"The administration misread the economy". What a sad statement for the administration to make. What that says to me is that they obviously do not know what they are doing, which means they have the wrong people in those positions.

The average "Joe" on the street knows as much about how to run this government as the administration does.

I submit that they are wrong, not only on the Economy but on Cap and Trade, Healthcare, Immigration and International relations.

I thought there were only Three Stooges. Looks like there are a lot more than three.

  2. Gone says:

Is this maybe the transparency Obama was talking about? ; )

  3. ChrisTyd says:

Mr. Biden-Fiasco strikes again! What a buffoon!

  4. soonernation says:

HAHHAHA "i think we have resolved that problem" "oh, you did?" "welllll…i think we are well on our way to solving that issue"….."oh, well who won?" ….shocked face, little awkward giggle "they both did??" haha wow….. i love it. I almost feel bad for Biden. Almost.

  5. knutjb says:

Biden is a tool. Since he is known for blurting out "dumb" things, Obama gets Joe to say it first so everyone just blows it off as one more "dumb" thing out of Joe's mouth. Now that an additional stimulus plan has been put out there, again, if the polling goes south they can quietly rethink it, again, if poll numbers go up they pursue it. I think they are only polling Dems but that appears to be the tactic. This isn't the first time they have talked about another stimulus, it has always been there since they passed the last one. Joe is the comic relief and running distraction for Obama.

Regardless of what their long term plan is, if the economy doesn't comeback real soon the Dems are in big trouble for 2010. If they can squeeze out a stimulus before the next election they think they can buy the election.

The WH is getting nervous about the economy because it's not recovering and the most likely reason to the general public is Obama's plan, they reached too far and the public is nervous. They have been over reaching with bad economy diatribe through the media for so long they didn't understand it's like trying to turn the Titanic and they way overshot their mark.

On Fox News Sunday, Boehner had Hoyer on the defensive when talking about the stimulus by interjecting that the same economist who said the bloated Dem plan would cost jobs also said the Repub plan would have cost less than half as much and would have worked already. Hoyer was losing his composure in a way I hadn't seen before. They ARE worried Obama is leading them to the unemployment line.

    IT"S THE ECONOMY STUPID!

Saw a great bumper sticker: "Obama Making Marxism Look Cool Again"

  6. 40tolife says:

    Biden is right and wrong.

He is right in the fact that BHO and his cronies misread the economy. He is wrong in the fact that everyone got it wrong. Anyone with half a frak'n brain got it and knew that mass spending wasn’t the answer. We all told BHO not to stick his fingers in the pie, but he did and he got burned.

Not everyone got it wrong Biden, its just that you and BHO didn’t listen.

We said not to pass the stimulus, and you did.
We told you not to meddle with banks, and you did.
We told you not to meddle with the automakers, and you did.

Some stimulus might have been the answer, but BHO didn’t pass stimulus he passed pork. Here we are 6 months after the fact and MORE THEN 95% of the stimulus package is waiting to be spent. As a matter of fact the majority of the package isnt even starting until 2010.

The economy has gotten worse, unemployment is at 9.5% and rising, and yet BHO and cronies keep spending. Now we have Cap and Tax coming, which by all accounts will increase the energy costs per family by around $175 a month, and Obamacare which will not only increase our taxes but will kill more Americans then Hitler did. All of this adds up to a total bankruptcy of the American People.

BHO is not creating jobs he is destroying them…..

    • Tazmin13 says:

It's interesting that the bulk of the stimulus won't be spent until 2010. Is this for buying/keeping the Obama worshipers seats in DC?

  7. We and everyone else misread the economy?? WHAT?!?!?! People were screaming at you jerks to not buy GM and AIG and to NOT pass a second stimulus bill. Mind you this is the every day person not economists!!! My entire economics class saw your plans as a disaster waiting to happen, guyess what fool we read the economy too.

And NOW you've got the gall to get on national TV and say "everyone else misread it too" this is insulting, do you really think that the American people have such a short attention span that we can be distracted by YOU of all people? Mr. Let me show you where the secret safe house is and my code name for the SS. This administration is going to give me a heart attack before I hit 20!

  8. Texan2 says:

    Dear Mr. Vice-President:
    My reply to your comments….
    1) there was a misreading of how bad an ecomony "we inherited"
Cow patties..you and Obama were serving Senators when you voted over a year ago for the first (under Bush)
series of stimulus pacakges (remember the rebate checks?). Everything Congress has done since
then has only EXCACERBATED the problem.
    2) we must give "time for the stimulus to work"
This process started OVER A YEAR AGO! Also, what every happened to "shovel ready"?
    3) "7.5 billion for broadband….."
Tell that little gem to a Chrysler car mechanic laid off when YOU decided his dealership was unworthy.

