Nero and his servants are fiddling while the Constitution burns, and this nation loses it's identity. I wonder how much longer Obama will blame it on the Christians, and just how soon we will be rounded up and used as torches to light DC.
This is why they HATE Sarah Palin. She would put an end to it all. She already gave up her jet when no one new her name. What one does when no one is looking is true character. She also kicked the cook out. So no wonder Alaska loves her. They are not funding lavish expenses like trips to Italy (Pelosi)
There was once a time when it took a Constitutional amendment (the 18th one) to ban alcohol, and another one (the 21st) to undo it.
Compare that to today, where government can ban, subsidize, take over, and regulate any product, business, or person it wants to.
The problem isn't money, it's the whole idea of a "living Constitution", and judges who "reinterpret" the Constitution based on "evolving standards" and turn the limitations on government which are essential to our Republic on it’s head. We need a President who'll sweep away the scum from the courts and restore our Republic.
Never before this year have I ever felt before that Washington looks like royalty and we must be serfs. They spend billions, and we get increased taxes and inflation. I almost expect Nancy Pelosi to utter the words of Marie Antoniette. "What the people have no bread to eat? Well, let them eat cake."
Or Barack Obama responding to high gas prices by saying "Well let them inflate their tires".

This has been going on for some time, apparently. If they had not yelled at the auto-CEO's about flying in on corporate jets, this would never have surfaced. It is obviously escalating, and perhaps that sense of entitlement to taxpayer-funded world tours by MichelleMyBelle is contagious. They are all just taking a bigger and bigger piece of our pie! In these times, why the Galapagos? That one really mystifies me.
Remember Eco-Tourism? This is one of the popular hot spots along with Polar Bear photo trips for the Eco wackos to travel to. This is to show their superiority and get their greenie-weenie credentials for the Earth-firsters and the rest of the tree hugger base.
I wish they'd just stay there, and take the granola crowd with them.
Another possibility for the Galapagos is it might be another needed secret alliance for Obama, along with his alliance with Cuba, Venezuela and the deposed socialist in Honduras. Since Obama has upset our normal allies of the Uk and Israel and refused dinner with the French leader, he has to get alliances where he can. Makes one wonder if maybe a turtle on the Galapagos is a socialist who needs Obamas help to put communism in there. If so, he could give them Acorns and John Podestas phone numbers. Yeah, I know – I'm being far too soft here on Obama.

After McHugh's sell-out vote to the enviro-nazis, I no longer even want one, and as for Schumer, well, I'd just have to barf or something if he replied. I rather like being old and cranky. We're dealing with an administration whose credo is do as I say not as I do. Ayear ago, I would have never imagined this country taking such a downward spiral. Now, I write and e-mail my Represenative and Congress frequently. Sometimes Iget replies back, sometimes I don't. When I do get a reply it is just spin on the popular democratic thinking. Of course, they get an answer to that.
I like the ideas on this forum. I have sent money to Ms. Palin. I sent form letters to my represenatives and senators and I enjoyed the tea party. I have never been so involved with politics in all of my life and yet this government continues in its downward spiral.

I am all for (State Rights) for enforcement of the 10th Amendment by all states or secession of fiscally responsible states. Once TX secedes, then it can protect its southern border again illegals and its northern border against socialists.

Obama is typical of the over educated. They love to point out the obvious. He now says unemployment will hit 10%, since we are at 9.5%. He will then come out and say that unemployment will hit 12%, when it is at 11.5%. He loves to wait and see what happens, before he makes a statement. I'll tell you folks, if a weatherman waited to forecast the weather so you could look out your window and agree with him on just how hot or cold it was outside, he would not have a job.
Fellow Patriot Greg, you reminded me of an old joke about the weatherman who didn't have a barometer, a temperature gauge a wind gauge or any radar data…..he just had a rock outside his home . If the rock was cold, he predicted low temperatures, if the rock was hot, he said it was sunny, if the rock was wet he said it would rain.

