Time to Quarantine Corruption

320_beck_0912It’s Saturday, September 12th. Friday was the eighth anniversary commemorating September 11, 2001. In the spirit of 9/12, the day after the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history — when even French newspapers proclaimed: “We’re all Americans” — we were united.

Is Beck right? Post your COMMENT in the FORUM below

It was said by so many: “America has changed forever.” But so many were wrong.

We changed for a brief time and then slipped right back into bickering, partisan, factions. What happened? How did we lose that 9/12 feeling so quickly?

Well, for one thing, we don’t trust each other any more. It’s always Republicans against Democrats, Democrats against Republicans and independents against them both.

Then we have the media continually beating that partisan drum. Let me ask you a question: Who, in everyday life, ever worries about political party affiliation? When was the last time you asked someone at a barbeque, “Hey, are you a Republican or a Democrat?”

When you’ve had an accident or you’re sick and you’re in the emergency room filling out insurance forms, how many times have you been asked what political party you most associate with?

When you die and you’re standing at the gates of heaven, will the proverbial St. Peter, who proverbially stands at the gates, have you check Republican or Democrat before entering? No! It’s ludicrous! Who cares?

It’s this back-and-forth battle — constantly at each other’s throats — that stops us from talking about the things that do matter.

This is the country that built the Empire State Building in just over 400 days. Think of that. The tallest building in the world at the time (and all the way up until the World Trade Center was finished) was built in a little more than a year. That was in the early 1930s.

The Twin Towers were destroyed eight years ago. And what’s replaced them? Nothing. Really? We can’t quickly, efficiently, industriously rebuild what was there — only better? We can’t put up the Freedom Center and call it that unabashedly, unashamedly and unafraid? In, let’s say two years or three — four tops?

We can’t fix our energy situation, build better cars than anyone on planet Earth or make health care the best the world has ever known without becoming something we’re not? Of course we can.

Or, we could. But instead, we bicker, battle and fight amongst ourselves. Our arguments come to: “Oh, you hate! You’re racist! You’re a warmonger! You want to poison people and starve children.”

I don’t know a single person who would like to do any of those things.

So, who is it that’s teaching us to behave this way? Our politicians.

One of the issues we have is the spreading sentiment that capitalism is evil. That redistribution of wealth is a good thing. Any time you mention the words Marxism or communism, the left paints you as some sort of nutjob, a McCarthyite.

First of all, that’s just ridiculous. I’m not a U.S. senator. I have no power to subpoena witnesses, launch investigations or accept huge contributions from George Soros or GE.

Second, with any of these radicals in the Obama-sphere, we’ve just used their words and asked questions about them:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIPS)

REP. MAXINE WATTERS, D-CALIF.: This liberal will be all about socializing — basically, taking over and the government running all of your companies.

VAN JONES: No more broken treaties. No more broken treaties. Give them the wealth! Give them the wealth!

(END VIDEO CLIPS)

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

JOHN P. HOLDREN: I think ultimately the rate of growth of material consumption is going to have to come down and there’s going to have to be a degree of redistribution of how much we consume, in terms of energy and material resources, in order to leave room for people who are poor to become more prosperous.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

THEN-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA: When the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s going to be good for everybody.

I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

OBAMA: The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth…. The tragedies of the civil rights movement was — because the civil rights movement became so court focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change.”

(END AUDIO CLIP)

Nationalizing our companies and redistributing our wealth and resources — we hear that stuff everyday now, right? So we’re mixing in a little Karl Marx with our Founding Fathers — so what?

But as big as I think that problem is, it isn’t even the biggest we face. What is the biggest problem we face today? Is it health care? No, as bad as it is, it’s still, the best in the world. The economy? Nope. As bad as that is, we still have millions of people from all over the world struggling to get here. Is it global warming? Please. We just experienced the 34th coolest summer in U.S. history.

No, our biggest problem in this country is: corruption.

Corruption is the sickness that infests our nation.

Charlie Rangel refusing to answer tax problem questions? Chris Dodd on the Countrywide thing? Barney Frank and Fannie Mae scandals? William Jefferson bribes? Duke Cunningham and other GOPers?

Our government is preparing for a potential crisis that we’ve been hearing about a lot: swine flu. How would we respond to an outbreak of swine flu? Well, you know that if it was your family that had an outbreak of H1N1, you can bet that health officials would keep you in your house. You would be quarantined. If it spread through your neighborhood, that would be quarantined.

The same way that flu spreads, so does the plague of corruption.

How do we stop it? Can we stop it by turning to special interests or unions? ACORN? SEIU? We all know it can’t be. In this plague, Washington, D.C., is Patient Zero.

We need to quarantine Washington: Nothing in; nothing out.

We’ve all seen great people head off, newly elected to D.C., and what happens? They change. After a few months or a couple years, you start to think: “What happened to them?” They were infected with the disease of corruption.

No one in and no legislation comes out — infected legislation spreads across our country like… well, a plague.

So what do we do? We stop spreading the disease. It’s time to reconnect with our founding principles. Fifty-six men signed the original documents that every American patriot still believes in with all their heart over 200 years later. Fifty-six men changed the world forever. We currently have 535 people in the United States Congress. You can’t tell me that we don’t have 56 committed patriots there who understand that there’s an illness in D.C. and would like to do something about it, but just don’t know how or what to do.

Let’s offer them the way out.

First of all, we all demand daily to our representatives that they pass nothing until the corruption is stopped.

Second, we let them know that we all make mistakes and we offer them the chance for redemption. If they’ve been part of the problem, come forward, let us know about it and we’ll be forgiving. Now, if you’ve broken the law, obviously, you’ll have to pay for that. But if it’s something that has dishonored you, your office or your family, then confess it, deal with it and we will stand behind you if you help us clean up this mess.

We need to offer a way out to members of Congress. Now we know that some of these people are like Typhoid Mary, just spreading corruption wherever they can. Others, can and will find redemption and feel good about themselves and their country again. Still others have maybe not yet been fully infected.

I had this idea the other night, while reading Thomas Jefferson. Let’s begin the search for the 56 men and women who help us re-found America: Patriots, “refounders” willing to put their nation ahead of themselves and their party affiliation. Stop identifying yourselves as Republicans and Democrats; start identifying yourselves as Americans.

Republicans should begin the cleanup of the GOP and the Democrats clean out the corruption in the Democratic Party. We all know it’s there — so, admit it: Clean up the mess and let’s move on.

So, we stop talking about any policies or legislation passing — a total quarantine. We get Democrats to focus on fixing the Democratic Party and Republicans to focus on the Republican Party. Come out, find a microphone and purge the disease. Come out to CNN, if you’re more comfortable there — it doesn’t matter, just do it and restore your own party.

As for what you can do: You need to apply the pressure on Congress that enforces the quarantine. And, reach out to your neighbor with facts — not with emotion, not with anger, with facts. Don’t worry about the game players — those stuck in the right vs. left rut — forget them and move on. Talk to the reasonable ones.

We can’t seem to agree on anything anymore in this nation. But the one thing on which all reasonable Americans can agree is that we don’t want corruption in our government. In nearly every poll taken for the past several years, it is the No. 2 concern on the minds of the people.

Let’s stop thinking about it and do something about it.

