When the census takers come to the door…I'm going to include our pets as family member living in the household. And that's all the information they're going to get. They don't need to know anything else. If they question anything that is or isn't on the form, I'll just blame it on the people taking the information. It's not like those nutty (ACORN) people haven't lied before. I may even let our pit bull answer the door with me. He wouldn't hurt a fly, but they don't know that. And he plays a good bad dog roll….He's an Oscar contender, if I do say so myself…

  2. Yeah, ya think that he would appreciate that we are exercising our right of freedom by voicing our opposition to his policies. Rather, as we know, he and his most devout followers have done everything possible to discredit, belittle, slander, name-call, and discourage us from doing anything that shows dislike for his agenda. Even going as far as having the Dept. of Homeland Security brought into the act.
Somehow, I believe that if he finds a way to carry out any actions to truly repress our right to assemble in opposition he will fully take advantage of it. It's all kind of ironic in light of his Cairo speech remarks about people being able to freely speak, and the government listening to their voices. Nothing of the sort has been getting done here for about the last year.

So now we're going to have the nuts from ACORN collecting data from some of us; no thanks. I will tell them the number of people living here and ages, and close the door. That as far as I'm concerned is all they are required to ask about.
I would be more willing to cooperate if there wasn't such a fiasco made of the census by the White House; but such is not the case. Oddly, we are criticized for being concerned about ACORN being involved in the census; what do you think would have happened if Bush had gone out a recruited the NRA to do the same?

Oh! by the way, to all 912ers This afternoon 6/23 12:30 P.M. President Obama had a news conference, and he made a statement about how he could appreciate The Iranians demonstrating peaceably. I'm thinking now, that whenever we have our peaceable "T" Parties, Obama will give us his support and recognition. YA THINK!

    • Hobbes says:

Some have suggested that Obama's "walking on eggs" reaction to the Iranian protesters being shot in the streets reflects his desire to see how much he might be able to get by with in reacting to our protests? Extreme? I guess that remains to be seen.

  5. jeananne says:

Oh! There expecting community service, good lets get our communities together and insist that our Government not send anyone from Acorn to our homes to collect our personal information, as we would appreciate our privacy rights not to be put in the hands of questionable sources. I can think of several community projects that we U.S.Citizens can work on, 1- Protecting Our U.S. Constitution, 2- Protecting our borders, 3- Helping those people who lost their way, get back over the border where they belong. 4- When pregnant ladies from Mexico, need a hospital room to have their babies, instead of them coming into the U.S. we need to build a corridor of delivery rooms that extend onto the Mexican side of the border so those ladies are still in their homeland giving delivery. I'm sure there will be plenty of U.S. Dr.'s who would be willing to devote free service to them in Mexico. I can't think of anything else right now, but I'll keep thinking. I'm sure with all the problems our U.S. Citizens are dealing with just protecting our Homeland from invaders who want to take this country down, we will have plenty to do.

  6. garywh says:

As for me the only information they will get is the info granted by the constitution is how many in my household all other questions are null and void….

  7. DMN says:

The best thing about Obama is his ego—he can't stand to be out of the public eye for even a day. Because of his ego, we get a heads-up on almost everything he's working on. As long as he THINKS he's popular with most of our citizens, he's going to feel free to show off his plans. Once he realizes his popularity is fading, he's going to get desperate and it won't be so easy to figure out what he's up to. Hopefully, his ego won't let him believe for some time that people are catching on to his socialist agenda.

  8. RageforOrder says:

ACORN is under investigation for fraud.Using D.C logic, it makes all sense in the world to let them take the census.COME ON! I am sick of these dumbasses in Washington.

  9. watman43 says:

we should all protest the census and not take part in it . just a thaught! sheeple

  10. JamesMcC10 says:

There are a lot of possibilites to NOT Answer any thing other than the number in your house hold………… JUST WHAT THE CENSUS WAS DESIGNED TO DO.

The 4th Amendment: Some could argue this is unreasonalbe search and siezure.
The 5th Amendment: The due process Clause bars the government from arbitrarily depriving anyone of life, liberty, or property.
The 9th Amendment: Courts may not infer from the silence of the Constitution that an unlisted right is unavailable to protect individuals from the government.

WE ALREADY HAVE THE FOUNDATION. LET'S DO THIS ALREADY. STAMP PEEVE. HERE WE COME !!!

  11. godandtheusa says:

I'm ready to see them tried for fraud and more. This evil administration is sowing deep and will get what they reap soon enough. Mark Levin's show today ripped Obama out of the water, lol. Bless his heart:-)

  12. floridagal says:

Shall I add a little fuel to the fire? Did you all get your "letter from the White House" today? I did! At this moment, I am fuming…… fuming, I tell you!! (I subscribe to c-span.org…. that's why I got it) As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, NOT the U.S. Government. Here is the letter:

    Dear Friends,
Last week, I announced United We Serve – a nationwide call to service challenging you and all Americans to volunteer this summer and be part of building a new foundation for America.
And when I say "all," I mean everyone – young and old, from every background, all across the country. We need individuals, community, organizations, foundations, and our government to be part of this effort.
Today, for the official kickoff of United We Serve, members of my administration have fanned out across America to participate in service events and encouraged Americans to join them. The First Lady is rolling up her sleeves and getting to work, too. But before she headed out today, she asked me to share this message with you (video) …same blah, blah, blah and how she enjoyed bringing young people into political service.

