Remember Why We Were Attacked

BECK: Today, on 9/11, remember the victims, but also remember why we were attacked.

We were attacked by the enemies of freedom. What better way to remember the fallen than to build a tower named after the very thing they died for? To remind us of who they were and who we are.

I have noticed that this is not an actual forum. On websites that have online forums you can post a message and it does show up for all to see. On this website any and all messages are not posted online and then Fox news, 9-12/Glenn Beck gets to decide what gets posted online. Even “if” this message gets posted online, I would like to point out that anyone who posts a message online will NOT see their message online and IT WILL BE DELETED!!!

We support what you are doing, Beck. You have awakened so many people to what is going on, and I applaud you. I have talked to so many people that said your comments made them want to know for themselves what was going on, so they did the research themselves. The majority of the people realize you are not trying to force your opinions on others, you are trying to get them to research the matter themselves so that they can form their own opinions. You are raising the flag of concern and getting others to look into these things. I never take things that I hear as the truth unless I’ve done some research myself. Kudos to you for awakening so many people to stand up for what they believe. And, if you believe in something, you DO something about it. Peacefully, respectfully, legally, make your voices heard.

f*** all this “o we dont want to hurt any1’s feelings” thats bull. the rest of the world doesnt give a s*** about what we think and all they do is b***h about needing our help. u don’t see china or russia having second thoughts about building armies and killin s**t and worrying about other people’s intrests. We are Americans and we are hard a** MothaF*$%@# that dont take s^^t from no one. Now lets finish the job and get these B^*$#! (Al Queda)! GOD Bless America and Go Freedom!!!!!!!!!!

Refute the lies, even the administration refused to, Don’t just say propaganda and lies. Define propaganda: is it what you don’t belive in, refuse to accept, or know nothing about? That is not propaganda, its personal opinion or lack of information.

To all the people who are so full of hate:

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices, but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence and fulfills the duty to express the results of his thought in clear form.
Albert Einstein, quoted in New York Times, March 19, 1940
    US (German-born) physicist (1879 – 1955)

  6. FreeThinker912 says:

It was a moving segment. I am also angry that the pit is still there. Both towers should be rebuilt, taller than the first ones. 9-11-01 brought good people together but it also unleashed horrific evil. And the good people still need to become stronger and unit to battle that evil. The pit symbolizes the fear that immobilizes so many people right now and keeps the strong isolated. Glen, to you rally think that all the name calling people on this site came together with anyone on 9-12-01? No, they did not. They have never been patriots. Never.

  7. infoxrinated says:

thanks for all your lies and propaganda mr. beck

    • angeljenny55 says:

if you want lies and propaganda, read the New York Times or the Washington ComPost.
For the truth, listen to Beck and Fox News. Period.

        Beck’s show is entirely opinion.

Ignorance is bliss…I hope you open your mind to learn at least that our media is WAY more corrupt and crooked than our government has ever been.

      • Lownico says:

I’ve read angeljenny55’s other posts, including her bizarre comparisons of Obama and Adolph Hitler. None of which are substantiated by even a scintilla of evidence, but we are expected to accept them as her ‘mother lived in Germany before the war’. You think Beck has the truth? He certainly has the showmanship, the demagoguery. He has the capacity to inflame the emotions. He has the rhetorical skills. He has the power. He is the light. He has the truth. He even has a German name! Mein fuhrer! Deutchland, Deutchland uber alles! Oops….got a bit carried away there…Sorry! Maybe I should keep myself open to a range of views. Better have a cup of tea and a lie down now.

    • angeljenny55 says:

if you want lies and propaganda, tune into CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS. Read the NY Times and the Washington comPost.
For the truth, it’s Fox and Beck all the way.

      • stoneking says:

I appreciate the information Mr Beck brings to light on his show. I think Fox News gives the most air time to ‘experts’ from the left and the right.

