From a guy that has memories of my Dad, Uncles, cousins etc talk about the LAST Korean war check my post at http://americatoday2009.blogspot.com/ titled "KOREA: ‘DEJA VFUBAR’ ALL OVER AGAIN" it is a free blog – not tryin to get famous, or poular, or rich – just a guy that thinks. Might alo wanna read in same blog, "Diplomacy Versus Violence" which is only about a 45 second read. Between the two – it sums up my disgust with the whole 'ignore and/or Negotiate' mentality!
This is off subject
We have to watch what the left hand is doing now with all the coverage of the three stars passing away in California
Goverment is tring to sneak threw cap and trade as well as the health care and now not many are paying attention BE ALERT
You are so right. Glenn Back was just talking about this today on his show. The cap and trade bill will slip right by us if we continue to be pulled away from our resolve.
Never let an emergency go to waste, they will slip this by in the middle of the night!!! We will go to sleep mourning the passing of these celebrities. Then wake up mourning the passing of Cap and Tax or Unhealthy Care, A.K.A Obamacare.
I thought the same thing when I heard about the deaths….I'm watching FOX right now and all they're talking about it Michael Jackson's death. Obomba will use this crisis if we're not careful.
I don't get it why are some so concerned? Silly I tell you!
Hawaii has the Obama Umbrella to protect them.
If they should happen to get past the Umbrella and cause great damage that would be too bad for China, because that would be the one first states we give them to pay back our debt to them.
Yeah! Thats the new American Way!
I think it's amazing that Obama is cutting back on protecting Alaska … which is also within range of Kim's missiles but yet runs to the defense of Hawaii … oh that's right … he was "supposibly" born in Hawaii and well … Sara Palin is in Alaska.
Ya but his supposed birth certificate is in HI so if HI got destroyed there goes the proof not that we will ever get it anyway
That's an odd coincidence !
Now I'm Concerned !
k, if he keeps trying to test these rockets/missiles, the one thing we can do to make him look like fool and like he is selling faulty product is sabotage. sniper with a 50 cal rifle and a silencer, could possibly put a small hole in the fuel tanks seconds before take off and then we could all watch the missile blow up in their big dumb faces. This would not only help discredit them, but knockout their testing facility and cause them to build another one, both of which take time to repair. Come one guys, there have to be more ideas to get stuff done in this country. We don't need to resort to this kind of stuff except when this is a last resort. We know that diplomacy, UN sanctions, and threats do nothing but go over this midget's head. Action must be taken now, not in 3-5 years when they know everything works and can start to knock on our doorsteps with these things
very good advice Brass and well said. Some things I also have been adding to those thing is:
1. utilize your land. If you have land, even just 1000 square feet, plant.
2. GOOOH.com I came across this not to long ago but I can tell you it really makes you think about what you stand for.
3. look around for ways to get involved with barter systems and labor trades. This starts to get very local communities working, supporting and talking to each other and also local businesses
just my two cents

The Pentagon would be wise not to be so dismissive of North Korea. Those who underestimate their enemies are doomed to defeat.
What can NK do? They can give terrorists nuclear weapons.
Our border security is a joke. Just look at the hundreds of tons of drugs that flow through our borders every year and ask yourself if terrorists could do the same. Then ask yourself what the effect might be if 6-12 nuclear devices detonated on the same day throughout the country.
As to why the NK's would do it, a total nut case doesn't need reasons.
NK has the will to use these weapons through third parties and those weapons can be delivered to the heart of this country.
The Pentagon needs to stop making moronic statements and start thinking out of the box about how to address deadly serious problems.
I am in complete agreement with your post fmb501!!
Having served for a few moons, believe me the Puzzle Palace is not underestimating N. Korea. You can bet that they are under more scrutiny then "Right wing extremists". If N Korea does try a long range launch towards HI, it will be taken out. The same is true if they even come close to our allies.
Two words. Neville Chamberlain. Two new words. Barack Obama.
<sigh> I never thought I'd see the day when we brought back Jimmy Carter or resurrect Neville. Please DC. Stand UP to the is tyrant. Do not negotiate, do not placate, do not cow-tow to his demands. And if he does launch a nuke at us, you had better respond in kind.
Instead of listening to his advisers he will probably be thumbing through his ISO notes on community organization, trying to find the appropriate response method. I hope he tells N.K. we will not accept his blatant disregard to our safety. Take the missiles out on the launchpad, do not waste time tracking them or trying to intercept!! A mistake could cost us dearly in human lives, he is playing around with B.O.!! Kim Jong Sick is a lunatic with a Nuclear Device and cannot be trusted!!