Okay, first, Glenn Beck chastising people for being partisan is the pot calling the kettle black.
Second, the beginning is the partisan chastising, the second part begins with “the radicals in the Obama-sphere”…hypocritical? Anyone? Bueller???
Beck lost it somewhere around the time the 12th or 13th advertiser dropped his show.

They were Ben Franklin warned that if you create a position that has power and money, corruption would follow. He said he wanted to go on record as having said it even though he knew that would still vote it in. We need more people like him.
      Washington never accepted a salary.

I think it is a good idea to seperate washington DC from the rest of the country. Did you know that mostly negros live in washington DC? it makes sense cuz Acorn probably got them all subsidized houses and stuff so they can be closer to the liberal left leftists.

Did you know that its mostly negro and black women who have the abortions? That may be why God Jesus Christ is having trouble believing in the usa right now. Am I right Glenn?

    God bless yall!

My awakening begin when I watched “The Constitution Class” series of videos by Michael Badnarik. Here is the first one…. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5085838350268647159&ei=sELlSfjQBYKGqQPE3O36Aw&q=michael+badnarik&emb=1# , google for the others. There are 7 of them, each approx. an hour long. You can download them.

I learned more about our Constitution and our country from these videos than I ever learned in school or in my whole life. I am now 53. Once I finished watching the series, I then looked to what our Govt. was currently doing. My eyes have been opened wide and I now can understand all that Mr. Beck has been trying to show us and what the dangers truly are. I think that these videos should be required viewing for all High School students across the nation. Especially now as they will be the “new voting base” in 2010. If your local teachers will not show them in your schools, see about obtaining Mr. Badnarik as a speaker in your hometown. Share the above link with everyone you possibly can. If I tell two friends, who tell two friends….etc. Cut and paste this on other blogs. Share it with all.

To go about saving something, first you have to know and understand what it is you are trying to save and why it matters so much! Educate our children now, as they are the future of our country. I can now state that I am proud to be an “American Citizen” and not a “U.S. Citizen”. Watch the videos to know what the difference between the two are, and why, because it is very important to the future of this, our magnificent country! Thanks for reading this.

glen beck you are right about alot of things i am glad to see that people are finally standing up for their selfs. corruption runs deep it is our duty as americans to over throw the goverment if it becomes corrupt that is one reason why we have the right to bear arms. because people dont stand up for their selfs the door was opened for all this corruption this has been going on for years. It has come to the point where the politicions dont feel they have to listen to the american people anymore because they think they know what is best they forget they work for us. The biggest problem is evryone has their hands in each others pockets its all about power and greed the system needs to be rebuilt from the local level on up. The fact is when these people run for office people should know that when they promise things they are lying to get your vote but yet people vote for them because they are saying things that people want to hear. If someone was to run for office and is very honest people whould not vote for them because they really want to be lied to and the funny thing is when people find out that they have been lied to they are mad so i really hope people have had enough of all the lies. A lot of people have fought and died for this country for freedom but yet we give it up so easy americans need to stand together and do what is right remember what we leave behind our children will have to live with. our fore fathers would not stand for people losing theirs rights before long americans will be working for the goverment i hope people understand fredom doese’nt come easy sometime we have to sacrifice. I really feel someday my children will have to flee to a different country. So if we do not do anything then nothing changes. So for myself i will stand with glen beck and all americans who want to make a change in our nation god bless america

And if this is true, then this is even more evidence of Obama’s Marxism. Does anybody know if this is rumer or truth?

    • jaopfer says:

strang, have we moved back to this site? Is the other site still working , I can get onto vent but there are no entries?
As for corruption at a local level, I don’t know how your system of local government works, but here we vote for our local council reps and ours are sooo corrupt that the corruption watchdog have had to raid the council chambers, confiscate computers and records and our council is now being run by administrators.
They have had a nice little racket running for years. The property developers pay the council bribes, and the council approves their applications. The ex Lord Mayor is now a minister in our state government. If it is happening here, you can bet it is happening there.

  11. arttoglass says:

I used to work for a US Congressman (presently US Senator) in early 1990’s and it seemed like all (435) of them had a credit card with your name (taxpayer) on it and were saying charge it all the time. And much like an out-of-control person with a severe gambling addiction, were recklessly putting the country into severe financial distress. I’ve got mine and let the lesser animals fend for themselves seemed to be their attitude.

Today would argue many members of Congress and this Administration would no problems trading places with their North Korean or Cuban counterparts, wouldn’t bother them a bit. They don’t have a position on the issues or set of core values, they simply like telling people what to do. Don’t care if it’s Nazi Germany dealing with the Jews or Afghanistan (right now) fighting alongside the Taliban. What is wrong with government today is well beyond the issue of corruption.

    • cherman says:

I agree with you arrtoglass, i just recently read The 5000 Year Leap and it makes me very scared to see how far away our society has gone from the principles of the founding fathers and all the people in congress that designed this wonderful democracy. As Thomas Jefferson says it all comes down to character in a public servant, and it has nowadays come down to what your last name is, how much money you have and who does your family know when it comes to public servants. I agree with Glenn when he said that this is a nation that when they come together can do anything. It seems as if now all we are doing is coming apart.

About once a week I write letters or call my congressmen and senators and get the usual canned responses and it just makes you feel powerless and hopeless. Sometimes I wonder if it would just be easier to move back to my small town I came from where people still have good values and generally care about one another. That is what this country was founded on and people are still living it in some places out here in flyover country.

    • mike shaw says:

I agree, arttoglass. These Congressmen would have no problem working for N Korea or Cuba. I watched CNN in 2004/2005 when Schumer and either Dodd or Frank were lauding themselves for changing the banking regs to allow sub prime mortgages so that “all RESIDENTS, (not Citizens) could enjoy the right of home ownership.” And in the next breath Schumer promised an audit to any bank that refused to go along. Because they put our own oil off limits, foreign gas prices were going up at the time and I knew that once the cost of transportation caused layoffs, these sub prime mortgages would bite us hard. Even Bank of America was running ads offering mortgages to illegal aliens. Many on the left in Congress are working as hard as they can to ruin this country, and the rest including the GOP are sitting idly by and watching ity happen. These Progressives aren’t stupid, this is all to a plan and they are working the plan.

  12. DavidMZuniga says:

I agree with “awriddelsBIOT”, that it would be difficult to find even 56 statesmen in this Congress. Even if we could find so many, the number 56 has no practical significance at this hour; 10.5% of Congress cannot restrain human nature gone to seed in the other 89.5%.

Glenn, we believe you are God’s man for this hour. You have a heavy burden to bear, now that you’ve taken the tack of truth and the Constitution. We’re sending you a shorter, updated proposal for the AmericaAgain! project, on FedEx today. Should be at the front desk of the studio tomorrow.

Please, PLEASE, will you look at it? We’ve found the framers’ RESET button on the Constitution; a perennial 3-pronged, 535-front citizens’ self-government offensive that can restrain federal government and maintain Rule of Law because it merely enforces our Supreme Law. There is no Utopia on earth. But a reasonable number of citizens can, if they will, humbly turn to the Lord God in repentance. We can spend just a few hours per month right at our home or office computers, discharging our duty of self-government. We can enforce the terms contained in the Constitution. We can change American political and economic life, thereby.