Our nation faces some of the greatest challenges it has in generations and we know it's going to take alot of hard work to get us back on track.
While Michelle and I are calling on every American to participate in United We Serve, the call to service doesn't end this fall. We need to stay involved in our towns and communities for a long time to come. AFTER ALL, AMERICA'S NEW FOUNDATION WILL BE BUILT ONE NEIGHBORHOOD AT A TIME AND THAT STARTS WITH YOU.
    Thank you,
    President Barack Obama

What New foundation? I like the old one. Don't get me wrong, I believe in service but if this doesn't sound like a sweetsie little way to make us wards of the state…. I don't know what does!! What say you???????

    • floridagal says:

I think what angers me the most is how Obama is trying to usurp the role of the church and all their good works in trying to bring more people into God's house. People are so mislead by believing in the idea that all service and volunteer work is inherently good no matter who or what you are doing it for. I think this is the way the USSR got started.

    • kwicgov55 says:

That sounds like an indoctrination letter floridagal. It's a feel good letter for all who worship at the alter of Obama! We do not need community organizer Obama to tell us we need to volunteer in our communities. We Americans are the most giving people in the world. I wonder if Acorn is in charge of United We Serve? Thanks for sharing your letter floridagal.

    • kwicgov55 says:

floridagal, I tried to reply to your post and "poof", my post vanished into the realm of the moderator! I will try to post again after a few word changes. In any case floridagal I wanted to thank you for sharing your letter.

    • beenfield says:

I know John Kennedy did the peace corp headed by his brother in law Shriver I believe, but this youth thing , which is how it first was brought out, reminds me too much of the young people drawn in by Hitler. Now they are saying older and retired people too. I think this also is run by ACORN and I want no part of it. I volunteer at church and help with the homeless as most other Americans do. We do not need Barry telling us to volunteer and I certainly do not want my kids or grandkids drawn into this "volunteerism" run by the progressives. First lady should roll up her sleeves , maybe she will grow to be proud of America but will we be able to be proud when that happens? They have too big a chance to turn our kids heads in school, I think I will take the off school hours. Thanks, but no thanks!

    • kwicgov55 says:

That sounds like an in-doc-tri-nation letter floridagal. It's a feel good letter for all who worship at the alter of Obama! We do not need community or-ga-nizer Obama to tell us we need to volunteer in our communities. We Americans are the most giving people in the world. I wonder if A-corn is in charge of United We Serve? Thanks for sharing your letter floridagal.

    • 1776time says:

What Obama is starting as a voluntary program, will eventually be mandatory. I heard that it might start as
having to volunteer a certain number of hours of community service, in order to graduate from high school.
This practice will give Obama experience for the future, if he wants to place conseratives in labor camps.
I respect people who volunteer their time and effort to serve others, but we don't need Obama telling us to do so. Volunteer to me means being willing to serve, not being told to.

    • cowterline says:

I also received that email today. Very disturbing. I don't know what the "new foundation" is, but I'm pretty sure it's not the Constitution.

    • shelbygt says:

What's he even talking about? Does he want us to go out and lay railroad ties or something? I'm 48 YO. I'm lucky to get out of bed in the morning. No thanks.

    • MTAdams says:

That is a flat scary letter, considering the source. Obama has some nerve!! He is in the process of totally destroying the foundation this country was built on; while spending us into oblivion. Now he wants more help from the very people he is feverishly trying to enslave! I just hope this country and its elected representatives come to their senses soon. To quote a great American, This country is "Stuck on Stupid!",and we're running out of time and excuses. Fellow Americans it is time to wake up and get involved in turning this mess around. I personally feel the Main Stream Media is where to start. Never take your eyes off Goldman Sachs; their finger prints are on everything, to include Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae!

    • Bouttogo says:

I and a friend were talking Saturday and discussed 'what ifs'.

What if this idiot is successful in tearing this country apart?

What if his 'redistribution' gets excessive?

What if our military and civil law stick with the "Idiot in Chief" should it come to a "Let's Roll" situation?

What if, what if, what if,,,,,,,if it goes to hell in a hand basket, we, both owning capable sailboats, may form our own program, excuse me, foundation.

      ""United We Sail""

    • Bouttogo says:

This to the admin Could you respond to me as to why my reply to this post was rejected

    • Velkro says:

I'm all for helping others out but I will do it on my own time, when I feel like it, and I will help in the way that I feel will most benefit my community. I wish President Obama would realize how charitable Americans really are and quit trying to act like we don't help at all.

I am also worried by the whole "New Foundation" thing. I mean, it's obvious to many of us here that the foundation of our Country is already in place and working just fine.

      • Bouttogo says:

There are certain groups who will never realize how charitable other groups are. Their endgame is not equal opportunity, it is equal possession.

Those who don't do expect to be provided for at the expense of those that do do (HA HA).

Now, do do in your left hand and collect gratitude in your right hand. This is provided you are right handed.

You will wind up with one hand totally free to work with and one full of crap.

      • Hobbes says:

I'm sure you'll remember, Velcro, that our President condemned Americans as "Greedy". He has not only ignored, but denied that this nation has been more charitable on a private basis than any other. You have to forgive that, I guess, on the basis that the people he has hung around with all of his life are radical left wingers who, as a subset of Americans, are noted for their lack of personal charitable giving. Remember the pitiful charity deductions that showed up on Al Gore's tax returns, for example?

