Shocking climate change news: Jupiter's red spot is shrinking!

    • MegansDad says:

A new report has just been released indicating that South Carolina is one of 40 states that will see electric bills rise under the new cap-and-trade Carbon Tax scheme.

Just so happens that liberal strongholds like California, New York, Connecticut and Washington State will actually see their prices decline… while EVERY RED STATE FROM THE
2008 ELECTION except two will see energy prices increase or skyrocket!

Why are some states (mostly blue states) paying less while other states (historically red states) are getting hammered? Because the new cap-and-trade carbon tax has been totally politicized!

Liberal politicians and bureaucrats are giving themselves
the power to "allocate" the carbon allowances to support
      their political agenda!

According to the New York Times, a similar cap-and-trade "allocations" system failed miserably in Europe, creating a "lobbying free-for-all that led politicians to dole out favors to various industries" while creating "little noticeable benefit to the climate" and generating a "multibillion-dollar windfall" even for favored polluters!

Global warming is a farce created by the environmentalists. Thirty years ago people were concerned with global cooling. The earth does cycle. If we were really worried about global warming and clean energy, we would be discussing nuclear power.

    • ignoredjoe says:

I will be honest with you cutting emissions and enviromental impact is great but it took us 100yrs to get where we are just think if they gave us 50yrs of US produced stable priced energy to be completly off of carbon based fuels we could easly do that but no the earth is going to end next year if we don't stop global warming

      • Shadrach says:

We live in a hurry up society, gotta get it done yesterday or it'll be too late!! No time to think things through, don't read the Bill, just sign it!!!! But they'll do a five year study on how human encroachment is effecting the spotted frog, and use our tax money to pay for it!!!! But, us humans? Well, it's OK, doesn't matter how a Trillion Dollars effects our grandchildren, tax em' and they'll pay for it some how!!!

  5. I've had the same experience, but only when viewing FOX news. I didn't think much of it until I read your post here.

  6. lnbarnes says:

I would not necessarily blame it on the government entirely> I experience much the same slow down and am pretty much sure that the reason is that much of "slow down" is more often due to high traffic from businesses and commercial use.

  7. Deanna says:

I haven't had that problem here in KCMO… yet. I'll keep my eyes peeled and if it starts, I'll let ya know.

  8. MegansDad says:

true, bump, they never get passed that first reaction no ability to reason . hey do not understand that every action has a reaction. stupid do gooders, they what to give a man a fish, never to teach that man to fish.

  9. boxofteabags says:

man that one really needs a warning,Seeing The Ozone Kid pop on your screen like that hurts your eyes.

  10. DMN says:

We need to make a show of force to get our government's attention. They need to understand that we're not just going to rollover and take all these taxes they're trying to shove down our throats.

  11. DMN says:

You're right….you've definitely identified the thinking of progressives. They think they can scare us to do whatever they want us to do.

  12. RNHunter says:

I am not a dairy farmer, but some time back I left industry to open a small business. The money thing seems not so different than what you are seeing. Our expenses are going up along with continued new and higher taxes, We have gone from 3 stores to one store, reworked contracts, and are now working long hours ourselves since we cannot afford to hire more than one employee. Sales are way down. It does make one wonder if this Saul Alinksy thing is right, that Obama and his SDS (students for a democratic society who spawned Acorn and Bill Ayers) is doing what they said – killing the middle class on purpose.

  13. lnbarnes says:

Boy, I am buying pork and beef futures and I am going to make a killing. The farmer has virtually no control over the price that he gets for his critters. He can run registered animals and make sure his animals are certified under various programs offered, but the market is the final arbiter of price.

  14. OldMarine says:

    Stupidity will win everytime

  15. Jerseygal says:

The futures market you speak of fluctuates quite a bit, and in short periods of time. Beef futures may plummet when the gov't buys out dairy herds for slaughter. You will have to pay close attention to the many events that affect those markets. Good luck.

  16. Jerseygal says:

There are standards to maintain. Barns are inspected regularly and the standards are pretty high. Milk is tested at every pick up – for many things like bacteria, anti-biotics, etc. If something is wrong with the load (from multiple dairy farms) and the sample they took from you caused it, you pay all the other farmers for their loss! A dairy farmer must be many things, from mechanic to keep equipment running, to impromptu vet to save a cow, not to mention weatherman, businessman, laborer, electrician, plumber, roofer…..

  17. Shadrach says:

I do remember my father in law being those, especially impromptu vet. The man knew about cows!! He worked on the dairy lanes in Florida in the early 60's. Once, when a calf was born, I thought, well its dead! He worked with it a few minutes and it was standing on it's shaky little legs and bawling, lol. Just a lot of things like that was second nature to him. I know dairy farmers work hard and I ask God to bless you all in your endeavors.

  18. pslwd says:

The truth is, even if global warming was caused by man, we are not the only country in the world. There are many countries in the world that create more pollution then us. India, China, etc are not motivated to change their lifestyle and we cannot fix the whole world.

  19. Jerseygal says:

Thank you. It can be very tough to make a living at it, and it's getting tougher. And you are right about taking our knowledge for granted. I wish I had learned more from my own father, and I learned quite a bit. If those who have lived that life and have not passed on their knowledge, that knowledge dies with them.

  20. 357ben says:

90% of those on welfare, are able bodied. And instead of being given welfare, they should have gotten job training. It would have cost us far less!! I'm not for government doing that either, charities could do a more efficient job.

But, the libs only want to give those on welfare, more welfare. I wonder why. Could it be, they don't think the people on welfare are smart enough to get a job? Considering the demographics of welfare, that would sorta be a racist assumption, right? And libs call us racists!!

  21. TXAG94 says:

Thanks. I hope it never comes to that. We are still the breadbasket for the world due to our innovation and fertile ground. If we screw it up the US won't have anyone but itself to blame. I cringe every time I think about California and all of the laws and restrictions they place on agriculture producers. Most of the laws are passed by idiot legislatures that could tell wheat from corn or a cow from a goat.

  22. TXAG94 says:

He was born in Mexico and migrated to the US. I think he still believes he's a Mexican that just happens to be serving in the US Congress. We call him Zero Rodriguez.

  23. Shadrach says:

That's right pslwd. And B.O.&Co. are formulating taxes and spending bills so they can waste it on an insane idea put forth by an equally insane person, Al Gore. China had to designate an army of people to clean up Beijing's smog for the Olympics. It resembled L.A. or N.Y in the early 70's, The land of China stretches over 3.7 million square miles. It is the third largest country by area. In Square Miles the United States is about the same size as China, the U.S. covers about 3.8 million Square Miles. Russia covers an area of 6.6 million square miles and is the largest country in the World. "While global concerns about climate change conjure images of melting ice caps, submerged cities and massive droughts, some Russian experts are hailing global warming as the answer to Russia's prayers". So our government is taxing our grandchildren into slavery, and the other countries of the World are not worried about it.

  24. Ohiowoman says:

Is this fool up for reelection in 2010? If so, I'd say he has to go.

  25. RipeTomata says:

It's a simple thing the special interest groups i.e. the Sahara Club, Friends of Nature and the I Have My Head Up My @ss are pulling the strings in Washington when it comes to environmental policies. We have to get together and vote out the cronies that bow to these idiotic groups. Anyone in congress that fears reelection has to go. We have to express to our elected representatives that being reelected isn't why we voted for them in the first place.
