“You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.”
“You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money. “

The “Stimulus” is an illusion. The Administration is using this Economic downturn to advance their socialist agenda and kill the free-market economy. The effect of the stimulus will be to make more people dependent on government. We need self-reliant, responsible citizens; not more drones.

To stimulate the Economy, get our businesses producing goods and services again by reducing business and capital gain taxes.

The Government is at war with the people. And we the people are burying our heads in the sand.

I urge everyone to look at this bill again. When I initially read the bill it seemed like there was a time limit to spend the money and then if it was not spent it would go back to the task force (you know the one Joe heads inside the White House) to use the money as they seem fit without the approval of Congress. I reread it and atleast the Secretary is allowed to readjust the way the money is spent and without the aproval of Congress. I read the first 300 pages of the initial bill but only looked over the final draft the other day. This may explain why the money has been slow to get out.

The imminent collapse of this country will have the greasy thumbprints of the Democratic (Commun-st) party all over it.

    • bluejoni2525 says:

Obama is just trying to fix the awful mess that was left to him.

      • Nomarxism says:

Sorry bluejoni2525. Obama did not inherit a mess, he is presiding over a mess caused by him and his own narcissistic party. You need to get some new talking points. The "Bush did it" chant heard from the Obama cabal is getting old LOL. Maybe you could blame it on Palin LMFAO

  7. Nomarxism says:

Even Obama's idiot supporters will begin to wake up when the goose that lays the golden egg (now on life support) is finally killed. Of course by then usurper obama and his cabal of multiculturalism affirmative action liars and thieves will have completely destroyed anything resembling our former glorious Republic. Question: When does the well armed million man Obama brown shirt army get officially announced? They had a dress rehearsal at the polls in Philadelphia and that went very well.

  8. eeein says:

French government run AIRBUS planes falling out of the sky! (Of course the positive side of this is that the cost to fly in an Airbus should be falling fast too if you want to take your chances!!!) … LET'S HOPE THAT OBAMA DOESN'T GET HIS HANDS ON BOEING!!!

  9. Barb66 says:

I think BHO sends out the stimulus in small amouts because he will lose fewer points with the public. You see he thinks we are all stupid. Non of that package is going to do anything for WE THE PEOPLE. I wonder how he is going to fund ACORN as they have dismantled themselves and gone global. They are called COI now. I wonder who is going to receive the stimulus money now. HA HA!! I hope COI isn't going to do the census as they are global. Glen said they would dismantal and he was right. So much for the GREAT SPENDING PACKAGE!!

    • Hobbes says:

Thanks, Barb66, for informing us about the name change. I, for one, hadn't been aware of it, and your post sent me googling to bring myself up to date.

We can hope they mean to expand their reach internationally. That should thin out their presence here a bit and given that at least some of Europe is moving to a more conservative position we can hope they'll get their butts kicked over there. Hold it! What am I doing, expressing some HOPE from ACORN's CHANGE? I need some rest.

  11. MikeinIdaho says:

" Ms Romer, an expert on monetary policy, said she thought the risk of inflation was “very low”. "
You have GOT to be kidding me! That moron actually SAID that? And the article says she's "an expert on monetary policy"? In what universe?
And the printing presses keep pumping out more and more useless dollars.

  12. Rogers_Sense says:

One of these days now we will realize that the worst crook of this year was not Bernie Madoff but the crew that put together and passed the 2009 Stimulus bill, with Bernie Madoff still finishing Second (The Dirt bag). the Stimulus package was the worst case of Government graft and corruption in the history of the United States!

We all got taken by this the equivalent of a $23,000 loan but they gave us each $800 to $1,600 spread over two years, on top of that $23,000 we have to pay interest.

A loan shark can give you a much better deal!!

    • DonnCooper says:

Bernie Madoff is a saint compaired to the Washington Group that put together 2009 Stimulus Bill. Maybe they should be sentenced to 150 years! Oh thats about how long it will take our children to pay for the 2009 Stimulus Bill

I disagree with Ms Romer – hopefully they don't have a "long period of time to figure out what to do". Their time is running out on this group of idiots.