    • godandtheusa says:

Yes, it was part of his campaign. He called it BARACK OBAMA’S PLAN FOR UNIVERSAL VOLUNTARY CITIZEN SERVICE. I have the whole list. Barack Obama’s national service plan will cost about $3.5 billion per year when it is fully implemented. Granted we won't see the money. Here are a few expansions. Classroom Corps, Clean Energy Corps, Homeland Security Corps, Veterans Corps and the list goes on. Basically, they want us on a leash.

Grassroot events we can expose more of this future bondage..

    • TJwasright says:

You can't create a personal army without creating soldiers. Obama said during the campaign he wants a national police force that's manned, armed and funded equal to the Dept. of Defense.

    • floridagal says:

All great responses! The thing of it is…. is that Obama is usurping the role of the church….. in broad daylight! God said bring the whole tithe and offering into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. How else can He attract, care for, and bring lost souls into the fold if the secular government takes the credit for it? Isn't this the way the USSR got started? They eventually abolished religion. Obama is doing it in a very sneaky way of "saying he is a Christian" but what did he do on National Prayer Day? NOTHING ! Oh, this guy has so many people fooled… it's not only scary… it's nauseating!

    • garywh says:

    • uuuggh says:

No snail mail here YET but I got at least 2 emails on this BO putting Michelle out there for this wonderful crap. I wonder how many of our dollars will be paying her for her effort. I do know I object to using my money to send me Obama's propaganda. Isn't there a law against this? Guess we need to do a campaign to get the law changed if we can be fined for not answering census. Hey off track but did anyone notice with 2 wars no casuality numbers are being pubished since BO in??

    • GA_Cort says:

Good post. Helps you realize that "you will be assimilated" from Star Trek some of these crazy politicians we are becoming

  13. magnificent says:

Let this be loud and clear to everyone on the internet and the world. If any Acorn nuts come to my home they will be run off the property!!!!
I've got something waiting for you and it will not be pretty!
I answer to nothing on that census but my name rank and serial number. That's it! Fine me! Put me government moron watch. I don't care.
I am boiling inside at the thought of my hard earned tax dollars being used to fund the liberal democrat voting machine they call ACORN! This MUST be stopped.

  14. Jerseygal says:

Gee, are my comments still in moderation?

  15. FlaTater says:

Read a question above that stated" What would happen if no one answered the Door for the Census/" Whats going to happen, when 12 million of so illegal aliens hide out in their holes or where ever they will go? Why and how do illegals get aid, welfare and health care? How is it possible for two illegals to have a baby and the baby is now a legal American…..Could me and my wife go to France, Spain, Germany or where ever, have a baby in that county and it be a legal citizen of that county,,I think NOT!

  16. lisboncaine says:

I wonder how important they will think this is up in the White House. It's been 10 years since the last census was conducted…I can't remember ever hearing about people being prosecuted for not answering.

I threw mine in the trash last time, actually.

However, it would be interesting if they chose to push the point. You see there's this little part of the US Code called Title 18…Title 18 codifies Civil Rights and Civil Rights, dear friends are derived from…you guessed it, Constitutional rights. As such they must be defined in accord with them…and protected classes must be given the opportunity to participate in bringing claims and claims are adjudicated based on the progeny of law known as Constitutional Law.

For a moment I'll set aside my normal revulsion with Title 18 as it subrogates the Natural Rights of the Constitution to the code of the government….

The title may also be used to define classes that can bring original actions in Federal Court…and have their class and their cause certified as a Constitutional question.

It sounds to me as if the good Congresswoman from Minnesota may be on to something here. I wonder…in the spirit of Tea Parties and the Million Free Men and Women March on Washington I'm still waiting for…well, if 3 or 4 million of us simply did what the Congresswoman suggests….as she is correct.

The Constitution provides for no more than a simple count. Everything beyond that is an invention of creative governance….I'll leave it to you all to define that, as it has as many definitions as we will allow…and we seem willing to allow any of them.

Anyway….I digress….should such a spontaneous outbreak of common sense actually take hold…it would be interesting to have that class and that cause defined and certified in Federal Court…..

Ahh, think of huge DRAG that would cause….is it possible that we could finally start using some of the tactics of the other side….to fight them.

As, we can plainly see….they work.

  17. Jerseygal says:

Am I still going into moderation?

  18. beenfield says:

O.K. you " moderators" why was my comment not put out there? Was it the Hitler comparison and the brown shirts? Just Curious!

  19. PirateNPink says:

One came to my door……..I hid in the bathroom

  20. lmomeny says:

Said it before. I'll answer the census questions when Obama provides a real birth certificate, school records and shows us where the campaign money came from. And, when they come to my house they better have several forms of picture I.D. that I can copy. Then they may return, after varification. Lots of I.D. theft out there ya know?

  21. homeusa69 says:

Do we have to answer the questions?

    • donhooksc says:

NO! You only have to answer (according to the Constitution of THESE United states) how many people live in your household. You do not have to answer income, party affiliation, or any other question on the Obama/ACORN form. If they come to your door you do not have to answer questions about ANY issue (as long as you sent your census in). I will answer my door with my 40 caliber.