Military Intelligence: Two words together that don't make sense. I believe that on September 10th, 2001 we had that same arrogant attutide towards Osama Bin Laden as we currently have with Kim Jong. "What are they going to do?" "How could they ever harm us?" Those advisors were warned, but they failed to listen. History has a funny way of repeating itself.
What if: What if our current estimates of 3 to 5 years are wrong and N.Korea is putting the finishing touches on the Taepodong-2 three stage missle capable of hitting Hawaii?
I'm no rocket scientist but if you can make a missle fly 4000 miles it doesn't seem like it would take much to get another 500 miles out of it. Also an air burst in close vacinity of HI would be just about as bad as a direct hit.

Now…if we DO decide to do something, must we first ask for permission? Or, depending on site under attack, do we wish Hawaii and Alaska well? Remember how the Cole was not allowed to defend itself first, but had to wait to have themselves fired on when it was too late to avoid the deaths of our men? WHO is in charge, the military or a commander in chief who does not know his rear from his elbow, but does know enough to cover same rear politically?
Its always a good idea to call a egotistical, megalomaniacal, dictator he is silly. That almost always turns out the way you want. Like patting a child throwing a tantrum on his head and telling him he's cute. I know that always worked with my kids…NOT!
We are talking about a community organizer TearEmUp!! I don't think he has dealt with the complexity of this maniacal dictator? He thinks he can sit down with anyone, flash his smile, and woo them into submission!!
Someone needs to explain to him that this man is a deranged lunatic, and cannot be reasoned with!!
The only defense against someone like this is to be on offense!!
American Minute with Bill Federer
June 25
The Korean War started JUNE 25, 1950.
Communist North Korea invaded South Korea, killing thousands.
General Douglas MacArthur was given command of the U.N. Forces and
after a daring landing of troops at Inchon, MacArthur recaptured the
city of Seoul.
Political involvement prolonged the war, resulting in high
casualties.
President Truman stated in his 1952 Christmas Message:
"Our hearts turn first of all to our brave men and women in Korea.
They are fighting and suffering and even dying that we may preserve
the chance of peace in the world."
Truman continued:
"Let us remember always to try to act…in the spirit of the Prince
of Peace. He bore in His heart no hate and no malice – nothing but
love for all mankind.
We should…follow His example…As we pray for our men and women in
Korea…let us also pray for our enemies…
Through Jesus Christ the world will yet be a better and a fairer
place."
To the Salvation Army, December 12, 1951, General Douglas MacArthur
said:
"History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject
to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline.
There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral
lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national
disaster."

This posturing by Kim Jong IL is very effective. Every President since Truman has been threatened by the N. Koreans. I think his end game is not necessarily to attack the USA, but rather keep the peasants from getting restless under him. If he can sell his arsenals to the Middle East, everyone is happy. Except us, of course. We need to straight talk with S. Korea and Japan. If they want this nut job in their neighborhood and won't help us rid the world of him, fine! then let's take down our bases and get the heck out of Asia and concentrate on developing missiles that can take care of things from long range. If they want us to 'do something.' then put their money where their mouth is and help us! Both countries have double dealt with us for long enough.
Japan's formerly healthy economy grows because they have no defense costs…it's time they pay up.
Agree NancyNurse. even further we should just pull out and if asked take a support/back-up roll. Let them take a firsthand roll in their own defence. Maybe that will put a little light on for china as well.

Kim Jong is compensating… again. We need to remind the world of how great we really are yet BH0 is being a wimpy limp wristed car salesman.
I do not think that NK telling us they are going to wipe us out is 'silly'. They have nukes now and if ever there was a wacko that would use them it's little Kim. If god forbid he launches a strike against the South it's all out war.
And this war will be followed with a "III" behind it. The Chinese are a factor in this too. The Chinese or as Rush puts it the "Chi-coms"( because that is who they are), rival us economic and overall in production and military might. This is a very serious problem and I think our President needs to reassure us everyday that we are safe and in fact I think we should be planning for all out war. Gear up the production lines and get on a war footing sooner rather than later.
In fact perhaps we should take some of the money that has not been used in TARP and the second "stimulus" to get things geared up. This would solve two problems
1) unemployment, we could put millions to work converting unused factories into new factories to build munitions, ammo, planes, ships, all the tools of war. Also we should be enticing young people to school to become nurses, doctors, mechanics and such because the need for them goes up when at war.
2) it would be a far better use of our tax dollars to be ready then to be caught with our pants down.
I DO NOT want a war as I described. However, think about the way things are now. Compare it to the past and use a little of Glenn's common sense and you will find that it don't look good people.
What do you all think?…….

Those who are well prepared choose to go to war, not forced to.