  15. ChrisTyd says:

The stimulus was not a stimulus it was an economic sedative!!

    • witerose says:

If they would have given alot more to the people who really need it then the economy probably would have picked up very quickly. It's all about control who are we kidding right?

  16. bawnyfwank says:

yeah when pigs fly. Oh wait, that one already happened.

I bet by the time midterm elections roll around it will really kick in.
    The Audacity of Bullsh*t

  17. I think we've got it figured out here; They are basically passing legislation that they think will make them look good to their constitutents and the UN, will pay for their votes in one way or another, and will increase their power. In 2010, it'll be time to purge them from their offices. Remember that there are some patriots in office. They're discernable from the others, and we'll need them to stay, to help us recover.
The boards seem to help with the sharing of ideas between leaders, but it seems to me that the real impact is made when you share these ideas, and act, with your fellows. Thanks Glenn! Thanks 9/12ers, and God bless!

  18. htrn says:

They got one part of the statement right. The stimulus is about to kick in. We're going to have to start servicing all of the debt that we have created. We're going to start paying higher prices due to the inflation that is going to become rampant. All of this is thanks to the stimulus (among other measures that have been meted out by our loving dictators … oops, I mean "representatives").

  19. DonnCooper says:

Stimulus Is About To Kick In?
Are we stupid! Who believes this crap!
GET THESES PEOPLE OUT OF GOVERNMENT!

  20. goldnhorde says:

"I will glady pay you tuesday for a hamburger today", says Obama should be the headline for every paper across the nation. I'm glad that people are starting to call the debt he caused HIS DEBT. I'm glad that people are starting to call the huge auto debacle that he caused HIS MISTAKE THAT NO ONE ELSE APPROVED OF. This is the end of the line this year. by the end of year one, any reported support of Obama will be cooked statistics. Everyone should be getting their little check and will be sitting looking at chump change and then hearing about what cap and trade will be costing them ….. then looking at that check again ….. then getting out a calculator perphaps.

But these scumbags are actually playing the lottery now, trying to put off any expectations … preparing more "it's coming , i swear" speeches for if nothing happens …. and "LOOK WHAT WE DID" speechs if the free market pulls itself around naturally.

the end result is these guy did nothing to help anything in any constructive way

  21. LadyIzShy says:

ok I live in MI where unemployment is now at 14.1% and in MY county OVER 16%. My hous eis PAID for. Thank God. I pay cash for EVERYTHING. I work out of my home and let me tell you I am having a hard time paying MY bills. If others do not work I do not work. Yet the taxes go up and teh cost of EVERYTHING goes up. I do not live in luxury at all. I am one of the working poor. getting poorer. I did NOT vote for this president nor id I vote for ANY of my reps in congress. I have never been one to speak out on politocs but I am now. yet I feel like NOBODY listens to me or you. The cap and trade bill was my breaking point. I am about ready to give up. I calll I write I contact my reps and tell them I will work to get them out of office if they do not listen to the people yet they do what they are PAID to do. yes I think they are paid off for thier votes. I am TIRED of fighting them and never winning. ech day I question if it is doing any good and at the end of the day I say NO it did no good. I do not know how much longer I can keep doing it

  22. OldMarine says:

People, People don't you remember the great government philosopy(sp), "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" and the "check is in the mail". Well, according to this the check IS in the mail, but it is truly going by "snail" mail except if you are ACORN and other special groups then it was sent by wire. Of course, this money is needed immediately for those that supported BH0, because they have to continue sitting on the porch enjoying a nice life and helping to spread the Libs propaganda while other Americans continue to work to make sure the money keeps coming in. Another thing people are forgetting, this money will really began to kick in when the Crap and Tax bill is enacted, then the money will be going to G.E. (Government Electric) to start monitoring and controlling the power grid, as well as more money going to ACORN so their people can pay for the utilities, while the rest of us are using candles and wood to stay warm. Yep, the "check's in the mail' and the "government is helping us"….NOT
"Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them."…Ronald Reagan

