Obama acknowledged Friday that Iran's violent suppression of unrest would hinder progress, saying "There is no doubt that any direct dialogue or diplomacy with Iran is going to be affected by the events of the last several weeks." (Got this part out of the article)

Does anyone else find it ironic that the president is complaining about being miscast, personally attacked and vilified by Iran?
Is this not "new politics" as perfected by his very party that every other American has been privy to be they a politician or private citizen if they have an opposing opinion to their own?

How is this the headline not cap and trade, nationalized health care, ACORN–now COI, or any of the other government scams?
I know this is off topic…but is anyone else up for ckecking the "African American" box on next year's census. I just thought it would be fun to list bogus stuff EXCEPT for the number of people living in our household since that is all the government needs to know. I'm wondering if there is a question on what car you drive so I can list "Soy powered Flinstone mobile" I am kind of conflicted since I would be breaking 1 of the principles of being honest.

There is good therapy in thinking those kinds of things. I do it all the time. It took most of my life to learn not to speak everything I think, or act on all my thoughts! It remains an ongoing battle.
Iran can 'meddle' in Iraq's affairs and in ours thru OPEC, but when Obama says tsk tsk, that is evidence of Meddling? Obama should realize the snakes that he is dealing with. You cannot talk or negotiate with terrorists. They always have the elements of horror and surprise on their side and weak, ineffective action on our own. Bush had the right idea.
I do not believe Maobama's response to Ahmadinejad is intentionally weak. I believe he is complicit. Maobama's vision of America includes an elite ruling class responsible for the welfare of the masses. He is quiet because his philosophy is not the same but similar in many aspects to the government in Iran. He wants to crush the concept of individualism to be replaced with collective ideologies. It's not in him to disagree because he knows there will eventually be blood shed in this country once the soft Marxist revolution nears completion.
My question is does anyone else feel as I do that the U.S. is not as protected now that Obama is in control? I don't know, Obama seems like such a wimp. At least when Bush was in charge, I felt a bit safer than I do now. I wonder who will attack us first, Iran or North Korea OR will it be someone or some group from within our own country? Either way, we are in BIG trouble because all Obama will do is invite them to lunch!!!

You made a good point and I do believe God is in control, but it gets hard sometimes controlling my anger when I see what is happening to us. It seems that every time I turn on my T.V. I hear something that makes my blood boil!! I almost feel as though I am living in a dream and I wish I would wake up already!!!

…you're right. I think a few of the missiles EGObama wants to DISARM should make things right. He might have to throw in a few cows (which will help us with our CO2 emissions) and a chicken or two. You know, with North Korea ramping up NOW would be a great time to dismantle our missile system.

Obama may get around to this problem after he finishes work on his most pressing objectives namely transforming this country into a Mar-ist third world hell hole with him as the despot in chief. The Iranians are on their own unless they need a good teleprompter reading filled with vague and dismissive nonsense.
We are currently looking at N Korea rattling its sabers to the west, Iran rattling to the East. Either one is a "real" threat, add to this the destruction of America from an out of control regime (government is too polite a word) and what do you get, fear, and maybe panic among some Americans. What better way to gain control of the populace, have them living in "fear", BH0 has used it to push thru the porkulus, and other controls. Now, I don't scare easily, and would venture to say most people in America don't scare easily. I have said this many times and I'll keep saying, either Iran nor N. Korea pose a major threat to America, but our Allies, Japan & S. Korea in the west and Isreal in the East is another story, These are the ones that will show BH0's true face if he allows them to be attacked and does not respond. If he doesn't then America will truly be alone, for no one will trust us.
As usual, good take on the situation. Sooner or later, Americans must realize that BH0 is using fear. We know it here, the pundits talk about, FoxNews commmentators allude to it. Sure hope it is soon or it will be too late!
We have to stand firm, not just for ourselves, but for our families also!!! I know I crow about this from time to time, but my wife and I, God willing, will be grandparents in about four months. This has me concerned for my daughter and her family, it reinvigorates me to stand taller and speak out more. I'm calling my Senator in the morning and writing emails again to others. We must fight this to the bitter end, and either way, we can say we did what was right!! We can look our families in the eye and tell the truth, we done our best!!! If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” Obama is taking us down the path to destruction. And, quite frankly…I think he knows of what he does!
You are right, North Korea and Iran have leaders very similar to Saddam Heussen who warned America HE would destroy us. Well, I'm sorry, where is HE now? North Korea and Iran are not so foolish (yet) to REALLY test us. They know if they did…they would suffer the same fate as Saddam Heussen. Not because of this President…but, because the PEOPLE of America would see to it.
I dont fear direct from Iran and NK but indirect is always a possibility. If you have seen the movie Red Dawn you might understand where I am coming from. They are making a remake of this movie by the way. In Red Dawn the enemy snuck up from the border and invaded us. One of the frist things they did was go after the registered gun owners. Our borders are a long way from being secure and now they have groups like Hesbollah training in Latin America.