So the Pentagon is taking lessons from Obama, remove all strength and show your weakness then maybe they will "respect" or pity you and stop what they are doing. Sorry Ahmedinejad even said that this war will be fought through strength and not diplomacy. http://www.AmericanParchment.com has been keeping me up on the news about N. Korea. Wouldn't it be scary if the cargo ship from N. Korea that is passing China right now was on its way to Iran, guess what, it is. They are selling weapons among the axis of evil and America's weak president won't do anything to stop it. You don't need a war to solve this problem, just show the strength and determination that Bush showed. 1 of Bushes strengths was strength on Foreign Policy.
The N. Korean government needs a SANE leader before we can make inroads.

Part 2
BUT if you a the PATRIOT, then take the "bad" with the good and though we don't trust the politicans, I feel Glenn has earned ours, so trust in him and each other. This is just one battle of many, the war to save America contnues, with or without you. It's your choice.
Well said OldMarine, well said.
Thank you, I just needed to get something off my chest. Yes, the first time everything statred going into moderation, I got a little upset, fired off a email to the webmaster, and called it a night. Of course everything looks different after sleeping on it. I sent an email to webmaster after finding out what happened. But, then it occurred to me I've seen many people get upset with the moderation statement and even some I believe actually quit 912. Well, I figured that if they want to give up that easily, then "door let the door hit you on the way out." This is just one battle we're going to have to face in this "war" to save America.
True, OldMarine, very true!!
This is true OldMarine.
I stand by and support the Constitution of the United States of America, the 9/12 project, Glenn Beck, and you Old Marine through thick and thin.
Semper Fi
Semper Fi, Do or Die.
Thank you, I'm standing with you as long as this old Marine has the strenght, and then I'll reach down and pull out whatever I have left deep inside, I pray that the American who believe in the "Greatest of our Country" will do the same.
Off topic but:
912 editor and LOYAL members of 912:
I have another 912er I share emails with and was alerted to the problem, I came on as usual, knowing damn well that the elves were working on it, and it occurred to me that this is similar to 1776, you all remember, the year of the Revolution when things were going downhill and the cause of Freedom looked bleak, after all we had just declared independence five months earlier. Thomas Paine wrote ""These are the times to try men's souls:The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman."(The American Crisis 1).
Now, I will ask all 912ers, are you the sunshine patriot, the summer soldier who gets upset, jumps to the wrong conclusion because things don't go the way you feel it should OR are you the patriot, who will continue to fight no matter what, Are you willing to stand strong, trust in each, and trust your leaders (In this case the Head elf and his helpers) or are you going to just quit. Well, if you are the latter, please don't let us stop you.

I will stand shoulder to shoulder with you my friend, to uphold and defend what was given to us through the blood sweat and tears of the men that so bravely fought for our liberties.
You are correct that this is similar to 1776, in that those men did not WANT to have to stand up and fight but they knew they HAD to.
We HAVE to. It's no longer a matter of choice, but patriotic duty.
this is off topic too OldMarine:
Did you ever get your Intense Debate email fixed? I'm still not getting notifications. If so, how did you get it fixed?
Thanks. -BawnyFwank
Nope, I have emailed them a couple of times. They have told me that they are working on it. If you haven't emailed them, go to your profile page and click the contact. Please do not use the email here on the site, the Elves have enough to worry about.
Old Marine, I've stated before and I will state again, I'll take your flank and cover your 6 every time it's needed. I'm doing what I can here at the 912 project and outside of it to put my energy and time to best use. When I'm not here or working to put food on my table and a roof over my head, I'm spending energy trying to help bring this country back to it's founding ideas.
Thanks for all you do Old Marine, it's a pleasure to serve with you.
Thank you, I try to read any response to my "posts" at work in spare time and then answer when I get home. I do use alot of the information and comments from the 912ers in some "debates" with the libs. I learn alot from those here. Its pleasure "serving" 912 when I can.
Sorry. Bad behavior is still bad behavior no matter who is doing it. And unless our country finds a good leader who is worthy of trust, we will be stuck with teleprompter reading puppets in our state governments as well as our national positions. I am really disgusted by so many these days……power hungry idiots who do and say ANYTHING for a higher perch. And that includes the pentagon. No one knows how to handle Kim Jong IL because no one since Douglas MacArthur has had the guts.
No one in the DoD is telling O-Blame-a what to do because he is not asking them what to do. They can only advise if there is so one willing to take advise.
Face it, we are stuck with BH0 untill someone in congress stands up to BH0 and challenges him on Constitutional basis. Even Sen. DeMint said on Glenn's show that what is going on is questionable under the Constitution. So, why should we expect leadership out of D.C. and frankly, I'm beginning to question Gates as leader and advisor for military operations. Right now, with N Korea, all we can do is wait and see, unfortuantely. My idea, take out the launch site, but that's me.
