I am greatly saddened, yet perplexed by her announcement. It just goes to show you its still a bloody boys club no matter what side you root for.
I do not see the resignation of Sarah Palin as a "quitter". I think she knows that our country needs her in the lower 48 to help to get the right people in office in 2010. She is a huge force to be reckoned with. She draws huge crowds, states the conservative values and principles very well. We NEED her in that roll. I think you will see the wisdom of her decision.
As of yet Sarah has NOT said she will be on the campaign trial for 2012.. I hope and pray she will .. If so, I personal think she will run as a independent and detach herself from all the two faced back stabbing corrupted politicians in the Republican party. Sarah Palin is the right medicine for this country that in need of a fast cure. If she decides to run she will need plenty of support financially, morally and spiritually It will be the duty of the silent majority to get to work and make this all happen.. She can not do it all alone. Moving fast forward, any suggestions from the 912 group on who will be a good asset to share her ticket?? HA! besides Glenn Beck…..

The type of leader that I want is someone who will preach and live up to the following: In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children. I think that anyone that will keep these values in our hearts and tries their best to live by them will take us to the right place regardless of what is going on around us. If enough of us keep these values then we will be lead to the correct outcome by divine providence as our founding fathers were. If we keep God first and try to live up to the Christian religion and try to keep our families safe and Sacred then all will turn out in the long run. God will bless us that we will be able to overcome. The following quote shows the humility and strength that I am looking for in our leaders: I seek not for power, but to pull it down. I seek not for honor of the world, but for the glory of my God, and the freedom and welfare of my country. Please vote for and support leaders who uphold these values. I don't blame the woman for stepping down with all the 3rd grade finger pointing and name calling the media pulled on her during and AFTER the election, seriously how many of us would've put up with that crap for that long? And how many of us would've dared run for office if one of are kids got pregnant outside of marriage?
This woman has ethics, guts, and is an unorthodox politician. She's got my vote if she runs again for a higher office. Although I have a feeling she may be done with office politics, she might stick to something a little more privet sector like organizing and informing the people, either way she's got my support.

What's left of the "Republican" party has fallen in line behind the Democrats. I agree that they have no guts to challenge anything the Dem's throw at them, let alone challenging "The Messiah", himself. There has been speculation that S. Pailn has resigned to focus on 2012. I hope so…and I hope they can pair her up with someone better than John "Yosemite Sam" McCain. I thought he was decent enough of a candidate, but it turns out to be anything but. I cannot believe how the RINOS turned their back on her when she was under attack. If we never hear from her again, I couldn't say I blame her, but we need someone like her who is willing to stand up against the morons currently occupying this government.

It really disgusts me that media again telling us what we can do and not do. Again the POLITICAL leaders are saying Sarah has to play the game the way they want it done. It's worth a look, it has promise and if we all get together we can make this happen. We can then implement the plan in our own cities, towns, states, the Senate. Unfortunately she is going to be SEVERELY chastised for leaving office in near mid-term and that is going to be used as a club against her in any political arena. Her excuses for leaving office just don't make sense. I was a loyal supporter of her, even in defeat, but I will have to give some serious thought to whether I can support her in the future.

I guess no one remembers that Obama and Biden both left the Senate in mid-term to pursue a higher office. She was draining the coffer at taxpayers expense. She left to keep from further spending tax payers money. I don't think that will be a problem to defend. You ever notice you can't pry out a Democrat from a public office even with the jaws of life? They will take down every iota of honor their office once held in order to keep power.
The state of Alaska had paid $2,000,000 to defend the bogus 'ETHICS' charege. The Palins have logged attorney fees in excess of $500,000…………………..what ,exactly, would you have done in the same situation?

I hope you do give it some serious thought and decide to support her. Because what she did was the right thing. She put her state, taxpayers and family ahead of herself. If she is planning on running for a national office, then she would be using taxpayer money to do that for the last couple years of her term. How many politicians are willing to give up their seat and paycheck in order to run for office. I think every politician should be made to leave office if they are going to run for a different position. If she is not running for office, she still did the right thing, because the nonsense suits being brought against her was only costing the taxpayers and her family so much money. Obama, kept his senate seat, used our money and voted absent so that he could run for president. He has proven that he doesn't care about spending our money and he is still campaigning!! The part of Illinois that he was senator for was not represented for years while he campaigned.

