This is a new day in our culture when a room full of journalists can laugh and cheer comments that (if they actually did their job properly they would discover through investigative reporting) were either out of context or in error. People who actually listen to Rush talking about the administration failing understand the basis for the comment: BHOs policies being so damaging to this country that less people would be hurt if his administration fails than if BHOs policies prevailed. The fact that reporters are so PC drives me crazy. Politicians I understand…their livelihood depends on getting everyone to like them. But journalists? They are supposed to question everything and research to find the truth. Where is their integrity?
I want to thank Wanda for proving what I have been telling my daughters for years , a pretty woman doesn't need make up and in the case of Wanda it damn sure won't hide an ugly one .
When Rush made the comment about the black quarterback, he was fired from ESPN and all the sudden he was being investigated for the drugs Wanda was talking about. And here we have Wanda talking about Rush and nothing is said about it and the president even laughs. This is just down right disgusting!

I agree with you, JansKid, insofar as I refuse to and will not stoop to their level. The other side of that coin is that we cannot sit idle and allow what is happening to our country to continue. My personal experience has led me to believe that those who allow themselves to be beaten down are complicit. We all have the power within ourselves, realized or not, to not be beat. Right now, the liberals are beating us at our own game. They are using the Christian principle (wether they realize it or not) of inclusion to divide us.
We need to see through the smoke screen and stand up for what we believe – consequences be damned. We need to be more like Miss California and less like a lemming. While I do not promote a vicious attack, I do promote standing up for our beliefs, letting our voices be heard, and being the silent majority no more.

For some reason, celebrities think the American People need and want to hear their political beliefs. This group of people live in a fantasy land where everyone of any intelligence agrees with them. They can be as vulgar as they want and it is okay. Each time I hear one of these people spitting their hatred, I drop them. I don't watch their movies or tv shows. If enough people do this, then their power is removed.
I wholeheartedly agree! There is not alot we can individually do…but individually we can all stand against the propaganda being spewed from most media venues. I personally know many people who do not watch network television anymore. This is a small, but very significant way to make an organized statement

As much as I hate to sound crass, I might tune in again if her character were captured and had the skin sanded off her back with a grinder like the dude in season 1? I think it was… In any event, I haven't even seen the show since she joined the cast so I suppose I'll have to look at the tv guide and make sure I don't accidentally leave the tv on while the show plays..

No one is suggesting that she didn't have the 'right' to be tasteless—but it is absolutely important that we respectfully call a spade a spade…in fact, it is imperative that we pay attention to the degradation of discourse in the frankest way possible. You have the 'right' to make choices—but you do not have the 'right' to choose your consequences.
In that way, Miss Prejean's comments are even more telling of her character…despite the consequences–she stood up for what she believed was the right thing to do…and those in opposition to her viewpoint damned themselves by their own behavior–Miss Prejean didn't have to silence the bad guy for the public to know who the bad guy was
Even if she loses her title—who cares—that will only serve to strengthen her convictions…and more importantly, the example she has set for young women is far more important than any title. I thank her for her example–I wish more women with a public mantle would follow suit.
Ms. Sykes needs to apologize to those with kidney failure and make a substantial donation to the National Kidney Foundation or maybe donate a kidney to show how sincerely she feels about insulting everyone who has kidney failure.

I very much believe in freedom of speech. Why do you think I am a committed 9/12 er? That said, there is an unwritten rule of responsibility that comes with it. Hate speech and yelling "fire" in an establishment when there is none are not very acceptable. Sykes and Garafolo are living in their little "bubble" and think we are sheep to believe what they said. I was appalled when I saw Obama on the tape laughing at those two jokes about Rush. Makes me wonder if we can get along when I read double standard in each case. Stand up and not take the broad brush strokes that the left are getting away with. By the way, I didn't like Garafolo stating that something is mentally wrong with those who dissent against Obama, especially conservatives. She said it earlier this year. Mental disease is nothing to kid about.

As long as someone is on the political left they can say anything bad about the opposition they want; it is free speech.
When someone says anything bad about the left they are denigrated and shunned by the reporting outlets that would have otherwise so vehemently stood up for that "freedom of speech". I have no time for such hypocrisy. We are under attack, not from terrorists, not from foreign states, but from our own greed. We must combat this internal enemy on an individual basis or we will all fall short and this country will be nothing more than a shadow of what once made it great.
We must get people in Washington that understand this and are willing to allow freedom and liberty to prevail. We must get people in our own legislatures and state houses that abide by the same precepts. We must allow people the freedom to live life without fear of the government taking their property or their liberties away. This must be done on an individual basis and grow to a collective.
I believe there are many people that have already started down this path. I hope that we can get together and find strength in unity of numbers in our own local areas. I welcome such groups.
I think Rush was smart at not saying anything……at least for now. I think he'll speak when the lefties least expect it. And when he does, look out. I also think one of the best ways of getting under someone's skin, is doing opposite of what they expect. They wanted him to say something so they could spin it for ratings. (What little viewers they have these days).
The bigger issue to me is the fact that O sat there and laughed. I guess the dems have not yet done a focus group on the people in this country that suffer from various kinds of kidney disease. This is a serious disease and people that have to deal with it on a daily basis really do not appreciate hearing some low life wishing kidney failure on another person.
A lot of kidney disease leads to kidney failure which the options then are dialysis or a transplant, all of which is life changing . It just goes to show that there is no class or conscience in this administration, which we all know but know that he has laughed at a joke that is a serious matter to millions of Americans, he needs to be ready for the fallout.
I hope the Republicans learn how to play dirty and at the next couple of elections show that clip with O laughing, people with kidney disease have loved ones and friends who find this sort of sick comedy something to vote against. By the way kidney disease is not a white mans disease it is an equal opportunity disease that affects all people.