Sometimes the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots. We're still here and still trying to fight the good fight!
God only knows I pray it it doesn't come to pass that no Patriot's blood will be spilled. I pray that our Nation and all good people will survive this "trial" and that we get some true conservatives in congress to stop the madness that is BH0.
So how DO we fight? Knowing we need to is one thing and quite necessary. Doing the fighting is quite another. But you've left out one VERY important thing. WHAT to do. HOW to fight. Here is what I am doing, yet it feels as if it isn't enough.
1. Educate myself. Reading as much as I can get my hands on, reading both sides so as to understand the arguments fully and respond properly. Also, listening and watching Glenn and others.
2. Contacting my non-representing representatives. I will freely admit I do not do this as much as I should. I feel this has become an exercise in futility and is perhaps the most depressing to boot.
3. Educating and engaging those around me. I purposely watch Glenn Beck on TV when others are around so that they can hear his message. I engage them in discussion on the topics and try to awaken them to the changing tides in America.
4. Tea Parties. Attend them when they happen.
5. Joined the 912 project. Post on a regular basis.
And yet, it seems I have no impact. Will I give up? Hell, I'm ready to actually pick up arms to defend that which I love. But a peaceful revolution? I don't know what else TO do.
Old Marine, I understand your point about summer solders. It's valid and correct. But I'm going to challenge YOU. GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO!!!
Give me something that makes an impact! I need to know I'm not just pounding my head against the wall. Thank you.
You are doing outstanding things, this is what we need. it fact we need everyone to do the same. I sometimes feel that it doesn't have any impact, I also feel like I'm running my head into a brick wall, I've knocked down a couple since 20 Jam ,but I keep going. Something that might make an impact, if you know of a canidate that stands for the principles and values we believe in, support them, work for them, and let 912 know, maybe we can pitch in, think about it, 1 dollar from every member of 912 could help. And if another 912er here's of one, support with a dollar. Maybe, just maybe we can gt some GOOD representation in D.C.
Brass, you are probably already doing more than most Americans. The important thing to remember is that we can't bury our heads in the sand. Here is what I am doing:
1. I just cut up my Republican National Committee membership card and mailed it back to the party headquarters.
2. I just changed my voter registration from Republican to Independent, until I am confident the GOP is going in the right direction
3. I am reading Glenn's book "Common Sense" and one of the other books recommendd on the 912 Project website called "The 5000 Year Leap" by W. Cleon Skousen.
4. I just left a voicemail and email for my Congressman Harry Mitchell telling him to vote no on the National Energy Tax bill (cap and trade) which is up for vote on 7/26
5. Spreading the word to friends, family, and colleagues
If we stick together we will ultimately prevail, along with Glenn Beck's support.
we are with you oldmarine lead on my friend .
'' Boys we must hold our colors on this line or we will lie under them here" colonel Samuel williams, Indiana !9th Infantry vols gettysburg ( black hat brigade) also know as iron brigade
"U.S. officials have said it would take at least three to five years for North Korea to pose a real threat to the U.S. west coast."
OK we'll wait 3-5 years and hope for what, they get board with Daddy Obama's stern lectures? When a threat presents itself so blatantly you take care of it decisively. We don't need to "be patient" and have a 911 style Commission on why it happened.
Knocking the Taepodong-2 off the launching pad with one of our wonderful guided munitions would be a great way to start hurting Kim's little feelers, it's a hell of a lot better than an after-the-fact commission. One bomber a couple of tankers it could be over by this time tomorrow except for the jello spine in power.
May be Obama will become NK dear leader in 3 to 5 years. Who knows it could happen if he can BS the MK's like he did so many in this country
I don't think the Chinese would allow that to happen, they like cold stern faces, not big smiles, in their puppets.
On a side note, it will take us about 10 years to drill our own oil, and we haven't seen any progress there either
It will not take 10 yrs. The oil companies already know where the oil is, they just need to start drilling. That 10 year estimate is because of the exploration and permits. Most of the exploration isdone, so that cuts alot of time, If they fast track the permits and drop the environmental crap, I'd say we could have oil on its way to the refinery in less then 5. By the way, I'm a gelogist as well as a chemist.
It would be nice, but you can bet the farm that BH0 won't even think about it. Remember the crap he and other libs raised about Pres. Bush going into Iraq after everyone said there were WMD's, Bush went in to prevent the WMD's falling into TERRORISTS (I don't believe in Newspeak) hands. If BH0 did the same, it would prove Bush was right and they sure in hell don't want to do that.
If you missed the "O'Reilly Factor" tonight, the newest interview with Barney Frank was very enlightening.
Barney sounded extremely defensive but came off better than he ever has… I think he knew this time that he was going to get challenged if he filibustered.
