I think the Iranians are quite brave. They are continueing to protest knowing they can be shot down in the street at any time. They are making their voices heard regardless. Fighting for what they believe in. We should be so brave.
We either have a weak kneed president that is afraid to speak out, or he agrees with the dictatorship in Iran because he doesn't seem to be much for freedom. I can see that by his actions and words in our own country. I think both are true.
What would be said if there were the same type of peaceful protests here?

Obama would blow us off as not important like he did before. He doesn't like protests especially when they are disagreeing with him. We need to speak louder.

Then the 3:00 A.M. phone call comes.BH0 picks up the phone and nods, "Yes sir, Right away sir. Ok sir.Goodbye Mr.Soros." He hangs up calls the teleprompter to get ready for a speech, but the teleprompt was injured in CO by Mr. "Foot in Mouth", so BH0 calls a speech writer, to write a statement, he doesn't need the teleprompter for a written statement. His statement is delivered, and he returns to continue destroying America.
I'm picturing Obama eating his $100 per pound steak in front of his prayer rug while offering encouragement to the mullahs in Iran. Obama would be giving them advice on how to make fun of the protesters in Iran like he made fun of the "teabaggers" in the US. Maybe he'd be telling the mullahs to call the protesters "sandbaggers" and to laugh at them a lot. That worked for Obama.

No matter what Obama says about Iran, it is going to be questioned. His own head of Homeland Security plus an FBI? or was it a CIA? test lists protestors in the US as terrorists. This is being done at the same time that the Obama administraton refuses to call Islamic terrorists terrorists, and the Obama org is just amazed that we have not given the key to our cities to Gitmo detainees. So the problem Obama will have is how to call protestors in Iran fine people when he calls protestors terrorists or mindless trolls in his own country.
Well here's another thing the "One Worlders" don't understand. The universal rights to assembly and free speech really only apply to U.S citizens in the United States. Our Constitution protects us, but Iran doesn't have a Constitution like ours. As a matter of fact….Who does? And not only that, but I don't want my U.S Constitution to be a One Worlder Constitution, because then the One Worlders will destroy it.
Actually they do. And Article 27 of that document states tht the right to free assembly will be protected as long as it is not against Islam. I guess the nutjob in Iran has no qualms stepping all over his Constitution. Hmmmm…..
I think our so-called president will not stand up for freedom for Muslims as this might offend HIS Muslim friends and family! Seems he is leaning to stand up more for Muslims that for Christians or Jews! But in the end he will take all the credit for the protesters blood because they were obviously inspired by his recent speech in Egypt.
I have firmly believed FREEDOM is what our country was based on and yet it is a word you rarely hear anymore. I remember when immigrants came here for FREEDOM….haven't heard that reason in a long time….I want a job, I want education, I want money to send back home, I demand you give me. One of my favorite movies is Braveheart……there's others but it really hits me hard at what people have done for freedom. Even when you look at slavery, why would people fight for it, to then so quickly be willing to hand that power back over? Or those who claim to support freedom, yet just want to be the new club owner to pound others down and dominate them. (I realize Braveheart is a movie so don't think I'm believing it's 100% factual and all…I read as well and it's a deep respect for all those who did fight for freedom many enjoy…here and other places across the world)
Obama is showing exteme disappointment that he has not brought all of this in Iran to fruition—there goes his Nobel Prize. When one considers what this revolt in Iran really shows is that the Bush/Cheney doctrine inserting pro-West forces and presence in the heart of the Arabian peninsula IS working…..If Obama doesn't blow this, we could be seeing a free and stable Iraq and Iran and if any credit is given it should go to W, not "I don't want to meddle" Obama. Just be on the RIGHT side of history Obama. How would he have liked it if Lincoln had the same approach with the south before, during or after the Civil War— wringing his hands worried about offending someone…..
This is as far as the President can go, the U.S. can't meddle in Iran any longer. We've already got two wars and a serious recession to deal with. Besides those protesters are getting it done through Twitter.

Even if we don't like the guy leading the protests, free and fair elections are the principle for which we must stand.

I envision the administration getting together and deciding what the “politically correct” response should be. The problem is, that can change as the political landscape changes.

When the All-Obama news outlets were spewing vile and racist (not to mention childish) accusations about the people protesting via the Tea Parties, BHO said "Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, Obama said, “let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.” And then he dismissed the protesters as confused about who is responsible for the deficit. It sure as hell isn’t his Recovery Act. Yes … and shortly thereafter, we the people of the Tea Parties were labeled Terrorists!
I agree. I too am sickandtired of people making up "universal rights" then deciding they should be arbitrarily applied to every society. Our “rights” are established by a democratic process, not found under rocks.

I asked the same thing before I read your post. Since when has it become a universal right? Since when has entering a country illegally to work or any other reason become a "human right"? Since when has "free speech" included silencing, disrupting and even getting violent if you don't like what the speech or protestors is about? The population of Iran are young, with 70% of the people who are 30 years old, or younger! If these younger people can draw the older citizens into this unrest, they may have a chance to reverse the election results that were probably tainted towards Ahmadinejad. The last election in the USA were tilted towards Obama with thousands of Irregularities in our own voting process!
This is the same guy (Obama) who would tell our only true ally in the Middle East (Israel) a couple weeks ago in Cairo how to conduct their affairs with radical neighboring countries….yet remained curiously tongue-tied for days while other world leaders took up the freedom cause in Iran….some Messiah he (Obama) has turned out to be, huh?

