THE OBAMA AGENDA…..wow that will make a good horror film some day and Colin Powell can be the good guy in that film, but for now He has messed his britches with me. I respect and honor his service to our country but after that he came out of the closet and put his foot in his mouth. I'm glad he is seeing the light but I can not trust him again knowing that he let color turn his head as many have done. I would have voted for him if he had run but not because of his color. I would have voted for him because of what he said he stood for. You cannot jump fence and expect to be well received when you come back. God Bless America and Freedom.
He is afraid that Obama is heading us in the wrong dirrection…but he still wants Obama to succeed?!?! Yes, I support the man, but do not support his policies. I support the man, but think his policies will flush the American dream down the toilet. I support the man, but think I better pack my bags and run off to New Zealand before my country is destroyed.
This man is dead to me now. I used to think he could be trusted and that he was one of the last straight ace people in washington.
The way he supported Obama took that all away. Not that he supported Obama. The WAY he did it. They got caught in their little game. someone leaked Powell was supporting Obama. It leaked. Powell denied it. made a big speech about party and such. THen .. BANG … at the last minute … Powell threw his hat in. Obama used him and used him in the wy that Obama needs peopel to be used. Quick, move, don't think about it. And like that, he tried to trick and pull powell supporters, which i am sure he did. not myself, but i am sure it worked to some extent.
SO … he can keep the cheap talk and his chosen allies. Enjoy the Barry Show, COlin …. even in a small way, you really helped put it over that tiny inch that got him elected. Congratulations. shut up and stop acting like you are opposed now … JOIN THE FUN!!! YOU EARNED IT FOR HIM!!! SPREAD THE WEALTH COLIN!!!!! TALK ABOUT YOUR INHEIRITED PROBLEMS!!!! MISJUDGE THE ECONOMY!!!! SPEND SOME TIME IN THE ISLANDS ON SOME TAXPAYERS!!!!
Powell once again turns his coat. Mr Powell needs to cobble together a whole new coat. The winter of discontent is coming, hope he freezes.
Yes, he is also staunchly supporting that crazy affirmative action beneficiary Sotomayor (the law of averages would give "wiser" and more defensible legal decisions throwing darts at a dart board ) . There appears to be no end to the "reverse racism" in this country as the Obama administration and his commun-st cabal are proving.
Powell is no friend of mine. His backing of a BO in 08 for race only was a disappointment. Ideology should be is stronger than race.
I could swear that it was only a month or so ago he was defending BH0 saying the people want Big Gov. with Big services – Strange is strange and that be Colin Powel – what a let down he's been.
I just want to give a huge "THANK YOU" to all of those on this board who served and those who have died in service to our country in the military. Your service is so appreciated and you forever have our gratitude for what you have sacrificed for our freedom.

The next time Obama says "we inherited this mess", someone should gently remind him that things weren't exactly fluffy white and rosey after 9-11 either.
And yet George W. Bush's tax cuts generated 52 consecutive months of economic growth, primarily because his economic policy was targeted at easing pressure on the people who make money and generate jobs.
So far the O-Team is 0 for 5 (months) on its challenge.
Someone should also remember to point President Obama to page 20 of Dick Morris' book "Fleeced":
"Since this (capital gains) tax increase would probably be retroactive, too, investors wouldn't know when to sell their stocks, so they'd probably err on the side of caution and do so as soon as it becomes clear that Obama is likely to be elected. So look for a sharp downturn as election day approaches and especially in the period between a Democratic victory and inauguration day. Obama will doubtless blame the drop on the outgoing Bush administration, but it would be his own capital gains tax plans that send the markets into a tizzy."

Had Powell determined who he would endorse and vote for based on record and ideology, he wouldn't be surprised at the direction Obama is taking the country . Instead Powell voted based on race. A persons ideology does not shift overnight from calling himself Republican to voting for the most liberal Democratric candidate possible.

At least Colin Powell is acknowledging there is a huge problem. Most people with Colin Powells popularity..good or bad.. never admits they picked the wrong team…..I have to say at least he is doing the right thing now! Yes this President is even starting to scare his biggest fans.. We need our Politicians to take notice…. I guess the big O hasn't scared our happy friends on the hill until he throws Nancy under the bus and he will throw Nancy under the bus!
He didn't disagree with the agenda he said we can't pay for it all.
OldMarine, thank you for your service to our country! I have been extremely upset at what Dictator Obama, his czars and the Dummycrats who are in his pockets are doing to our wonderful America! I am fearful for my grown kids and grandkids and other people's kids and grandkids that will be living in a land of the not so free, if this administration succeeds with their plans on one-world order. I have a question for you based on a comment from an acquaintance. She told me she has a friend in the military who said that, if the country starts to deteriorate under Obama's rule, that the military would go against him and protect we Americans. Do you think that is a possibility or is the military obligated to protect Dictator Obama at our expense? I would hope they would come to our defense. What is your comment?
I'm not Old Marine, but I too served. I was fortunate in never having to face bullets, but I saw the character of those who serve and I was impressed. Our military is the best informed and most patriotic segment of our population, and they have a high degree of civic responsibility. We who served took an oath to serve and defend the Constitution from all threats, foriegn _and domestic_ and this includes politicians who usurp powers never granted them by the Constitution. Rest assured, should BO ever order Marines, or anyone lese, to shoot civilian protestors such as happened in Iran, he would be the one in need of cover. The Democrats need to realize we who serve know our Constitution, and we know the limits of the power _we_ granted _them_. If they've forgotten, we can always remind them.