Perhaps in the future we'll see if he supports stripping unrelated parts of bills away when they favor positions that are not his.[/sarcasm]
You also get to hear Alan Colmes (with a straight face) try to give credit to Obama's Cairo speech as the catalyst for what's happening in Iran.
* sigh *
I think all Americans (including the O-Team) should be very, very grateful for everything that the Bush/Cheney administration, along with our military and its allies, has done regarding foreign policy. We have the ability now to really put the screws to Iran and N. Korea BECAUSE two other members of the "Axis of Evil" (Afgh. & Iraq) are now democracies. I think a lot of those Iranians are looking across those borders and saying "I want that too!"
Seriously.
This guy is like Hitler. He acts aggressively and every body else treats him like a gentleman. Just like Hitler, it began as as little problem, people would simply not fight him because he "couldn't possibly" be a threat to them. In Hitlers case, he went on conquering Europe until he was finally recognized as a threat by the allies. Because we did nothing hoping that he'll miraculously would disappear, Hitler became such a big threat that the effort to stop him was called the second world war. Kim Jong is following that same path, while we are just doing nothing, laughing at his attempts to destroy us, and trying to approach the manner in a "civilized" manner by trying to sit with him and talking things over.
I guess sitting with the world leaders trying to talk solutions than just declaring war is an attractive idea, but not everybody is as sane as America, and not everybody wants what America wants. Dictators like him don't care about freedom, liberty, or in the pursuit for happiness for everyone in his country. One big example was Saddam Hussein. He would publicly execute everyone who disagreed with him because all he cared about was staying in power. He even believe he was chosen by Allah to order the execution of his people. He would torture the countries minorities by nailing them on the wall, sending them to "concentration camps" and by bombing their villages with chemical weapons. With that being said, who in God's name will sit with somebody like him hoping to win peace. NOBODY!
Will we end up repeating the past and start fighting in the next confrontation which will be called world war 3 or will we learn the lessons of the past and apply them to the present? I seriously think that we haven't learned our lesson and we will never learn it until we see the world as it is, not as we presume it to be.
I tend to think that pyschologically evil dictators like Kim Jung Il is not so different than a mugger in a alley or an Islamic Terrorist, or perhaps even a bully in school. What I think all four of those types have in common is that they have aleady chosen the dark side, so talking to them does not do much. They each only respond to fear, and they unfortunately see kindness as only a weakness. While many complained about George Bush, he at least understood that. They took out two of our buildings in 911, he took out two of their countries. Nice? War is never nice. But you can bet a number of mothers told their children – don't fool with that man or the US. I dont think the current admin scares the terrorists, dictators or bullies.
Think about this. We have a base in South Korea and he could be saying Hawaii to throw us off. The military is on high alert there.
I was a tank crewman when I was in the Army, and I'll say the M1 Abrams is the best out there. We've got a lot of tanks there in SK, and they'll smoke any tank Nk has, and NK knows it…..Imagine a platoon of M1A2 SEPs smoking a company of T-72s as they come across the DMZ.
I am in Korea, now a few weeks a go our base was graced with new shinny Patriot missiles, Hummm I wonder if something is in the air? Also my company ordered us to register with the government for emergency evacuation. Hummm what’s up with that?
Holy Cow. he is all those Presidents he claimed.
The cowardice of Kennedy ….
The soullessness of Clinton …..
The complete ineptitude for economics of Roosevelt ….
So now when the fourth largest military with a leader who has had nothing BUT military and developing military says "THAT'S IT PAL!!!! I'M COMING FOR YOUR THROAT!!!" …. it's …. silly.
You know, this has been That little North Korean Bastards life's work. he's not looking so good. you think he's not going to take his shot before he goes down?
Solution …. TAKE HIM DOWN!!!! not to approve of murder or anything …. but sometimes you got to put a mad dog down. Besides, regardless, he says what he wants because no one has a spine enough to stand up and say "YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT MY PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!!! NOW SIT THE HELL DOWN AN SHUT THE F**K UP BEFORE I STMP YOU 6 FEET UNDER, YOU LITTLE KOREAN BASTARD!!!!". I guess we are just too arrogant and stupid and whaetevr else, in Obama's opinion, to stand up for.
just saying.
Dont forget Mr. Potato head, Jimmy Carter
You mean Mr. Peanut. You are giving potatoes a bad name!
Obama is too busy trying to play Mr. Nice guy to stand up to anyone. He is the one that needs his butt kicked. He deserves it! But of course, he will be nice and safe in his little coccon in DC while our troops are staring at North Koreans through a row of barbed wire fencing. He is gutless in foreign matters.
