atphilp, you make very good points! I agree with you 100%

    MARRIAGE IS A RELIGIOUS ISSUE!!!!

So what? I'm supposed to think that Cheney is Evil when he says we should waterboard and yet he somehow becomes a voice of reason when he supports gay marriage? I'm a little smarter than that. It is HIS opinion, not that of the American citizens. I don't care if civil unions are allowed, just don't change the meaning of words. If we are going to change words, I would like to be part of the new minority…male lesbians!

This is my own post, but a little bit in reference to the post that asked what if religion was taken out of the picture? I got banned from a liberal website for the following observation: Why is it that gays and homosexuals get a free pass in our society? Look at other sexual preferences that deviate from the norm. Pedophilia, beastiality, rapists, necrophilia, etc. My main point, is anyone who fantasizes, or acts out in any of those behaviors is considered mentally ill. There's something wrong with someone who is sexually attracted to children, animals, corpses, or wants to engage in rape or incest. So how is it that homosexuality has been able to extricate itself from being classified in the same group as other deviant behaviors? Religion has nothing to do with it. The fact stands that homosexuality is a deviation from normal biological behavior just as much as beastiality or necrophilia is.

If we're going to give gay marriage rights out, then what about polygamists? Shouldn't they be given the right to marriage as well? What about consenting incest relationships? Once gays win this fight, it's a slippery, fast slope to the gutter.

Ok, don't hammer me too hard, but to fuel the discussion a bit more how about this??

Take religion out of the discussion and how would that change the arguments??
