I heard Mays died of a heart attack. I have heard of silent heart disease and I guess this is true as he died without knowing he had heart disease. Too bad He was really good at his job
It really gets to me when a decent person like Billy Mays is exploited all over the media. Have some respect, jeez. Not only that, but why spend so much time covering a single person, a celebrity (don't get me wrong, Mays was a good man). As I have said before, we have people on the other side of the world dying for a country, I haven't heard a word from them in a long while.
R.I.P. BILLY
Alright. Enough! People die every day. In fact, a bit of trivia here. Two ppl die in England each day from national health care blunders, according to "nationaldeathservice.blogspot.com. So, is all this reporting of the deaths of American national treasures another diversion tactic? My sister in England wrote today that she had heard NOTHING of the coup in Honduras in the English media (our sister is in Honduras), because the British media is distracting them with CONSTANT stories about the excesses of the ministers as a diversion from world events. My family is beginning to see the light! Are we?
From everything I've heard, Mays was a seriously decent guy–in real life. I do wish the best for his family.
Still, I am as confused about how this relates to The 9-12 Project as the coverage of Jackson, et. al. It seems the site is turning into a general news outlet–sometimes tabloid news. What is the focus here?

To answer Alison's question: Focus is on conservatism. Billy was a conservative and I believe he was on Glenn's show, and this is Glenn Becks site. News will move on with Tea Parties which I have to assemble things for to set up. Thanks for the link Alison!

If anything good comes of his death it will be that people will go get checked up/out the latest news says it was likely hypertensive heart disease (high blood pressure I believe) he was only 50 and looked healthy as a horse. BUT WAIT THEIR IS MORE go now before they tax your doctor bills
It was sad to hear of his passing. I did enjoy the ads. He was a good man, and he loved what he was doing.
they keep saying "boisterous". i just figured the guy was deaf as crap and sufferred from tone deaf disorder as well.
Still, he even made a good reality TV show ( iliked it in the same weird way i like "dragon's den"), and i really hate reality tv shows.
This is really sad. He always seemed like such a nice and honest guy. I couldn't have cared less about that loser Michael Jackson but this one is just a shame. God bless his family. I'm glad to hear he knew the Lord.
boy their just dropping left and right aren't they?
Thanks to him I'm forced to buy $9 tubs of Oxyclean every Friday! The wife uses it for everything. It does work.
That's one thing about Billy, if he endorsed it it works. Capitalism is wonderful ain't it. A man got rich pitching products he didn't even make.
Rest in Peace Mr. Mays
I couldn't mute his commercials fast enough when they came on. Had nothing against him, just the yelling! I was very sorry to hear of his death. Sounds like he was a very good person. No subdural hematoma–autopsy shows likely heart disease.
I am so bummed hearing about Billy Mays…I liked that loud man. The products he plugged were great, and he helped others in seizing opportunity to acheive success by selling a good products at a fair price. I'm really going to miss getting jolted awake at 0400 by a loud "Hi I'm Billy Mays for OxyClean!"
Don't worry – the shamu guy will take over for him.