I wasn't a fan of Kennedy, but he may have screwed up on the Bay of Pigs, but he stood nose to nose against U.S.S.R. over the missiles in Cuba, and the U.S.S.R. blinked. He wasn't a coward in my book for that. As far as taking Kim out, Bh0 sure in hell won't authorize it. Maybe the South will try, but unless they know they have some backing from U.S., I wouldn't bet on it. If the south were to take him out, then the North might go for an attack, and if Bh0, doesn't back them, it will be messy.
I really don't think we should be goading insane dictators. Do I think he can wipe us off the map? No. However, if this man was so insignificant, we should have been able to handle this many years ago. The fact is, it extends beyond this little bastard. I do not find it a good tactic to needlessly put our men and women in danger by goading leaders of other countries. Especially ones with questionable psychological stability that demonstrate a complete lack of concern for human life in their own countries. If there is no choice, fine. However, our military doesn't need a 3rd war front. Our nation's piggy bank is empty. We financially cannot be at war in perpetuity. What if he starts firing missiles with chemical warheads at S. Korea and Japan? What if China and Russia decide with 3 war fronts and an impending financial apocalypse to seize on a perceived opportunity to strike us, and take their side? Do we need WWIII because we have a pencil pushing pentagon tough guy? Man, I don't even understand our leadership anymore.
I find it amazing that if you make a threat to the president you are arrested regardless if you are capable, but if you threaten the country, you are dismissed as silly. And another thing that a lot in Washington are forgetting is that we have thousands of troops in South Korea, and the north has many biological and chemical weapons that they can use. I can say with confidence that I don’t think that the missiles will reach Hawaii, but I know without a doubt that they will reach South Korea. My thoughts are with all of you on the ROK.
hey hogwrench i would say by your avatar you work on the A-10 warthog ,Keeepin flying freind.
Love the warthog! Big fan of those tank busters!
Will he wipe the US off the map? doubtful. Would he fire a missile at HI and have a second pearl harbor attack on US soil? This is foreseeable. Especially if the country ignores him as well as it ignored Bin Laden.
I don't think he has the capabilities of actually striking Hawaii YET. He has no real Navy and little Air. He might pull a missile launch and hustle down to his fortified bunker like Bin Laden, but unless damage is done……. I think we might as well continue letting him throw tantrums.
We should let the military do what they are trained to do. The next missile NK fires, test or whatever, we should shoot it down. Then tell NK the next one will be taken out BEFORE it is launched.
With the fiery Rhetoric he is spewing, I think your suggestion rings true RB60!!
While NK may have the means to strike Hawaii, I highly doubt that they could wipe the US off the map. I think this is just tempting NK to launch a missile, knowing we can take it out, and then go back to the Korean Penninsula and finish what we didn't finish 59 years ago. This would not be BH0's thinking, of course, because he would be more inclined to offer them a car company or something.
LOL isn't that the truth. But look at the bright side…..we have awesome health care now. (sarcasm) Wonder if obama is trying to tell us something by pushing his health care through so fast?
I think BH0 knows that if the folks have time to really think about his proposals, like health care and cap&tax, and there is a real debate, then he will lose support for them. That's why the big infomercial yesterday. The campaign trail MO on steroids.
He sure is. He wants to make sure we have heart care for the massive heart attack that we will have when we find out the vaults are empty. If we die from heart failure there will be no one to rule over.
I agree, but look how much energy and resources the little gnat of Vietnam proved to be! N. Korea is an annoyance and a distraction. Couple them up with Al Qaeda or China, and we have a huge problem. Luckily, the Chinese are not thrilled with this guy. And the jihadists are on shaky ground with Iran looking like a volcano ready to blow.
I once heard him called a little four foot puppet with a rocket strapped to his ego. That is so true but wipe us off the map he better pack a lunch. I do not fear so much for our physical country but or the surrounding countries and for our boys in the military. I have a son that is getting ready to be stationed in WA State. He will be on a nuclear sub. Hmmmm wonder where that sub will wind up? America needs to start flexing some muscle soon. The puppet started this when we went into Iraq and as soon as we took out Saddams army he shut up real fast and we didnt hear from him again until BO took office.
This nonesence would not happen under Bush,Obama and Clinton have no Foreign Affairs experience,,
i quess they will learn on the job,
But at what cost.
Jimmy Carter all over again.
Next year most Americans will want G W Bush back, he was not that bad afterall……
I'll admit, that sitting down with world leaders to talk about solutions instead of fighting a war, but not every body wants what America wants. Dictators like him don't want the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for his people, all they want is power. One example is Saddam Hussein. He would publicly execute anybody who disagreed with him on any issue because he wanted to be the boss. Hell, he thought that he was chosen by Allah to execute his people, and he pick on the minorities. He would nail them to the walls in concentration camps, electrecute them until they where nothing but ash, and he would bombard their villages with chemical weapons. Common sense tells us that this doesn't want peace for his people but death, so why would we sit down with someone who nails people for breakfast.