  23. RNHunter says:

I saw a CEO of a fortune 500 company do this – blame everyone else while the company stock dropped by a factor of three and the company workers cut in half. Whenever someone does not own up to responsibility, they are simply incompetent. The first figures are now in. IRS income in April dropped 34%, while unemployed rose well over Obama's promised 8% to 9.4% and is still rising. Thousands were let go at the two large auto makers, and I for one do not see how they can survive after government fiddling. 80,000 workers in California are laid off due to Democrats wish in ecology to help a 4 inch fish – apparently far more important than the human race. This is a disaster. And Cap and Tax will cause huge energy bills to consumers and companies and will cause another layoff. Printing money as he does will cause inflation which in turn will cause adjustable mortgages to start a second housing mortgage failure.

  24. Does that mean my mortgage will be paid?? Oh and will I get my free gas card in the mail soon??

    • OldMarine says:

Depends on whether you belong to ACORN or any other special put upon groups. If you are a hard working American person, who gets up everyday to go the work, lives within in your means, then I'm sorry, you will have to pay your own mortage and buy your own gas and food.

    • Jaopfer says:

I think you should tell the kids that dinner is going to be a while.

  25. mwb1951 says:

I cannot wait until fall when the government tells me that I can afford that pair of shoes I need.

  26. pslwd says:

Nothing these clowns have said has ever come true. The really sad thing is that they still blame Bush.

  27. NeverBurn2 says:

"The CEA chairman, who has forecast a sharper rebound in 2010 than most economists, said she had lowered her estimates for growth this year “and also for next year, a bit” since the start of the year. She said the consensus forecast that unemployment would continue to rise for the rest of this year and peak early next year was probably accurate."

Look! Hope! She's starting to talk like EVERY OTHER economist and lower her pie-in-the-sky optimism. Not too much, but some.

So how's abot that unemployment that was never to go above what . . .8.9%? Now it's 9.4% and climbing until early next year . . .

  28. SilentTexan says:

Oh, good what a relief! I thought that this stimulus would never turn the economy around, but it's okay guys. We can return to our greedy little lives in the next couple decades, yay! >_>
Do they really think we buy into this? Shoot, they still haven't used all the stimulus money, what are you waiting for!?
I don't think we will ever see daylight if they keep this up. Now I wasn't very good in my economics class but something tells me that when you spend lots and lots of money that you don't have it will have to be paid back, sooner or later and with this, it will hit us big time. You know I think we have been doing it the wrong way…
Everyone, send a copy of as many books that you can find that talks about financial responsibilities to this whole stinkin' administration and I'll even autograph one as a special gift to our friend Barney Farce (I mean Frank) as he will be taking on California himself to save the day.

  29. detestObama says:

Don't you believe it! With only 7% of the $787Billion going to creating jobs in the Infrastructure rebuilding, and by Obama's people saying they will put minorities ahead of trained workers. There is a provision inserted in the Stimulus bill that will also give 300,000 jobs to Illegals over our own workers is Insane.

What Stimulus? The rest of this bill is wasted on Earmarks> (PORK)

  30. TJwasright says:

“With unemployment and unused capacity high, it is not as if inflation is going to creep up on us. We will have a long period of time to figure out what to do.” – Christina Romer, White House official.

Ms. Romer must have forgotten about the economic fundamental that says when governments start printing money, inflation quickly follows. Or maybe those dang new energy-efficient light bulbs blinded her.

  31. TearEmUp says:

(In my best cockney accent) Wait for it……..

  32. OKTroy says:

I'm still wondering how they are going to slip reparations by us and how much that's going to cost? Should be interesting.

  33. knutjb says:

Duh… "Ms Romer said stimulus spending was “going to ramp up strongly through the summer and the fall”. "

How else do you (attempt to) buy the election?

'Meanwhile, David Axelrod, a senior White House adviser, told NBC Television on Sunday the administration would be open to further stimulus if needed. “Let’s see in the fall where we are, but right now we believe what we have done is adequate to the task. If more is needed, we’ll have that discussion.”"