Vary close, because several of the Blue Dog Democrats, who have more sense, voted NO on the bill. Two Republican Representatives, both from the state of Maine, voted yes?__ If the public has any sense, they would call, or fax their Senator, and voice their opinion as NO, when the same bill goes to the Senate. This crazy bill most be stopped. Unlike what the President, and Al Bore says, it will cost every citizen at least a couple of Grand $ per year. They are lieing, with smoke screens, trying to convince the public, this bill is necessary! Don't be fooled by their rhetoric!

I guess I should say, when this website was having problems was when I wrote this comment, but could not upload it, and to my surprise, a couple days later, the comment was still there, so I tried again, and it went on this subject!
Iran's response, he says, will be strong, crushing, one that will cause remorse, if Obama doesn't stop criticizing the way that the Iranian regime deals with protesters. You can be sure that Obama will do as he's been told, and shut up. Whether he fears the threatened response or not is almost beside the point. Obama seeks the same dictatorial control here. His election has brought out the international school-yard bullies, and his real goal is to operate as they do. Will he get by with it? Not without a fight such as hasn't been seen here since he 1860's. I'm hoping there's an alternative, but I'm beginning to doubt it.

While listening to christian talk radio the other day one guest was an Iran native. When asked by a caller if Iranians even want the freedom we enjoy here he explained that maybe 50% do and probably 50% dont. He explained for that to happen a majority of the country would have to turn their backs on the religion they were brought up with and that would be a real hard thing for them to do. I really could understand this point. Imagine being taught one thing one way your whole life and believing in it in a way most Americans wouldn't comprehend and then all of a sudden just deciding it was a bunch of bumpkiss. It would be hard to do.
That's pretty much what Obama expects us to do since he say our country isn't Christian anymore. Apparently we ARE muslim, though, according to Obama. I will NEVER turn my back on Christianity, just as most of the muslims will not turn their backs on Islam.
Hmmmm….interestingly enough this is the same principle I apply to our progressive public education in the US. Those of us publicly educated in our hijacked school systems face the challenge of overcoming the dogma we are taught in public schools and later in universities. Overcoming the liberal dogma crammed down my throat for 15 years was tough when I was finally able to see through the haze of glaring contradiction and see the light.
What bothers me the most is that Obama wasn't really looking to do the right thing. He boasts both he and the American people stand for freedom and liberty and will not turn a blind eye to any injustice that infringes on these things. What he did though is he waited to see which side came out of this on top. Paying no attention to the fact that one side stood for violent, opressive militant rule and the other for unalienable right. It mattered not to Obama which side he was left to play politician with in the end, only that he made a good impression on whoever that was. In my view it doesn't matter if you make progress with a vilian. In the end he is still a villian and just as likely to stab you in the back. Making deals with villians isn't what this country is about and I am extremely disturbed that Obamas plan in this put no preferance on who we worked with in the end.
Notice there is little discussion in news about: Iran, N Korea, Venezuela, Honduras, China, etc….."These are the times that try men's souls"….but we, BHO, deal with apology and "strict" sanctions…so, why do we have to ask permission to board the N Korean ship? Think Lucy has some 'splaining to do?

Bullies only respond to fear, and with the promise of the new Gitmo with air conditioning and wide screen TVs and 76 virgins by the Democrats (minor exaggeration) it just seems no one is scared of the US any more. I was just listening to FOX, and the military say they are changing there stratigy on the poppy growing maybe that will help maybe it won't.
Personally I think they should just fly over the fields broadcast an evacuation warning and then fire bomb them. I understand it might hurt the income of the farmers, but if they get the message that we will not tolerate the growing of Poppy's then they will switch their choice of agriculture product. Besides that by burning the fields and plowing them under it will add nutritional value to the soil, to help them produce something of value to the whole world.
The Taliban is paying the farmers $50million annually on the poppy crop, and reselling it, and we are proposing hundreds of millions to change the way the farmers farm to stop this? Why don't we just buy the poppy crops for $75 million, and destroy it? It will take the opium products off the market, save us hundreds of millions, and help financially cripple the Taliban.