If we keep the 1920's attitude towards aggressive dictators we're going to end up in a conflict called world was 3. War is not a desirable thing for us, but it is necessary to insure our freedom.
do you think our leaders want people to have the freedoms of life liberty and pursuit of happiness? look at what they are doing here…

It just seems to me that this is really an attempt at extracting some cash from this administration. Even this guy must realize that firing a missle into HI would result in a smoking hole where NK used to be.
Well put Nomarxism!! It's his sanity that begs to be questioned!! Standing up to the Great Satan and taking
out a whole State, he could be looked at as a martyr if he we out in a "blaze of glory". Even if North Korea was
a glass floored, self lighting, parking lot!! B.O. needs to let it be known that any attempt to attack the U.S. or it's Allies would be met with overwhelming force!! Can we count on him to do so?? I doubt it!!

What if Military Intel is wrong and he can reach Hawaii…What if we cant shoot it down. Now Hawaii is gone and our way of life is forever gone with one nutjob. We have a President that thinks this all is some game. He thinks we can sit down and talk nicey nice to these morons with nukes….He is taking my life in his hands and gambling with it. Blow the little sawed off runt away and others will learn to talk to us….With the precondition that we dont do the same to them maybe…I bet they will listen and not talk so tough then…
Yes it takes only one sniper….Then the world will be a nicer place…
Reagan was right. Strength comes when you flex those muscles and take crap from no one…
You mean like if Obama is getting bad intel like Bush got??? What if it could reach Hawaii? I think that would even shock Kim! Crazy world. Guess that is why you test it huh? It is expected to be many, many hundred miles short.

I do not want war but the United States needs to flex it's muscles. We still are a powerful country we have nuclear weapons. We should point them at any body that threatens us and let them know that they will pay the price.Nobody wins a nuclear war the lose of life and the atmosphere would be ruined.North Korea may be taking orders from China or Russia.I do not think they are alone in this mess.
We do not have any leadership in Washington at all.The president is trying to run car lots and sell cigarettes. The communists know he is weak and they will push us around. The president needs to get it together and be a leader or resign.
Kim Jong Il is a classic spoiled little kid that took over a country of some of the poorest people on earth, when his father passed away. Kim is just a sniveling brat that unfortunately has a small cache of nuclear weapons. He wants to blackmail the United States, and other countries to give him the necessities of his personal life. Be damned with the poor individuals that live in this crazy country.
"wipe us off the globe." huh…. Kim Jong is the excuse we are looking for to demonstrate our power… bring it on little man. time to repair our standing in the world…
have you seen our leadership? do you think they will stand up against this? I hope so but I doubt it.. I am sorry to say I am VERY afraid of this little man
Dont worry of this little man, he speaks like his drunk, South Korea and Japan can very WELL HANDLE THE SITUATION…….
Do Not Feed The Troll's!! I'm just saying………………….
Hmm I just don't get it. Obama is getting no credit at all for responding to North Korea's political theatrics and rhetoric like this. All of the right-wing media is wanting the Obama to act so they can 'Oh look who slipped up like Bush.' Whatev.
No you don’t get it. This is not about Democrats or Republicans. They are equally worthless. That includes Bush and YOUR SAVIOR Obama. I PREY for our troops in ROK because Kim Jung Il is a lunatic and I think he will try anything to prove his point. I have served Democrat and Republican presidents. I also think that it is a bad time in our country when we dismiss anyone as silly who threatens our people If you notice in my original post there was no mention of left/right, democrat/republican. That is because some of us have our own views and are not dictated by the zombies in Washington. Notice I said Washington. Because none of them represent the people. Only themselves.
THIS NONESENCE WOULD NOT HAPPEN IF GW WAS IN OFFICE..
It's not a matter of what Obama does or doesn't do. It's how all the world's dictators have suddenly become emboldened. Have they ALL coincidentally become belligerent at the same time? You gotta kinda doubt it. They see a week leader who values his personal popularity above all else
So you know. I would like to see it red again as well.
Here here! Well said wantVAredagain!
I had a lot to tell you but I realized it would be a waste of my time.
I'm going to answer your question as best I can. The right-wing media doesn't want Obama to pull another Bush, because, well, we can't afford to fight 3 wars at the same time. Yes, we have 28K troops stationed at the border but when have we ever won a war with only 28K troops? What Obama is doing is the right thing, don't provoke them. Now, if the North does grow a pair of balls and actually attacks us, then I hope Obama will go in the with the full force of our Military.