I could never imagine our military allowing Osama Obama and his czars to totally ruin our beautiful America and suppress its citizens. Thank you for your service to our country! I have the utmost respect for our military and, when I see one of our service members, I make a point to shake their hands and tell them "thank you for serving our country!" It's the least I can do. I will be 61 this year and have never seen the likes of Osama Obama before. I have never felt so vulnerable as I do now. I hope that Dictator Obama will be either over thrown or voted out of office before it's to late for America! God bless you, Brian 333!!
I am a Vietnam Veteran, and my fellow soldiers from that forgotten war had less than pleasant thoughts about the radicals protesting in Washington, DC. But we would NEVER have fired on fellow Americans if ordered to do so by our officers. The order would have been questioned. A mutiny in the ranks would have resulted. Citizen soldiers differ from the soldiers in totalitarian countries. Today's citizen soldiers would question illegal orders, too. Officers are aware of their duty to the Constitution, and are instructed in the difference between legal and illegal orders. Patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrel politicians. Our officers protect and serve the Constitution, not political scoundrels.
I used to have a very high level of respect for Colin Powell until he made the comment that we citizen's of America want universal health care. I wonder who he discussed that idea with to come to that conclusion; certainly not me. If he would have asked me, I would have told him I abhor the thought of our government taking over our medical care or anything else, for that matter!
I thought the same thing about his conclusion too.
Powell has no influence on the Republican party and is definitely a RINO. They've turned their backs on him, rightfully so, as he turned his on them when he endorsed Obama.
He had my respect when he served in uniform. He has moved to an uncomfortable left in the last few years. He would do well to admit he is a center Democrat. There is almost nothing of value in his interviews or comments that are relevant to today's political landscape.

Let us solve our problems locally, thank you very much. The three branches of our federal government need to read the Constitution and Bill of Rights occasionally.
I tend to believe they should read them DAILY, at the start of each day, and at the end of each day!! Along with the Declaration of Independence! Maybe, just maybe, if they had it drilled into their thick skulls, they wouldn't violate it so often! I know, I know, I know, that's a HUGE pipe dream, I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery then that happening!

To any who think BHO is doing anything good as our president! I usually use the Ben Franklin method when attempting to make important decisions. This is rather simple. You make 2 lists. Positive and Negative,Or Good and Bad or even For or Against. As I recall the for side had one lone entry. The positive effects on the negro race in America! Thats it! All the rest were ,when concidered horrible! Now, I want to know. What date does BHO have planned to tell us that Osama Bin Laden was misunderstood and it was not his falut it really was ours or more specifically Geroge Bush and Dick Chenny's fault for being so mean to the poor radical muslims. Then what date is planned to assimilate them into our country. Lastly I want to know what date they have set for informing us that we will conform to islam or lose our heads! Or is he just going to be conviently out of the country when they blow us all to hell!

And, according to the news source, Colin Powell said his party is still not sensitive enough to minority issues.

I say this to all who would have my children dumbed down:

This is exactly why the U.S is falling behind other countries with education.
And then, it seems like anytime a parent has an unruly(yet intelligent) child, from my viewpoint I see parents wanting to give the child some kind of m-e-d-i-c-i-n-e. Maybe the children are either smarter than the parents or the parents are just crappy. Or maybe, the children see how upsidedown our country is becoming and they don't know how to express that feeling.

Conservatives are those who believe in the idea of a meritocracy, while the hand-wringing socialists will either: 1) give "minorities" crumbs off the table and tell said "minorities" something to the effect of "You can't make it without us" or 2) appoint unqualified people to high positions based on race, gender, etc (see Sotamayor).
What happened to the idea of everyone standing shoulder to shoulder at the starting line and letting them complete the race to SUCCESS based on things like competence, character and hard work?
Sadly for years we have neglected our children. We did this! We did not notice that the number of our kids failing was growing. The policitions blamed the parents! The plain truth is they simply want to use the money for other things! Pay teachers more? I say fire them! Find ones that have the creativity and desire to get their kids involved. Schools allow kids to leave as to not bring down their overall scores for one thing and one thing only Federal Dollars! Our culture has and does demand that we parents both work to support our families! Our choice stay home and go bankrupt. Mean while we employ people who sexually assault our kids and serve them sub par education.This is unacceptable! The cure is the same for EVERYTHING else included! The princibles and standards we the people embrace! No more games. Genuine actions to bring back the education that some of us older folks remember! No social promotions! No skipping school! Pass the tests or stay back and start all over again!

