9/21: Americans More Likely to Say Government Doing Too Much

Americans are more likely today than in the recent past to believe that government is taking on too much responsibility for solving the nation’s problems and is over-regulating business. New Gallup data show that 57% of Americans say the government is trying to do too many things that should be left to businesses and individuals, and 45% say there is too much government regulation of business. Both reflect the highest such readings in more than a decade.

Politics in America and Statesmanship around the World

America has lost its way, why? Politicians have quit representing their contituents and are serving their own vainglory. What happened last week during the President’s address? A Congressman said lie to several comments made by the President. Is this the nexus of pulling America back to center? As per the founding fathers, a lie is a lie. No debate, a lie is a lie. The 9/12 (Beck) project is right on the mark. The President has not been truthful with the American People which tells me, our representatives think American citizens are not capable of making cognitive decisions. I’m guilty as most Americans of taking the course of Political Correctness a.k.a. The Dumbing Down of America. It’s ok to lie, just package it so it looks acceptable, well not anymore. I ask all Americans to hold their Congressmen and State Legislators to the same standards as our Leaders in the Army, Navy, Marines Corp and Air Force. Operations in the armed forces today, require strategic plans, sound leadership and statesmanship. The Military doesn’t start wars, politicians do. If military leaders base their decisions on lies, deceptions and ambiguity, not only are tax dollars wasted, our most precious resource is lost, the lives of our brave young men and women. Get it Congress and White House? It’s called ACCOUNTABILITY. You can’t defend a bad plan or base a relationship on lies, it fails every time. Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina must have a conscience when it comes to facing his constituency. A lie is a lie no matter how you try to dress it.

I think you may have the wrong url address here, or you need to be more specific on which one of the videos you want us to look at.

    • The only solution though is to champion non-government free market solutions otherwise they’ll get away with what they’re doing because no alternatives have been presented.

Solve for the PRETENSES and they have no justification for their power grab.

How do you champion a non-governmental free market solution to banking mess? Do the banks and financial institutions need more regulation or less? More government of less government? The problem there is that they didn’t regulate themselves very well.

Don’t get me wrong, most of the time I think you are correct, however we have some problems at this time that do actually require more government. (like the financial industry and health care)