If I recall, Obama said the stimulous package would create 3 million new jobs and unemployment would not go above 8%. Then he "changed" and said it would create or "save" 3 million jobs and unemployment would be 8 1/2%. Today, he "changed" again and said 1900 new jobs were created with the stimulous, all while 400,000+ people were laid off in June. Oh, and he said unemployment will only hit 10%. WOW !!! So we can reduce the 400,000+ by 1900. Now that's one great stimulous deal I guess, so long as you aren't one of the 9.5% who are unemployed !!! AND, let's all act surprised, today he blamed all of this on, who else, Bush. Where I grew up our weathermen always gave us a 50/50 chance of rain, snow, ice, hot, cold and blah blah blah. That way they always had themselves covered. Maybe Obama should follow in their footsteps. That would be "change" you can believe in.
Gregory, I agree with your point but it is worse than that which you state. Weathermen will tell you it will rain tomorrow. When tomorrow comes and it isn't raining, they will tell you it isn't raining. The next day they will tell you that it didn't rain the day before. This process works in reverse with Obama.
Obama tell's us that the sun will shine tomorrow. When tomorrow comes and the sun isn't shining, he tells us the sun isn't shining. Next day, Obama then tells us the sun didn't shine the day before, but it will tomorrow. Then the Obama cycle repeats.

Please check out this website. http://goooh.com It is a website called "Get Out Of Our House" it was authored by Tim Cox as a means to get out the message that there is a plan to replace all 435 members of our house of representatives with people that we feel will truly represent us. The book "Revolution, Get Out Of Our House" also by TIm Cox outlines the plan to make this happen. I am in the process of reading the book (about 1/2 way done) and it does appear that it can work. We need to stop allowing the pundits to perpetuate the myth that we must be either "Democrat" or "Republican" to get elected and that third parties only act as a spoiler. We need to work together whether we are liberal or conservative we need to find common ground because currently we don't have anyone acting in the best interest of either party. Please let me know if you find this worth your time. I think it could actually work for city and state replacement of career politicians as well.

The politicians' seem totally oblivious to the seriousness of the financial problem. They spend our money like there is no end to our money. The federal government seems to be the only industry with no spending changes or limits.
They don't understand economics. They believe in Keynesian economics, and think that massive government spending is the answer to everything. So in their own sick way, they think that by living like Hollywood celebrities they are helping to "stimulate" the economy.
I guess I never thought of their crazy spending habits like that. It does make sense. I remember Obama saying that his "stimulus" package was the answer, as the REpublicans had it all wrong. The only way to fix this economy was for the government to spend money.
They want more of our money so they can spend it. WE have to cut back and make sacrifices "for the greater good" yet they continue to spend us into oblivion for their own personal gain. This is NOT what Congress was intended to do. We need term limits very badly! Vote all the bums out!

The sad fact is the only part of our government that does not need reform is the one thing we are not using, the Constitution. Every politician beyond a second term needs to be bounced from office. The grift is of epic proportions. There is nobody we can trust on either side right now.
I agree, but we must be calculated about the ousting—otherwise, we will end up with 100 senators like Stuart Smalley. And I don't know too many who can run for office and withstand the blisters of getting their feet held to the fire in the vetting process. And way too many want public office to meet interesting Argentines and strippers (along with a few male paiges). Everyone seems to have 'statist' fever, growing government to unprecedented levels of greed, corruption and hypocrisy.
Right now, so many are getting by with un-employment…..but when that reprieve is gone…..watch out., Literal survival is at stake. Hope is gone. and shovels aren't ready. it is time we start voting these people out. Now is the time to start getting a real good look at the people in our very own little communities and finding people we can look into directly. That way when it comes time to vote if we don't like the balloted individuals, we can get together and truely select someone with the citizens best interests. We still have the ability to use write-ins, we don't have to accept the clowns who continuously show up on our ballots. 1 representitive per 30,000 people. Even with gerrymandering (see pandabeads post below), we as a group should be able to find and promote 1 honest person from among our local citizenry. Then maybe we can get some proper districting back in place as well as many other things. I also came across this. GOOOH.com. Cannot at this time find anything unlegit with it. If anyong has any honest knowledge of this organization and is willing to share I would like more info. It seems like a good tool.