      • TheWildDove says:

FOX won’t even air the President’s speeches anymore. Someone explain to me how that is “fair and balanced”? Because it sounds like partisan tantrum throwing to me.

GLEN LETS BUILD FREEDOM TOWERS all we need funds ps contrator wll come to NY LETTS GETer done

    • OneNationunderGod says:

Glenn, lets rebuild then twin Freedom Towers bigger, better, stronger and higher. I think we should name areas, court yards, sections and floors after the people that lost their lives that day. That way they will be remembered and honored daily by the millions of people that will visit or work in the towers. A way to publicly say, We will remember you and never forget and never again. No fear here. You can’t hold a good and determined, proud American down. We invented the saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” How do we pull together and get it going? It would help to fuel the economy by putting our valued contractors from all over the US back to work and it would be a great spiritual uplift to many.

  9. Glen_Becks_Cousin says:

    Oh, come on, Mr. Beck.

I thought you believed in First Amendment rights?

I have been censored for telling the truth. You took away one of my postings. I used no foul language; I called you no names, nor did I call anyone else a name. I do see that at least one person, probably more, have called you names, and their posts are still here.

So why did you delete my comment, which, by the way, did show up for a very short while…..so I know you received it?

I saw you last week that you said you will only deal with “facts” on your show. I was presenting facts about you.

So, again, I ask, why was I censored?

  10. FriendofGlenn says:

Glenn Beck: “And when I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I’m just like, “Oh shut up!” I’m so sick of them because they’re always complaining. And we did our best for them.”

To be fair, you said you only “hate” ten of the families who were victims of 9/11.

You should be ashamed of yourself. And now, you are exploiting the anniversary of this tragedy again, and even more grotesquely. Shame.

    • Glen_Becks_Cousin says:

      Well, FriendofGlenn.

I really hope your message stays because I have for a 2nd time been censored.

  11. bobwcornell says:

    Hi Glenn,
I am in love with your show and the issues that are disclosed. Keep up the good work.

You are so correct in saying that we were attacked on that terrible day of 9/11 because we were different and sought to maintain our way of life. Indeed freedom plays a very important role in sustaining our way. But is it possible that the following took place? The evidence would certainly lend credence to this line of thought.
You will be shocked when I state, I don’t feel that Osama Bin Laden was connected to what took place on 9/11.
No, I feel the evidence is too strong in favor of Saddam Hussein.
Why do I feel compelled to align myself in that direction?
Well two of our most recent presidents felt that it was their responsibility to bomb Iraq along with the British in
    which many innocents were killed.
Saddam said to himself ” how do I warn these Americans to keep away from my country.”
He pondered and pondered this question when suddenly he remembered the Oklahoma City Bombing.
This was also another act of terrorism in which the alleged perpetrators are totally innocent. They were/are
Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols in that respective order as McVeigh has been executed for his alleged role.
I feel that the perpetrators of this terrible crime was a middle eastern country, and again evidence will support this fact.
Well, Saddam had knowledge of this fact and that our “leaders” at that time knew that the whole episode of the OKC Bombing was a sham.
So he decided to use the OKC Bombing as a warning to America, “to keep away from my country ” through the events that transpired on 9/11.
No doubt by now you are saying, “O.K. how?”
Well the first answer to your question is that Timothy McVeigh was executed on 6/11.
“So what” you say. “That could, and probably is just coincidence.”
You could be correct until you take into account the plane that left Boston.
It left at exactly the time that Timothy McVeigh was executed. ( Note: McVeigh was in a prison that was on C.S.T. and that plane left on E.S.T.)
    Thus, the warning.
And also thus my theory, to which I hope you investigate.

    Many thanks,
    Bob Cornell

P.S. Nonetheless, I feel that what happened on 9/11 was devastating to America. I also feel that it was primarily motivated by American apathy.

