You NEVER deal a virus out of the picture. Outside of roaches, they are the most adaptable organisms in the world.
It's most likely that Bloomberg didn't wash his hands after he wiped his face.
Thank you for posting this information. The problem with the MSM is that they hardly ever report the fact that the fatalities in the US related to H1N1 are due more to complications from other risk factors (such as respiratory or cardiac diseases or other chronic conditions that weaken the body and immune system). Of course, they cannot sustain a panic if people are aware of the fact that more traditional strains of the influenza virus claim just as many fatalities (if not more) for the same reasons.
Panic is always a great tool of progressive legislators to continue the usurpation of individual liberties. Every war or nationwide panic leads to fewer rights…I doubt this will be any different.
"There's real potential for harm to vulnerable groups like immigrants," said Jay Battacharya, a professor of medicine at Stanford University. "It doesn't reduce the spread of the disease."
Immigrant community leaders hope to capitalize on President Obama's affirmation this week that he supports overhauling the country's immigration policies. At a news conference Wednesday, his 100th day in office, Obama told reporters, "I see the process moving this first year."
With Democrats controlling both houses of Congress, pro-immigrant groups seem to have their best shot in years at gaining passage of comprehensive immigration legislation. They are also seeking an end to immigration raids.

Please read the article below (that is a snippet of the entire article from SFC) and then go to the website located beneath it. Click on a couple of the videos. I think you will find it fascinating as did I. Due to it's length, the message has been posted in 2 parts. Hagd.
May Day rallies planned around Bay Area
Tyche Hendricks, Chronicle Staff Writer
Friday, May 1, 2009
Immigrant rights advocates planning marches around the Bay Area and across the country today are optimistic that they have support in Washington, D.C., for immigration reform, but the fact that the rallies take place during a week of panic over Mexico's swine flu outbreak is further complicating a complex issue. Groups that favor a crackdown on illegal immigration have seized on the flu epidemic to call for closing the border with Mexico. The World Health Organization recommends not closing borders, and medical experts say overblown fear can lead to discrimination against Mexican immigrants and Mexican Americans.
When there is no competittion and no incentive to compete the human spirit to suceed in advancement is curtailed. This increases prices on current treatments and medicines.
Two more deaths on Friday…a 40 year old and a 34 year old. People, I hope you are paying attention to this!
NancyNurse, I have a question for you. We have heard conflicting stories that hand sanitizers should be used and others are saying that bleach water is the best defense, although the flu has not hit my particular county here in Texas people are trying to be cautious and carry a wet bleach water cloth with them, will hand sanitizer suffice or is bleach/water the best idea?
Handsanitizersjust remove surface soil and are mildly disinfecting. They are made up of a gel compound and simple rubbingalcoholand can be used in a pinch. Follow direction on the bottle. Bleach and water kills bacteria and some viruses, but be careful using bleach on skin. It can kill some of your skin, too, if in the wrong concentration. Bleach water can be used on hard surfaces (food preparation areas), door knobs, toilet seats, etc. Just plain water on your skin can flush off some viral material, but also (if you have your hands immersed in water too much) can make your skin break down. I have some bleach, sanitzing gel, soap pumps and lysol spray/wipes available. Try to avoid touching or breathing in around any kind of body secretions (mucous, used tissues, paper towels, urine/fecal material on toilets, etc). That is just common sense. Washing with a mild bleach solution around bathroom, kitchen and phone handles, push buttons, door and facility handles, etc. is the best thing to do for cleaning surfaces. But this bug is probably being spread by inhaling viral material in the air. I'd avoid close contact with folks who might be ill, crowded elevators, auditoriums, large groups of people. If you are exposed to someone with the virus and must be around them, wear gloves and an N-95 Hepa mask. Avoid touching your nose, eyes or mouth with your hands as much as possible. People in Mexico and along the border/in close contact with those who've been around people with swine flu (not just Mexicans now) who get ill owe it to others to stay at home until they are no longer ill.
How many people died of cancer on Thursday Nancy?
How many died of cancer on Friday?
No idea. Why do you ask?
But not for long.
ATTENTION; This just came over the newswire! The latest resistant strain of the swine flu has just been recognized, and the scientists are going to name it the OBAMA flu! Evidently it only attacks the taxpayers that still have money that hasn't been spent yet!
DetestObama, Absolutely hysterical!!!!!….But just may be true!!!! Thumbs up x 100!!!!!
