I did not, I do not use any words that can or might be construed as "blue" or dirty. I do not find it necessary to get my point across, I when I post always try to use proper English in a form that can be read aloud in any type of company. I believe in the old adage you do not talk filth when women or children are around. Yea, yea I am an anachronism in the modern age but language civility when writing generally keeps you from being censored with the exception of some of the admins here.

The only power we have regarding this nationalization of our auto industry is the power of the consumer. I am calling for a boycott of GM. The GM of our forefathers is dead and gone. The new beginning of this GM is something evil. The selfish actions of that company and its employees has led to this. I actually saw a GM employee on TV say he felt the government hasn't done enough. This mentality is leading us screaming past Socialism and straight into Communism. BOYCOTT GM!!! Spread this to your friends and family. This will mean passing up the saving of your dollars to stand on principle, but that is only a small amount of the type of sacrifice needed. Buy FORD. If they take government bailout money boycott them too. This is the beginning of the end. Never buy another GM product. Let them fail regardless of the sacrifice. Foreign autos still stimulate our economy and many of them have plants right here in the USA. Show the government run entities we will not buy into their plan to nationalize our country. Boycott GM.
Might as well let the chinese have Hummer we already owe them so much they're about to own the whole damn country.

Now that GM has become a subsidiary of the government, I have a few questions.
If I buy a new car from GM, can I have the payments withheld from my paycheck?
Will it come with those cool blue and white "US Government" tags until it is paid off?
Can I use it to deliver mail?
When I take it in for an oil change, will I have to wait 10 years for an environmental impact study to be completed before the oil change starts?
Will it come with a Barack Obama antenna ball?
Will I be forced to give free rides to people who aren't helping pay for gas?
Will I have to pull a number and wait in the lobby for nine hours to see a salesman?
Will it take 12 employees and 84 forms to rotate the tires?
Will the tires come over-inflated to increase MPG?
When I buy the car, will I have to fill out schedule B and wait 6 to 8 weeks to receive it?
Will the car run on holidays? (Other days, I assume it will only run poorly).
When I accelerate, will Al Gore's voice come on the radio and remind me of the dangers of global warming?

I have to question this deal, the military Hummer has six types and more than twenty sub-types. From what I could locate they include The cargo troop carrier, the armament carrier, the TOW Missle carrier, the ambulance carrier, the Shelter carrier and a prime mover carrier. Add in all of the sub-types and you have quite a fleet of vehicles that SHOULD be needed in time of war. BUT, if I recall Gates stated some months ago that the military budget could be cut because future wars would be,more than likely,cyber-wars. So, my personal opinion on this issue is that a smaller fleet will be utilized because Obama and Gates do not see future wars as ground based and they chose the Internet Czar to cover the cyber part. So I am questioning the deal on this, will China be using these vehicles to amass a greater Army, and sell to us upon request only, or will we simply not need them any more. Something is amis here.
Isn't it the Hummer that our armed forces use in Iraq? Does this mean we have to negotiate contracts with China to provide these vehicles.
The military Hummer is produced by a "completely" different company and it is an AMERICAN company. I believe the company is AM General.
Get a load of these (they should have been term limited many moons ago), professional politician lawyers on Capitol Hill, attempting to question the GovtWrench puppets (put in place by BO) about the auto industry closing dealerships.

Obama is pretty much proving that he is out to destroy the US. I don't see any other motive for what he's done since he became president. Don't forget that he wants to be the president of the new world order. None of the words in my last sentence even deserve to be capitalized.
I was depressed for a good month after the Comrade won the election. Everything I feared that my moronic, liberal associates told me were crazy concepts are now coming to light. The topping came today when Hugo Chavez called him Comrade Obama and warned Fidel that Obama will end up left of Chavez and Castro. Yet this means nothing to the adoring masses. Doomed is how I feel. Not how I act, though.