Damn I miss watching Archie Bunker and George Jefferson's racial biases as they played out on prime time TV. Those certainly were good times when we could laugh at each others expense. Political correctness is the death nail for for our freedom and we should all be able to tell jokes, irregardless of who they may offend. The problem I have is, it seems that only liberals can tell jokes that are offensive anymore. How would ethnically "offensive" jokes directed at BH0 be received? I don't think people are saying she should have just "shut up" (much like Powell said about Rush) I think it's the way she said it and to the more serious point – The President, who claimed that he didn't want this sort of thing when he became president sat there laughing. Rather than state the obvious about you know who, I would rather point out the class and dignity that Rush Limbaugh is displaying in this matter. While it may not initially appear that way because he simply said "No comment", I'd like to point out that sometimes not saying anything speaks volumes.
Rush has elevated himself above the discourse by not lowering himself into the the fray and commenting on it. How many of us would LOVE to give a nice response to this woman and those of her ilk? I find it amazing that he came out years ago admitted he had developed a problem with pain killers and go help. He was made a target for more than 2 years by his local DA to try to make him a criminal because he recognized a problem and fixed it openly. If we're going to defend one person's right to make jokes, then we need to defend everyone's right to make jokes. David Feherty's article in D Magazine had been overlooked for at least three weeks before Pelosi and her ilk took offense to it, but suddenly (after Mark Davis, local conservative radio personality, filling in for Rush Limbaugh read the joke on the air) it became an unforgivable attack.

I loved Feherty's column. His comments were funny. He didn't authorize killing Pelosi, or support it, just simply explaining how people in general feel of Reid and Pelosi, they are almost worst than Bin Laden. Bin Laden, in a strange way, brought out country together. He is a despicable man who deserves death, but he brought a new sense of patriotism. Reid and Pelosi are dividing America and destroying it. Even before I got to the punch line in Feherty's column, it crossed my mind. Not because of who she is, but because of the damage they have caused this country. I found it somewhat unique that CBS ignored this whole story of name calling and death wishing during what was supposed to be humor on the CBS news of Obama meets the Press I just watched. Gee I was surprised. Not. Probably two things that bug me the most are the name calling and gross disrepect from the left for anyone who even slightly disagrees with them, and the hard time it is to find news that actually is news and tells the whole story without bias. Politically correct now seems to mean a total lack in class and extreme favortism for some select groups who somehow are totally warped and find humor in name calling and wishing death on others. Recall also that the Daily Kos site wished death on Tony Snow, and that a Democrat once joked about shooting Bush. Maybe this is supposed to be funny to the warped few. Perhaps our choices are now being politically correct to this definition, or being a human being with a conscience. I choose the latter.

I agree. Since Rush is a God fearing, freedom loving conservative, he should brush it off and take the moral high ground. It might not get laughs, but it gets my respect, for whatever its worth.
Al Franken was just a bad comedian and a failed radio host not too long ago now he is a the "Senator Select" from Min. (personaly I think Bobcat Goldplate would do a better job). It wouldn't surprise me if Sykes was selected as "Fairness Czar."
Wanda was truly wicked. Her humor(?) not even remotely funny. I am glad that Rush totally ignored her, I think that was classy. If you do not give that kinda ilk any acknowledgment you would be promoting it.. What has become of our country that someone that mean spirited and tasteless could speak in front of Our President. I just do not get it . She might be funny on HBO or another venue but she was well no class.

I have been amazed at how they have twisted what the meanings are for things. I fought for womens rights. My right to think and vote and do based on me. Yet they figured because you were a woman, you HAD to vote for Hillary or you were a traitor. I'm supposed to be thrilled about Pelosi, because she's a woman, and I'm ashamed she's the same gender as me., Just because a person is pro-choice, doesn't mean they are pro-killing babies, it just means it's not my place to tell you what to do with yours…and yet they acted like Palin was some monster for not choosing abortion when she found her baby would have downs syndrom. Where's the freedom of choice there? If it starts to mean what someone else thinks I should do, then I don't have the right , or freedom of choice anymore….and it sure seems that's the direction they are wanting to twist it too. You have the freedom to do what they think and nothing else.
My opinion is that they believe that people that WON'T take care of themselves cant be prevented and should be burden for all, but people that CAN'T take care of themselves should not be a burden, and be prevented if not eliminated. Mothers who choose to do the right thing are vilified by those who wouldn't.

There IS indeed a difference between telling a joke (especially when it is clearly a joke) and willfully hoping that someone developes a chronic, life-altering illness. One is humor, whether told lightheartedly or not, and the other is pure malice. However, I was always instructed by my mother never to wish ill on someone as often it comes back around to you. As for the racism…it's such a tired attack. The liberals have cried it so many times now that I'm starting to wonder if anyone will take them seriously when there truly is a racist attack on someone. Kind of like the boy who cried wolf. Or, there's my new favorite from Glenn's show last Thursday, "Why are you afraid of black people?" Ha! That's a real gem!