ATTENTION: This is an update to the new strain of flu:
Caution: If you see anyone in a public place that is spending money, please leave Immediately and install a dust mask over your face. Then call the police to find out if he is a taxpayer. Another excellent way to tell if he is a taxpayer, check to see if his eyes are bloodshot red. That only means that he has been crying because he is paying more taxes after Obama took office. He may look very depressed. Caution, do not approach him alone, he may be very dangerous!
did any body hear about the scientist from canada who was arrested because he had the ebola virus and was transporting into the us ! he said he stole it from the lab he worked at in canada and was taking it to bethesda md . some defense dept lab ? he was a native african from the ivory coast. the story was in the canada free press ! i saw it on savage nation website !! kinda scarey worse then a flu virus.
I have to locate that article. Ebola is the worse disease known to man, turns your internals organs to gel, you rarely survive. The book, The Hot Zone, I think if I remember correctly, describes the horror of this disease. Do you remember when this occured?
Ok I located it at thespec.com, Ebola Virus stolen from Lab, submitted by the Canadian Press. The ex-employee was stopped on the North Dakota border with multiple vials. The report says that the vials contained cells of the virus which are not harmful to humans. I don' know about anyone else but this is scary. When they say it's not harmful it probably is. Anything Ebola sends shivers up my spine, you can look this horrible disease up online, it shouldn't be anywhere it can be stolen for the use of others.
Wonder if the flu is flu that is usual in the areas and being hyped by the Big O and the Drive By Media. What is he wanting to divert attention to or from? Distraction? Ask Rhom Emmanuel…..
God bless. I don't work in the industry, but I am a Geologist as well as a Chemist, I've met and discused the exploration and drilling for oil with a lot of professionals and know the money that is needed just to bring in a well. The American people will not listen to the facts, they listen to the propaganda, not the truth.
OldMarine, I am a Petroleum landman (woman in my case) and Geologists are our Knights in shining armour. I fear that the people have allowed the propaganda to swollow them whole. You are correct, It costs millions per well just for the equipment, not accounting for the Landman, the leases, the refining, the roughnecks, the Geologists, the pipeline, the right-of-way costs, the transporting, the dry wells, the costs are exhorbant. Right now we are fighting Cap and Trade the costs alone are remarkable, add to that the removal of all tanagable drilling costs from the Bush tax cuts and we're looking at serious increases passed onto the consumer. A small jar of vaseline will cost six bucks, anything made from oil by-products will skyrocket. Obama wants our industry and he wants it bad.
I have come to realize, at least in my opinion that the American people have been dumbed down, lost the common sense to pour P*** out ofa boot, with the instructions on the heeland just plain lazy. Iknow that this is ageneral statement, and it may offend some people, but frankly I don't care, If the shoe fits wear it. I'm old enough to remember when key punch was the in computer thing, I remember when the internet was a government and academic means of communication (Thanks to Al Bore). I remember when I was in college, the science pprofessorsstressed the value of \”paper chasing\”, as one professor told me, \”Being a chemist is75% of knowing where to find the information and 25% of knowing how to use it.\” Today we have an internet that is available to just about everyone, the information is available to anyone, so why don't people take the time to research and learn about something, laziness. The \”global warming\” or whatever newspeak is for it is prime example, First off, nobody has looked at the qualifications of the leading spokesman, Al Bore, he got a \”D\” in science and is a politician, makes general statement, \”The science is settled\”, and people buy it, they don't use the internet to go and look to see if it is settled. Laziness. But they go out to see a U-tube of a cat flushing a toilet. Dumb. The EPA says the CO2 is a dangerous gas, yet just about every living thing gives off CO2, and its dangerous, its plant food. Yet people believe it. Dumb and laziness. The most \”dangerous\” greenhouse gas is water vapor, yet they believe that hydrogen fuel cells are great, the exhaust is water vapor. They don't realize that until we have a true alternative to oil and coal, We can not just chance our way of life on a dime, We need coal and oil, no matter what BH0 or the rest of the policians say. I could go on, but why, people won't listen, they are too busy playing games, watching U tube or in general, getting fatter, dumber and in their opinion happier.
P.S. I may expand this on my blog, if anybody would be interested.
Here is part of an email I recently sent to a friend, I think it's appropriate here;
….that the only real answer is to Drill, explore, and drill more.