Obama's absolutely joyous smile made me want to vomit. He's all over the muslims like a kid at Christmas, yet he didn't visit our friends in Israel. What 's going to happen if Obama succeeds in appeasing our enemies and driving our friends away??

GM is going into a whole new field. supplying the government with cars. not only cars, but really expensive cars that are "green", (notce i didn't say "good for the enviroment"? because most "green" things are NOT good for the enviroment). they'll be green, so they'll say "if w can do it … you have to do it too" … while ofcourse … we pay for overpriced government cars.
so you got federal agency cars for FBI,CIA, all the acronyms will get em.
then you got the state deals that the fed will strong arm using their sales tax relationship to the states. those are cop cars on contract … maybe they'll start an "emergency division" and make ambulances/fire trucks, etc.
lastly we'll have the welfare car, where you drive your POS car till it dies to get to work and pay taxes while octomom and the other BUMS (you know what, i'm ok calling wellfare people bums now. the 80s are coming back) ride around in a better car than you can afford.

A chunk of General Motors that supplies our military to a communist nation, great idea…. I wonder what piece of a military manufacturer or technology will be going next? The Hum-V is made by a different company, GM has nothing to do with the military version. THANK GOD!

That's what happens when you put a 31 year old politial junkie and 'almost graduate' from Yale in charge of one of the world's largest companies….who has proabably never seen the inside of an auto manufacturing plant, or had any business experience, and wouldn't know the difference between a lug nut and a castle nut. These people in the Obama administration make the boys from Arkansas during the Clinton presidency look like rocket scientists….and like I said in a post here three weeks ago… America will someday be conquered without a shot being fired if we continue down this path.

The only civilian Hummer that was decent was the extremely unaffordable H1 Alpha which they stopped making in 2006. GM and Ford have a bad habbit of having their internal brands competing with each other for market share. Example – GMC vehicles were largely copies of Chevy as was Mercury of Ford. They should be more worried about Toyota and Honda. Hummer and Jeep brands both have crappy powertrains. Some reasons for this are government regulations making them spend R&D dollars in places where competitors did not have to like having to reinvent the wheel for small turbo diesels because of emissions standards. As for China owning Hummer, with the gas guzzler tax on top of the coming high gas prices, extremely few would ever buy them regardless. Unless China pushes a fuel efficient H4 to compete with Jeep Wrangler, they have nothing but a lemon as far as our markets go. If Fiat messes too much with the Wrangler, no one will buy those either because Wrangler owners are a very loyal fan base of that vehicle as is. China subsidizes fuel to their people so it's not like the Chinese government will want a ton of Hummers on their roads either.
Anybody crying with me? When your own government discourages and gives up on American ingenuity … it's a very, very sad day in America. We the people could have pulled this one out of the fire if we had a government who supported us, had faith in us and incentivized an American-made turn-around. How very, very sad.

We have a government that supports us. That is the problem. It literally supports us. This guy Obama is an intellectual who believes in the philosophy of the people serving the state, not the state serving the people. His incentive is in having the people fail on their own and in need of the government to succeed. This would prove his philosophy correct. The last thing he wants is successful independent companies existing without government oversight or control. That is the thing we are all crying over. The death of the Republic.
Obama is doing such a good job of managing companies. Now the Hummer will be the only part of GM that will make profits. Of course, there will be absolutely no American labor involved, thanks to Obama. He sure is protecting his Union jobs at taxpayers expense. General Motors has a small chance of becoming profitable, as long as Obama keeps throwing tax funds at it! Obama hasn't any Idea what he is doing!

If Hummers become profitable, it will show the government needs to stop running the car companies.
Obama will either stop them from being sold here(protecting his UAW donors) or the Obama Tax that he will impose upon them, noone will be able to afford them. Either way, Obama will still be a failure running GM or as it should now be called, OM(Obama Motors).