This is the exact opposite of Obama's approaches—the EXACT opposite. And it was strongly suggested that Obama never really worked–had little to no experience in the Senate and there he is now, an elected President. She can do as much if she works hard to prove that she is different and in fact better than what we are getting used to in Obama. I was shocked when I heard the news. I must admit though, I don't' see any way she could win. If she had continued to occupy the office, she'd be accused of using the Alaskan taxpayer's money to defend herself. Stepping down, she's accused of being a quitter, or of having some other motive.
As Gov Huckabee said in the Chris Wallace interview, the opposition, if it can't argue against policy and politics, will simply tie one up in court. This costs the taxpayers money and also the individual. The entire Democrat machine was brought to bear against Palin. That cost Alaska over 2million and the Palin family over 1/2 million. Remember Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher? All he did was ask a question and SOMEBODY tried to ruin his life!
Power abuse for the purposes of retaining or acquiring power is a form of corruption that presents as much of a threat to the American way of life as selling secrets to the enemy. It is on par with treason. The Republican party could have done SOMETHING to help, but since she scares them as much as she does the Democrats, they elected to do nothing. If the DNC is guilty of a crime on par with treason, the RNC is guilty of complicity.
People engaging in this kind of power abuse should be tried for SOMETHING! At the very least they have willfully filed false statements/complaints, filed frivolous suits, and intentionally interfered with the normal operations of an official government agency. This is a form of political terrorism, nothing less If convicted, they should face the maximum penalty.
BUT…. I don't hear anyone hollering about "Hate Speech" like they did when people were complaining about Obama's policies. (and we actually complained about his POLICIES). There were REAL concerns about Obama and his loyalties. The complaints against Palin were BASELESS, and those who filed those complaints knew it!
The very fact that we now live in a country where it is acceptable to conduct politics this way indicates that we have already lost the fight. The corruption has become so complete that this form of treachery has become an acceptable norm of operations and is not recognized as the high-crime that it is, and carry the same penalty.
That is why here in America there is one lawyer for every 200 people…vs 1 for every 10,000 in Japan. That is why health care is even on the table…LAWSUITS…that cripple doctors, hospitals, and other care providers. That is why here in America you can go to prison for shooting a cat…and get government funding for killing an unborn human being. That is why we pass out condoms in school with one hand and toss out the Bible with the other hand…and then we wonder why someone like (Palin) with actual CHARACTER, who comes done the pike once in a generation…and gets frustrated by this dog-eat-dog system…which not only dissed her politics, but then went after her children and husband as well. We have a 'cancer' eating us here in America, folks.

Trotter = not smart enough to get it. Sarah has more brains in her little finger then most of these so called 'reporters.' That said, John McCain and the GOP abandoned Sarah after allowing her to be dragged through the mud. None of them stepped forward to offer help with her legal bills, believe me, McCain could have helped, I always appreciated him for being a War Hero; what she got instead was some in the McCain camp come out to trash her further. Where was the GOP and McCain during all this? They should be hanging their heads in shame, but they won't. I do not blame her for resigning her GOP Governorship, in fact, I applaud her. Now she can say what she wants, expose who she wants, and also plan on what to do to help keep our Constitution in tact. I wonder about alot who have the power and ability and just don't. I personally don't have the education and the money to fight it on a personal level. But many do, and don't. I feel at times, just as much a sheep to the slaughter as others.

I would guess that 75% of the people on this site and other sites like it don't want anything to do with either of the two major parties. They are looking for a true conservative and Palin has the star power to be that leader. I know that a thrid party is a long shot so is everything else that she has done.

I believe that Sarah will spend her time well as usual. I believe she may work for conservatives, Reagan Republicans, independents, but never Democrats to get them elected to office. This would help stop the destruction of our country and if we still are able to vote in 2012 she will have much support. She should take about 10 minutes and learn what our glorious leader knows about foreign policy and statesmanship and then go on to far surpass him in these areas. If she stays the same woman she is now except for the growth (she doesn't need growth to be better than Obama) , I say SARAH PA LIN FOR PRESIDENT IN '12.
Good post. I think Sarah Palin will be the force that brings the Republican Party together. She will be the force that inspires Congressmen and Senators to rise up stronger against the BH0 agenda. She may become a consultant to conservative governors. And she just might lead a new energy independence movement in the country. She has accomplished much in that field, and is now free to take what she knows to the lower 48. I, too, have wondered from time to time if BH0 will simply announce that voting is unnecessary, and eliminate it.