  12. fantomenace says:

Glenn Beck, you are an idiot… Entertainment is not journalism… Journalism is not Entertainment! The shame of this country is that people like you have relegated journalism to sideshow attractions. You have no respect for America, you worship at the altar of the all-mighty $, and I hope that Americans will wake up and realize that there is no truth to what you produce.

    • emac2026 says:

I totally agree; however it doesn’t just stop with him. A large majority of fox news is like this. At times it is hard to tell if i am watching news or watching Entertainment tonight. I would say that i hope they would get it together but as long as people are willing to be drawn to flashy lights and idiotic rallys they will always have an audience.

  13. tyfal99 says:

This is the message Americans should be hearing from the leader of the free world. I thank God that Glenn Beck is capable of filling that inspirational void by writing and speaking from a patriotic heart–language a majority of Americans understand. Thank you Glenn. God Bless you, your family and staff–and–God, please continue to Bless America!

    • angeljenny55 says:

Amen! Glenn Beck started it, but it’s time for the rest of us to help him. He can’t do it by himself. Let’s get out there, so that Glenn doesn’t have to fear for his family anymore. Let’s do some ‘political surgery’ and get the ‘cancer’ out of American politics forever.

  14. Political Scientist says:

This is what actually happened on 9/11/01:

THREE (3) buildings of the WTC, 2 of 110 stories high each, the third 47 stories, were PULVERIZED in less than ELEVEN (11) SECONDS each.

Only TWO (2) were hit by planes.
The third “auto-destructed”, in an obviously controlled demolition.

It takes MONTHS to prepare such demolition.

No “Arabs” were allowed access, particularly in WTC 7, where the CIA, DOD, US Secret Service, SEC, IRS, INS, and others had major offices.

WHO had authorized access, to permit the planting of the nano-thermite explosives (highly advanced US military product) recently discovered in the WTC ruble by international scientists??

There are NO available films showing ANY planes hitting the Pentagon, probably the world’s most protected building, because the FBI confiscated ALL the videos from all the CCTV cameras around the Pentagon.

The world’s most powerful military was totally NEUTRALIZED, according to the US Gov’s implausible official conspiracy theory, by “19 Arabs armed with $1 box cutters, directed by a guy from a cave in Afghanistan”.

What a waste of TRILLIONS of US$$ on “homeland defense”!! A FRAUD??

Why didn’t NORAD intercept the high-jacked planes in nearly TWO (2) hours? TREASON??

FBI’s “Wanted” poster for Bin Laden makes NO mention of any role in 9/11, because, according to the FBI, they have NO PROOF of his involvement in 9/11 !

So, if Bin Laden and his “19 Arabs” didn’t do it, WHO DID?

    Qui bono? (Who profits?)

    • equity1 says:

Very well said Political Scientist. And since Glenn Beck and the other main streem media will not look at your facts it then has to make you question their agenda.

You people who follow Glenn, Rush, Hannity, Riley, and the rest. Look at Political Scientist questions. Better yet google ALL of the questions and learn for yourself.

After the research you do you will learn that Political Scientist is right on the money………. It is sad.

      • Political Scientist says:

        Thanks, equity1.

I responded with a lengthy dissertation on the history of False Flag attacks, but was blocked!

Censorship is alive and well in America!

  15. stvpaulson says:

Glenn Beck is mostly correct in everything I’ve seen him speak about. I believe our country is in serious trouble. So does Mr. Beck! For the first time in my 58 yrs I’m afraid for our country becuase of what our government is doing to its own people and how the people are just sitting in their living rooms and not doing a thing about it. The Tea Parties are a good idea, but don’t go far enough in their actions. We need change and we need it big-time. Let’s all get together and talk about what can be done to return the gov’t of these United States back to the people where it rightfully belongs! Let’s all write letters to Congress and tell them what we think and how we feel!
Let’s go to our Senator’s offices and speak to them in person! Let’s go and help the Veterans who fought for our country to have better quality of life! Let’s speak kindly to one another and not squabble so much! Let’s have some peace and tolerance for one another! Let’s be Americans, and Proud Americans! Now more apologies to Europe or any other country which owes us huge war debts! We saved the world in WW II ! Enough already! They should show some appreciation for the USA!