The reason is;
The world uses about 1 cubic mile of oil per year (1CMO)
To replace this energy would require
4 Three Gorges Dams per year for 50 years assuming 18Gigawatts per dam….or
52 Nuclear power plants per year for 50 years assuming 1.1Gwatts each like Diablo Canyon California….or
104 Coal fired power stations per year for 50 years each generating 500Mega watts…..or
32,850 Wind turbines per year for 50 years each with a blade span of 110 yards each generating 1.65 Mega watts…or
91,250,000 Solar panels per year for 50 years if each panel can generate 2.1 kilowatts
That’s only the energy budget, oil is far more useful than just that, at least 20,000 derivatives come from oil, and all modern life depends on it.
The source of this information is the IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers) and is backed by research from SRI Menlo Park.
Not to forget aircraft, sorry people they can't fly without oil, just ask Al Bore, BH0 and Queen Bee.
Excellent, and to add to this is the fact that those wind turbines are usually on leased surface areas where farmland once stood, so here in Texas less cotton, peanuts and wheat is planted because the turbines are now on that property. The costs is increased food and cotton products. And other states that are utilizing solar panels there are also risks to the land. We have untapped reserves, and the "green people" who fight to keep drilling out are paid by the government. Drilling is clean, the exception being the salt water used to clear the natural gas pipes and they are working on multiple alternatives to clean the water and shoot it back into the ground as natural as it was. The costs of course all forwarded to the consumer. Oil and gas right now is the cheaper alternative, that is until the Bush tax cuts stop and Cap and Trade takes hold, then we're in trouble.
OldMarine, this reply is for you, I noticed that further down this stream you sent a fairly large posting about people getting dumbed down, and lazy, and happy. you're totally correct. The Post Reply panel is grayed out, which is why I'm poeting this higher up the stream. Have checked your other blog, which you mentioned, it doesn't seem to be up yet. I've noticed in several of your postings you refer to aircraft issues. I expect you my be interested in these 2 blogs(maybe you already know them)
aviationweek.com/ares and blog.usni.org let me know if you get this post cheers
Considering I spent 14 yrs + in Aviation, Thank you I had the links a few moons ago, but lost them and really never got back to get them. Thankyou
I said it before and I'll say it again. Our friends in big gov have used this same tactic before. With the economy they said, "it looks like the worst may be over", even while we are clearly right in the middle of things. With the flu, they are saying, "it turned out to be no problem, were gonna stop with the updates." I think later this year you may see that the flu is still hanging on. What did Rahm say? You never want to waste an emergency? Well, it would be easy to get people to sign up for health care in droves if they all needed treatment wouldn't it. Sorry be so far on the ledge, but these people don't surprise me anymore.
Prepared1 has it probably right….. Rahm was right….. "Never let a crisis go unworked"
Found some great information. This was as of Thursday May 14 2009
The World Health Organization (WHO) is reporting the following world situation for Novel H1N1 Flu and the CDC for the U.S.:
Worldwide 7443 cases (1372 more than 5/13)
United States 4298 confirmed and probable cases (946 more than 5/13)
3 deaths
46 states (and Washington DC) are now reporting confirmed cases
For more information on U.S. cases see: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/
The large increase for today is due to the addition of probable cases to the U.S. count.
Mexico 2446 confirmed cases 60 deaths
Canada 389 confirmed cases 1 death
Costa Rica 8 confirmed cases 1 death
WHO has posted that 33 countries have now reported cases of novel A H1N1 influenza. We are only reporting on those that have reported deaths. For more information on the countries, see http://www.who.int.
CDC Reports:
CDC is now reporting aggregate numbers for confirmed and probable cases.
The three deaths that have occurred in the U.S. have all had underlying risk factors.
Nationwide, the level of influenza-like illness is higher than expected for this time of year.
While seasonal influenza is still circulating, it appears that novel A H1N1 now accounts for about half of influenza-like illness in the U.S.
CDC has determined that “the benefits of treatment or chemoprophylaxis with zanamivir or oseltamivir likely outweigh the theoretical risks of antiviral use.”
Therefore, CDC recommends that if a clinician suspects that a pregnant woman is infected with this virus, that she receive antiviral treatment without confirmation testing.
CDC’s routine influenza surveillance systems are now detecting novel influenza A (H1N1) as detailed in the weekly FluView report.
Alert phase:
The WHO alert phase remains at level 5.