How sad that some on this posting need to be so sarcastic… Billy Mays was a true Conservative and believed in the American dream, so much so that he helped people make their dream come true. In his private life he was known as a staunch Conservative, a man who loved God and his family and lived by a code of honor. He was known as compassionate and loyal, a true friend. He was a man that made this country better for his presence and made the lives of those around him better. How many of us can truly say that would be our legacy?
I am praying for his family and friends as they go through this devasting loss.
Thank you for sharing this news about Billy Mays, his character, his beliefs. His presence is a loss for us and a gain for heaven.
God comfort his family.
I feel so terrible for his family. His voice will be missed. In this day and age those were commercial even my Granddaughter could watch. God bless him and his.
A hard working American that finally made it big with his own TV show then is taken away at such a young age. My prayers to his family and friends. WE'LL MISS YA BILLY!
Sounds like Mr. May died of a subdural hematoma; a blow caused blood vessels in his brain to leak slowly hence the headache. He reportedly felt sleepy, something I have heard happens in these cases and eventually, the leak caused so much damage he expired. Moral of the story: if you recieve a blow to the head, be prudent and contact your physician (assuming we don't have Obamacare in which case take a number and wait and wait and wait….).
Hey guys, My kids thought he was cool.
I think Billy Mays may have been a patriot conservative. Can anyone confirm this?
Where's O'Reilly?
It is a shame about the king of infomericals. He seemed like a very happy go lucky guy. I hope he rests in peace. I am pretty sure God came use him in heaven.
He was such a goodhearted man. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He had so much to look forward too. It was such a tragic accident…You will be missed Billy
To spend your life pursuing a dream is honorable. To spend your life helping others to pursue their dream is noble. Mr. Mays spent his career helping others pursue the classic American Dream; to take an idea and market that idea on the open market. May he rest in peace in the house of God.
I will honor Ed McMahon, not because of his association with Johnny Carson, but because of his service as a Marine fighter pilot in WW 2 and again in Korea. This is what should be remembered, the service that one gives to the country to defend it. Not, whether they can sing, dance, sell products or have a pretty smile.
Some may call me heartless, but as much as I feel sorry for the families when someone passes away, I can not see any reason for the "constant" news coverage. This shows the mentality of the American people, this shows that we have come to the point in our history, that fame all important. Just because you can sing, dance, act or what ever, you are a hero. I'm sorry, I don't buy it. How many of the "greatest generation", who stormed the beaches and defended our country have passed away with barely a word. How many past leaders of the military have passed away without barely a notice. Why? They aren't noticed or mentioned because they did their jobs, defend the country, didn't ask for fame, yet some pitchman, I'm feel sorry for his family, dies and its "news". As I said in earlier posts, most Americans know more about American idol then American History. Of the four that have passed recently.

Amen! I had to flip over to HGTV and Animal Planet. I'm sick to death of hearing about Michael Jackson's death and all the darn speculation–just STFU and wait on the toxicology results. It's going to be like Anna Nicole Smith's death coverage on steroids! Even Fox News was All Mikey, All the Time! Tabloid journalism at its worst!
Oldmarine, I couldn't agree more,I wish they gave as much coverage to all our fallen solders, I'm so sick of hearing about all the celebrity that have died and weeks of the coverage, even Fox news, there is so much going on right now and all they care about is, Michael Jackson, and some women breastfeeding while drinking.
I have a feeling there won't be any news worth watching shortly.
Well said, OldMarine. I couldn't have said it better. Thank God in heaven for our service men and women.
Very, very well said. And the reply as well. I am among the many who do not give a damn who got tossed off the island, who won the Oscar, who's hot and who's not, who is sleeping with whom, who is on the cover of what (although it is a relief when it is not BH0), what Michelle is wearing, and on and on and on.
I care about my faith in God, my family, our country and the many who have served and even died for it, and a whole lot else, but those top the list.
God bless you and your voice of reason here – and Semper Fi!
Thank you. As people who read my posts know, I say what I feel.
another American Icon. This is worse than Michael if you ask me. So much for the rule of three. Ed, Farrah, Michael, and now Billy