  9. Rogers_Sense says:

Misread the economy? All these smart Harvard types Misread the Economy? Bunch of morons! At first these people were mislead by George Bush, who they called a idiot (by the way if your Mislead by a Idiot what does that make you?) now they misread the economy? FIRE THEM they are incompetent bums!!

  10. I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Joe Biden is the crash test dummy of politics.

    • knutjb says:

You said it. He is the WH crash test dummy, let Joe do it and then poll, repeat process till you get the outcome you desire.

  11. oh they arent idiots… i mean its easy to put a decimal place in the wrong space when your calculating billions and trillions of dollars……NOT! Either way it like duh you morons, you were the only ones misreading this.

  12. 1776time says:

I wonder if the transparency that Obama's administration was speaking of, was that of the X-ray results of Biden's head, in search of brain matter?

  13. Islandsox says:

We need Bumper Stickers: Bumbling, Fumbling, Biden, Washington's Laughing Stock. How about it?

  14. detestObama says:

Well, Obama picked this nut! One nut to another. Boy do we have problems in this country, when voters were brainwashed into thinking Obama was the better choice!

  15. stompedge says:

Misread? I was under the impression that nothing gets read in Washington.

  16. uuuggh says:

I was over at a "lib board" They're just hateful & rotten. They're in power but have to run down someone else. Came here & got my laughs but I know we're laughing instead of crying. I'm afraid that it was not a gaff but another hint that ANOTHER "emergency" stimulus will be needed. Obama said we don't need another yet. Watch what he does, cause everything he says is lies.

    • Islandsox says:

The Huffington Post is pretty bad too. I was trying to defend Honduras and I found out from "actual" news that the CIA were the coup leaders. Wow, didn't know that and I live here. Also found out that the USA owns Honduras, wow, didn't know that either. Had I known I wouldn't have spent so much money on my Honduran Residency Card. And if the USA owns Honduras, why doesn't Obama hold a town hall down here to discuss his health care reform? We have millions and millions of insured people.

Looks like a Stimulus is in the works. Geez, they haven't even gotten out the door the first stimulus money? How do they know we need another Stimulus? Answer: they don't; they just want to keep taking our money; they must move the middle class down to the poor class and that's what they are trying to do.

  17. htrn says:

So Biden says this, '"The truth is, there was a misreading of just how bad an economy we inherited," said Biden, who is leading the administration's effort to implement it's $787 billion economic stimulus plan.' and states that nobody knew how bad it really was.

I beg to differ. There are many people that knew (and still know) how bad this economy is. It is going to get worse and what was done with the 'stimulus package' isn't going to do anything more than make things even worse than they would otherwise be.

Yes, they did inherit a bad economy. Nobody can argue this point. The economy has been on a downward trend for some time and politicians seem to have been doing everything they can to ruin it for the long term just so they can get some short-term gains. The current administration is no different. The only change that will come out of it is the change we have left in our pocket after they are done pillaging the wealth that has been generated in this great land of ours.

  18. MikeinIdaho says:

No, the administration new EXACTLY what was going on and they embrased it! Rahm Emmanuel said it best when he said "Never let a good crisis go to waste". These people are liars and thieves and must be stopped.

"We the People" are coming and we're pissed!

  19. LadyIzShy says:

forgive me now for being simple minded. BUT are these not the same people that BASHED Bush for saying they misread how bad Katrina was going to be? Now If i can look at a weather radar and see the people should leave the area that a huricain is going to hit and i live in MI am I smarter than the government? I can look around me and SEE the economy is tanking and is FAR worse than the government is telling us am I smarter than them? If I can see that if I dont have the money to pay my bills I dont go out and BORROW more money to spend STILL more to make my bills suddenly go away, why cant the government? PLEASE come on people you have educations FAR beyond mine, yet I pay my bills EVERY time they are do. without fail..SMH

    God save Us ALL

    • gsteinbacher says:

You kind of answered yourself along the way. Yes we are smarter then the government, except to the fact that we did vote them in office, And I do say "we" as a general term there are a lot of them I did not vote for, but they (for the most part) are all being stupid even those that we thought we could count on.

  20. Miami_Bob says:

    Joe Biden,

    An American Embarrassment….

  22. Tim says:

Yeah, but I bet they didn't "Misread" that their actions made government bigger!

Remember mid turm elections, lets get our country back, before its sold to China..

  25. Navydad says:

60million Americans "misread" at the polls too.
    …simpleton.

