sitting on the fence and talkin about how everyone is so awful and corrupt and feels free to talk about scoiety when he lives in huge house in a gated neighboorhood away from the real people we should be listening to. thats someone i wanna hear talk about the problems with america, someone who only sees reality sittin on the street corner on his way to work.

I went there one night as a visitor to pull a shift with him. A kid came in from the barrio (18 months old or so) and when he opened his eyes they were fire-walled to the left. He couldn’t look straight forward. They thought he may have been dropped on his head to cause swelling inside his brain. The parents were nowhere in sight.
That’s a great place to see how the dregs of the earth treat their kids. Thanks for your service. That can’t be easy. I don’t know how you guys do it.

The last depression taught us many lessons about America. Just as our leaders then had been replaced then from republican to democrate then they again have been. We had the communistics wpa and other programs then we now have them again. Some were helpful others were not. The Klan marched on the whitehouse then. The NAZIs recruited in every large city in the US. Now we have Glen Beck type henchemen on television and in the goverment.
It was the Japanese who brought us out of the depression by attacking Peral Harbour. This one foreign act put in place the change which brought America together as one country to defeat our enemys. I hope that love of country is what brings us out of this and back to American values. Not preasure from the press.
I just wanted to point out that today, Glen stated that Democrats are Socialists, and Republicans are like “old” Democrats. I believe that it would be more accurate to describe todays Republican party as more of a facist party than anything. They push for a corporate favored agenda in the name of capitalism, and use religion as a reason for more social control. As a small business owner, I have heard about how important small business is to America from both parties, and over the years I have watched both parties stab us in the back. Democrats with their socialist agenda which small business owners can’t afford, and Republicans with their large corporate agenda in the name of a Global economy in which small businesses cannot compete. My point is; neither party is good for this country. Both are corrupt- feeding their own special interest. Both promise their base the world, and meanwhile it’s just business as usual. Who really believed Obama’s “Change” rhetoric anyway? And, who in their right mind would believe McCain was anything but more of the same? Don’t mistake unadulterated greed for capitalism, and at the same time don’t allow a liberal guilt trip to force us into socialism. Does it really matter to a slave what you call his situation?
Isnt it funny how its always the young immature teens and kids who have never worked a day in their lives, are unmarried, and dont pay any mortgage or taxes like us adults. How typical its always the “poor minorities, elitist yuppies, and high school and college students” who are always Democrat?? These people dont know what its like to work hard, and pay taxes and have to suport a family….only to watch half your paycheck go to the government in taxes. Well said Viper. These fools actually think Social Security and Medicare are good things. Let’s see a show of hands of people who love to pay 15% of their paycheck to Uncle Sam all their life, only to see a $1300 check every month when you retire. I would rather save 15% directly into a 401k, invest it (S&P average yearly return since 1927 is 10%). and retire with a lump sum of over a million dollars and live off the interest. Imagine someone making $50k a year, without a single penny as a raise, for 40 years, being able to sock away $7,500 every year into a tax free savings account. 10% every year, in 40 years…you would have a nice lump sum of $3,990,833.00. A 1% interest rate would let you live with $39k a year income. Again….compare that to what people get in SS nowadays. Even with cost of inflation adjustments….$4 million goes a long way when you retire. Kids these days cant do simple math.

Sorry Glenn, I didn’t answer your question. The President doesn’t want Marxism, because Marxism is not the answer to our problems. Under Marxism, workers are exploited to produce more goods and services than society needs. How does that apply here? Isn’t the President trying to get the unemployed back to work? Glenn, I think you have things way out of perspective here. Under Marxism, you take an already healthy, well fed group of workers and encourage them to over produce. The President is trying to take our available pool of workers, give them opportunities to earn money, support their families, in a healthy environment. How does that have anything to do with Marxism? Stop distorting the facts.
I don’t think he wants outright Marxism either but I do believe he wants to take us down the Socialist path. I think he wants to clone Western Europe. Ivy League intellectuals love Europe. They have socialized medicine, so he wants us to have it. The average European uses much less energy than the average American, they drive less and take mass transit and walk more. Europeans tend to live closer together, in smaller houses than we do. These are all things that liberals love. Now they also have sky-high taxation, perennially high unemployment and without us would not have the will to defend themselves, liberals don’t mind that at all.. So, they will craft policies that try to drive us to that end. They are trying to ram in the socialized medicine now. Next comes Cap and Tax. Energy prices will skyrocket as Obama said. This will make it more expensive to own a suburban home. I believe taxes will rise on them because government may give tax advantages to new urban home construction. They need to make up for that so the individual large houses in the suburbs pay more. There will be a lot of new rail construction too. Sounds like a lot of jobs. Well it won’t do a lot of good because the jobs won’t be producing anything that generates wealth. Wealth will be destroyed in the burbs and created in the city. Many people will lose value on their old places and be forced to buy or rent a new place, depleting savings. Money in motion, being redistributed, but nothing at all being created. It won’t create what they want but it could sink us into permanent recession. That is my prediction.