They obviously have no clue of how much money they have blown so far in an attempt to stimulate because who in their right mind would lend us more money? Surely not the Chinese. After all they haven't raised all the money needed for the current budget let alone the stimulus or any other wacko spending on the books. Why do you think it is starting to slip that the middle class will have to get slammed to fund health care for illegals. Can't steal any more from the super rich, they have already moved their money offshore and I would too, if I had money.

  34. kenoshax says:

during the Bush administration, i had money in the bank, a small retirement account and more work than i could handle and the whole time the main stream media was telling me how terrible the economy was, now under the Obama administration, i have no money in the bank, my retirement investments have a zero balance and i am spending more time lining up work than actually doing any, and the main stream media wants me to think things are getting better. its time we face the facts and the fact is all this hype and spin is only causing confusion and misdirection and no one can focus on the real problem. and the real problem is that no one in washington wants us to focus on the real problem.

    • mellie1 says:

You know what, you are so right. When Bush was in office the stock market was above 10,000, the unemployment rate was around 6%, the only thing bad was the credit crunch where no one could borrow money. Bush tried to fix that with TARP to help the banks get rid of the toxic assets, but when Obama became prez he changed the whole plan. Instead of getting rid of the toxic assests, Obama wanted ownership in the banks and the car companies. He is dragging out this recession the same way FDR did with the Great Deppression. If he had done nothing we would already be out of the recession.

  35. Terri Rolan says:

The only thing the stimulus has done for me is to stimulate my anger!

  36. They keep telling us that the recovery is near, yet are spending our money away to a point where we will never recover. This is another example of this administration shoving crap down our throats and expecting us to take it. What will be their explanation when their stimulus and biased legislation doesn't work? What lie will they feed us next? Will it be the Republicans' fault? Libertarians? Puppies?! Who's fault will it be their policies fail? I, for one, will not believe what they tell us. I intend to educate myself so that I can recognize the lies, then try to educate my fellow citizens. The more we show people exactly how the President and his bought-and-paid-for Congress are screwing this country into the ground, the fewer there will be who are hoodwinked by these bandits.

    • Katrinka says:

It will be the Republican's fault, both because of what they've done before (Medicare part D, et al. which is a disaster) and their obstruction in not voting for the bill (which I whole-heartedly support), according to Demos.
For all you Bush/Republican cheerleaders out there, our economy is cyclical. It works all by itself, up and down. The only thing that can crush it is entitlements, which both were fond of creating/growing. Witness the Cloward-Piven strategy that ACORN (or COI, or whatever they want to call the hydra, now) uses to promote 'hope and change' in our country.
TARP wasn't ever going to save us! You can't save the free market by "abandoning free market principles." No business, regardless of how big or small, is too important to fail.

*Get them all out now! No more political dynasties, no more career politicians! No more career bureaucrats!*

    • witerose says:

All this money going out everywhere but to the people. If they would use some of that trillions of dollars and give every household an amount of money to help pay off bills or a mortgage, I think the economy would pick up. Why can't the Obama followers see this mess for what it is? I just don't get it.
I now fear for being attacked here, sad part is that would probably make Obama lose alot of his followers.
      I think….. lol

  37. Shadrach says:

How convenient this report is!! The Crap and Tax bill going to the Senate and the Obamacare/Unhealthy Care bill just waiting in the wings to be signed!! Everything is just going to be Rosy, just you wait and see!!

  38. Jerseygal says:

Romer is an 'expert,' yet says the risk of inflation is 'very low'? Every one of us here is noticing that BH0 and his staff have been continually lowering the bar of expectations? And what is this getting close to the bottom stuff? If you listen to BH0, the bottom happened in March, and he alone is responsible for recovery beginning! They all speak with forked tongues!

  39. Does this mean that all the cash that has been funneled to democrat flunkies and all the lobbiest is going to start being spent buying luxery congressional junkets, jewelry, fur coats, yaghts, private jets, male and female prostitutes and votes?