  22. tehee says:

I love how NOW they are sending the "short form" only to every household in America. If you go to the 2010 census website they have taken the "long form" off. However, if you look in the press release it specifically states that an "American Community Survey" is replacing the long form and will also be sent out with all the same questions that were on the long form.
I am sorry I do genealogy research and have copies of census records from 1820-1930 and none of these questions are there. Since 1820 questions included: address, names, age, race, marital status & age at marriage, #births, education, property owned/rented & Value, education, occupation, read& write, veteran Yes or no & disability. Thats it always except Native American Indians which included tribe and percentage of Indian by blood.

Congresswoman Bachmann, you GO GIRL! We will be doing the same.

  24. Carolecares2 says:

I have seen Bill O interview Acorn and it scares me to death to think these poeple will be in charge of our confidential information…the same people who were allowed to touch our voter registrations. The same people who lie and get rewarded by Obama with millions of our hard earned over taxed dollars. Obama gives our money away as if he has a right to do so.

  25. galyssa427 says:

What if We all say We are Democrats?

  26. IronGauntlet says:

Thanks to ACORN, more dead people and cartoon characters voted in this election than ever before!
    Thanks a bunch, dudes!

  27. bawnyfwank says:

okay folks, lets all move to Texas. I'm telling you, screw the rest of the states. They can have them. Lets take our bibles, guns and kids to Texas and someone grab the Constitution on your way down!
We can start a new country based on the values of the old one. Let the liberals have the rest. It's like getting a divorce, sometimes your best off to let her have the damn house, the dog whatever. Just get it over with!!!

  28. OleTex says:

Contact your reps, and sens. If enough,i.e.,661+k 912'ers, they might get the message now, and if not then in 2010. My congressman is a dem who voted 98.3% dem party line. I email him daily, call his office daily, and remind him daily that he will be ousted in 2010. we surround them.

  29. sacragious says:

I am looking for a couple of special programs that Fox news did which very clearly showed his connection to Acorn and their connection to the financial collapse of the housing market. Just deleted off my tivo last week.
I believe one program was done by Hannity and the other Bret Baer, but they were done close together. Both programs showed ACORNS connection to bad home loans as part of a larger story and as a part of this showed Obamas role with acorn in these events.

  30. 1776time says:

If I even do cooperate with the census, I will only give the number of people in my household. It makes one wonder how accurate the census will be with all of the illegal aliens we have living in the US under fictitious names! Good luck with all that!

  31. Liberty72 says:

Is anybody concerned at all that some (if not all) of the questions should already be in government knowledge? "How many people are on food stamps" uhm, if the government doesn't know that, we're in trouble.

  32. Texan2 says:

Census tract data was used by an earlier Democratic Administration to efficently round up a minority considered a potential "enemy of the state" (Japanese-Americans). Who can assure me this CANNOT happen again given this Administration's earlier classification of anyone who belives in God, guns and the Constitution as a
right wing extremist" as well as the use of GPS to "fix" every residence in the USA.?

    • George_3 says:

This can not happen in the United States. Oh wait a minute, They can't fly into the two tallest buildings in New York or fly through the most secure air space in the world and crash into the pentigon. we can never say say anything can't happen again in our life time.

  33. Scooter3849 says:

Seriously, what happens if I just refuse to answer the door?

  34. Shadrach says:

You know, this fits right in with B.O.&Co and the Chicago mentality of doing things. His motley crew of personnel around him, tax cheats and the like, having ACORN come around doing the census. "You will play by our rules and give us what we want, or you will pay", this will be nothing short of a "shake down"!! With almost 10% of the population out of work and the economy in shambles, people cannot afford a $5,000 fine if they don't play along, and D.C. knows this!!! I'm telling you, I believe these things have been coming straight out of a playbook since Jan. 20th, and how they would expect anything other than a complete collapse of this great country defies logic!!

    • DMN says:

So what are we going to do about it? Where are the honest politicians who should be enraged by our government's corruption? Are they all in on it? I feel like Obama now owns the government.

      • Shadrach says:

Well, Honest Politician is an Oxymoron, or at least a misnomer. But I know what you are saying DMN, I have at least one in my district. And I have written him on several subjects, I checked his voting record against what he told me in his letters, and he is telling me the truth. He is a Republican Congressman and has helped me on issues in the past and I do trust him, not because of his party affiliate but because he kept his word. I have also written two Senators who have voted against the spending bills and they are also against his Health Care, and bail outs, expanding Government, exorbitant spending, etc. I have checked their voting record and they are also telling the truth. I understand that it is 'We The People" and not the parties that matter. But to the parties, that is all that matters, on both sides!! That's why they belong to each affiliate!! The Democrats are in control now, and are getting done what they want while they can, the Republicans cannot filibuster anything!! To the Democrats this has been a long time coming. What can we do?? I don't know, if I did I would be shouting it from the roof tops, and on here spreading the word. We can make a lot of noise about our frustrations, in as many peaceful non violent ways we can. And let the ones that got us in this mess to begin with know, they are on notice!! Their jobs are in serious jeopardy, hear us or be fired!!! That's all I know, I'm open for ideas. I'm reading the 5000 year leap and informing myself as much as possible about how the Gov. works and where this thing is headed, if anyone has this book out there, page 24 tells a lot, it is a peek into what is happening right now, and this book was written in 1981.