    • Glen_Becks_Cousin says:

Yes, our country is in serious danger, but it’s not because what our government is doing to us (well, maybe a little).

It is more in danger from the likes of Mr. Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh spreading lies and hatred. Mr. Beck has shown video of Nazis marching through the streets, all the while talking about Obama. Why do people show up at town halls with pictures of Obama next to Hitler, or with Obama with Hitler mustaches? It’s because people like Mr. Beck and Hannity make such comparisons.

Before Mr. Beck went to Fox, it was rare to see Nazi comparisons. Now it is commonplace. This is unacceptable. Nazis murdered 6 million Jews; they were responsible for tens of millions of deaths in WWII. They committed atrocious and heinous crimes against humanity. Tell me, what has Obama done to deserve to be compared to Nazis?

Mr. Beck has been a big supporter of guns and militias. He has talked about revolution. Some of the groups behind the tea parties frankly are scary organizations; their web sites talk about armed insurrection.
I bet that that idiot who brought the AK-15 assault rifle to an Obama event is like a Glenn Beck fan, or is friends with someone who is. One of these days, someone, maybe the President, is going to be shot because of these lunatics.

When people protested the Iraq War, they were labelled as “traitors” and “un-American” and “un-patriotic.” Bush said that you are either “for us or against us.” He referred to the “angry left.” And others referred to these people as “Bush haters” and talked about “Bush derangement syndrome.” But the main reason these people hated Bush is because he started war in Iraq, and that war was immoral and based on at best shoddy evidence and at worst, it was based on lies. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or wounded, both physically and mentally, including some 4300 plus American dead and untold numbers of innocent Iraqis dead.

Now, people are upset over Obama and frankly hate him. Why? One reason is because they think their taxes will go up, and, honestly, they probably will, especially for the higher income brackets. But our tax rates are some of the lowest in our history right now. In WWII, the highest tax rates were over 90%. Much of the 20th Century saw much higher rates than we have now. Didn’t we have phenomenal growth in the 20th Century, in spite of the higher tax rates that we have now? Didn’t peole have “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” during most of the 20th Century, in spite of the higher tax rates?

Further, Bush is the first President ever not to raise taxes in a time of war.

Some people are upset with Obama because they say he is going to take away our “Freedoms.” I really wonder what “freedoms” will be taken away. I lived in “socialist” Europe for 4 years; I had just as many freedoms over there, if not more, than we have here. For starters, I was a lot more free to enjoy life with the 5 weeks most people automatically get for vacation; I didn’t have to worry as much as I do here about the rat race.

Yes, we did rescue the world in WWII, and the Europeans loved us for it. They have shown their appreciation over the years. But we also severely damaged the world because of the Iraq War.

Our priorities in this country are very messed up when we get criticized and called names over protesting a war, where people get killed; but then people apparently get much more upset because they think their taxes are going up, and they mistakenly believe that our “freedoms” will be taken away because of what people like Mr. Beck propagandize.

      • kieselguhrkid says:

Hear hear. The comparison to Germany under Hitler makes me sick to my stomach. The man who sparked the greatest conflict in history and butchered tens of millions of people in the name of racial superiority has almost nothing in common with Obama. To attempt to derail meaningful reform that will both reduce costs on our country and help insure the poorest Americans so they can have access to a basic human right in health care by comparing it to eugenics is not just reprehensible, it’s completely immoral.
And thank you for pointing out that Europe, which is much more progressive, is a fine place to live. To everyone who proclaims that America is the greatest country on earth, I ask: Have you lived in every other country? If not, you sound like an ignorant bigot.