Also, the Hummer is going to be replaced, there are many bids in for it's replacement. The current Hummer we use is way beyond it's designed capability

I read last year that government jobs had for the first time out numbered manufacturing jobs. That was my first real indicator that we were in big trouble. The big drop came shortly there after.
NO! The military "Hummer" is actually the HUMV, made by AMG (I think), someone please vertify. The Hummers made by Government Motors is just a body looking like a Hum v on a surbanan(sp) modified frame.

Humvees are built by American General Motors, not General Motors. AMG & GM had a joint agreement for the H1's & H2's. Old Marine is right.

Look, we have to be the dumbest country in the world and this is the icing on the cake. Our military uses this vehicle and we are going to give it to China who makes the shodiest mechandice in the world. Now we expect our military to fight using a made in America owned by the Chinese vehicle. I give up and can't believe that this keeps happening. There is an investigation ongoing that may very well link GE with Iran and it involves IED's . Once the truth is out , Immelt should be placed in front of a firing squad and shot for treason .
If you read the article you will notice that just the commercial Hummers were sold to China. I believe in Capitalism just like a religion. I believe you must have creative destruction in order to have innovation. Let's face it, GM made some POS cars. That is why they are in the problem they find themselves in. If you truly love Capitalism you cannot pick and choose who your buyer is going to be. I would prefer for it to be kept in the US, but if the Chinese business was the highest bidder then that is the way it is.
I may say it now but I am not buying one of the gov't pieces of sh___! They can take their green cars and cram it. I wonder how much they will charge for a battery for one of these cars when the first one goes bad or how much will it cost to charge your car up at a station or however these stupid cars are going to be made. it's amazing obvouiosly hummer can be sold but must be sold at a smaller volume for a profit. Corporate Giants need to adjust fire and figure out a way to produce the amount that the market needs

However, what I said must have scared the admins here and again they do not want my post to be seen although I made no threats and posted no foul language so much for the first admendment, cowards!

It took me a long time searching before I found one of the ones I posted just a few minutes before. But rest assured it was there. If you are trying to see if anyone replied to you, it gets e-mailed to you anyway.
There's no rhyme or reason for the way the admins take away posts….they're kind of like Obama; they do whatever they want and no one can stop them.
This headline is misleading. I live in the area of Northern Indiana where AM General is located. That is where they make the military Hummer and the H2 civilian hummer. The H3 is made elsewhere.
This sale only includes the new plant where the H2 is made. They did not buy the H1 plant where the military one is made nor where they allowed to tour it.
Could someone tell me what we are going to do with these little wind up toy cars we are going to have here? My husband is 6ft 6in tall. How is he going to be able to fit in these crap cars that are coming our way? I guess he will have to fold himself up like a suitcase right? I dont care for the hummers but I sure hope they dont stop making pick-ups for my hubby. As long as Ford does not get into bed with the Admin it should be ok unless they put govt restrictions on them as well for design and such. With the Cafe standards I wonder if they will be able to get trucks to fall within the mileage standards. Who knows??
I saw a solution to your problem in the movie Police Academy. You just need to remove the front seat of the car and have him drive in the back like HighTower did.

One, runout and buy a new pickup now and then keep it for as long a possible.
or
Two, shop for a Toyota Tundra pickup. I'm not sure of the quality, but they are full sized and are made in the US.
As for us, we will never buy a GM or Chrysler product again. (We currently have one of each and will keep them as long as we can. When they wear out, we'll buy a Ford or a made-in-the Southern US foreign product. We will not support ANY government/union owned or controlled auto/truck from GM or Chrysler again.)
A good point. Another thing to consider is that these cars will be deathtraps. Have you seen some of these bubble cars appearing on the road? You might as well drive around on a motorcycle. There is going to be a HUGE increase in traffic deaths when people are forced to buy these toy cars because gas is seven or eight dollars a gallon because of an absurd energy policy.