I agree!! Was I shocked when I heard the news about Billy!! I did not know the man personally, but I felt like I did because I saw him almost every single day on the television!! I also watched "Pitchmen" and he seemed like a really nice man!! I thought the exact thing regarding the "three". What a shame! I liked everyone of them!!
God Bless!!
I as well was shocked. I watched the "Pitchman" program and he should be commended for all that he did to try to help "creative" Americans make their break. While some (like Washington) is trying to crush and destroy the creative people of this country, he did what he could to help every day Americans who came forward with new and innovative ideas. Hat's off and a big loss to us all. My condolences to his family.
So much for the rule of three is exactly what I thought…. right after I thought, NOT Billy Mays! I wonder if it will be found that the bump on his head during the hard landing was the cause. Too young at 50.
Reminds me of the Natasha Richardson accident!! Eerily similar don't you think??
I agree with Tntsgram, reminds me of the Natasha Richardson accident!! Eerily similar, don't you think??
I have to admit I took notice about Billy Mays' death. If the bonk on his head led to his death, what a shame. It does make you think head injuries, even if the victim doesn't want it, should be looked at by a doctor. Of course, after Obamacare, there won't be any to find except after a 10 month waiting period.
I think of Natasha Richardson. Possibly the same thing.
Ed, Farrah, David Carradine, Michael, and Billy. I thought there was a sixth one, hmmmm.
The impersonator, don't remember his name.
The impersonator, don't remember his name… double rule of three… no more for awhile.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he was Canadian. Rest in peace Billy.
Born July 20, 1958 in McKees Rock, PA.
I hope it's not the start of the next 3. Walter Cronkite has been "gravely" ill, so I figured he'd be # 3.
No, no, no, there were only three Ed Farrah, and Billy. Michael, was a bonus! Sorry, I know, I know, that's just mean but hey nobody ever said I was nice!
No Billy has two joining him. I heard Gail Storm died and Fred Travelena (sp) – So there are three more
WONDER WHAT BILLY IS GOING TO SELL NOW? WE'LL MISS YA BUD!
I preferred Billy to Mr. ShamWOW and to Michael Jackson. At least he was real. I hope that they find and publicize what happened to Billy–if it was a blood clot after a long flight, a bump on the head, or whatever. I know when I flew to Hawaii not too long ago, I made sure I was buckled in as much as possible during the flight, that I drank lots of water, took an aspirin before I flew and shifted my position in the seat as much as I could, sometimes standing about once an hour. Those long flights kill more folks than we'd ever think……had a friend who was in the service and he came home from a flight from Germany and keeled over the next day from an aneurysm.

Billy Mays was an American icon and was an example of the American Spirit..Whether or not you liked or used the products he promoted I have to admire his spirit and see that he was an example of the rewards of hard work and a little hustle..He was what America is all about..
So sorry to hear of the passing of Billy Mays. God bless his family.
My sincerest sympathies for his loved ones and friends. Speculation at this point regarding possible head injury from a hard landing. May his wife find peace and the answers she seeks.
He probably drank too much Orange Glo. I'm sorry!
His whiny voice drove me nuts, but I ordered the scratch remover just a few days ago. I think I am going to miss the guy even though he was irratating.
Hey that Oxyclean was crap, it never got my clothes clean. I had to use other detergent with it !!!
Just an FYI, Billy Mays did not create the products he marketed. If you had watched "Pitchman", it was the general public who either made of broke the product that was created by individuals. Test markets were used. If the public liked it, then it was marketed by Billy, if not, he would not sell the product. So please, do not blame Billy for Oxyclean, but the public who thought it worked.
It took out stains in carpet, and other fabrics.
For what its worth, my understanding is that Oxyclean is a booster – like Biz or the old 20 Mule Team Borax. I use it as such and have had amazing success at removing even set in stains without bleaching & fading colors. I Love the stuff!
You are absolutely right – You need to use it with detergent.
He lived doing what he loved to do. What more can be said?
This thought also entered my mind. Just never know with head injuries, even what we might think are slight.
Tntsgram,
Natasha Richardson came to my mind also, but, I couldn't think of her name. Thanks for the nudge.
I replied to winecup before I read your reply Tntsgram, didn't mean to repeat your post. I do agree with you though…."The New York City Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy on the Tony Award-winning actress(Natasha Richardson) Thursday. She died Wednesday at age 45. The office ruled her death accidental, citing the cause as an epidural hematoma due to a blunt impact to the head." Article published

And we appreciate it!
As with most Marines, I'm neither humble nor shy.
And we appreciate that too!
Thank you
