So if I understand the general consensus here, Islam is a religion of hate and violence and thats all there is to it. Strange. The US has been attacked 5 or 6 times (only twice on our soil) by a total number of maybe 50 to 100 terrorists, and the Muslim population is over 1 billion. I'm no mathmatician, but I dont think that would even equal .00001 percent of the Muslim population that has attacked us. Lets not intentionally leave out the fact that our nation has been attacked on its soil by terrorists a total number of 3 times, and one of those occasions was from a nutty white man named McVeigh. That means a third of our nations terrorist attacks on our own soil were committed by US extremists and not Muslim extremists. I know, I know, give me the thumbs down for using logic here! I'm sorry, but I just cant figure out how a hundred or even thousands of people can speak for a population of 1 billion.

Someone correct me if I have this messed up but I distinctly remember right after 9/11 I believe it was Rudy Giuliani who was giving a tour of ground zero to these Saudi princes. During the tour they make some very hurtful and shocking remarks about America. Then towards the end they try to give Rudi a check for a large amount of money…..he handed the check back. Good for him. Flash forward to today…..
Obama would give the tour himself and would be bowing and scraping the whole time. He would have taken the check too. With that report from the govt about home grown terrorists it seems that I (a 51 year old heart patient) am who the govt needs to watch and protect the country from. up is down, black is white, and common sense is dead.

This makes a good argument for conscripton, particularly for young men and women ages 18-20 for all who are not going to college. This would keep them off the streets and out of jails and set them on the right path, with self discipline and respect. If they end up in jail, keep them all in solitary confinement and make sure the menu contains lots of pork. Let's face it, jails are mostly full of people who follow rather than lead.
Islam, I am sorry to report is NOT a peaceful religion. Mohammed himself was a warrior, and justified his actions through his self founded religion. I couldn't agree more. Why does it offend a Muslim to see a Christmas Tree in the Mall? It doesn't offend Christians to see Muslims dressed up like their in Iraq walking through the stores. I think alot of it has to do with what our kids are being taught in school. You know if your a Christian then just shut up, but muslims, gays, and satanist have special rights that you need to be mindfull of by not displaying your beliefs. They do teach that in public schools, I just removed the red tape that covers up and makes it look ok.

Since the beginning of America, people from all over the world came here looking for a better and more prosperous life. They came for freedom of religion, freedom to develop their skills, whether building or farming, or whatever. Many contributed in a positive way to our great nation's growth. It was ok for them to practice their faith and customs, and most respected those they found here. That was the deal! What has happened? Now they come here to practice their faith and customs, while living off the great benefits of American capitalism (and some cases, so cia lism) and it is not enough. The libs and the ACLU got involved, and they now demand special rights! This is America! Accept the Christians and the Jews! Accept the gun owners! Accept the military that is willing to fight and die for the freedom you came here to enjoy!

I'm not always PC, but i'm trying to discipline myself to be more diligent in digging thru the details and finding where our words and actions can hit the mark directly, not by inference.

The middle east has been at war with each other and / or everyone who disagrees with them since the beginning of mankind (yes I said "MAN" kind, please complain about it). While I know that there are good muslims, their whole culture is founded mostly in war, deceit, oppression, and intolerance. There are exceptions to this rule, but far more instances that fit into the stereotype than not.
As a culture they are different that America and Europe and Asia. We should have never expected to change the way they live and as long as we keep trying to to that the radicals over there and here will consider us enemies.
To be fair, mankind has pretty much based it's existence on war, deceit, oppression and intolerance, but I still like our brand of life over theirs.
I am their enemie! So in that aspect their right, if there is a muslim that will say Israel has a right with their respect to be a nation, than that muslim isnot my enemie, the rest I would be happy to send to Allah!
The attacks on our nation come from a very specific group of people. Radical Muslim extremists. How many more times do we need to be attacked by these individuals to take them very seriously? Or is it that the severity of the attack must increase? Or is it that our elected officials won't take this seriously until it hits REALLY close to home? And finally, WHERE are the moderate, peace-loving Muslims that are standing up against these terrorists? I don't see them in the media. Why?