  13. Santiago Duran Jr. says:

Glen, you hit the nail right on the head. To kill a snake, you don’t attack its tail, you cut off its head. I sense a great awakening of the people of the United States of America. We have had enough of the corruption and nonse that has plaqued our beautiful country and it is high time to take it back and restore it to God and We the People. I believe if we pray and seek the face of God that He will harken to what we ask of Him. Only through a thorough inventory of our lives and new commitment to change our world in a positive way, can we achieve the goal of purging the evil that befalls our country. We must stand together, fight together, and spread a renewed push for our Freedom, Liberty, Justice, Constitution, Bill of Rights and conservatism. We have strayed and neglected our responsibilities to be vocal laborers and protectors of our freedom. We must unite and dust off the Red, White and Blue that it may shine brighter than ever before. Our Fore Fathers cherished and treasured the great truths of America and were proud of the Christian values they held. It’s time to go back to the land marks with a new spirit of march. May the great people of America, Democrats, Republicans, Independents take inventory of their lives, homes, communities and Country and take it back. God Bless America!

  14. awriddelsBIOT says:

    Mr. Beck …

If you are out there, I think “56″ is a number you could not reach if you sampled every single politician ( or aspiring) in the nation. D,R,I,L,R,C doesn’t matter, they are bought and paid for before the take their first political office in Podunk or BFE, corruption doesn’t come from Washington, corruption goes to Washington. …

The more corrupt you are the faster you get to washington and the longer you stay, kinda like a corruption magnet…

A politician becomes a politician because they want their turn at the traugh, and the only way to end this cycle to to remove the slop. Set every politician salary at the national average and keep their finances under a microscope for their entire tenure and for years after and TERM LIMITS

    • andreaen says:

You have hit the nail on the head. Franklin warned against offering power and profit in one job. He said that politicians should view their service more as a calling not a profession.
Maybe we should start by asking if there is just one honest man in Washington. If the others see that the Country supports honesty, more will be willing to stand up or repent of their past. Or we can always find new ones.
Cheney may anger a lot of people, but I admire that fact that he refused a salary, much like the Founding Fathers did. I also think that if the person seeking a political position already is wealthy, it should be required that they not accept a salary, if they are not the national average should be applied. Their pensions should be done away with. Politicians should not be around long enough to earn a pension. After political life, get a job. Term limits would do away with career politicians. They should also be required to have the same health care that is offered to the military. I have had that for most of my life and think they would care for their veterans better if they had the same care.
You are dead right, take away the trough.

      • conservative6 says:

This is a good Idea why should a congressman or senator who serves a few years be ENTITLED to a lifetime pension.

  15. Caruso says:

Glenn, I think you are right in what we need to do, and partly right in how we need to do what we need to do. America was a Christian nation up until recently. The shift has been ongoing for a long time. The Lord is the reason why it has taken so long to come to this place in our nation. The goodness of the Lord has upheld what is right, but there is another event coming that has been foretold. The end of time. The Return of Christ and the judgment. Certain acts must take place, as bad as it sounds these things were foretold long ago that we might be mindful of them and avoid the wrath to come. Expecting the United States of America to prosper without God is asking for God to set aside his purpose and will. Repentance can be a national event, but usually it is a personal event. Jesus Christ is still able, but many are now unwilling. Their hearts having been hardened by sin, they seek the things of this world, not the one to come. While I don’t think we should throw up our hands and cry woe is me, it would help if believers began to pray nor a national revival. Why the 912 even will not ultimately succeed is because you are also right that we are focusing on the the wrong thing. And most likely we don’t know what to focus on, at least as far as this present world is concerned. Jesus said, If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

I tried that link, OGR, but got an Error 404 message. It is not un-American to disagree with authority. So it saddens me that Americans accept without challenge Beck’s attempt to dress up his 9 Principles in the clothing of the founding fathers – even more so when the 28 Principles of the founding fathers turns out to be a fiction created by Skousen. (although Skousen’s effort is far superior to the dumbed-down platitudes offered by Beck). The real problem with America is that even a buffoon garners respect and followers if he waves the flag and yells, “My country right or wrong’ loudly enough. The ‘Beckerwoods’ don’t even seem to appreciate the inconsistency of the man who moans about losing the ‘togetherness’ feeling of the immediate aftermath of 911 while at the same time leading the attacks on a new President who hasn’t yet been in office for a year! He’s just blowing the dog whistle and the dogs’ ears are perking up.

People why are we bickering? We should be working together to get the Corruption OUT of our government. Call me naive if you want but I still believe that at heart people are good and will stand up for what is right. I think we should stand up and start the search for 56 out of the 535 people in congress

” who understand that there’s an illness in D.C. and would like to do something about it, but just don’t know how or what to do.”

And offer them a way out. Just like the article says. I am ready to do this. I am willing to write letters, emails make calls. One voice is not enough we HAVE to work TOGETHER!

      Let’s find somewhere to start…

    • andreaen says:

Again, in your comments check your facts. Skousen is a Constitutional Scholar. He would be a great person to quote. His book is well referenced and footnoted.
This NEW President, with his hope and change, who in his short tenure has plunged us into debt that has far surpassed entire national debt to date, as well as unemployment. He has hired communist and attacked the very people who’s job it was to keep us safe. He has passed out vast amounts of money to corrupt organizations (ACORN, Apollo Alliance and the NEA) who are basically there to do his bidding and support his fascist agenda.
Thomas Jefferson said it is our duty to be whistle blowers and to encourage others (the people) to be whistle blowers. If the nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. (Ford, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 10:4)
No other sure foundation can be devised for the preservation of freedom and happiness …. Preach…a crusade against ignorance; establish and improve the law for educating common people. Let our countrymen know that the people alone can protect us against these evils [of misgovernment]. (Bergh,Writing of Thomas Jefferson 5:396-97.)
There is another quote I can’t find that says it is our duty to make sure that our elected officials maintain their integrity and are upholding the Constitution.
If you hate the flag and our country, might I suggest Cuba. Many progressives find it is a bastion of great healthcare with an intelligent leader/founder.
As for 9/11 and/or 9/12, we need to remember what happened and what we felt and again if you have a problem with that, Cuba would love you.

Lownico – With all due respect the link you are looking for is under the mission statement on the side of the page. Also why does everything need to be so diificult, if you don’t agree with Glenn’s 9 Principles then that is your choice. It’s great that we can agree to disagree!

    • andreaen says:

I think you are missing the point. Lownico is more concerned with the religious beliefs of Americans than what they say. Lownico’s religious bigotry has allowed him/her to missed the whole part of the nation’s founding beliefs that deal with religious freedom.
Some people live to disagree. Some people just love to put out volumes of liberal tripe. They don’t want stimulating debate, they want to muddy the waters.

  19. Lownico says:

I’ve been reading your 9 Principles of Liberty. They appear to have a loose relationship to the so-called ‘28 Principles of the Founding Fathers’, which I find were actually constructed by a Canadian-born Mormon former Sherrif and FBI agent named Cleon Skousen – not by the founding fathers at all! Fancy that! Now because this website has no current working link to these 9 Principles, I hope you won’t mind if I reproduce them here:

    1. America is good.
    2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
    3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
    4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
    5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
    6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
    7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
    8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
    9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

I think it would be really useful for patriots to have a debate about these principles, because let’s face it, there are some grey areas. for example, if I should be divorced from my wife (od forbid), which of us is becomes the ultimate authority if we disagree over what church junior should attend?