  26. Nomarxism says:

The "stimulus" was intended to stimulate Democratic party supporters (which it did). The bulk of the money was reserved to be used to destroy opposition to absolute Democratic (communi-t) rule in the 2010 and 2012 sham "elections". BO needs to get all his Marxi-t controls in place and then he may become interested in the economy when the US dollar is hopelessly destroyed. I wounder what the exchange rate will be for the new north american "yes we can" federal reserve note?

  27. moesite says:

Did they 'misread' or screw us on purpose? Either scenario is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!
If they 'misread' then they really are stunningly stupid — even I, who is totally uneducated as far as Wall street, economics, financial stuff goes — even I KNEW THEIR ACTIONS WOULD LEAD TO DISASTER.
All it took was COMMON SENSE – I dont have a college education, i dont have experience in such matters, but I do have COMMON SENSE. If these people are truly that stupid, they need to go!!!!!! NOW!!!
If they are purposely screwing us / america — well, then, they REALLY NEED TO GO!!

  28. rcalogeroglo says:

Mr. "Stick my foot in my mouth" Biden has done it again!!!

  29. Joebod says:

    What a clown!!!

  30. Obama knew what he was doing when he placed him as VP. It makes Obama look "smarter" and etc. The same as the press secretary and house speaker. Many times I have heard my friends of a different race than me ,laugh because of the "stupid" things said and done by the white people in government.

  31. SharoninPhx says:

Or "misread" simply put – We didn't listen to what common sense was telling us -

  32. SharoninPhx says:

Don't you mean "misread" as a euphemism for "We don't really care what was going on – we pushed our own agenda and got what we wanted for the progressive movement – We don't have to listen to anybody cause we will get what we want for as long as we can get it!"
I think that's what he meant to say.

  33. Joe52 says:

Does Barack Obama understand how embarassing it is for the people of the United States to have Joe Biden as their Vice-President? Does he realize that Joe was the first guy voted off the island during the primaries as even the Democrats wanted no part of him? Now Joe is a heartbeat away from being the most powerful man in the free world and he still hasn't figured out how to keep his big mouth shut! It only proves that the amount of thought that went into the Stimulus Bill, Cap & Trade and Health Care Reform mimics the same thought process that gave us Vice-President Joe Biden!

    • Fish_Guy says:

There may be a reason for Obama's insanity. If I understand this right, his current cabinet is made up of some of the people who ran against in 2008. Now if they chose to run against him in 2012, they would have to resign their positions to do so , even though they are supposed to resign at the end of the President's term in the event that he doesn't get re-elected.

    • george48 says:

It goes to show you dont need to be smart to be a senator just a good lier, anyone can do that, but it takes a snake to do it better…

    • AuntieJ says:

Biden is a free life insurance policy for B.O.

  34. goldnhorde says:

First, is it just me, or is George Stephanopoulos just a first class wank? He just seems like the human equivalent of styrofoam packing peanuts.

Anyways , Sorry, but "misreading" is just not an option. WHOOPS!!!!! sorry we quadrupled the debt …. we forgot to carry the one and didn't notice that there was a "minus mark" on column seven. Economics are only as complicated as you make them. Period. If you wanted to fix the economy, step one would be making things more simple, not more complicated, hence, the botomline goal is not fixing the economy. Sure, if it happens as a secondary effect they will sit back and go "see … we did it". Obama is great at acting like a four year old magician and taking credit for any positive effect on the crowd.

  35. Barb66 says:

Hopefully Americans are looking at BHO'S fiscal plan more seriously. First Colin Powell and now the VP. Both have said the Administration don't know what they are doing. Things are getting worse every day and I don't when DC is going to figure you cannot throw money at a problem. It has never worked before and it won't work now. You cannot spend money you do not have and expect to have a good outcome. More important people are speaking out now as they realize this plan is not working. Lets hope they don't pass cap&tax and nationalized health care. That will cost more money we do not have.

    • moesite says:

barb; dont just HOPE cap & tax isnt passed — MAKE YOUR OPINION HEARD!! Its CRUCIAL that we all contact ALL SENATORS and let them know we dont want this ridiculous bill passed!
      email ALL SENATORS (not only yours);
call as many as you can
      send snailmail to the bums
      address :
      Senator (name)
      u.s. senate
      wash dc 20510
They are returning to congress today and will be discussing this crap and trade nonsense and voting SOON
so there's no time to lay around HOPING for the best!!