I read the article and kept seeing "flu like" symptoms. Nothing confirming or denying it is the "swine" flu. I also noticed the lack of any information of other conditions that may have been a factor in the person being in the hospital. If people would bother to look instead of instantly "panicing" you will see, that in most cases the flu was a secondary cause of any deaths, but that would not be headlines. Who would read a story of "Person dies of bad cold and also had the swine flu". People are saying wait until this fall, or the normal "flu season", gee, let's all worry what will happen 6-8 months from now, in the the mean time, BH0 and congress are working to destroy our country, now. I am not a doctor (& don't play one on T.V.), but I do know this, the human body can develope a resistance to most germ, thus isn't it possible that by the time the "season" comes around, it may not be as bad as the doom and gloom people want us to think. Remember the bird flu…we all are going to die!
I don't think anyone is saying don't do anything until FALL, there simply is not a lot we CAN do until FALL except stay home as much as possible. And swine flu is not a germ, it is a virus and easily mutates—so what we are seeing get passed around this year might look completely different RNA/DNA-wise in 18 months. And although many of these folks had some other conditions that contributed to their deaths, how many of us don't? Diabetes, heart disease, asthma, ARDS, arthritis, cancer. Many of us have battled at least one of these conditions by the time we are 50. Again, you must look at the pattern and compare apples to apples. Look at the flu deaths for this week in 2008 and compare with 2009. If the number is >5%, we have a problem. And you cannot develop a resistance to this condition unless you've been exposed and your body reacts and forms antibodies to the virus as it appears in the population today. Our best hope is to stay informed, keep our bodies working as well as possible with rest, good nutrition, etc. and other chronic conditions under good control, and then consider getting a flu vaccine for this specific virus once it is made available and guidelines are published. Lots of people on this blog have put their heads in the sand or pooh-pooh the whole idea that this is something to reckon with. Others are so suspicious of Obama that they believe someone invented this flu just to scare everyone into universal health care. I don't know how this flu developed. I simply hope and pray that we can all use good sense.
That's it just keep spreading the fear, although I admit a lot of Americans don't have the common sense to pour P*** out of a boot with instructions on the heel, but some do have sense to know how to maintain decent health. You, I presume by your nic are a nurse, you should that the human body is a remarkable orgainism, it has developed immunities to many many deadly dieases over the 10,000 plus years. Go back in history, why did the black kill so many, yet ours live, by did the spanish flu kill so many, yet others lived, why did polio effect so many, yet not others, and why did some people get affect by T.B and others didn't. These all happened before vaccinations. What was the common theme, some people built an immunity, small pox is another, where did the idea of immunity come from. Look back at the panic, the bird flu caused, where was the multi deaths. The worst diease facing people today is fear, and the newspapers and some so called health experts are spreading the fear.
Frankly, I feel that the reason we are getting hit by so many different \”super\” flus, etc is people are germophoic, the dump drugs into their body at the first sniffle, they are inside in air conditioning and sealed home, most windows don't open, their bodies again don't develope any resistance. The germs change get stronger, thus get drug resistant. Common sense, remeber the Medical profession PRACTICE medicine, when the stop practicing and get it right, I might believe half what they say.
Personnel note, I have not had a flu shot since I left the Corps in '82, and in those 26 yrs, I've had 3 mild cases of the flu where I had to stay home from work.
A simple little computer virus would cause such horror. Think about it. If they could shut down the power grid or parts of it, stores would not be open, gas stations could not pump gas, refrigerated items would only last a few days. You take people's normal lives away and you have rioting in the streets. It would make Katrina and the L.A. riots look like a kindergarten class.
And this virus would not go away with Vicks44D or a glass of orange juice. We could literally be thrown back a hundred years overnight. You would be fine if your Amish. But most of us would have a real hard time dealing with something on that scale.

I was listening to Glenn today on the radio, he was talking about a silent war no one wants to talk about. CyberWar,
I think we should be paying more attention to computer flu then pig flu.
just saying….
It is amazing how the press coverage of the Swine Flu suddenly dried up. It would seem that there are those in the White House more concerned that the economy appear to be recovering than to protect the People.
Cases continue to go under or un-reported because the CDC can't process them quick enough. Local clinics are refusing to run the tests do to cost or lack of ability to get the samples processed by the CDC.
Rather than cover these newsworthy stories the press has simply shut down. Until now. When the death count starts to rise awareness will return to the ranks of the press who would please Obama rather than report.