The attacks aren't from a specific nation, nor are they a group of people trying to radically change the gov't system in this nation such as communists or something. So this is one voter who's REALLY REALLY glad that the previous President thought things through and made sure we have a massive presence in the Mid-East. If things get out of hand over there, we'll be able to assist Israel whether the O-Team wants to or not.

Was anyone able to listen to all of Geraldo's remarks on Fox this morning? I may be mistaken but I think he actually suggested that this NY extremists may have been tricked into plotting terrorism. More "homegrown" terrorists! And directly from prison. I always thought one loses all rights when convicted of a felony. How is it that so many black prisoners are converted to Islam in prison? It is a perfect breeding ground who already hate society for putting them in there, and of course they'd love to get out and wreak havoc! Seems to me, all activity in prison should be monitored, and terrorist talk should be abated by the prison system. Put mics and videos in each cell and area. Homeland Security needs to monitor the activity of all this. How many more are preparing to kill Americans when they get out?

I don't hate muslims. If they would leave me alone and practice their religion in peace, great. But, there are about 1 billion muslims in the world. It's estimated that 10-15% of them support Jihad. I was watching Band of Brothers last night, episode… "why we fight". For those of you who are not familiar with the series, it's the when the allies discovered the death camps in Germany. While we cannot blame the Muslim world for what happened, the scene from the protests in NYC last year still rings in my head. I remember a palistian woman screaming "go find an oven" to a group of jewish protestors. It turns my gutts inside out to see that kind of hatred and raceism, and to watch CNN and other news organizations show this trash, and still stand on the side of the terrorists??? What happened in Germany over 60 years ago was completely un-human. And yet given the chance I would be willing to bet that many of the nations of Islam would be happy to continue the work of the Nazis. If that isn't an answer to "why we fight", I don't know what is. There are good Muslims since I have met many good Muslims on my one trip to Israel. However, the evil Muslims seem to have the world's best press at claiming they do no harm. Even the history channel seems to say that Muslims were the proper owners of Jerusalem, even though the Muslim religion was not even invented till about 600 AD when Mohammed lived. And we all know darn well that Jews lived in Jerusalem before that, and soon after that Christians. In every culture, there are good people and bad people. In Jerusalem, some stores are marked with the stations of the cross – a Christian thing. And in which section of Jerusalem? The Muslim section. . In Bethlehem the Muslims had a sign up welcoming the pope who was coming there shortly. In a Muslim shop in Bethlehem they sold Christian artifacts, and were quite nice to the tourists. The Muslim country of Jordan is mostly friendly and some Israeli plants like Motorola use subsidiaries in Jordan to help build their stuff. The royal family of Saudi Arabia seems as concerned about terrorists as we are and have been good allies. As in many cultures, the evil people in that culture get on TV. The good people, we never hear about – unless you travel it seems.

I agree on BO, I do need to research and discover if we are providing separate and non-monitored places for their extremist religious beliefs too develop and prosper. My instincts would say, we are paying for the prayer rugs, in order not to discriminate or profile a Muslim or their religious belief..
Well, they can say that they will be isolated, but that would be a lie. I am sure that would violate someones rights somewhere. They will not be taken out of action as some have said. They will be placed on a pedestal and worshipped by those inside. Criminals love criminals that managed to kill more than they did. It's a mass murder merit badge and if these bad men are mixed in with the population, every radical muslim getting out will want to earn one.
If these gitmo detainees are put with the general population, they won't survive a week. So no need to worry about converting some to Islam.
And this has been happening for some time—jail as a place of recruitment for Islamists. My husband has a black friend who was recruited and converted to Islam while in a jail in South Vietnam for a minor, trumped up charge. He remains a Muslim today, although he always sends us a Christmas Card.

If I watched 24, I would agree with you. I have a better solution for Obama regarding GITMO. If these guys are guilty of crimes against the United States, put them in front of a firing line, and remove the threat. Sure, we can have it done by January Mr BHO, but you won't like the results.