  35. Nitro says:

In the reading of the article above, I also ran into this article…which shows the utter contempt of the people by this administration. It is a disgusting display of power and corruption!

    • Nitro says:

Here is some more info on the subject…The $300 Million Reason Why Obama Fired IG Gerald Walpin!

      http://www.hoguenews.com

    • kwicgov55 says:

Thanks for the link Nitro. I hope that Mr. Walpin is exonerated and is reinstated in his job. Obama needs to remember that he isn't in Chicago anymore and that even though he has placed many from that corrupt state in his administration, that he can't control everyone in Washington as he and his mafia did in Chicago.

    • Boopster says:

This Administration is the worst I have ever seen. They have taken greed and corruption to a new level.

    • Bouttogo says:

Everyone remember Nixon,,"I am not a crook"?

If obama were to say this, I swear lightening would strike.

  36. kjco says:

I was an enumerator in the 2000 census. I did my job well enough that they wanted to hire me for permanent work. I was assigned to re-do the work for the (mostly) young adults who falsified their reports to make a buck but not really do the work & got caught/fired. I worked w/ a rainbow of people, as well as enumerated neighborhoods which ethnically reflected all of us in our group of workers.
However, when I applied for the job this time, I was met by an all-ethnic management staff who gave preferential treatment to the ethnicity of their choice. For instance, those of their same race were put to the front of the line for paperwork despite being late for or having non-existent appointments. There were those who flunked the exam who were allowed to "correct" the exam.
There were also young girls who I watched & heard lie about their residence (thinking, mistakenly, that they had to live w/in the city boundaries in order to qualify) they purposely chose a census tract # w/in the city limits when they showed me they lived outside the city limits in a different tract # ! I was sitting under their armpits as they plotted their strategy on the map over my head in the cramped little room. If you lied about your tract #, it's obvious because it wouldn't match up w/your application address– but if you claimed ignorance to cover your tracks–what good are you as a census taker/enumerator anyway?!?!?.
When the middle-aged white guys (and the two of us "gals") played by the rules, they were told, "Sorry–don't call us we'll call you." There were felons (they admitted it to the group) who were put through, and high school drop outs who could not read who were given the opportunity, but not college educated, stay-at-home mom's who had experience doing the job or white guys out of work.
I live in Northern Virginia an hour outside DC, but the last time I did the Census I was in Montgomery Co. Maryland where it is even more diverse than here. I didn't have any problems in Mo.Co. but WHAT'S UP W/THIS CENSUS?!?!

To late bawnyfwank, that's been happening since affirmative action started ruling the work force. A black women has a better chance of getting a job that she isn't even qualified for over a white women, white man and a black man who is qualified for the job. A black women can get the job because she's black and a women which fulfills the race and woman quota set forth by our government.

Constitutional requirements aside for the sake of this one argument….I assume this requirement was written because at the time there were no ways to determine how many people existed here.(it used to be many years ago that only adults were on the tax returns, at that time and before computers a census was the only way to count the people, then the # of dependants were added now name and ss # are required) Why are we doing a "census" at all? Can't the government get the information they need on number of persons, age and location already? from the IRS via tax returns???? Aren't all persons whether it be that one is a independant adult or a dependant on a tax return? And if someone is not filing tax returns they are not likely to answer any census question. What a huge waste of money in the current times. I for one will not answer anything other than the number of persons in my household and then only if they can get hold of me. There is no proof that I receive a survey in the mail and as far as I know there is still no law that requires that I answer my door for anyone much less a stranger that I do not know.

  44. RNHunter says:

She has every reason to be worried. Information by many has been used in the past to hurt people, to raise their taxes, to increase their insurance rates, to tell them what to do, to provide scandal on them if another person dislikes them. Information is one of the first points of control. A book, 1984, by George Orwell spoke to how the government controlled every portion of people's lives using video and other means to spy on them. Between the already discredited Acorn being part of the poll (and no Democrat cares) and Obama's drive to get GE or someone else to do a health care data base that has all of our private information, he is putting himself in a position to become the 1984 Big Brother figure.

  45. NNYChris says:

Article 1, Section 2, Part 3 of the Constitution reads: "…and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such MANNER as they shall by law direct." (my CAPS)

If "they", being the Congress, by law directs the "manner" (defined as being the way or method of doing)…

    answer me this:

How can the White House take the Census "in-house", give it to the President's Chief of Staff (Rahm Emmanuel), and then use ACORN to conduct the census, IF CONGRESS HAS NOT PASSED ANY LAW TO SUCH EFFECT?

Surprise! Another example of the Constitution being discarded and the so-called "Representatives" not even knowing what they are in charge of.

Am I wrong on this? If so, how?

    • kypatroit says:

No, I don't think you are wrong. It seems the Constitution has been totally ignored! This administration does whatever, whenever they want! LIke Pelosi accusing the CIA of lying to her and Congress!! Where did that go? What about ACORN charged with voter fraud? They changed their name, but their dirty deeds remain the same! It's insane what's happening to this Country! I no longer have much hope for us. BHO is driving this once great Country of ours right to hell!

      • NNYChris says:

Well, if people like Rep. Bachmann and others don't stand up and challenge this, if you think ACORN's voter registration shenanigans are bad, wait 'til they create more seats in Congress out of thin air by skewing the census.
I've twittered and posted this question to several people and forums and nobody has come up with a reason why my observation is wrong.