      • angeljenny55 says:

I want to get this out there NOW. The comparison that Glenn made between Hitler’s Germany and the way that the United States is going is APPROPRIATE. My mother grew up in Hitler’s Germany, and I can tell you, the way that Obama is going, there will be no difference between the US now and Germany 1933 very shortly. The parallels are frightening. Study your history my friend, and I don’t mean a history book that is being taught now. Get a history book from before 1970–that way you will get the truth. The way Hitler came to power, during economic hardship in Germany, is very like Obama’s rise. The media love-fest is the very same. The disparaging of conservatives, almost a de-humainzation of them in America, is straight out of the marginalization textbook that the Nazis followed, but then it was Jews, Conservative Christians, Slavs, etc. And then there’s the whole cadre of Czars, quite like the visceral pack that surrounded Hitler. Corruption, special interests, disinformation in the press, the crushing of liberty and rights…DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR??? It’s Nazi Germany all over again, and BECK is RIGHT!
Thank you, Glenn Beck, for having the GUTS to speak up. God bless you, and God save America.

  16. DanPhx64 says:

I support the notion of building the Freedom Tower and calling it that.
And it does make me sad that 8 years later the “pile” seems to have only gotten as far as a “pit.”

What makes me more sad is that 8 years after 9/11 “telecom interoperability” is still the primary recipe to help First Responders do the job they risk their lives doing every day to protect us at home. Although the pile had to become a pit and the non-interoperability radios and networks had to be replaced with interoperable ones, both are just a start, not an end. I believe we can do much better than a pit and much better than just radios that work together. And I believe we must.

  17. painereader says:

    Glenn,
I can’t forget the attacks, victims and reasons. In thinking about tomorrow and 912Project, I have read the 9 Principles and 12 Values (they are similar to what we learned in the Scouts). I have a question about “Principle 2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life”. What does that mean to you in a daily active way?

    • Sanity says:

Glenn Beck got his butt fired from his last gig, because of stupid actions and statements…not to mention the one that said he was FED UP of the 9/11 families and that he really hated seeing them on TV…Now he screams for us to remember 9/11 and uses 9/12 to play on his personal agenda… Does any one remember that this guy was a duplicitous drug addict not so long ago…..and you are following him? He is not passionate about a position..he is opportunistic on the revenue producing drama of the day….but of course, this wont make it past his sensors.

  18. free man says:

Sorry Glenn, I disagree. We were attacked as a direct result of our empire. If we truly believed in freedom we would understand the resentment that accompanies installing our military in other countries to protect our corporate interests. Where does the Constitution allow for that?

Please spend some more time with Ron Paul. You’re on the right track Glenn, but you’ve got some way to go.

    • jnevo says:

      Freeman,
Our empire? We are in Europe to protect our allies, remember the freedom they were given? twice? We are Korea to protect an UN ally. What corporate interests do we have in Afghanistan? Hmmm? Not much money to be made there.

Get off the anti free market kick. The federal government is not your friend, regardless of the party in power.

      • seokso says:

Actually, Afghanistan has large oil and natural gas reserves and is a key location for oil pipelines. I notice too that you neglected to mention the longstanding US presence in the Middle East. I imagine the motivation for that was too obviously against your point.

      • equity1 says:

I wonder why the poppy plants have NOT been destroyed ? No money to be made there!!! Are you kidding me. If there was not money to be made there the USA would NOT be there period….. Think about it.

We are always being told its about freedom. That’s b.s. Its always about money.

      • free man says:

perhaps you should familiarize yourself with unocal and afghanistan. where does our Constitution allow for OUR troops to be used for the purpose of an international governing body? so far the only thing the UN has done for the US is take our money in exchange for our bravest to return in body bags. what did i post that you construed as “anti free market”? did you see my reference to Ron Paul? like i don’t realize the federal government is not my friend.

      • hamsto24 says:

Equity1 i applaud you for your last line. In this world where cash is king we have put human lives and liberties second in order to line our pocketbooks first.