Has anybody mentioned yet how this flu is passed from one person to another? In all of the coverage that I have seen of it spreading I don't recall seeing that information. I would really like to know.
From what I have read/heard, it is by droplet/respiratory close contact. In other words, a person sneezes and viral material is shed. It sprays our into the air and lands on hard surfaces until someone touches it and brings their hands to their mucous membranes or a cut of something. It can also be inhaled, if one is within about 6 feet. That is pretty standard with the flu. Only a few viruses are spread in other ways—i.e. 'innoculation' by touching a vesicle/unhealed sore, like in small pox/chickenpox/shingles and HIV by direct contact with body secretions.
Could this be why Obama is pushing the new Health Care plan so quickly? A major outbreak in the Fall will justify his means.
No, actually an outbreak would probably DEFEAT his health care plans. He is pushing this because the next congressional elections are in 2010 and he sees health care as the cause of many terrible problems in this country. His rush to fix will be a disaster because the health care industry is too widespread, with too many different kinds of providers and American values are too diverse to develop a plan for one size fits all. He sees a Nationalized Health Care Plan as a means to an end with Government in control (but they already really are). This is about exerting that power and making BIG MEDICINE/BIG PHARM cut salaries and cut claim payments. It will backfire and it only shows how little Democrats really know about health care.
So Big Pharm is under attack as well as us here in the oil and gas industry. This is frightening. Big Pharm beats oil and gas revenues by leaps and bounds. I am curious as to where all the future tax dollars are going to come from to cover all of these costs. People and business will simply shut down and collaspe will occur. I agree health care is too widespread to box into a one size fits all program. Possibly I am just not understanding how this is actually even possible here in the United States, I just do not see it working regardless of the plan chosen.
TXTJ– Big O probably using this flu emergency that has been hyped to move his agenda of fear and intimidation to give him the power he so much loves…
NancyNurse explains this in her excellent posts above, remarkable what he wants to do to the medical industry, the whole thing is so scary and it is real. Everyday something new, everyday more control. The problem is the flu is out and people really are scared. I agree it is a form of intimidation.
This flu is just getting revved up. Stay tuned, folks. Wait till this fall!
NancyNurse, agree with you. A women in AZ, died of the Swine flu she was in her late 40’s. It was just reported yesterday.
For the Dems and progressives, it all comes down to trying to outdo Woodrow Wilson, FDR and LBJ. They have no clue yet how to provide care for millions of people and they don't even realize that employers will have a disincentive to provide this perk (heatlh care insurance for employees) in the future. The only reason big manufacturing offered it to begin with was to lure farmers into their dirty and dangerous factories and stabilize a work force. We don't need that anymore. So my prediction is, it will be stopped.
And we are being filled full of malarky about all this anyway. The gov gripes that too much is going to provide health care out of our GDP….but that isn't really the case. The big expense is Medicare and it expanded way more than LBJ ever thought possible. It was only designed to cover the medical costs of the last two years of a person's life, but has ended up providing care for much longer. Thru Uncle Sam, you get less for more. And they know that people won't stand for that, so the big insurance companies (who are into WALL STREET and Banking) know that and want to put more under their care—hence more $$$ for them. It is all a scam and a politician's magic trick. Vote for me and I will give you more! Bull s88t!
How about "big" computer industry, Microsoft, IBM and Sun make more money then Pharms and "big" oil
You also lose the spirit of competition once you nationalize healthcare. There is no incentive to be the first to come out with a cure for any disease. That is was capitalism, is all about. Competition, to see who can be the best and the first!
So what does the medical industry think of all of this. Are Doctors, surgeons, nurses such as yourself changing priorities? I feel for your industry as well as the American people. This is truely one scary scenario. Will Medicare be re-vamped and our elders suffer for it. Sorry I am asking so many questions but this is one area I know nothing about.
I will tell you that the doctor my wife works for is seriously considering quitting the business if National Health Care is enacted. He says it will not be worth it to keep working. I'd bet he's not the only one who's thinking that way!