Please ask your reps in congress about this and ask them to stand up and challenge it!

  51. DMN says:

What involvement did Obama have with Acorn before he became President? This needs to be investigated….he's given them unbelievable power/influence over our lives. WHY? There has to be a trail of corruption involving Obama that can be proven; why is no one besides Beck, Bachmann, and O'Reilly taking this whole thing seriously?

  52. JAC60 says:

I really like Michelle Bachmann. She was also the one who has been trying to get a bill that would hold all tax money to ACORN until investigations are done. Of course, the dems wouldn't allow her bill. She was also a victim of Pelosi really going after her last fall in her re-election bid. Pelosi brought millions of $ and went to MN to derail Bachmann.

Yep, Palin and Bachmann could be a real force of cleaning up Washington. So, that'll never happen. Too many crooks in Washington that won't allow a cleansing.

    • DMN says:

At least we now know a couple of the good guys and we need to support both Palin and Bachmann. We can not allow them to be steamrolled by our bully government.

  54. Rahthrae says:

I really like Rep. Bachmann. I hope she continues to stand on her principles. It's not exactly nuclear physics here. The equation is simple. Politically biased organization guilty of fraud + the possibility of manipulating a vast amount of critical data = problem. The fact our tax dollars are being stolen from us to be used against us to subvert elections amongst so many other things harmful to our republic is insanity. I am amazed there is partisan divide on this issue. It really shows the lack of patriotism in many of our officials. I am equally amazed that knowing our own history of founding, and even while watching Iran that they don't reconsider tampering with our own republic. No patriotism, and no fear of consequences eventually leads to the people resetting government. Period. That's not a difficult equation either.

    • irongirl says:

May be she should organise the republicans to particiapte in the census. That would reduce the likely hood of fraud.

    • DMN says:

There's a huge power grab going on and everyone seems to want his/her piece of the pie. They're lining up behind Obama with their hands open. If more of our politicians don't stand up and protest what's going on before it's too late, we are going to have fixed elections for the rest of our lives. Our country is in greater danger than it has EVER been in before. It's not a case of Democrat = Bad guy; Republican = Good guy. This is a case of corruption in BOTH parties. Otherwise, Republicans would not just be rolling over for what's happening in our government right now.

      • Rahthrae says:

I completely agree. With ACORN though, it seems to be more partisan because of the name recognition I think. Neither side makes mention of all the other organizations that operate like ACORN or are affiliated with them. Unfortunately, a lot of the decent freshman in congress are forced to vote along party lines. They get corrupted easier because they trade their principles for party backing early on because you have to be a millionaire in most cases to be able to run for office without a party backing you. That consideration not withstanding the simple fact that both parties would attack them to preserve the system they've created, and worked so hard to maintain. I've been trying to think around this problem, but I haven't found a workable solution yet.

I will have to agree with the congressperson on this one. With ACORN oganization, with the full backing from Obama, and his Democrats, workers duing the census next year, I also will fill out just the number if people residing in my household! Obama has said before that he wants the results of the census brought to him, and he plans to manipulate the results to recreate the new districts around the country for the soul reason of giving the Democrat party a stronger position in each district! Another Obamacratic manuver towards a Dictatorship!

    • DMN says:

Given everything Obama is doing in public (where we can see him), just think of what he's doing in private. We seriously are in danger of his becoming a dictator…..we'll have elections, like Iran did, but Obama will be the one calling all the shots.

I'm telling you, I believe these things have been coming straight out of a play book since Jan. 20th,

    • Good job Vettenut!!

I've heard that these forms have a bar code on them that when read actually already tells the government who the questionaire belonged to and that persons adress so that combined with your filling out how many people lived in the house is all they need to know and all they legally can force you to tell them per the US Constitution.

      • donhooksc says:

Wonder if that bar code is THE mark of the beast (aka Obama)? This is a reason to cancel your land line and just use a cell phone.

  69. NancyNurse says:

I agree with this legislator—give as little info about yourself to BIG BROTHER and his cohorts as possible. I see real issues with identity theft and even 'scoping' for future home invasions by those in the ACORN subset of census workers. Desperate people do desperate things. However, the main impetus for ACORN to get these juicy assignments is not financial. It is to tilt power into the direction of their perception of 'minorities.' There has to be much more efficient and less risky ways to count noses.
I propose a complete overhaul of our Federal ID program— iris scans/ fingerprints, genetic markers whatever. Something easy to digitalize and difficult to fudge. Clearly, social security numbers and birth certificates/voter registration cards are not doing what they were intended to do.
Regardless, a census taker should have a clean record both financially and legally to avoid widespread fraud. ACORN being used as census takers is as ridiculous as ACORN being employed at banks. No one on earth is going to trust these people's end product—a clean and fair ACCURATE count of our citizenry and visitors.

I love how NOW they are sending the "short form" only to every household in America. If you go to the 2010 census website they have taken the "long form" off. However, if you look in the press release it specifically states that an "American Community Survey" is replacing the long form and will also be sent out will all the same questions that were on the long form.
I am sorry I do geneolagy research and have copies of census records from 1820-1930 and none of these questions are there. Since 1820 questions included: address, names, age, race, marital status & age at marriage, #births, education, property owned/rented & Value, education, occupation, read& write, veteran Yes or no & disability. Thats it always except Native American Indians which included tribe and percentage of Indian by blood.