Marxism is “the system of economic and political thought developed by Karl Marx, along with Friedrich Engels, esp. the doctrine that the state throughout history has been a device for the exploitation of the masses by a dominant class, that class struggle has been the main agency of historical change, and that the capitalist system, containing from the first the seeds of its own decay, will inevitably, after the period of the dictatorship of the proletariat, be superseded by a socialist order and a classless society.” This is EXACTLY what Obama is doing. He is not “trying to get the unemployed back to work.” He is causing job loss at an exponential rate. You are correct that Marxism is not the answer to our problems. However, Marxism is just what Obama believes in and what he is trying to achieve in our country.

We grew up as a nation. We are one, together we stand. We will help each other when in need. And we will share with each other when we profit. The time of rich and poor in our country is gone. Here’s the difference. If you want to give money to help your fellow man, great. Absolutely, give every penny YOU earn away, but don’t demand that I or anyone else does the same thing. You don’t have that right to spend my money. I have that right. My tax money should NOT go to someone who hasn’t earned it or doesn’t deserve it. You can to exactly what you want to do through charities. Donate your own money to them. Help out in soup kitchens. Leave the government out of the charity business. Government jobs don’t produce anything. They put a drag on the economy. They take money out of the economy because you need tax dollars to pay the salaries. Private sector jobs that produces goods and services add to the economy because they produce things other people or companies can actually use. That makes the economy grow and puts money into it.
Glenn’s knowledge of Marxism, Communism or Socialism is basic economics. I learned it in my economics class. There is not trick here or magic about this. Its all available on the internet with a little common sense thrown in.
In a free country you will always have rich and poor. The rich get rich because they use their skills to start and run businesses to produce things people want. Anyone can acheive this if they have the drive to do it. If you take away from the rich, and give it to the poor, you take away the incentive to produce and prosper because if you do, what you earn will be taken away from you, so why bother in the first place? Besides that, you can sit around and do nothing all day and get money handed to you so why work? Why should I work to earn $100 a week when half of it is going to be taken away from me and given to someone who doesn’t work? I can be that person who doesn’t work and I will end up with that SAME $50 anyway. There is no reason to work.
If no one works, no taxes are paid. I think I made my point.

You will see how he really thinks and what his true agenda is. I don’t think you will like it and be so quick to defend it. I don’t think this administration will allow elections in 2010. Either it will find a reason to declare Marshall Law or the elections will be fixed as they were in Venezuela. Glenn, I don’t think you are going to be on much longer, be careful.
Well, I don’t think the American people will tolerate that. It will be interesting if the ACLU gets involved or they decide it is in the best interest of the people to not be allowed to vote.

I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but while we are preoccupied with healthcare, Napolitano has been having closed door sessions with pro-amnesty supporters working out their amnesty legislation. Noone that is against amnesty has been invited. August 20,2009. Legalizing all 22+ million illegals will bring an overbearing number of votes to the dems, not to mention all the new union dues paying members. We need to also focus on the amnesty issues before us if we stand a prayer of voting anyone out.

