This is good news. The discontent goes much deeper than has been reported previously. Let's hope these folks in Iran find greater strength when they see mullahs participating in these demonstrations.

Iran is in turmoil and there are desperate cries for help. They were initilally ignored and Obama was finally convinced to dial up the rhetoric. Let's see where this administration takes this. I am begining to think of BO as Carter or steroids.

Since the 9-12 thread is closed I will respond to your comment concerning Obama and the Iranian Protests here. You stated " I have no desire to have us be Militarily involved in that regime change, but I would love it if Obama would step up and "not let this emergency go to waste". A few fiery words might be enough to spark a true revolution.

However after watching his remarks today where he freely admitted fear of his words being twisted, he seems to be willing not to utter any such inspiration."

So far this morning there are continued protests and the people are being shot and beaten. Mousavi’s wife Zahri Rahnavard has called for the release of all the activists and others arrested at protests. Lets hope the clerics, along with the whole country going on strike will help change the leadership soon, or many more will die, fighting for their freedom from dictatorship!
What do you think about the President offering the Iranian President to come to a Hotdog lunch? I believe this lunch will be given at an Embassy near you. When Iran is having such a problem with their election, why would Obama try to cuddle up to these dictators. Unbelivable, Just what is going through that brain of his?

President Reagan would stand up to the Dictators, not shower them with praise, and not want to be a buddy, just to suck up to people like Ahmadinejad!