Where do you get your info, TASS,Daily KOZ, or Move On? First off we have a few more then 28,000 troops in Korea, we have an air base, we have Marine Air wing and Air Force in Japan, most likely a few Landing ships with Marines off shore and some on shore. AND why does everyone forget the South Korean military? They are well trained, they are well armed and they want payback. Remember a person fighting for their home land can be a force to be reconded with.
Just explain how he is responding to N Korea? Having picnic and date night? Trying to destroy America? If he had any stones he would have sent a team in to attempt to take out Kim. Target the launch facility. Instead he, ignores N Korea and hopes it goes away. Just like he did wit6h the pirate situation, waiting almost a week before acting. Or like he did supporting the dmonstrators in Iran?
seriously, since when is a nut job armed with a nuke considered silly..can we at least take the loaded revolver away from the toddler before he hurts some one, puh-leeeeze
LOL, and any sharp or pointed objects he might have!!!
This seems to happen to presidents who appear to have no guts. President Kennedy with the Cuban Missille Crisis in 1962. Two years after the Bay of Pigs fiasco. President Carter had the hostage crisis in Iran in 1979. He did nothing for 444 days. The US attempted a rescue which Carter canceled at the last minute resulting in confusion and a helecopter crash. The hostages were released minutes after Ronald Reagan won the election by a landslide. Hmmm. Now Obama has his crisis. I believe that Obama will be humiliated like Carter. Its a good bet that the Kang Nam is full of Scrap Metal or baby food.
I just hope if he is humiliated it does not cost us in human lives, that would be reprehensible. I do agree, however, that he is calling attention to his weakness and that is not good for our country!!
Hmm, I think you have your history a little mixed up, President Kennedy inherited the Bay of Pigs plan from Eisenhower and really never did buy off on it completely. As for the Cuban Missile, Kennedy responded to Khrushchev by demanding he remove the missiles in Cuban. I lived through the missile crisis and I really don't believe that given the circumstances Kennedy could have done much differently. As for President Carter, he mishandled the entire hostage crisis and as for President Obama, I believe the next two weeks will be critical for his foreign diplomacy aspirations. At this point he maybe headed down the path of Carter, let us hope not or we are doomed. I too believe that the Kang Nam maybe nothing more then a red herring and I am sure that this has crossed Obama's mind. We would really look foolish if the ship contained nothing more then scrap metal. The few days should show one way or the other, however if it is weapons, I believe that Myanmar will balk at confiscating the ship. It is is weapons, then it would be their weapons, and they can't admit that.
Good analysis, except for bay of Pigs, thatt botched operation was Kennedy's, all he had to do is authorize the air cover, but the only one that is even close to BH0 is Mr. Peanut, Carter. I like you lived through the missile crisis.
Well, the Vice President did say that he would be tested, and he is being tested.
And failing, badly.
The pentagon or someone needs to keep "eyes" on this!! Kim Jong Sick is a serious threat that need addressing, he has proven he does not care about his own people, let alone the U.S. and our people!
Holy cow I do realize NK likes to make noise when they feel people are ignoring them and with all eyes on Iran they are feeling like a neglected 3 year old. But like a 3 year old they often ACT without thought NK CAN cause trouble MAJOR trouble. they can also make it possible that OTHERS around the world make MAJOR trouble. To be so flip over this is astounding to me. Heaven help us ALL. PLEASE pray for our nation
Relax lady
God is on our side.
No wait,,, we cant talk about god,, oops.
I pray almost every day that God will send the Holy Spirit to our president, to be the lamp that guides his feet, and to give him the revelation to bring our country back to one nation under God, as a lean constitutional republic.
Yeah, NK is trying to become a major player in the world, so they're trying to make noise to be recognized. From what I've elarned of Kim, he is the type to think compassion, love, and kindness as weakness. What Jesus could do for him, if he would confess him as Lord and Saviour.
tulsatankrider, that was a Great post!!!!
What big infomercial?
LOL!!!! Good one!
I heard they were having something like that, but I watched something called Monster Quest on the History Channel. It was interesting and informative, someone said the other wasn't???
Sorry, I am just using there figures as they have on the 3-5 years in there NK missle estimate, to show how rediculus they are. A lot of people I have talked to say 2-3 years to be pumping oil in some spots, depending on estimated depth and pocket size.
OldMarine, I stand with you as well. It's like the country song by Aaron Tippin "You've Got To Stand for Something, or You'll Fall for Anything". More Americans should keep this song in their iTunes to remind themselves of this.
I got my info from a news article on yahoo. The article said about 28,300 stationed at the DMZ. I forgot to mention the South…my mistake.
What is TASS and these sites you've mentioned?
Thank you, and God bless you.