I am reading the book right now and it really seems like a good system. The book is $14.95 and I got it at my local Borders. I agree that e-mails/phonecalls are screened and ignored. Only a physical march on DC will force them to listen to us. Unfortunately the next Tea Party, which is tomorrow, is being held on a holiday when Congress isn't even there.

I love the United States and I am proud to be an American!!! But I have lost all faith in politicians and their motives. Most Americans have cutback on their lifestyles and spending. I have yet to see that from the Government? Cap & Tax will hurt this country even more with higher unemployed.

Let's start to take back our country. In 2010 refuse to vote for any member of Congress who has served 2 terms. Let you political party know they have to run someone else. Send them home, they are not indespensible!
It seems to me that government officials spend without regard to the people who elected them. Many take advantage of the system, so they and their families can vacation at our expense.
I'm not against government officials going places on tax dollars, but it had better be legit. I think there should be close scrutiny on each trip taken. We the people have a right to know where our tax dollars are going and if officials are abusing this perk, then they should be held accountable.
This doesn't pertain to this subject – sorry everyone – but I had to share this as I sit here and laugh. I saw a headline today that said: "Calif. Rep. Waxman hospitalized after fainting". He must have gotten an "IOU" payment in the mail today from his dem friends in California and the bank wouldn't cash it. Git-R-Done !!!

Some travel is reasonable. However, shouldn't members of congress and their spouses fly military transport, the way the military flies? In a perfect world, members of Congress and United States Senators would stop and think before they fly! Of course, I don't live in a perfect world and people who are firmly entrenched in their offices get addicted to the perks and don't stop to think how spending tax payer money is a sacred stewardship! In this age of modern technology, there is absolutely no reason for all the these travel expenses. They have conference calls, web cams, etc. No excuses! I give credit to a new site I found articles like this on, http://www.americanparchment.com. They have made me open my eyes to the types of things that are happening in Washington and around the country and I can't believe that Obama can say this country is doing so much better and that the economy is returning. The unemployment went into the 300K last month but again it rockets to another 400k this month, I am part of this statistic and we need to figure out a way out.

Works for me. We sure can't continue as a country under Nobamessiah rule. We do have a clause in our Constitution providing for division into a total of 6 states. Depending on the state lines we might get 3 or 4 of those as primarily conservative states which would give us more Congress critters…that would be fine if they had OUR interests at heart and could take the majority from the liberals in DC now. I would LOVE to see a strong conservative 3rd party emerge from this mess. The two party system, each side barely discernable from the other, is completely broken.
They were talking about this today on Fox and said some of the MSM is upset that Obama is being more attentive to more "liberal" reporters such as the Huffington Post. I guess the MSM is starting to feel the tire treads on their faces as they get thrown under the bus by Obama. But, we will see if they in fact do wake up and see what they helped get elected. But don't expect NBC, MSNBC, New York Times and some others to "change". I think that tingle going up Chris Matthews (???sp) leg will never go away. Oh yes, and the press was saying that the hug Obama gave the woman with cancer at his town hall gave them tingles as well. What a guy !!! He so cares for the "small" people of America … NOT !!!

I see this much the same as most of the people on this site. This is definately a worldwide effort to construct a world government at the expense of our constitutions. One world government, with alot of helpers, one world currency, and we, the plebs, working for them, in jobs they alot us, for pay they decide.

There's something good about getting older. I cringe when I think about much time and energy I wasted, being the right weight, wearing the right clothes, whatever…..and believe me, I was vain as vain could be. Once my parents died….it changed. I finally realized, it doesn't matter what I say or do, how good and well preserved I am….there are those, who I don't like anyway, who will always find fault, and those who care for me, no matter what. Best to put the effort to things, and people, that matter.
Well, that's because they taught us that in school. I took the challenge to pass the citizenship test because so many said the citizens of this country country couldn't do it. I missed 1. We had to pass the Constitution before you could graduate, as well your States Constitution. We had to memorise the Gettysberg Address etc. I do admit I'm not up on alot of things because I'm not used to the break-up of Russia and some other places and those countries names. I knew they weren't teaching much of history at all with my own kids. They knew everything but what size of underware MLK wore, but never heard of Abe Lincoln.