  36. Dustyluv says:

Gee I agree with Joe Biden???? Excuse me why I kill myself…

  37. Dustyluv says:

Gee I agree with Joe Biden…Excuse me why I kill myself…

  38. kenoshax says:

really joe, you misread the economy, really……. who would have seen that one coming….this administration is either grossly incompetent or out right lying…..i'm gonna go with the out right lying

    • moesite says:

kenoshax; yeah, me too. I go with the lying theory. Obummer and his pals want what they want and they want it NOW!! They didnt / dont care about the consequences!
DAMN THE TORPEDOES, FULL SPEED AHEAD!!

    • ticked_in_ga says:

Did I misremember or did the big zero and plugs campaign on the worst economy since the Great Depression. If they believed that then, how in the hell can they claim that they misread the economy and it was worse than they thought? Biden is a dolt and a disgrace. His boss is an America hating fascist/marxist tyrant. They will point fingers of blame when things get worse and push through more government cures. The Dangerous Duo are intent to destroy our country.

    • Islandsox says:

They are incompetent and then they lie. I'll bet Obama wishes he hadn't made that statement. Why didn't his economic advisers say that instead. Why not Kristine Romer? Why Biden? Oh, he's the fall guy and he wants to sound important: uh, Joe, that statement didn't help your cause.

  39. Jerseygal says:

TweedleDee and TweedleDumber are running around the world saying and doing stupid things. At least Biden admitted it's their responsibility, right after blaming Bush for it. Bush was responsible for the stupid TRAP 1, but BH0 put it on steroids. And since when do all those summer jobs start in Sept?

And to say that no one knew how bad things were? We knew, and those idiots would not listen.

  40. No, Mr. Biden, the administration didn't misread the economy, the administration was WRONG. You are wrong on the war, wrong on defense, wrong on taxes, wrong on spending, and wrong on the economy. You are wrong for me, wrong for my children, wrong for our future, and wrong for this country. There, I hope you don't misread THAT, Mr. Vice-President.

  41. every one has the right to be a moron however Biden abuses the privilege

  42. cherokee1241 says:

Our goverment employee's judge the economy by their own pocket books not ours (the working people that give them their pocket books) that is where the misjudgement came from

  43. TJinVa says:

Biden is without question the dumbest politician of all time. The guy is a walking gaff machine. What a buffoon.
He's the only levity in the Obama administration.

  44. mwb1951 says:

Let's face it. Joe Biden supplies the comic relief in Washington. The best part? No matter where the Obamaites try to put him, hoping he will stop blundering, they can't hide him. He is his own worst enemy and I think it's great that he causes the Obamaites heartburn. Let's hope he keeps talking. Maybe he will let something slip that will really hurt the administration, something HUGE (and we know there's lots of that, just no real proof YET) to ensure that they don't get re-elected. A girl can dream, right?

  45. RipeTomata says:

Biden is the Democrats Dan Quayle. Now the left wing media isn't going to skewer him like they did Dan, but I think in time Joe will hurt this administration just as much as Quayle damaged his.

  46. mylodude25 says:

See what's weird about this administration(at least to me) is that if this were a normal administration and the VP said "we misread the economy" I could say "okay, that's seems reasonably true, mistakes happen, people are wrong." It is however my belief that this adminstration(more so than the previous adminstration) has a completely different agenda and is looking to prolong this recession so they can push more of their policies through. I do put blame on the bush adminstration, but the rate that it has exploded under Obama is insane.

  47. mylodude25 says:

Let's see, unempoyment down to around 4.5% and Stock Market up to 14,000, Calls for investigations of Freddie and Fannie (Blocked by the Dems). Yea it was Bush's fault. I think you better look at the facts. The real screw up was the TARP 1 signed by Bush

  48. amstecher says:

Are you kidding, the great thing about Biden (from Pres. Obama's perspective) is that he says SO MANY stupid things that when he gets one like this right Obama can just say, "Look it's Biden. He also said last week that AMTRAC is run by furry Martians. So come on, who are you going to believe…me, or him?"

  49. pslwd says:

"Misread" the economy – that sounds close to the truth. This administration is clueless about the economy. I have read where most of the stimulus money will be spent next year and this is supposed to bolster the sagging Dems in time for the 2010 election.

  50. Shadrach says:

B.O. needs to make an executive order, No Kool-Aid for Joe!!! He did not say anything that we as 912'ers didn't already know!! I guess there may have been some people shocked by this, but they were misinformed by their own lack of knowledge!! They are getting their information from the wrong sources, but that fall back to being misinformed to begin with. If more people would get the truth about what our country is facing, we would make great strides in getting the wrong people out of office, and the right ones in!!!

  51. beckgether says:

Of the three I trust Biden the most. Actually I don't trust the other two at all so it is an easy contest.
