Admittly, I left the aviation feild years ago, but I have kept up with the feild and aircraft. I have flown, thru some fairly violent weather in both large (C-141's) and dogged others in samller observation aircraft and frankly lightning strikes are not as bad as people think aircraft are designed for this. That being said, I am with others, I feel that this is a terrorists attack, for the life of me, I can not figure how any aircraft can go down without a "Mayday", no matter how bad of an electrial failure, there are backups to backups for the radio system, there are automated distress signals, there is a switch on the yoke, that the pilot /copolit can flip to send out a distress signal. An aircraft doesn't just "break up" with out good cause. As far as a group taking credit for it, what better way to test a method, keep your mouth shut, knowing it works and then use it over and over again. Or use it to do a massive multi strike. Maybe on the same type of aircraft, thus grounding that aircraft, thus destroying that industry. Or, look at the plot to take down 12 aircraft over the Pacafic, after World Trade 1, in the 90's.