This will be my first official census since we were between homes during the last time the census man came around. I have done family history research and found that previous questions that were asked on censuses were helpful in determining my family's history but these questions focused on career (not company), immigration status and country origin (not race), and how many residents lived in the home. Like a previous poster said, I would not answer any question that would make me feel uncomfortable passing out to a complete stranger. Telling for instance, how much I make, how many toilets I have, and when I leave for work are no one's business and frankly something various governemnt agencies can find out for themselves and use for valid purposes without sending random people out to my house.

    • tehee says:

Be1776, I too have done family history research. Some of the stuff on the census is really helpfull in tracing family members but, wow. The questions on the "long form", I mean the new "American Community Survey" are no ones business. I don't think it matters how many people drive in your car or what time you leave your house. I would never tell a complete stranger what time to come rob me! In addition while they have asked about occupation or value of real estate I don't see the relevance in some of these in delpth questions. I am really not sure why hispanic origin is a seperate quesiton from ethnic background as well? Shouldn't it just be listed under race?

In addition while they have asked about occupation or value of real estate I don't see the relevance in some of these in delpth questions. I am really not sure why hispanic origin is a seperate quesiton from ethnic background as well? Shouldn't it just be listed under race?

Be1776, I too have done family history research. Some of the stuff on the census is really helpfull in tracing family members but, wow. The questions on the "long form", I mean the new "American Community Survey" that is replacing the "long form" are no ones business. I don't think it matters how many people drive in your car or what time you leave your house. I would never tell a complete stranger what time to come rob me! In addition while they have asked about occupation or value of real estate I don't see the relevance $$ amounts on salary, pension, dividends and the like type questions. I am really not sure why hispanic origin is a seperate quesiton from ethnic background as well? Shouldn't it just be listed under race?

    • TheProphet says:

Gee your lucky in thirty years of living in mine I have not seen one yet.

  73. SnowDogMom says:

With Acorn chaning their name and using International in it should bar them from getting federal funding.

  74. Why are there people out on the streets in America, protesting and speaking out for the
people in Iran… yet, no one is gathering to protest and speak out against all that is happening
here at home, to us… ?

    • TMGallagher says:

I'm going to a protest tomorrow at 1:00 PM at the Santa Monica Pier.

    • ABerneathy says:

There are plenty of people here speaking out and protesting what's happening to our country. Join the Tea Parties and you'll see. We will get things done! A lot will start 2010 with the elections – we will be voting Incumbents OUT! It doesn't matter which party they are in, they will be going!

    • NateDog says:

It's because of the overwhelming complacency that blocks the minds of the majority of Americans. We're either divided into groups that say "Well, they wouldn't do THAT…" or groups that whine "They can't do that. It violates the constitution…"

Folks, they ARE doing "that". They're starting very slow and will slowly increase the control of the federal government until America will only be a shadow of the country our founding fathers established. I heard it best on here compared to "boiling a frog" (start with low heat and increase it so slowly the frog never puts up a fight). This is how BHO and the progressives are going to destroy the constitution and convert us into an outright socialist nation. If they did it all at once, of course we would fight. According to their plan, by the time it's over we'll all be lining up to turn in our handguns, etc. We need more tea parties to wake people up.

    • magnificent says:

I've been thinking the same damn thing.

    • ABerneathy says:

I would also like to add that if you don't watch Fox TV you won't see us protesting at all because CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN won't show us protesting at all unless it is something negative they have put in themselves. I personally have been out on the streets protesting twice now and will again on July 4. Watch FOX if you want to see us!

  75. ruth1946 says:

According to the counter there are 661,235 of us .We must unite and only supply they with the number of people living in our home. Do you think they want to file 661,235 + law suites to fine us?

  76. CC76 says:

I'm trying to still figure out these new questions. It sounds like a questionaire for GE more than anything. I mean that by saying for example, they wanted to put in the "smart" thermostats in your house that turn off certain machines for proper use. If you tell the gov. when you leave and when you get home, doesn't that give them the exact hours to set your thermostat. I also hear that on the 2010 tax return, they will want you to list how many firearms you own. On your tax return? I mean what else could it be. I'll continue to research to try and figure this out. As for Acorn, I have already written my congressman a couple of times calling for their investigation and the white house as well. As you probably can guess, I have no response from either yet.

  77. People in our government don't read anything anyway! All this info will just benefit those that the government helps by bail outs and etc. The white house itself could care less whats on the census.

  78. bawnyfwank says:

I think I'll fill it out. I can't afford fines, court dates etc….
but I'm going to lie about everything except how many people live in my house.

  79. wacveteran says:

I would say I thought it said "censuous", that it was a porn ad and threw it away.

  80. RobNRick says:

I have not received one of those 95 page things to answer yet but if I do we WILL NOT answer any questions except how many people are in our home. They have NO REASON to ask me what time I leave for work or how many toilets I have and how much money I make. If everyone who gets one refuses to answer those questions they cant arrest all of us. Acorn is corrupt, people working for acorn are criminals and I will not give criminals any personal information so they can steal my identity and do criminal things with my information. Rep Bachmann is the kind of leader we NEED in Washington. She is great!

  81. cajunpatriot says:

It's really pathetic that as a country we can't even count without it becomming an opportunity for political corruption.