Is it important that I worked hard for what I have? If I got it from my dead relatives, should I share what I have. Or is the ‘hard work’ bit unnecessary, so we could re-state principle 7 as “I will share what I have with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable”.

If government answers to me, but I want it to behave in a way you disagree with, who should the government respond to, me or you? Should they let us fight it out between ourselves?

Do you have any objective evidence for the existence of God?

Looking forward in anticipation and hope of a wonderful and stimulating debate of the issues.

Obviously you have read the 5000 Year Leap, or at least skimmed it. If you have, you know that the person and people who contributed to that book where extensive Constitution scholars. They sited all of their references for their quotes. Some of our founders were not born American. I feel shame that it took a Canadian to expose the truth of our nation, God Bless him.You left out his stellar academic career, 13 years as university professor, authored 23 books including 6 college texts including the national best seller, The Naked Communist. He was also the founder of the National Institute of Constitutional Studies. To me this sounds like a person who devoted his life to this country and should be admired not castigated. Your opening statement sounds very condemning and bigoted.
The whole point of the book and this site it so try to return this Country to what the Founding Fathers set up. Like it our not religious freedom is at the base of what drove the Founding Fathers. They cited Cicero and other philosophers who acknowledged Natural law, the basis of which is there is a Deity. That is what the author and Glen Beck are supporting. Their religion is not on trial, nor should it be. Using the 5000 Year Leap as a foundation for a group that wants to save the Constitution and the Nation should be lauded not criticized.

If 2 of mine didn’t post- how many others aren’t? Seems strange. nbw

  21. kkaela says:

I disagree the problem is corruption. Sure there is some but I think the problem is our increasing lack of civility and towards one another. All the real tv and media biasness is telling us to let it all hang out and we’re turning into a “Me me me” society! I mean look at the trend in our clothes in just the last 20 years. It’s okay to wear bras in public for christ sakes.
We need to respect one another and learn to embrace our differences. We need to stop pointing fingers at people when they don’t agree with us (and playing the race card!)
There are some good things about Obama. He’s making us pay attention to the political arena. I’ve never cared about what was going on in Congress before now. He set himself up for this with his Change platform. Change to most of us (especially republicans turned democrats) meant stop spending what you don’t have. Now he doesn’t want to live up to his promise there will be hell to pay.

Term limits, take the money out of the equation, forcefull, constant independent investigations. We should demand a complete shut down of government. We will discover that we will not melt without them. During the shut down they should halt all tax collection. We are allowing them to legally rob from us! Angry! You bet I’m angry! Aren’t they embarassed that their approval rating is so low! My god my heads gonna pop!

    • Justin Batson says:

We wouldn’t “melt” without a government? Hahaha, we would be overthrown in a matter of weeks. The big bad government, as out of control as it may be, protects us from a lot of threats. Yes, we need to address the corruption, and stop the bickering between parties…but don’t you dare think for a second that we don’t need our government just as much as they need us.

A government is necessary to maintain order in a country. You can’t just let 300 million people govern themselves. The very idea is laughable, angry man.

  25. aleida123 says:

What is the standard for admission of submitted comments? Beck goes on and on about how dissent is part of what makes America great. Why is there no dissent on this forum? I guess all of America is in agreement with Glen Beck!

Glen, I know you couldn’t see my thank you sign at the DC rally on Saturday because I couldn’t get close enough to the stage, so thanks. You should know people were there from all over the country. I met and talked to a lady who flew in from California Friday night just for the rally and was flying back on Saturday night or Sunday. Also a gentleman I met took the train down from Maine by himself just for the rally. So people are waking up.

  27. DMJ says:

The corruption is the biggest challenge we face. How do we the people fight back when it is big money, special interest, lobbyists that are running the government?
I am NOT a Democrat or a Republican and I am sick of hearing if I don’t agree with a far left liberal that I am some far right nut job!
I was appalled to see CNN focus on some signs I have never seen at tea party and a man with a rifle in an attempt to claim these are the type of people that were in DC yesterday. They went over the edge when they tried to make the issue one of race. Oh please stop with the race card.
I was raised in the Navy and my Husband served 20 years in the Navy. If you would like to see real diversity check out the military. We are ONE family and that family is NOT RACIST or SEXIST! Congress should use the military for a model of diversity.
I wish I could have been in DC yesterday I just hope this keeps on growing and we can find ways to expose the corruption and demand answers.
Thank you Glen for bringing so many of us together. We are NOT alone anymore.

  28. Lownico says:

You want to deal with corruption? Deal with political campaign financing. These clowns are owned well before they get to Washington. But it would be ’socialist’ to stop Halliburton or News Corporation from giving money to politicians, wouldn’t it? On healthcare, anyone who thinks the U.S. system is the best in the world ought to have a bit of a look around. Australia, for example, has a healthcare system (funded by a levy of 1.5% of taxable income) which leaves the U.S. system for dead. But that would be socialist too, wouldn’t it? Maybe it is too much to ask rich America to share access to the dialysis machine with poor America. It’s easy to give someone the shirt off your back if you have a drawer full of them back home. Perhaps health care is too big to chew, and America should start with a universal dental scheme. Good basic dental care can prevent many more significant and costly health care problems down the track. Maybe it is not the size of government that’s the problem. Maybe America itself is too big to achieve a consensus on anything anymore. Perhaps the American project has just collapsed under its own weight?

    • andreaen says:

If you feel that America (it is a Republic, not a project) is collapsing under it’s own weight, maybe we need to cut back the heavy government bureaucracy. If we cut back government, we would not need all the taxing.
Again this is about ACORN, the government propaganda agent. The government redistribution agent.
You keep referring to socialist systems. I repeat, go to Cuba, they would love you. Take what you have and let them redistribute it to their nation. You would then get all the free healthcare you could ever want. They probably have dental also, it would be called pulling teeth.
Speaking of political finance corruption, what about BHO’s vast amounts of money contributed by disposable credit cards?

  29. kmdudley says:

Glen great job! I look forward to next week’s shows. I am hopeful you will have suggestions and tasks that we can implement. It is time we STAND UP to the BIAS Media too, they are active participants in this deception and corruption. We attended a 912 Project Tea Party for the first time in Denver. There were around 4000 in attendance during the daytime event. I have never done this before. I was outraged that an event this large earned no Media Coverage, except for FOX. Ironically, the Denver Post building overlooked the event. But apparently they are blind to the events. I attended these rallies to see the truth. What I found was that apparently the National and worse local media feel by ignoring the truth, not reporting at all they can promote the lies of our government.

The silence of the media “SPOKE LOUD AND CLEAR” to both my wife and I. We will now become VERY active in unseating these politicians and the corrupt media. We will organize for the elections of 2010 to unseat any member of the House or Senate, from both parties if they Vote to spend One More DIME of our money and increase One More DIME to the Dept.

Take it VIRAL, and inundate Congress with PINK SLIPS!!

    • Justin Batson says:

The tea party movement is not as big as Fox makes it out to be, and that’s exactly their goal – to make it seem like EVERYONE is revolting. The majority do not agree with what you folks are doing. We’re with you in spirit, but labeling our president a socialist, marxist, fascist, and comparing him to hitler, is absolutely disgusting and the sort of garbage that has no place in legitimate politics. If you want to help rebuild the country, offer your intelligent ideas and proposals. If you want to use our leader as a scape goat to hide your ignorant fear, then YOU can leave America, not the liberals.