Socialism means total government control. President Obama’s health care reform offers the private obtion, but apparently that’s still socialist! Capitalism, part of the “principles” you mention, is completely un-equal. The wealthy people are at the top, while the poor are left at the bottom to fend for themselves. I’m all for helping someone out, but I’m not going to support them, and nowhere in our Constitution does it say that I have to! Charity is no charity at all when it’s mandated by the government, and all you’re doing is perpetuating someone’s situation when you just give them what they need. They need to take responsibility for themselves by weaning themselves off the government and my pocketbook. In truth, my method helps them more in the long run than your’s any day.
Look, if you have no job, you have nothing to give to “your fellow man.” If you think the government is going to take care of you, guess again. If no one works because EVERYONE is depending on the government, where do you think the money will come from for the government to hand to you? Eventually the system collapses under its own weight. If the government just prints money to cover the costs, you have hyperinflation and the money is basically worthless.
The other end of this is if things continue as they are, you young folks will have so much debt you won’t have money to give away. All your money will go to the government because your taxes will be so high. How will you live then? I think the point is, you need to think about your own future and how will you live on your own because you will have to at some point.

Our government is not responsible for taking care of you from the cradle to the grave. You want health care, you deserve health care. Go out and get a job that offers health benefits. There are no free lunches from the government, everybody pays more in taxes. Maybe one day when you have to pay a mortgage, feed a family, pay an exhorbitant electric bill (if cap and trade passes), car insurance, trash collection, household repairs, car repairs etc. etc. .

Your right, there are many socialist institutions in the U.S. right now, and I hate to tell you obama is involved with many of them and has been funneling government dollars to them for years now. I will repeat myself, if you want to know the truth about your president go to amazon and buy the book The Obama Timeline by Don Fredrick. This should be required reading for all high schoolers. You will learn of his life from birth to the present. You will be able to see his actions and thoughts on important issues that face our country today. Hopfully you are not too politically castrated by your education that you can still think for yourself and make your own decisions. It’s your future that we are fighting for.
This website is the perfect vehicle to unify us who believe in these values and principals. However, simply being here is not enough. Massing in public places in ‘tea parties’ is not enough.
The arguments against the administration are entirely necessary, but it is only a start. We need to ‘catch up’ because we are so far behind the corruption that intends to fundamentally change the United States into a socialistic nation. Much like the nations so many people fought and died defeating in the last century to protect our own freedom. Such hypocrisy!
Let me put this out there… Would anyone be interested in a bulletin board for anyone to post policy ideas that we can get behind in large numbers, and demand these changes from the government or we vote for the new guy next election? Power to the people? Let the policies that people suggest do the talking, not some talking head that has someone else filling their pockets. When you have the President’s hand picked men making racist accusations and basically threatening to take jobs, money, etc from one group and give it to another, well it could start to get a little ugly.
Don’t worry about the perceived racism because it cannot possibly be racism.

Before we start calling each other names, just remember that racism works both ways. It isn’t just white towards black it is also black towards white. I am not saying anyone is a racist but when you start talking about redistribution of wealth, who seems to benefit the most here? We should all be treated equally and should all be given the same chance. However, most of us make our own financial situations whatever they may be. Get an education and get a job. That is how you better yourself financially, not by putting your hand in someone else’s pocket and stealing what they have.

I completely agree with you wine, unfortunately, that should have happened long ago. Now we have to counter the Godless liberals that we’ve enabled by failing to do that in the first place. It would appear President Obama has something between Sweden and Venezuela in mind for America. His actions, words, and management team makes that clear. Legislative accomplishments shed no light as our president has none prior to his election.

I understand the point but if we buy nothing, won’t that lead to even more government bail outs, take overs and unemployment? A better suggestion is don’t buy anything from a government owned entity (GM Cars). I think what we really need to do is get out and vote in 2010. Get the Democrats out of office in Congress. That will block any further damaging legislature from passing. Send a real message to Washington.

Yes, I think we may have, because all of the wrong people are in power, and to actually THINK and use history as your guide is frowned upon. As a society, we’re soft. It started in the 60’s, when the worst generation was born – the baby boomers. Incited by a liberal media, fed misinformation by a formidable communist adversary, the boomer generation was duped into it’s current malaise. I live in California, and I am surrounded by crystal-gripping idiots who can’t see the parallels between what this administration is doing and every other “boil-the-frog” revolution in modern history.