  82. TJwasright says:

She's not the only one concerned about the proposed census. I frankly do not trust any private group to take a census; especially one which is as transparently partisan as ACORN. The federal government needs to get back to governing, and they also need to stop gathering information that's none of their business.

  83. kenoshax says:

the more i see of people like Rep. Michele Bachmann, the better i feel that some one in washington is looking out for me, thanks Michele. keep up the fight

  84. Dustyluv says:

Mickey Mouse and tony Romo live at my house…Thats all they will get on my census form…

My Rotweiller will answer any more questions they might want to ask him…

  85. acheyjake says:

Earlier this year, I applied for a part time job with the Census Bureau locally. I wanted to participate in the 2010 census just to see it in action in my area and I wanted to see if I would actually witness any corruption. I was called by 4 different people and I did receive an offer but the part time hours they wanted me to work were completely incompatible for any one who actually has a full time job.

    • sicofit says:

      Acheyjake,
Regarding your post on vet which suffered an ill fate. (New Dark Ages)
The Census collecting personal information to use against us.
The EPA stopping all productivity in this country. (Drilling, manufacturing and so on) Now for the first time stopping food production in Cali)

  86. Barb66 says:

There is no way we are going to get an accurate census ever again. The people in Washington and I mean most are not working for the people. We need to just throw the papers away and if you are a senior I think we can say we got frustrated and just couldn't figure them out. We understand that it is a census and just don't understand what all this other stuff is. After all it is numbers you fill in. How many people live here…..

  87. I am looking into the law. The Census is legal however the intent and information gathering can go beyond what the Constitution calls for. The invasion of privacy, illegal search and seizure and a host of other arguments may be made based on what information and at what degree they intend to intimidate or force people into giving in. We shall see.
Meanwhile, kudos to Rep. Bachmann. She is a firebrand and we need more of them.

    • I have done some significant research in the last four days and can find nothing in title 13 section 221 that requires any more information than who and how many who's live in your home. The sole intent of Article 1 Section 2 of the Constitution regarding Enumeration, was for the collection of data to ensure proper representation in Congress. It appears that ACS is not and should not be part of the Census. I can not find any support that it can be included in Census data collection. I would further conlclude that since the Census was moved from the Dept of Commerce, it may lose any and all credibility with regard to law except the enumeration data collection call for in the Constitution. If anyone has further info regarding this, I welcome input.

  88. Dave48763 says:

Census takers,,,,NO,,I will not provide any information to any so called census takers till the US Government can insure that the information is as protected and done by honest and credible collectors,,,,with the VAST ACORN issue and ACORN involvement,,,,,NO,,,investigate ACORN,,,every person doing a census should have a background check,,,,and the government should ask no more info than has been required in past census,,,,the value of American privacy is NOT a political toy,,,NOR should the Obama place the census under White House influences, control,,,return it to the NETRUAL agency from which it was moved,,,

One thing should be clear,,,,NO ILLEGAL aliens should be included,,,the corruption of the census must be protected,,,NOT manipulated for either parties gain,,,POST what the Offical census document authorized to be used has on it,,,,let ALL Americans see what a real one has on it,,,I will NOT take the word of just any stranger presenting me some document I have NEVER seen,,,scams are scams,,,ID thieft is common,,,

  89. Jerseygal says:

I knew it had to be Michelle Bachman! All Repubs should join her and oppose ACORN'S involvement in the census. Given ACORN's numerous indictments on voter fraud issues, she should have no problem getting support from the people as well. Why can't we advertise and hire individuals simply looking for work? Oh yeah – any Joe off the street would have to have a background check and stuff. Wait – isn't ACORN the org who hired identity thieves to register votes? One more reason to deny ACORN the 'opportunity' to work on the census. Michelle Bachman is right on with this and needs our support!

Anyone from Minnesota, please comment on your impressions of her. I think the rest of us would like to know!

    • Jerseygal says:

The article referred to Michelle Bachman as a 'lightning rod,' and we should all be aware that she was the Congresswoman who wrote a bill to make law that our US currency would not be replaced by any global monetary unit! I am not sure if the bill went anywhere, or if it was tacked on to something else.

Regardless, a census taker should have a clean record both financial and legal to avoid widespread fraud. ACORN being used as census takers is as ridiculous as ACORN being employed at banks. No one on earth is going to trust these people's end product—a clean and fair ACCURATE count of our citizenry and visitors.

  91. Docadams says:

And we're stupid, we should be protesting exactly like the Iranians.

  92. donhooksc says:

No asswipe. I need a gun to protect me and my family from criminals – like the ACORN workers who are mostly criminals. I have never fired my weapon to defend myself, my family or my property, but I train every other weekend and am PREPARED to do so. Read the freaking Constitution. In fact, tell your president to read it. Then, read the writings of our forefathers as to WHY they made this the 2nd amendment and not the last. Then, and only then, I will discuss this with you further.

  93. kimcares says:

gun is not needed to make someone feel tough,,it is needed to protect your self,,from people who want to hurt you.Think how bad it would be if only the criminals had the guns. They would have to get along with each other, because they would be the only ones left

  94. Kontora says:

ACORN workers who are mostly criminals? Now you are making up facts.

Everyone has a right to have a gun, it's just weird that there are people who need one to make them feel tough. You have to have confidence in all other aspects like your mentality and communication with others.

  95. more like a double negative!!