Its obvious why Obama was slow to denounce the actions taken by the Iranian dictator over the massive protests in the streets……..Lying to gain voter support,… using aggression to quell the opposition,….manipulation through the use of fear tactics,…blaming the crisis on someone else….sounds like Ahmadinejad stole Obama's playbook.While admiring the dictators resolve, Obama must have been thinking…. reaching out to others really does work .
He denounce the violence only after the polls said he should and after everybody else had, he was to busy with his lauhou at the WH, to worry about people in Iran demenostrating for something he has completely taken for granted, FREEDOM! Although this freedom allowed him to sit at the feet of a known alcoholic, communist and suspect pediphile, Frank Marshall Davis, go to good colleges and become a lawyer for a corrupt organization, ACORN, become a state senaror with the blessings of a domestic terrorist and of course Senator and President. The Freedom that many of us have fought for and some even died for, so that he could wait to speak up for others who are willing to die for, because he hasn't the first idea of what true freedom means.
And let's not forget that he got where he is through some gov't handouts – like affirmative action. And who paid for his education and why don't we know it? (The Saudi's and it's a secret?)

Obama struck a conciliatory tone toward Iran after taking office, sending a video greeting for Persian New Year that used the government's formal name—the Islamic Republic of Iran—in a signal that the goal of regime change had been set aside. Maybe he thought if he addressed them in this fashion it would make a difference?? Diplomacy? You can't reason with people that don't want to be reasoned with!! He has to take a hard stance with Iran and let them know the U.S. is serious, and Israel is an Ally, if he doesn't Iran will only make a fool of us!!

Good post TJ. Much to the Iranian leaders' dismay, the Iranian people have internet, and have seen freedom happening in neighboring Iraq as well as in Lebanon, and the young people want change. I agree, I feel that BO knows full well the fire he is playing with. He was raised in a background of hatred and surrounded himself with those type of people.He wont take a stand on Iran other than minor words because his thoughts and wishes are with the radical Islam movement and the suppression of human rights. It is hard to be raised one way and not have some of those views rub off on you. He has a greater goal than America and is working his magic that way. If he alienates the Arab world he could defeat that goal. He he destroys America and Israel along the way he could get closer to that goal

Korea are crazy enough to start a war with us, it could lead to a definite re election of BH0, after all do you think his supporters would let us replace him in the middle of a war, or if it happens in a God forbid, 2nd term, do you think he would willingly give up power, particularly if he has control of congress. As I've been sayin', BH0 precious negotiation agenda is in jeopardy if he takes sides. That is why he took 10 days to go from 'monitoring the situation in Iran' to calling the events 'appalling.' Reinforces the opinions of the many who believe BH0 has no moral fiber, doesn't it!

Very well put … Obama has already had at least two "3 AM" calls and failed them both … their called Iran and North Korea … it took him 3 days to come up to speed and say the right thing on the Georgia / Russia conflict during the primaries … three days of wavering before finally getting it right … not to mention 5 days to get it right with the Somali pirates (terrorists) … we have a President who is more concerned about his popularity rather than take the bull by the horns and do what is right … so then … when he gets a call at "3 AM" saying North Korea has fired a missile at Hawaii or Alaska he will say "let's just see how this plays out before we do anything" and then take 3 days to get his response right … but then as you said … he will have to look at the polls or see how the wind is blowing before making a decision.

What response? OH that statement he made AFTER everyone else condemned it. That tells me he isn't a leader, he's follower. A leader gets the facts, evaluates them and makes a discision and will do what's right no matter what everyone else says or does. Leadership can not be learned, it comes from deep down, it comes from the spirit of the person, leadership is knowing that you must sacrifice to accomplish the goal. Most of all a leader does what is right for those "under" them. A leader does not wait to see which way the winds are blowing or the polls are going before acting. Obama didn't lead the response to the Iranian govts brutality – he lagged well behind. Even his comments just the day prior to his "taking off the gloves" still put the the "debate" he insisted on calling it between the people and govt of Iran. He talked meaningless circles about norms – instead of calling what was happening what other leaders, the Congress( that's almost unimaginable) and many people of this country saw what it was – unnecessary brutality and a corrupt election process.
It didn't take any time at all…just typed 7 simple letters into google. lol…..