  19. Chicago James says:

Thanks Glenn. Some good things happened today and some bad ones too. The Coast Guard fiasco making me want to really forget the whole 911 thing forever. I was not moved until reading “Remember why we were attacked”. Where is that new building anyway? I loved the idea of new towers even higher than before. Your cool. I will continue with a little more hope because of you.

  20. alan says:

hey Zack, first of all he was not alive for hiroshima, next i fought in vietnam and the murder of americans by muslim extremeists on 9/11 was the biggest story of my life. that is not to say the places you mentioned are not worth remembering it is just the fact that America was attacked that day. I also find it strange you did not mention Pearl harbor. I guess you think nothing is important when americans are murdered on our soil.

    • Zack says:

Good point. I add Pearl Harbour. But then again, if Glenn wasn’t born for that either, it doesn’t really count, now does it?

BTW, read my Amen! reply. What happened on 9/11 is beyond my capacity for understanding. Don’t get me wrong.

  21. Bethie says:

Yes of course we should have a Freedom Tower memorial.
It should have been completed years ago!!!

But even more, we should keep the memory of 9/11 in our hearts
and never forget that Freedom is not free.

I was so surprised on Labor Day, my neighborhood
had flags displayed in almost every yard.
But today, on September 11th, I looked up and down the street and saw
not one flag besides my own.

America, REMEMBER! Freedom is not free.

    God Bless America.

    Pray for our republic.

  22. 00serendipity02 says:

    Never Forget:

  23. Grumpy Chief says:

Glenn…for once…you’re right!! Bush and Cheney were both asleep at the switch when we were attacked. Now that both of them are out of White House…I’m able to sleep at night.

    • Zack says:

Biggest story in YOUR life, Glenn?

Not Hiroshima? Not Rwanda? Not Vietnam? Not Ethiopia? Not the Khmer Rouge?

Of course not. You live in your own little world where everyone else but the USA exists. Obviously, anything that happens outside of the States is not worth remembering – not its tragedies nor its culture…

      • acheyjake says:

Zack, it isn’t clear what your point is but I’ll respond anyway.

        1) I’m pretty sure that Hiroshima happened before Glenn was born, but if you know anything about history you would understand that Hiroshima and Nagasaki actually forced the Japanese to surrender, likely actually saving lives by preventing an actual invasion of mainland Japan.

        2) Rwanda? The genocide in Rwanda happened in 1994 and we know who was president then. This genocide was largely ignored by the MSM until the Hollywood left decided to make it an issue after it was far too late.

        3) Vietnam? A war started by a progressive democrat.

        4) Ethiopia? I personally had no power to help Ethiopians back in the 1980’s and I recognized that fact. Were you able to help them?

        5) The Khmer Rouge? This from wikipedia: The Khmer Rouge (Khmer: ខ្មែរក្រហម) was the name given to the followers of the Communist Party of Kampuchea, the totalitarian ruling party in Cambodia from 1975 to 1979, led by Pol Pot, Ieng Sary, Son Sen and Khieu Samphan.

This organization is remembered primarily for its policy of social engineering and the deaths this caused. Its attempts at agricultural reform led to widespread famine, while its insistence on absolute self-sufficiency, even in the supply of medicine, led to the deaths of thousands from treatable diseases (such as malaria). Brutal and arbitrary executions and torture carried out by its cadres against perceived subversive elements, or during purges of its own ranks between 1976 and 1978, are considered to have constituted a genocide.

Again, Zack, I have no idea what your point is. Take care friend and good luck with that.

        Acheyjake,
JFK was not a progressive Democrat and Hiroshima was more to intimidate the Russians than to win the war against the Japanese, who had been trying to surrender all summer. The Khmer Rouge were given power by the illegal bombing of Cambodia by Richard Nixon. Furthermore, Zack’s point was that much, much worse things have happened than 9-11. In fact, the United States has committed far worse crimes than 9-11, at least one of which (the Iraq War) is still taking place.