Some are not onboard Obama's train. But many are. Some doctor's are very Christian and want to provide care to the poor. But others are sick of the merry-go-round, especially with people who just refuse to pay their bills, no matter what. So many are willing to take cents on the dollar from Uncle Sam rather than get nothing from deadbeats. Nurses are paid by the hour generally, so they just want to see people cared for in an orderly way without money being a part of the mix. But they don't realize that Uncle Sam will not be fair to them…and they will be forced to Unionize. And then who knows what will happen. I got sick of all of it a while back and decided to take a break to care for my husband who has a serious chronic condition. But I maintain my license and my education. What I wonder about will be privately owned hospitals who have invested highly in their health care institutions as missions? Will they be happy with what they will likely get paid to maintain their buildings, staffs, grounds, and records? I bet not!
No wonder Alternative cures and medical books are becoming popular again. If doctors quit maybe they can bring back the "house call" and we can actually have a one on one relationship with our medical doctor again. Or would that be illegal under the new health care plan? I can bet the government hopes that are a lot of people like me, because I am in the dark on this topic, and that means they can pull the wool over my eyes quite easily.
You are an encyclopedia of information. My son's best friend is in medical school and seems confused about what is occuring. We are powerless to guide him as we are ill informed. I think this scenario reminds me of what the auto industry is going through right now. Bail outs and then union support from government. Total control and no one agrees and in the middle the consumer is stuck. I am now more worried about my aging parents than ever before, they carry their own insurance as a supplement, but will they be able to receive the care needed when it comes around?
Care will be tightly controlled through the government. Probably not every elderly person will get everything that is needed. There will be some rationing and shortfalls. The important thing is to keep and maintain ties to providers that are in practice now. And just be realistic. Most of what will get 'rationed' will be expensive procedures and 'maintenance' care for the elderly. People will be herded into groups and categories according to disease group/condition. For the young, there may be some restrictions on maternal health care but I think that will be minimal. Most will just sacrifice having an appointed provider for hospital stays and nursing home care. That is basically already gone anyway. And some providers might do work outside of the government 'net' taking fee for service in cash, etc. But surgeries, tests, complex procedures will be handled by the government. The model that will evolve will be very much like the Veteran's Administration provides now—i.e. take a number and plan on a wait……and perhaps an intern instead of a real doctor, etc. We shall see…….
Oh my gosh, the Veteran's Adminstration has horrible health care, if it is modeled after that then we are all in trouble. I know of an ex-service member who served in Iroaq and he is hobbling around with one leg fixed and awaiting an appointment to fix the other. We and he are at a loss as to why they did not fix both legs at the same time. He has already been waiting for over a year and has all but given up hope and has perfected his hobble as to not damage his hips any further. It is sad to see. NancyNurse I think we are in trouble. Please continue to educate with your knowledge and experience, most of us have no clue as to what we are in for. I appreciate you sharing what you know.
There has been a big push at the VA to show that they can do a good job lately since the scandal at Walter Reed. My husband uses the VA for some care but goes 'outside' the VA for invasive procedures. I'd rather pay out of pocket than have him go to a VA hospital or have surgery through the VA. BUT that is just me. Some vets get good care, they report. As standard as the government likes to make everything, it just isn't that way in the VA. Each one is different, believe it or not. And yes, I believe that combat veterans should have top notch priority care. In fact, if I were in charge, they would be getting 'spa' like treatment with the very best providers available. I was hoping that the VA medical system would be disbanded and given vouchers to use at the provider of their choice when Bush got in, but that didn't happen. And now that we have folks using health care as political leverage, I doubt that would EVER happen! BTW, tell the man who served in Iraq that if his injuries to his legs are service connected, he needs to contact the Disabled American Veterans and file a claim. If he's already done that, contact his state Senator and they will investigate why care is not being given on a priority basis. And believe me, they DO take veterans seriously with those kinds of complaints.
I will tell him for sure. Thank you for the advice. I agree and if there are multiple complaints for VA care, regardless of the postive ones, then in the civilian world at a normal day-to-day hospital those would be investigated. Different standards from I see. This is all very scary and from what I can tell we have to sit back and wait to see what happens. I thank your husband for his service, and now understand why most seek care outside the VA.
Exactly right OldMarine. My son builds, networks and repairs computers and already folks are seeking repairs and upgrades to older electronics than purchase new ones. I am honestly wondering if we might not be heading for some type of collaspe, once the new 2011 tax increases take effect on big business and the Bush tax cuts expire, we are in trouble because companies cannot keep paying employees and major tax increases, people will be laid off in droves, with deflation occuring right now, things are not looking pretty. Auto now, healthcare in a few months, big Pharms with health care reform, Big oil with cap and trade and internet control for the computer industry. Serious mess for sure.