      • stoneking says:

How can you “…not agree with what you folks are doing…” and yet be with them in spirit?

I do agree that name calling does not advance understanding.

I’m not so sure that being concerned about the changes this administration wants to put in place can be considered “ignorant” fear.

      • Mark says:

I’m a registered democrat & I voted for Obama but I didn’t vote for all this out of control spending and corruption. This isn’t about politics or about democrats vs republicans! We have A corrupt government and we’ve needed change for years but we’ve just gone from one out of control administration to another out of control administration and a lot of us are so sick and tired of it!!!!!!!! I don’t know why so many people can’t grasp this simple concept! It’s like they are just stuck on stupid or something. and I do watch FOX news simply because it reports news that other media outlets don’t report on.
I do like Glenn Beck because he isn’t “Political Party” oriented. This is a bi-partisan movement period!

      • Justin Batson says:

“How can you “…not agree with what you folks are doing…” and yet be with them in spirit?”

The spirit of protest is good. The way in which you people conduct protests, however, is not. It’s pretty simple, I don’t know why you’re having trouble understanding.

“I’m not so sure that being concerned about the changes this administration wants to put in place can be considered “ignorant” fear.”

Once again, it’s not a matter of concern, or even healthy debate – it’s a case of bigotry, slander, and misinformation. First, you guys ranted about death panels. That turned out to be stupid, so you then turned on Van Jones. Well, as small as he was in the administration, he’s gone. Now it’s about immigrants, despite the COMPLETE WILLINGNESS of democrats to engage in discussion over how to keep them out of the taxpayer’s pockets.

Republicans find whatever dramatic and fear-inspiring information they can, and distribute it through Fox to turn the people against the government and our leader. It’s funny, all of you think you’ve “woken up” and that your eyes are open…when really, you’ve been deceived by the best of entertainers.

      • andreaen says:

Wow, you are really funny. Calling people Hitler….. It was just fine when the radical progressives kooks called Bush Hitler, had him on a national magazine as the joker, made the Obama joker poster because he was not radical enough, made a movie about assassinating him and wrote a book about the same.
Hillary Clinton says “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration that somehow you’re not patriotic. And we should stand up and say ‘We are Americans and we have a right to disagree with any administration.’”
The radical progressives wrote the book on “the sort of garbage that has no place in legitimate politics”, fear mongering, violent activism and the politics of personal destruction.
America is a Republic founded on freedom and liberty. If you don’t like that Cuba would love you. We agree with the founding fathers.

“The spirit of protest is good. The way in which you people conduct protests, however, is not. It’s pretty simple, I don’t know why you’re having trouble understanding.”

I am sorry if our protest is peaceful. We are not like the radicals. This is a link to your type of protest.

  31. SteveG says:

You are correct about corruption in our government. Tell us how to start the “American” party and do away with the DEM & REP’s. How can ordinary citizens make a difference when government is no longer by & for the people? How can we keep them from turning their heads away and ignoring us as they do now? How do we get someone that loves power and is only concered in lining their own pockets to change? It is going to be like trying to get the politicians to put term limits on themselves, as long as the politicians are puppets nothing will ever get done. A person would think, all the politicians would put their petty differences aside to save our country. Unfortunately, they are only looking out for themselves.

The following is an excerpt from “The Theory is Now a Conspiracy And Facts Don’t Lie” by JB Williams, Thursday, September 10, 2009. The evidence shows an unprecedented fraud that is corruption of the utmost.

In politics or law, an agreement by two or more persons to commit a crime, fraud, or other wrongful act, is a “conspiracy.” Not in theory, but in reality.

    Such is the case today!

A political national committee, the Chair of the Party convention, the Secretary of the Party, Party offices in each of fifty states, and maybe many – many more, have knowingly and wantonly defrauded the American election system and more than 300 million American citizens.

They plotted and planned an act of evil, unlawful, treacherous fraud in a blind quest for unbridled political power, and they hoped that you would never catch it. They almost got away with it too…

    Glenn,

I haven’t agreed with you on many subjects. But, I totally agree that we should get rid of political labels and get to work solving the problems of this nation.

  35. chibol says:

I believe this administration is making a blatant effort to ignore the 9/12ers, tea party people and the thousands of Americans voicing their concerns.
I am disgusted that this president cannot even acknowledge this large portion of the population, who by the way, are hard working, tax paying citizens.
He should treat us all equal, as he said he would in his campaign, and be president to ALL of us.
To me, he is dividing this country even more than it is now. He is showing the children a bad example in my opinion. He is displaying an ignorant disregard for Americans who love their country.
    Shame on them.

  36. chibol says:

The country will collapse if the corruption is not stopped first.

  37. Justin Batson says:

I’m happy that so many people could gather for a cause. It’s patriotic and wonderful.

The problem, however, is that Glenn Beck never provides real solutions to what’s being protested. All you hear is “Stop the corruption!” and “Unite against socialism!” but what proposals has Beck come up with to combat Obamacare? He sure can dish out criticism and insults, but where are his worthwhile contributions towards reshaping the country? He calls for a takedown of corruption, but offers very little as to how that needs to happen, and what needs to happen afterward.
“Everyone make signs and meet up on this day at this place, in the name of America!…what? After that? Well, keep watching my show, that’s what!”

When you rile up a bunch of frightened Americans and tell them to resist corruption, without identifying what (civil) actions must be taken to get rid of that corruption, you only unleash an army of misinformed and stubborn people that will eat up whatever scary stories the media tells them.

Healthcare reform is GOOD. There are specifics that need to be worked out, the most important of which being how do we pay for it, but in the grand scheme of things this HAS to happen, one way or the other. The country will collapse otherwise.

    • chibol says:

      Justin
The country will collapse if the corruption is not stopped first.

      • Justin Batson says:

That is completely untrue. The country has been corrupt during both good and bad times, while the danger we face with healthcare is unprecedented.

Also, healthcare is a part of the corruption.

      • Behunin91 says:

Maybe instead of asking for what to do, we need to figure out what to do. Glen Beck is giving us the info. Now we need to act on it. Don’t put down Beck for our incapability to act. haha.

  38. bringhomethepoliticians.com says:

This Health Care Bill is obviously the big priority right now, but it’s important that instead of just shouting “NO!” that a simple and powerful solution accompanies that NO like modeling health insurance after our successfull car insurance model by breaking up state insurance monopolies that will allow competition to:

    1) Lower Costs, 2) Improve Care, 3) CREATE JOBS!!!, 4) Not cost TRILLION$, BILLION$, or even MILLION$ in taxpayer money, just a simple bill removing the obstructive legislation that even a Congressperson can read.

Then you let them know that there’s a growing movement to put them all on permanent Recess called “Bring Home The Politicians” that calls for relocating US Reps & Sens to our State Capitals and State Reps & Sens to our City Halls/Courthouses to securely telecommute for no less than 75% of their terms while WE SURROUND THEM!

This plan works constitutionally on both the state and federal level.

God bless you Glenn Beck! I had the pleasure of watching your 912 show with other Omaha Project 912 folks and it was hard to contain our collective admiration for your wonderful work as well as the outrage with the corruption within and around our federal government.