Obama is a muslim, so he wants our country to be just like Iran….he's moving us in that direction. At some point, he may declare himself to be Allah.
They are not fighting for less government control, they are fighting for less religious control, but I guess you could say over there it is one and the same.
We the People have been sheltered from real violence too long that sometimes it's hard to actually believe it is real. Think of the news reporting from 9/11. Our news agencies didn't show us the real horrors of that day. I have been following the Iranian situation on Twitter (even though I don't text much less tweet) and it makes me realize that Americans need to see the real story to understand the magnitude of it. We are so sanitized regarding the moment of death that I think we don't appreciate life quite as much. Think about it – we don't kill our food anymore – we don't even see it hanging dead in the marketplace – we only see nicely butchered and packaged products.
You're absolutely right. We're also trained to see violence on TV and in our movies, but we're now desensitized to it. What would Americans do if people were being slaughtered right in front of them? Could we stay the course and realize that some of us would die for the good of the others? We've been sheltered for WAY too long.
The American people don't want to fight! They think violence is what they see on T.V. They don't want to know the feeling when your friend is standing beside you and sudenly falls to the ground. His eyes staring into the sky, and you wonder if that round was meant for you. They don't want to see an aircraft go down with a pilot and an AO, both you know. Most Americans, talk about how if someone does something they'll shoot them, they don't know what it feels to pull a trigger on another human being, or for that matter what it is like to hear a round go by your head, or hit close to you. The American people are interested in only one thing THEMSELVES. They will enjoy their freedoms, while great young man and women go out and defend those freedoms. They will enjoy freedom because others are dying for those freedoms. But, don't ask them to do the same thing or even sacrafice their lifestyle.
Sadly….you are correct. I'm guilty for sure. In my life, till now…..there hasn't been anything that has driven me to that point. I can't say it's because I'm only concerned for myself….there's just been alternatives where it hasn't been necessary. I wasn't forced to go to war because women weren't drafted….many enlisted, but not so sure how many actually saw front line action like they do now. They were nurses etc….. I haven't had to take a shot gun and shoot someone, because I could call the police. I haven't killed anything to eat and outside of insects….personally never took the life of anything. I haven't even been with anyone when they passed. I would hope if that time comes, I'll have what it takes….but part of me is glad I don't since too many seem to enjoy it too much once they've crossed the line.
I would agree that at least 60% of us today (if not more) are amune to killing in any form there are a few of us who have hunted or raised critters for table food Outside of my own family (spouce and 3 children) the rest of the family would not know what to do if there were no more grocery stores electric central heat running water etc etc
Something occurred to me today. I had an epiphany of sorts concerning the reality of Obama's aims and goals. Here are my insights and predictions:
First, and most importantly, the Democratic Party is no longer the traditionally loose group of politically like-minded people who tend to think and vote the same way. It has become a full blown political movement with all the ambitions, intensity, altruism and large popular following that a true political movement must have in order to grow and flourish. This movement doesn't play by the usual rules and has no intention of giving up power now, in the near term or at any time in the future. The Republican Party in its present form doesn't understand this and is ill-equipped to counter it. By the time Obama grants citizenship and the right to vote to anyone who wanders across our borders and by the time ACORN manipulates the 2010 census and voting records to create a massive electorate out of nothing, it will be impossbile to vote the movement out of office or out of power. We need only to look at Iran today to see Obama's plans for voting and elections in the new America.
Secondly, Obama and his supporters are creating a shadow government — now, today — that eventually will supplant the real government. I think it will rise up out of the dark, fully grown and formidable while we and our pitiful politicians stand around blinking in confusion. He already is circumventing our traditional government and its many checks and balances by appointing his own heads of nearly everything. His many czars work outside the Constitution and, because they work directly for the president and answer only to him, are untouchable. Had we known then about ACORN, we might have listened.

You've pretty much summed up the entire situation, except that I think Islam is also involved. When our country is finally taken over, the only accepted religion will be Islam or heads will be cut off. This, I believe, goes along with Bible prophecy. That whole "mark of the beast" thing, complete with heads cut off for not taking the mark, seems to be talking about accepting the Anti-Christ or dying. Whether Obama is the Anti-Christ or not, I don't know, but we are definitely moving towards knowing his identity. Once Obama takes over the US with his new shadow government, God help us all.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I have been ranting about this very thing, both here and on my blog, but I'm glad to see others seeing the same thing. You did leave a couple of things out, theis has been building since the mid 60's. Look back and as Glenn brought up on his show, it began with the SDA and Alinsky. The same people that are now working with BH0 to destroy America, were the same young discipiles of the anti war, pro c ommunism movement of the 60's. The movement began, they ran for office, got elected and just waited. BH0 appeared on the scene, was groomed by the powers that be, and elected to public office, then the senate and with the money from Soros to president. Now, their idea of what America can be achieved.
Now the question is: What are we going to do about it?? We can't just sit and talk about it from the sidelines.
There are sadly a number who do want this. I saw the impact and potential problem when I noticed where, and what states the majority of illegal aliens were settling. What states had the most voter fraud on down the line…if for no other purpose than to "vote in" the NAU. Granted, I have looked through one lens, but even through that, have seen how without firing a shot, or even an acknowledgement of war, we could be taken over from within. Right now…we have severe unemployment and government jobs are the only ones expanding and I do agree, if you aren't part of the government, you're chances of survival and oppertunity will be seriously limited. This has been a very specific planned out happening in my opinion. I was listening to a radio show where they were discussing the census and the personal questions….one caller wanted this for all the things the government would give us and claimed if you don't like the New America, leave.

Did I miss something? I mean we have various forms of government across the world. Many do respect the right to assemble and peacefully protest…..but many don't. When has that become a "universal right"? There's many who are taking that right and risking their lives to have it. I suggested it for the comittee hearings on it Friday, and you saw they had problems, maybe some people listened and followed my lead, I'll never know, but maybe, just maybe.
