America has lost its way, why? Politicians have quit representing their contituents and are serving their own vainglory. What happened last week during the President’s address? A Congressman said lie to several comments made by the President. Is this the nexus of pulling America back to center? As per the founding fathers, a lie is a lie. No debate, a lie is a lie. The 9/12 (Beck) project is right on the mark. The President has not been truthful with the American People which tells me, our representatives think American citizens are not capable of making cognitive decisions. I’m guilty as most Americans of taking the course of Political Correctness a.k.a. The Dumbing Down of America. It’s ok to lie, just package it so it looks acceptable, well not anymore. I ask all Americans to hold their Congressmen and State Legislators to the same standards as our Leaders in the Army, Navy, Marines Corp and Air Force. Operations in the armed forces today, require strategic plans, sound leadership and statesmanship. The Military doesn’t start wars, politicians do. If military leaders base their decisions on lies, deceptions and ambiguity, not only are tax dollars wasted, our most precious resource is lost, the lives of our brave young men and women. Get it Congress and White House? It’s called ACCOUNTABILITY. You can’t defend a bad plan or base a relationship on lies, it fails every time. Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina must have a conscience when it comes to facing his constituency. A lie is a lie no matter how you try to dress it.
one thing i haven’t heard in a while is the cap and trade bill that stands to make polosi and a few other democrats very wealthy while it kills america and our values accorded to the constitution..people wake up,we have so much smoke and mirrors out there we have to keep focus on the fires popping up around us and put em out before they flare up and burn you out of house and home.
terry
Did he actually say “You lie”? I only heard “lie”
So it was okay to call Bush a lier on national television but not ok to call the Obamanation one. Double standards abound.
It was never ok for the office of the President to be defamed on the floor of the joint senate and house, however it is just as much my fault as anyones that the issue was not addressed before now. It was my obligation as an American to speak up when it was happening to President Bush and I sat silent. As a matter of fact, until today I never spoke up against anything I saw happening in my government before. But no more, If this 9-12 project has taught me anything, it is that sitting in my living room preaching to the choir about the issues I see happening in our current admistration does nothing. We must all speak up and have all the rules applied equally.all the time or not at all. And that is what I am going to do. I am writting my senator and congressman on both the state and U.S level. I called and found out who all my reps were today and called each of their offices. I said enough with this side show – get back to the business at hand –health care, unemployment, cap n trade abuses, acorn fraud, immigrantion reform that actually works and will be enforced, and fiscal responsiblity in government . I am tired of hearing about who said who lied -cause as of right now- everyone who does not uphold their end of the oath they took upon being swarn in to their office is lying and as Americans -not black americans or white americans or green purple or yellow american- we can vote to remove them if they dont start doing their jobs
Silent no more

I can see Katherine’s point. But … drastic times call for drastic measures….. Don’t you think it is a defamation for the President of the United States to LIE to the attendees and to the AMERICAN PEOPLE? What Obama did was more appalling than Rep. Wilson did and I completely support him!
I sent my Texas Rep. the letter today.
Too bad the rest of the people there that knew it was a lie didn’t speak their minds too!!!!
Mr. Wilson,
You have all my support. I think they tried to rubbed your nose in this too long. When the Dems apologize for the way they did business in Washington, then I suppose they can say they did it right as well.
Glen this 9 12 project is awsome… You are in a unique postion to help us all recover OUR country. Please don’t waste this opportunity on ratings they will be great if you DO THE RIGHT thing. The number 1 issue is corruption no doubt about it. Why call on congress men or women to step forward and blow the whistle? Lets be honest to get where they are they are to deep to get out. So why not push for the one way every one agrees to solve the problem. Thats right both parties state it over and over and over. Competition yes more to choices kind of funny when you relaize there are only 2 choices for what counts the most… Our Government yes there are other parties but unless the election process is changed these are 1 in a 1000 chances to get in… Why not make one of the pledges to reform election processes. You know the public option . This is the only true process that should be owned and totally financed by the public. No special interest, no corparations, no lobbyist.
I am sure you know what is coming next. Yes how about you use your influnce with all the grassroots groups and the nation in general and lets start the AMERICAN party. A party that will allow us all to pull together put aside OUR differences and achive the one goal and only way we will ever resolve issues. 34 Senate seats up next year would look great filled with AMERICANS. Glen you can do it please……..
Yes, we absolutely need a new party. Both the Republicans and Democrats are mostly progressives and liberals who support big government and make promises to the voters to get re-elected. I would support a new American Limited Government Party that would have a simple platform:
1. Strict and literal interpretation of the Constitution and the principles of our Founding Fathers.
2. Total support for individual liberty to allow each individual to live and do whatever they want to do as long as they do no harm to any other individual.
3. Personal responsibility of each individual to take care of themselves and absolutely no laws allowed to take from any individual to provide entitlement benefits to anyone.