Your work on both radio and TV have been nothing short of ground breaking. It is appalling to witness the apathy (at best) or conspiracy (at worst) of the mainstream press in failing to perform their journalistic duty in participating in exposing the radical left’s infiltration and influence in ‘remaking America’.

You are the ‘tip of the sword’ Glenn…please know there are millions of us praying and encouraging you on. Keep on keeping on Glenn!

I wanted to say thank you Glenn for all that you do! I watched Fox News on 9-12 and all of the Patriotic Americans voicing their concerns, it made me proud to be an American! What concerned me was the lack of or no coverage from other News stations! What are they afraid of? I am glad there is Fox News because they tell the truth. This includes no coverage from other News stations regarding Acorn and this was a major story!

  42. janiejune says:

Be sure you actually have the truth. It’s good and right to question your government, be sure to question your news sources too.. especially if they are all getting their very large paychecks from the same corporation. If you want your government to not be influenced by large corporations.. work for true campaign finance reform.

  43. vetgal says:

While I’m all forgiveness, I’m afraid too many politicans are like convicts. They have these ‘come to Jesus’ moments whenever they are up for re-election, we fall for it and they jump right back into the cesspool. I am cynical yes, but when you are ‘represented’ by the likes of George Voinovich, it is hard to be otherwise.

    • Phill says:

Luckily, that dirt-bag (I read somewhere) isn’t running for reelection. Your mention of that idiot reminded me that he used to be our governor (I live in Columbus) and that next year, John Kasich is running for that office. John is a good man (I’ve known him for the past 35 years) and urge you to support him. (sorry about the ‘ad’, but like I said .. he’s a good dude).

    • Unfortunately – I have to agree with you. There are some politicians who would confess that they killed Kenny to get re-elected. Combine that with the fact that we the people have our own prejudices (not necessarily bad ones, but the fact that we may disagree with their overall ideology) that could make it equally difficult to make an objective decision. The fact is that some of us will not be represented at all. As a Libertarian, I can count on one hand – with many fingers missing – about how many libertarians there are in Congress.
I think that we have to look at their complete record – past and present – to determine their REAL motivations. If they are conflicted? Sorry, dude, “You’re Fired!”
      JMHO

  44. DavidMZuniga says:

    Dear “bring home the politicians”,

I beg to differ with you on two counts, though I applaud your work for this republic, and your original thinking, “outside the box”. Bless you for it!

I agree that making members of Congress sit at a new desk, away from their cronies and closer to home, is certainly better than allowing them to daily conspire in D.C. together — it won’t change human nature, nor will it reform the present system of legislation, administration, and adjudication in our federal creature government’s operations. They can conspire by internet as easily as if they’re together in D.C.

But We The People can play that game, too, you see! An informed, self-governing, tactically wise population can right the ship of state, whenever we decide to do so. I believe Glenn Beck is truly the Thomas Paine of our era; God has prepared that brother to go to the wall for truth and liberty — just as Paine did in his time. The dangers are just as real today, and I thank God that He has put it in Glenn’s heart, to “speak truth to wickedness”, come what may.

Google “Federalist #28″, and read what Alexander Hamilton — Mr. Big Government himself — said was the perogative of the States and the People, whenever our federal creature should become imperious and overweening. We still have this power and perogative, still today.

That is the key aspect of the AmericaAgain! Project. The other two wings on our tactical plan are enacting OUR legislation — (14) specific reforms to recover our Constitution and clip Congress’ wings — and taking Tax Honesty to scale.

  45. tinamarie says:

Glenn although I totally agree with you on the “give them a break” and let them “confess” opportunity, I am still a bit sceptical and distrusting myself. I am 100% in support of accountability and honesty, but it seems everyone always holds “something” back. You open this up to using a “sliding scale of morality” when you try to get politicians to become something they are just not used to being and then how much honesty can we really handle without becoming judgemental? How MUCH do we really need to know? How MUCH can be forgiven? These are all very tough questions. Everyone has his/her own agenda when entering politics and you are right, they have a hard time standing for what they believe in after a while.. I think that is just a job hazard. Kind of like falling off a roof is for a roofer? I personally believe that in today’s fast passed technological world 90% of our problems result from poor or lack of communication and so many preconceived notions. I learned something big at the rally yesterday and it had nothing to do with the thousands of people I witnessed. It had to do with a small hispanic group having some sort of rally surrounded by caution tape. Some of them I believe were illegal immigrants. I would love to share this experience with you and others at another time. If you do get results from this goal of “new patriot leaders” I would strongly suggest some serious discussion about communication and the tools we as a large multi cultural nation use to communicate as a major component of this. All the good intentions in the world are worthless if communication is faulty..

I have been trying to find this out. I just see general philosophies of Freedom, and anti-Obamaism.. and no new taxes….
I see people who are against lots of things.. but what – in concrete terms.. what do you want? What.. specifically do you think Obama lied about.. have you read anything that gives you other people’s points of view? How — specifically do you think you can change things? What are you doing that specifically makes your lives or the lives of other Americans better? Asking for lower taxes sounds pretty selfish.. besides… Obama has given you lower taxes, unless you’re making over $200,000.
If you want to see the real Glenn Beck and what an opportunist he is…click on the link below… listen to 10 seconds of John Stewart.. and watch all of the Glenn Beck videos… don’t stop at the first video.. it’s a little over 3 minutes long. Glenn has’nt “changed”.He has ,however researched and educated himself and spread that information on to us.You obviously don’t pay attention or listen often enough.Obama has not only raised taxes through the deficit spending and decietful”changing” of our government but raised unemployment to 15%+…I personally work in the construction industry..We could half that # if we just enforce our already in place immigration laws and get rid of 20,000,000 invaders..The problem is systemic..starting at the level of family..it is broken there and that is exactly where I am starting. To be even more simplistic it starts with your and my “soul”…that must be healed, reconnected to God Almighty and we have a shot at getting somewhere from there..Whomever you are just ask yourself 1 thing….If I died right now..What would I have to answer for ?….of course if you don’t believe in the Almighty..you have a whole other ,by far worse ,set of problems…

      • pctrwow24 says:

I pay attention quite often, and have paid attention for quite a long time.

Immigration.. how does it affect you? Immigrants can only take American jobs if someone employs them.. They won’t come over the border if no one employs them.. who’s doing the employing?

We all need to work together to help find the answer .. not look for the black and white; it’s never that easy… Looking for the villain and the reason to hate.. has never been the answer… Can we work together to find the problems and the answers. Yes, we all need to start with our families and talk about what we feel is right and do the right thing.