That's Capitalism, thank goodness…
Thank YOU for your kind words and thoughts.
Maybe you'll be put on an extremist list, if you start have "house calls" under nationalized health care. lol
This is only the beginning, that's why I want them to keep pushing the Queen Bee lying probe, it will slow down the collapse. People don't realize how much we depend on oil, not only for fuel, but just about everything. They have yet to show me the new aircraft to fly from coast to coast with one big industrial size rubber band that all the passenagers will have wind it up and then jump in for take off, be careful, the landing can be a real beach.
Oh trust me, I totally understand how much we depend on oil, I work in the oil and gas industry. It amazes me how many people bought into the media drivel about how horrible the oil and gas industry is. When the true fact is that our revenues rank sixth of all industries. SIXTH, not first. When our reserves wear thin, all the capped off wells will be unplugged and tapped, oil and natural gas will skyrocket, mainly because of taxes. And all those folks that complained about Bush being an oil man and giving the oil and gas industry large tax breaks, we'll everyone is about to see that Bush gave those cuts to the people through the oil and gas industry. I don't want to hear a word from anyone about it, anyone that complained is about to get their due. So, how long do you think we have before the dominos start to fall so fast we hit an undeniable crisis of mega proportions?
The shoe will fall much sooner than we believe. Oil IS OUR LIFEBLOOD…. Saudi oil reserves are way over-stated to deter domestic drilling program.. According to the print, Saudi reserves keep on increasing and has been for the last decade or more… It is political. Washington Folks have not gotten it right yet. But, the socialist path that the Big O has gotten us on along with HIS Congress majority is according to their planned agenda… Wake up America…. Offshore, Alaska, and US better have a whole card. It is coming….
What is wrong with the truth?
yea this is really weird that there is no other report on this , i wonder what his intentions were and if hes a muslim !! i mean radical muslim !
ROFLMAO. Kudos Huge to you, my friend!!!!!
OldMarine you have hit the target with your post, exactly correct-most people rely and trust the media, most folks grew up without the computer to double check the answers, research the stories, look up the facts and have been conditioned to accept what they see and read as absolute. The American conditioning is so deep that one liners are the talk of boardrooms for days. It is laziness, it is the broad acceptance of others to tell people what is and what will be, and it needs to stop because it is dangerous. The one thing is this, we rely on oil, natural gas and coal and have for decades taken it for granted, the easiest way to scare people into submission is to tell them you'll take it away. What is your blog address?
Thank you so much for the information. This is quite scary, especially for some of us here in Texas, my husband and I travel across the state almost weekly for our jobs and we are in hotels quite often. I have started hanging the do not disturb sign on the door of our room, avoid the breakfast areas and stay out of restaurants. We are also using the state flu update that gives info on the number of cases per county which is of tremendous help. I had assumed this flu would die down when early Summer hit but it seems to have a mind of its own right now. I was not worried a few weeks ago, but now I am concerned as it seems to be spreading so quickly that its hard to keep up with most days.
Bring your own disposable eating utensils and drink from disposable cups. It someone is coughing a lot near you, get as far away as possible. No need to apologize or stampede, just get up and leave. It sounds like you are doing what you can to use knowledge to pre-arm yourself. Check the CDC website often (they have tips in the margins–read both the tips for lay people and for professionals). If you start to feel ill, get yourself to a good provider with a good track record and check in. They can tell if you have the flu within a few hours/minutes with a simple nasal swab. Get yourself a good thermometer and keep it available in case you start to feel yucky. If you are not running a temp or have no cough, you probably don't have flu. Don't use an oral thermometer within 20 minutes of drinking something cold or smoking a cigarette/drinking or eating something hot. Wash your hands often…use a paper towel to turn on and off sink facets. There you go! You'll probably be fine! Enjoy your summer and the great state of Texas! I love Grapevine, Harper, and Fredricksburg. After watching Beck yesterday, I think I'd love to live in either Texas or Montana!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU-YOU ARE AWESOME. Anyone and everyone on this site would be wise to take your advice. And, allow me to be the first to welcome you to Texas, should you ever decide to move here.
Gunny, you rock. I can't remember the last time I had a flu shot.
Just an old Marine, the germs are afraid of me.
You seemed concerned with the Swine Flu. You were deeply involved in a comment thread that involved Swine Flu. The answer to your question should be obvious to a nurse.