Powell turns his back on his party and endorses the most liberal man in the senate. Why? Race. Plain and simple. He endorses someone he knew full well was a disaster. I knew this and i'm not a politician. So you know darn well Powell knew this. Yet he still endorsed him. I know it was to keep from being called an uncle tom. After all he admitted he is a product of affirmative action. If that isn't emberassing enough.
Powell is nothing more than a foot note now.

My wife is considering some government program to help with her student loan. She is right that her student loan is only legally bound to her as it was from before our marriage. She is also right that financially it is going to be a significant drain on our finances (it has been defurred until now). I fear that it would only become something that will bind her to the government and their terms. I told her that she would become dependant on the politicians who sponsor and support that special program and all the baggage that will come with them, usually with subsequent loss of other freedoms. The only difference is whether I pay it in taxes to the government should she default (program seems designed to encourage this as I see it) or whether I make sacrifices to pay it back for her without government "assistance." And, yes, I am currently "the bread winner" for our family, working hard on an incomplete college education and no college loans of my own. I will not force her hand in this matter because then I would see myself as no better than the government has become.
I would love to…..unfortunatly my neighborhood has a good half up for sale and the rest in forclosure and not a peck at prospects…..and this isn't a rich neighborhood. With 13.9 un-employment and one of the highest taxed states…..the prospects aren't good.

Ok guys, I've got another question about the cap and trade bill. Remember in the 90's all the talk about "sick building" syndrome and how the energy folks were saying that we are getting sick because of the buildings being closed up so tight with the widespread use of heavy duty insulation, energy-efficient windows, etc.? Haven't heard much about that lately.
Also gotta ask the question-exactly how much of GE stock (major appliance manufacturer along with light bulbs) does BHO, algore, George Soros, Bill Ayers, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, etc. own? Would love to know the answer to that one. I'd also love to know how much GE contributed to the various campaigns.
I'd like to add, I heard this bill also bans fireplaces, wood burning stoves etc. But in answer to your question, yes, that was the case. black mold and all that sort of stuff. It covers things from having new carpet put in, in which the toxins can't get out. I heard the term….the house has to breathe…..which makes sense. I remember schools that had windows and such, till now, so many have no windows and are locked down and air tight….they have all sorts of issues of toxins, allergins and disease, just trapped and being circulated. I haven't heard anything about the o-zone, taking salt out of ocean water to help with our water shortage, and what about those barges of garbage? How did that work? We already know we used anti-bacterial stuff and now have created super bugs. What else failed or never came to light?
We banned fireplaces and such with the last gloibal freeze. We stopped doing controlled burns of our Federal lands to appease the environmentalists etc. I wonder, how many toxins and such have gone into the air and polluted things with the countless fires, the homes burning with tons of toxic agents and such. Is it more or less if an entire complex burns to the ground from an ill placed electric heater, or if it was better when we had options? !0 fire places, burning correctly, or a 10 unit apartment building burned to the ground? I burn my own wood from my tree limbs, or pay to have a garbabge collector come and get them, and burn them, or sell them and me paying for more energy use? Is it really energy? Or just simple control?
It's all about control. That's the only reason they need 1300 pages or whatever ridiculous amount of pages to write a bill. Good grief, "War and Peace" is only a couple of thousand pages long and it was about a whole city. The Constitution including amendments, the signers and the Declaration of Independence combined is less than 100 pages. This is redistribution of power pure and simple—from the people to the bureaucracy.
As a fellow dictator, one would think they would have hit it off better. I guess Russia is more insightful than I thought, including the American liberals!
We'll see how it plays out, but I do not think dictators like competition. Russia still wants to return to equal power status with the US, and BH0 is in their way.

Limited Government is not a slogan. It is a principle built into the constitution. Powell sounds like a progressive and disloyal to the principles of individual liberty. I want a government that works too, but it needs to work for the promotion of individual liberty.

For a military man, I am surprised that Powell did not see this coming. Perhaps he was blinded by the hype, as many other Americans where. Why simple people like us saw it coming, and the super "intelligent" people did not still eludes me.
It it too late to "CHANGE" your mind after you have been handed a life vest. He, among millions of others, wanted only to see a black man in office, and create just a bit of history. Well, they got what they wanted, I only hope there will be someone left to write it.
Misplaced trust and the whole ball of wax tossed in for hope. Literally based on nothing, but to appease people that racism was dead. I know as a woman, they were making people like me appear to be a traitor to woman-kind. Sorry, but as a woman, I don't want any woman in there, I want the right one……in all honesty I don't care if it's a woman or not. I still go with right person, not based on race, gender, etc.
Mr Powell when you endorsed Obama did you not relize that his progressive agenda when going to lead to an explosion of goverment spending that we have never seen before; and anyway, even if we could afford it Obama's programs are bad for our country.
God bless the USA! Mr. Powell is a disgrace and should be ashamed of himself. I find it quite disturbing that several years ago he had so many conservative Americans, including myself, fooled into believing that he too shared our values. Boy, has he shown he true colors recently. Thank God we never had a President Powell.