The taxes haven’t been raised through Obama’s deficit spending. I don’t agree with 100% of what Obama has done. The deficit spending didn’t start with Obama, the unnecessary Iraq war with all of its unnecessary spending .. including the payments to the the contractors such as KBR gave us a good start. The economy hasn’t his this point because of 9 months of Obama.. Look at a combination of what several of the economists of different stripes say. How did the coporate and Wall Street Corruption get so bad? How has that affected all of us? Lack of oversight by weakening of Glass-Steagall – by Clinton…

The protestors in Washington yesterday seemed to have no focus … They aren’t making a helpful point.. except that they are afraid of something…

      • USgranny says:

Patriot58, I have to agree with you, but there is something else this pctwow24 asking. It’s not about hate; it’s about love for our country. You have to ask yourself this, “would you perfer to live in a country where your freedoms are infringed upon? or would you rather live free?” As Nathan Hale once said, “I only regret I have but one country to die for.” IT’S ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION and OUR LIBERTIES. It’s not only Obama. It’s corruption throughout all of Congress. I have a Congressmen, Rick Larson, who believes the Constitution is merely tradition. He told me so in a letter. When I wrote back to him and asked him to clearify himself, he never responded. You should go to one of the tea parties and learn for yourself. I’ve always believed in learning about something frist hand rather than simply listening to someone else tell it as it might be. These corrupt politicians will tell you what they want to hear and do something different. While they are doing what they want, they are dividing our country by screaming deomcrat and republican. You might want to do some research yourself, and stop trying to shot the messanger. Glenn Beck is only the messanger. If you really want to learn, listen to the facts Glenn offers and then research them yourself. That’s how you learn what is fact and what isn’t. Hope this helps you.

Federal gasoline tax that will cause gasoline prices to “skyrocket” so we don’t travel as much thereby forcing you to give up your trucks, SUVs, sport cars, and family vans and getting tiny little hybrid vehicles that use less energy. I GUESS ONLY THE VERY WEALTHY WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO DRIVE BIGGER VEHICLES……….
How about your power and natural gas bills????? When they double your family can huddle under blankets and by candle light ! I GUESS THIS WILL BRING FAMILY’S CLOSER TOGETHER.
How about goods and services that use fuel like public transportation? IS $500.00 PER MONTH A FAIR PRICE FOR A BUS PASS OR METRO TICKET???????
Now you say that OBAMA isn’t going to TAX poor and middle class??????????? WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!

What, very specifically, do you all.. who want to march on Washington for the September 12 want?

On his broadcast Saturday afternoon, I really believe Glenn has it 100% right .. I sincerely believe we need to start this country over .. and I also sincerely believe We the People need to start over right now, rather than wait until the next elections during November, 2010.

My internal belief is that we need to start over with a clean slate of Senators and Representatives. Glenn used the magic number = 56 because that is the count of signatures on the Declaration of Independence. He publicly called for 56 honest men and women on Capitol Hill to stand up and shout “Enough!”.

What Glenn did not say, and I really believe he should have, is that these 56 people may have to risk everything, including their lives and the lives of their families because the “entrenched” politicians will not easily vacate their power base.

Because I totally reject violence, I really do not know how these 56 are to accomplish the re-constitution of our Republic … other than prayer .. and believe me, prayer is our absolutely most powerful weapon. But whatever we do, we must do it right now (September, 2009) and not wait one more moment. In my considered judgment, delay will result in failure, i.e., deeper entrenchment of the seated politicians.

    Thanks for listening.

What I will always remember is that the local rallies throughout this country were all united in the single cause of letting DC know that we are tired of the abuse! Glenn, I know the statistical chance of you seeing this is next to nil, but Stu or whoever else on staff, please look at the AmericaAgain! project proposal that arrived via UPS on Monday 8/24, addressed to Stu. It is for Glenn, but we wanted Stu to vet it first. Not to take anything away from the 9/12 Project at all; only to say that the AmericaAgain! Project is a 3-pronged citizen self-government mechanism designed to continue, in every active citizen’s household — from now on. PROACTIVE, peaceful, lawful, multi-faceted citizen self-government through:
    1) An ongoing, perennial, 535-front enforcement of the Constitution; State Court indictment of members of Congress for civil and criminal violation of the US Constitution specifically under the Supremacy Clause, and with the State NOT being a party (so federal courts can’t get original or appellate jurisdiction); 2) We The People will draft and push through passage of (14) critical reforms…OUR legislation, not theirs; 3) we take Tax Honesty to scale; not the hokey “tax protestor” theories and scams but honest, law-abiding Tax Honesty (as outlined on the ‘Tax Honesty Primer’; just Google it) — to cut federal revenues enough to slow the spoiled teenager down from destroying our “home”!

Please, please Glenn…look at the proposal we have sent you. We’re happy to send another if you need it, or to answer any detailed questions on tactics, legal principles, legislative strategy, etc…

There’s an AmericaAgain! FAQ at (triple ‘w’ dot) america-again (dot) blogspot (dot) com, and a copy of the entire AmericaAgain! Declaration. We stand ready to answer any concerns you may have. PLEASE…this is the TEETH for ten million watchdogs (or even 25 million)…it’s the RESET button for our Constitution. Read Federalist #28; that’s all we propose. PLEASE look at it, Glenn!!

It’s certainly an interesting idea. The issue is like other ideas out there you need to get past the bureacratic barrier that gets in the way of making such a push possible.

Might I suggest you check out our site http://bringhomethepoliticians.com we’re not a policy so much as a strategy to implement policies like FAIR TAX, TERM LIMITS, etc. they don’t stand a chance normally, which is why BRING HOME acts as a full back that punches a whole through their “defensive line” so your idea (the running back) has an opportunity to pickup yardage and make it to the end zone.

  60. MarkR says:

Glenn, you are so right about corruption. You do not hear much about this, but we should ask ourselves these questions of both parties. Why do Senators and Congresspeople spend millions to get elected to a job that pays a few hundred thousand? Second, why did we just witness a presidential election where combined the candidates spent a billion dollars to get elected to a job that pays just a little more than that. I think there is only one reason. The payoff. Keep up the good work. You are on to something important. Let’s get back to the original intent of our founders and the constitution.

There will be large groups of Americans stepping out of the fog with many questions. We all need to show them how to find the answers on their own. Is it equally offensive to you that corruption is rampant in our state and federal capitals or that 53 million dollars of taxpayer money has gone to an association that is responsible for 400,000 fraudulent election ballots and so chock full of corruption and fraud that its representatives would advise a prostitute on how to cheat on her tax return or that your president finds the Constitution of the United States fundamentally flawed or that a high appointee in his administration believes that the U.S. government was somehow responsible for the 911 deaths or that A.C.O.R.N. stands to benifit to the tune of 8.5 billion dollars more from the simulus package that many of their lobbyists helped to pen? OFFENSIVE? You have no idea!

If you would listen to Glenn Beck with an honest heart, that is to be teachable, and not to attack but to learn, you might then be able to comprehend the truth about the situation this country is in, and realize we need to do something to restore the government back to the way it should be in order to retain our liberty, freedom, and ability to protect ourselves from oppression.

I read Fredosso’s book last May based on my uneasy perceptions of BHO. After the first few chapters my suspicions were confirmed. This president is a Senator/Community Organizer with a blank check and is ready to spend without concern.

Got to get rid of him AND his cronies….by that I mean make him a LAME DUCK PRES in 2010. Clinton was smart and went with the flow (literally in the Oval office with the intern and the cigar) but this president will IMPLODE when he can no longer get his way and I suspect will damage the Democratic party for 10 years to come provided conservatives can produce viable candidates. Which brings me to another issue. Since Ms. Palin seems to THE most polarizing target of the libs, perhaps SHE should run for Pres or as a running mate for Pawlenty.

BRING HOME calls for relocating US Reps & Sens to our State Capitals and State Reps & Sens to our City Halls/Courthouses to securely telecommute for no less than 75% of their terms while WE SURROUND THEM.

Both the US Constitution and several state Constitutions allow for this idea since they don’t set requirements on how often Congresses have to meet in their capitals.