I can see how this is going to work. GM was "crap" when it was American. Now that the Chinese have taken over the Hummer section of it we will soon see it back in the U.S. as a "quality" import!
We're about to see what happens when a low-quality product (as GM vehicles are) is made even worse… Chinese-made products are poorly made, but they justify that by selling those products at a price that reflects their poor quality. Will the new Hummers be sold at Harbor Freight? Maybe a "buy one, get one free" sale could boost their sales figures?
I'm hearing questions about whether or not the China built Hummer will be allowed to be imported into the States. Wouldn't that be the ultimate snub of China by the idiots in the Obama Administration!
Don't you all realize that Obama will be putting a big tax on gas, so keeping Hummers in this country is really dumb. Let some Chinese company get their butts kicked in the hummer market. They have never been profitable. Obama is going make sure we buy little greenie cars, because no one will be able to afford the fuel. If you think chinese toys are bad, wait till you drive a Chinese Hummer. I say good riddance. We have to get used to our little cars, hehe.
No, we don't have to get used to little cars, we just have to keep the cars we have for as long as possible. The antique and classic auto parts businesses are booming, and just about anything is available for almost any car you can name. I have a stable full of big, gas guzzling, American cars that were made before the government started sticking their noses in the automakers' business. It's easier to get parts for them now than it was just a few years ago. I also have an '89 Mercury Tracer that gets 45 MPG! I use it as my daily driver, and I'll keep it until the wheels fall off. When that happens, I'll just "glue them back on", and keep on keeping on!
Lets just hope they don't want to stick a carbon footprint monitor on our "gas burners" and tax us for being over the minimum? If we are over and try to get a license plate or sticker, they'll want us to pay the "carbon tax" for the "extra" carbon our vehicle emits. B.O. is crafty and bold enough to sneak it into a bill that nobody will get to read and his Demos in crime will gladly pass it and he will sign it. Our new green vehicles will resemble over sized kids toys, plastic and all. Something to look forward to, isn't it?

Okay…don't you realize that any TAX doesn't matter to a company or country. The tax is always passed down, through, or around to the consumer. So any butt being kicked by the big tax on gas will simply slam the consumer that wants the vehicle. Since China is communistic and the company owns zero and the government just allows them the privledge of being independent in name only….China won't care about paying the tax and then making the consumer pay them back…after all..we owe them so much…they can afford to give us back a few billion in gas taxes. China will just subsidize the Hummer and make it cost like $15,000 so everyone buys them and then laugh as we pay Obama (the stupidest President in history) his gas tax.
We need to let people make choices in whether or not they are willing to buy a Hummer and pay for the taxes. The government has no business making this decision for us. Maybe if we start using our own resources and drill for our own oil, we wouldn't have a fuel problem and be hostages to the middle eastern countries.
Obama wants us all sandwiched into little sardine can-styled vehicles in order to "save the planet" and reduce the level of greenhouse gases being discharged into our atmosphere whereas other Nations, including communist (Isn't that rich?) China want big, comfy cars like the Hummer and don't give a fig about "saving the planet" or how much greenhouse gases they discharge. Now does his Majesty believe the atmosphere over the USA stays over the USA or does his Majesty believe his moronic followers think so?

Thanks for the info, To me there are 2 things, aircraft and targets. I'm more of an aircraft mech and the Hum V wasn't in use when I was in, and no we didn't ride horses. I admitt I'm only vaguely familar it. With the way vehicles are made, and the electronics on it, to me, its easier to work on aircraft.

thats no problem. i served 1999-2003 in 1st CAV 1/8 cav heavy armor battilion. i worked on everything between the 3/4 ton pickups and blazers to the 10 ton hemtt wrecker. i was liscenced for all of them and a few tracked vehicles. got to drive a m1a2 abrams around the motorpool once. my m984-e1 hemtt wrecker had a 144,000 lb towing capicity and its powered by a GM 550 hp detroit desiel engine
and 8 wheel drive