I literally kissed the ground when I left that state…..and thanked God I got out of there. I'm waiting to kiss the ground when I leave this hell hole, because it's no different. Greta/Fox had an interesting special on last night about Palin. She turned in a couple crooked republican politicians. She is a true patriot and honest (probably only one) politician. That is why they are all against her. Which gives me even more reason to vote for her. I am going to try to contact her and let her know that if she runs for a national office, I would like to volunteer to work on her campaign in any way I can.

Glenn has continually asked, "what politician will stand up for us?" I think Sarah Palin has answered that call. The barbarians are at the gate, and someone has to take the lead against this new fascism. Some pundits say she should ride out her term as Governor, as if this election has turned over the reins of government to a benign political power, so just go with the flow. Well it hasn't. Where are the Republican leaders? Romney, who I like, is staying within the normal power structure, and not standing up as a leader, i.e., he's being conventional. Conventional won't cut it. I believe that Sarah Palin understands this, and will be stepping forward into a vacuum created by lack of testosterone within the Republican party. She has an opportunity to be a rallying point, and push, via popular sentiment within the non-Fascist electorate, necessary change within the Republican party, to re-route its progressive journey back to one that reflects the real America. The only thing that makes any political sense is that Sarah is planning to run for President as an independent or a thrid party canidate. Thrid parties are usually not very sucessful in the US but with so many people angry at both the Democrats and the Republicians, she might be able to make it work.

That does not make any sense. She will not abandon the Republican Party, even though many in it have abandoned her. Third party is dead in the water for 2012. Maybe if one starts now, and really works at and perseveres, a third party will be ready for a serious WH run by, maybe, 2020. Third party candidates cannot even make it to Congress or the Senate in any numbers, so what makes you think the WH is remotely possible in the near future?

You'd think the movement has not grown, let alone even taking place.
I notice that the tea party in my area has been grabbed by an 18 year old wannabe republican politician. He is sponsored and pushed out there by other prominent republicans for the "family business" to continue. The Republican Party left us, and now they fear us. They are trying to con us into believing they are, and always were all about us. Some may buy it, I think a vast majority will not. I expect this movement will grow regardless. When Hannity introduced Newt at Atlanta, Newt was booed. They don't get us.
The far-left has things like in Metblog – "Tea baggers take it on the chin in L.A." The far-left calls us domestic terror-ists. They call us racists. Cities and far-left property owners deny permits to us so that we cannot stand together, and let our collective voice sound in protest and solidarity. We will not stop. We will not be co opted. We will not surrender our principles and values to toe a party line, nor will we blindly vote along those lines. We are made up of all parties and all races. We are 9/12ers dammit, and we will not give in!
This post is more personal than political.
I run a retail store in Magee, Ms. That is 9 miles north of Steve McNair's home town of Mt. Olive. Steve only came to my store a few times but he has a huge family. Dozens of his Aunts, Uncles and cousins shop with me very often. His mother comes in about once a week. One would expect the family of a NFL hero to be really stuck up, but that family is not. They are down to earth Christian people.
It was a shock to learn that Steve McNair was murdered. My heart goes out to that great family. I am sure I will see many of them soon and will express my sorrow in person but I also want to make it public here too.
On national web sites like this people tend to think large scale, especially when talking about nationally known people. The trouble is that our nation was intended to be a collection of local areas. We want Sarah Palin to rise up and become a great national leader, but she knows that it is the local areas where the rubber really hits the road. I hope and suspect that she resigned as governor to help local conservative candidates win all across our fruited plains.
Now that a clown represents MN in the senate she may see it as her mission to save the senate in 2010. I suspect she will not only be in senate races but house races. (Watch Jack Murtha). If she has time she may even pick a few state legislature races to lend a small hand to.

I was having the same problem of trying to figure out why so many are against her. I watched the Greta/Fox special tonight on Sarah. The one thing that struck me the most was that she was able to get some crooked politicians out of office. There are so many (most) politicians that are crooked, that between all of them and the media they have been able to press for this character assassination. That would explain why both Democrats and Republicans have joined in. So many people are gullable and believe what they see on TV, they just follow along. After this special, I am more for Sarah Palin than I ever have been.