This idea works as a fullback to bust through the bureaucratic blockade to allow ideas like FAIR TAX, TERM LIMITS, etc. to finally have a chance at getting implemented.

You’re a warmonger! You want to poison people and starve children.” Bu this is the same guy who recently called the president a racist, is he not?

I also find it offensive that he is exploiting 9/11 for his own commercial purposes, particularly because he is notorious for having made these comments about 9/11 victims: “… you know it took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims’ families? Took me about a year. And I had such compassion for them, and I really wanted to help them, and I was behind, you know, ‘Let’s give them money, let’s get this started.’ All of this stuff. And I really didn’t — of the 3,000 victims’ families, I don’t hate all of them. Probably about 10 of them. And when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I’m just like, ‘Oh shut up!’ I’m so sick of them because they’re always complaining. And we did our best for them. And, again, it’s only about 10.
“But the second thought I had when I saw these [Katrina] people and they had to shut down the Astrodome and lock it down, I thought: I didn’t think I could hate victims faster than the 9-11 victims.”

So remind me again, who is doing the hating? Or is Mr. Beck just the kind of guy who capitalizes on people’s genuine worries to whip them into a froth while making money hand over fist?

For a “grassroots” event, today’s rally sure featured a lot of corporate lobbyists as speakers. It’s always sad to see Americans duped….

Which members of the senate, house and administration came out today to hear the people who drove hundreds of miles and sacrificed to come to 9-12 gatherings today? I don’t know the answer to that, but I am guessing it was very few.

  70. FreeThinker912 says:

Your segment on corruption was stunning. I had the Great A-Ha about the root of the problems in our country being corruption a few weeks ago. From Wikipedia:

Political corruption is the use of legislated powers by government officials for illegitimate private gain. Misuse of government power for other purposes, such as repression of political opponents and general police brutality, is not considered political corruption. Neither are illegal acts by private persons or corporations not directly involved with the government. An illegal act by an officeholder constitutes political corruption only if the act is directly related to their official duties.

All forms of government are susceptible to political corruption. Forms of corruption include bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. While corruption may facilitate criminal enterprise such as drug trafficking, money laundering, and human trafficking, it is not restricted to these organized crime activities. In some nations, corruption is so common that it has gained normative status. The end point of political corruption is a kleptocracy, literally “rule by thieves.”

The activities that constitute illegal corruption differ depending on the country or jurisdiction. Certain political funding practices that are legal in one place may be illegal in another. In some countries, government officials have broad or poorly defined powers, and the line between what is legal and illegal can be difficult to draw.
Bribery around the world is estimated at about $1 trillion, and the burden of corruption falls disproportionately on the bottom billion people living in extreme poverty.

Then we will have alot more to pay because of cap and tax (trade) and Obama said that on the trail of lies that he spewed. Nancy was going to drain the swamp, she better not drain it because she is a living part of that swamp one of the biggest bottom feeders along with Rangel, Dodd, Biden, Frank to name just a few. When will someone stand beside Joe Wilson? My husband and I are both retired and struggling, we did however send Joe Wilson a donation to his campaign, we need him there, one of the few truth tellers in D.C.!

      • jaopfer says:

Good on you beenfield! Wilson is one of the decent ones and there aren’t many. Telling the truth in D.C. seems to be a bit like sprinkling holy water on the devil, all hell breaks loose.

So that he could say, “Oh, I never saw them (tea party)” A real leader would go out and acknowledge the group or send a spokesperson to give people an opportunity to be heard. ‘Nuff said.

Sice I knew the rats would desert the ship I faxed this to 20 of the LEAST desireable in DC today…

Because I cannot be in Washington, DC, on 9-12-09, I’m sending you this to tell you what I would say if I were there with the thousands of FREEDOM LOVING AMERICANS who ARE there.

I’m sure each of you will do your best to be elsewhere on Saturday so you don’t have to look upon the “little people” who have come to have their voice heard. I’m also sure you’ll never see this letter because you can’t be bothered with what the citizens of this country think. And, I KNOW I will NOT get a response from ANY of you. Furthermore, I’m sure the “major” networks won’t give but a few seconds coverage, if at all, to the voices of these people, other than to report that there were “300” in attendance when in reality the numbers were MUCH higher. They will also report that the crowds were racist, angry mobs. THAT statement would be PARTIALLY right, as there will be black, yellow and white people there who call themselves, republicans, democrats, libertarians, and independents. They will be young, old and all ages in between. And YES, they ARE angry, because the people we elected to represent us in Washington, DC, are NOT listening to us.

Most of you have children and some have grandchildren….so how can you sell them and their future down the river for your short-term pleasures of power? If you HATE this grand country so much, why don’t you move to a country that represents your “ideals” rather than TRY to destroy THIS great country?

I’m sure that today, each of YOU think that your ill-gotten millions, if not billions, of dollars will get you thru the coming years, while each of US sees our hard earned savings slipping away due to the communistic and socialistic bills you have passed. Your money may last thru YOUR life, but because of the debt you have imposed on this country, I hope you’ll be able to look your grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the eye and explain why THEY are living in poverty while the government chooses every aspect of their life.

Michelle Obama recently said that for the first time in her life she was proud to be an American. I can HONESTLY say I’ve ALWAYS been proud to be an American but, at this moment, I’m ashamed of it’s politicians and the greed and hate with which they are governing.

I also included my name, address and phone number
I expect we’ll audied this year. LOL!!!
Our son came over but said he was leaving because the house was probably bugged by then and the spy satellites were keeping watch on us. LOL!!!

      • This country is not a democracy. It is SUPPOSED to be a Constitutionally Limited Republic.
“Democracy is the road to socialism”–Karl Marx
Please get a copy of the United Nations Agenda 21.It is where all new regulations, code, and, laws come from. Our government signed onto Agenda 21 in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Riode Jenero.
The Emergency War Powers Act negates our Constitution.Contact your reps.and demand they get rid of that Act so we can go back under the protection of our Constitution.
Thanks for the GREAT show Glenn,

Ms. Maddows’ comment was absolutely ridiculous and MISSED THE POINT of 9/12. There are many “sour grapes” over at MSNBC and CNN. I watch Fox News now and am very grateful to Glenn Beck for what he is doing to help our country. I love this country and want it to get back to the principles of the Constitution. There has been corruption for a long time and it needs to be cleaned up. I am in this for the duration and for the rest of my life, I will stand up for the 9/12 principles and values and for helping the country we cherish so deeply. A sincere thank you to Glenn Beck and to all the Patriots who are trying to make a difference. America’s roots are based in Christianity and the current administration is NOT leading America in the right direction. We all need to “clean house” and get people in office who truly represent us with integrity and honor. Wishing you all much peace and many blessings…

How I wish I could have been in Washington DC today. I haven’t been on the site in quite a while and see that some things have changed, but thankfuly what not has changed is our mission to take our Country back. Glenn asked the question on Monday’s show what would it take, how can we spread the message? Well, I have always believed in the power of music and songs. My son wrote this song, and our band videotaped themselves playing it. We in no way are promoting violence by the choice of some of the words. If you like rock and roll, espically Southern Rock, please take a listen, the song speaks volumes, and all of the lyrics (except the chorus) were inspired by the events that we have all seenover the past few months. If this link doesn’t work it’s called “Heaven Help Me” by Mr.jacobleeA on you tube