4. Strict term limits so no Ruling Class (as we currently have) can exists. Our representatives must be ordinary Americans who only serve temporarily in government and then go back to their real jobs.
Not exactly what I had in mind. There are such a wide varity of options on what would work. That is why we all need to form a party thats main purpose is to open up the process for all. Like it or not there are liberals, progressive, libetrains, green party, etc…. The only way that any of these other ideas will be introduced or have a chance is to CHANGE THE SYSTEM. 100 percent public financed fedral elections with enough signatures on a petion to get you full funding, place in all debates, equal media coverage. Right now without a doubt the one thing the dems and repubs can agree on is that they are the only 2 players in the game. True every once in awhile a independent gets elected. We can change this within the next 4 years. Then all of us can join a party that defines how we solve the issues. I guess what I am saying is form a party to correct the biggest issues once this is done it could be disbanned. Eliminate corruption, the same old games, the good old boys, the special interest, corperate influence. Then we all would have a voice in solving the day to day issues.

That what you are looking for Liberty?
“Does Rep. Joe Wilson Measure Up to Our In or Out Pledge?”
I can’t answer that until I hear more from him. Whether or not he was displaying appropriate behavior is not even a consideration for me at this point. It’s already been done and he’s apologized. Whether right or wrong, it’s done…his opinion is out there. My question is: Where will he take it from here? He’s in the perfect position to take a stand. If you’re in, Mr. Wilson…let us know you’re in. Now’s the time…you have the spotlight.
He apologized, let it go. Inappropriate in that forum but he was right. Obama lies all the time or at the very least he is just too ignorant about what is in the bills in the first place. Wilson shouldn’t have to apologize to Pelosi which is what she wants. The Boxer’s, Pelosi’s, Frank’s, Obama’s, et al, are all about the power. They don’t care about citizens or doing what is right. They’ve never had to work for a living and are definately not the kind of people who make the world go around. That falls on us, to put food on our own tables and on thiers…
Having said that, however, I’ve watched Glenn use humor over the months as only Glenn Beck can apparently do. Comedic timing and context is an art, I think. I don’t say that we shouldn’t use it; but just plain crassness and screaming? Out of bounds.
So what if Glenn Beck is a little crazy or even a lot crazy. What is important is the message and Glenn Beck is doing more to expose corruption in government than anyone else. ABC, CBS and NBC are liberal propaganda machines that have keep the apathetic American public totally in the dark and clueless.
I think a distinction can be drawn about Rep. Wilson’s outburst: a) that Obama does in fact lie, all the time, yet b) that puerile outbursts during a public speech are out of order. If we wanted the hijinks and hilarity of the British House of Commons, we’d issue rubber chickens and rotten tomatoes to our elected representatives.
I don’t think that joining fools in their foolishness, is a mark of statesmanship. I don’t know Rep. Wilson from Adam; he may be a fine fellow. But it strikes me that as We The People in the great American heartland begin to stand up — as Atlas begins to shrug — we should let our numbers, and the U.S. Constitution speak for themselves. Leave the churlish catcalls at home…better yet, let the Van Joneses of the world do the name-calling, while we round up criminals, incarcerate them, and seize their assets for high crimes.
We have the law on our side, and force of numbers. Sreaming maledictions blunts the force of our citizen’s argument.
I would like to point out that Joe Wilson has done what Glenn Beck was unable to do – get the traditional media to cover the story. Aside from that, there has been so much OUTRAGEOUS behavior coming from the other side that I can’t get my panties in a wad because someone on our side gave a little back.
Joe Wilson is a good man and apologized right after the speech to Obama. And Obama accepted the apology. Joe said in news reports I saw the next day that he truly was sorry for the ourburst and just had a a “townhall” reaction that he agreed was not appropriate for the sacred body in Congress (although I personally don’t believe the corrupt politicians in Congress deserve an once of respect). Certainly, Obama is a lying politician who is attempting convince the American public that healthcare reform is needed. He’ll say whatever he thinks will do the job regardless of Truth. Anyone who believes the federal government can do anything major to healthcare without adding to our enormous debt is ignorant. But that is the snakeoil Obama is selling.
That man has some serious b****. Bought time someone in washington grew a pair!
As for apologizing, he can apologize after Peloski and other Liberals apologize for calling the CIA liars, naming many as Nazi’s, Holocaust deniers, etc…
Joe Wilson all the way!
Not to mention calling American citizens who speak out against their policies and proposed legislation Nazis, astroturf, racists, disinformation mongers, un-American . . . the list goes on!
Where is OUR apology! And they’re still at it. Humana sent out a letter to seniors advising them of what the Obamacare would mean to them, and the WH and Congress tried to force them to pull the letter, b/c in their estimation it was disinformation. Are we starting to get the picture yet? This has nothing to do with truth or disinformation; it has everything to do with “if you don’t agree with me and what I’m doing then you are a problem.” We need to continue to speak out. Our freedom of speech is too precious!
