I am still upset with his last trip. I think that we should probably take the 241 terrorist in Gitmo and tie them to the black box in Mecca. Then I would not object to President Obama closing the prison at Gitmo.

This is the same trick the Pallistinians pulled during that short war with Israel a few months ago. They will use the loss of innocent life to try to get sympathy from the media, and continue to cause confusion and ever changing policies. It's time to stop playing the same game. Issue a warning to all civilians, and then move ahead. In war…people die, the good, the bad, and the innocent.

So what else is new? The Taliban are the biggest bunch of cowards the world has ever seen. Using civilian women and children as shields proves this, as does their recruiting mentally handicapped people to be suicide bombers. If it weren't for the PC crowd dictating how America fights the war, we could have done away with this group of chicken-livered cowards years ago. If the Taliban was made up of real men who truly believed in what they claim to stand for, they would put on a uniform so we could identify them among the civilians. Then they would make a formal declaration of war against America through the U.N., then stand and fight when we came to answer that declaration. Instead, they hide among civilians, or borrow into their caves like frightened rabbits.

this tactic has been adopted by numerous militant groups but almost bit them in the ass when imported to Iraq… this is horrible and it makes the "playing field" that much more difficult to deal with. they look at our air power and adopt to human shields, they look at our coordination and adopt to suicide bombings, we walk into a town wearing the American flag and announce we are there to help, the Taliban take pot shots and blend in with the locals to hide. they torture the hell out of prisoners and air it, we splash water on their faces and are condemned for it.
as with Iraq, as the Sunni's (Sons of Iraq) grew increasingly tired of the insurgents using the Iraqi people as shields and targets that the locals eventually turned on the foreign militants…. it has not sunk in with the people of Afghanistan. it has not sunk in with the war in Gaza… these people who look at the militants as heros accept this.
this is just something we have to deal with and adopt to by winning the hearts & minds of "the people" who are being used in this manner so they too can eventually stand up to the Taliban.
One problem with human shields…..they really don't stop bullets or shrapnal. Ok all you war protesters how come your not crawling up President Obama's butt? Or now that the Democrat's are in total power they don't need you anymore.

I 100% agree with you. They won't let these men and women do what needs to be done. Seems to me if it's gone to war, then politics and playing fair, and cutting a deal, has all been exhausted. I cringe when I hear stuff like when they were bombing Isreal and after a long time of not responding, they did, and they were saying it was excessive. Amazingly and sadly we all know that the Taliban or any other radical Islamic group for that matter use this tactic because the media blame all but those responsible. The Taliban will do exactly what they did in Afghanistan, hide behind the general public which IS A WAR CRIME, and when they are shot at they blame the military, usually us, for the reckless and tragic killing of all those poor Muslim civilians.
The Taliban sends out its form letter to the media:

If those (insert opposing forces name here) didn't attack this never would have happened. If the (insert opposing forces name here) would get out of (insert most recent event here) we would have no reason to retaliate against (insert opposing forces name here) for their heinous crimes against the Islamic faithful. If only (insert opposing forces name here) would go back their infidel country we could pursue peace and this never would happen again.
The media buys into it hook, line and sinker forgetting such events the 1993 World Trade Center attack, stopping the mass murder of Muslims in Kosovo, Sadam's invasion of Kuwait, gassing his own people along with real torture in the medieval sense. They will use any event that does not chronologically fit but sounds good. The media buys into these ridiculous claims and plays judge, jury and executioner without a shred of evidence blasting it all over as if it were the gospel. Truth be damned were after our agenda at any cost! It doesn't matter what good we bring the media chooses to ignore what brought us into combat in the first place.
Its the oldest trick in Warfare. Paint the words Milk Factory on the side of a munitions stash, put hideouts behind schools and in residential neighborhoods. Its a win win situation for them. If they get attacked, then hey they can wage a propaganda war in the west. They themselves do not give a $.01 for women in there society. Women are not even granted birth or Death Certificates in many Muslim nations. Women are simply breed mares and can be easily replaced. What other barbarians strap explosives to mentally handicapped old women and send them into crowded markets?
The Lebanese were doing the same thing when Israel finally retaliated against the constant barrage of rockets last year. It's a way of life for the terrorists. Use civilians to make us and the Israelis look like the barbarians.
You just read Marcus Luttrell's book Lone Survivor and know what is really going on over there. I knew as soon as the press reported American forces had killed civilians that they were most likely being used as shields. The media will ALWAYS cast the American military as the bad guys. Between the media and Washington our military doesn't get the chance it needs to win the war.
Speaking of politics being involved in the war, It seems to me that when Bush was in office we got constant body counts and reminders of how many soldiers we had lost in Afghanistan and Iraq, almost hourly from the main stream news. Is it my imigination or has this stopped since this bunch got in the White House?

I feel terrible for the people of Afghanastan–there is only one way to respond to terror: fight it! Villagers must stand up to these people who hijack their religion and use their children to win at any cost.
And shame on Karzai for his views on white phosphorous. If it were not for American troops, someone would have certainly separated his head from the rest of his body by now. He should be praising what we do, not criticizing it.

I don't advocate the use of nuclear weapons for this particular military campaign. It's like killing ants with a hammer. However, I do advocate giving our troops the maximum amount of firepower to deal with said issue, AS WELL AS, backing them with the full political will of the People AND getting the hell out of their way.
You know, DC, if you allowed the military to do it's job (Fight to win) they just might surprise you and come home earlier than even you might have thought. I'm just saying.

The killing of "innocents" in the time of war is as old as war itself, face it people as long as we must fight to preserve our freedoms and way of life, "innocents" will die, unfortunate, but true. The use of "human" sheilds, women and children as weapons again is not new. It was a tactic of Veit Cong in Nam, a number of young "innocent" planted bombs, wher GI's gather, used grenades to kill GI's. So hearing that the Taliban is doing it doesn't surprise me, but what gets my goat is how the administration, BH0 and Hillary Rotten Clinton both apologize before finding out the facts. Our military does all it can to avoid collateral damage, but face it, mistakes can be made and innocents may die or get wounded. As cold as it sounds, that's war! Particularly in a war where we can not tell friend from foe. Now, you know where the saying "Shoot'em all and let God sort it out." comes from and why.

Then I say "Do it yourself, and quit asking America to do your dirty work". We should never be in a war that we will not be allowed to win.
And I still say, Afghanastan is not the place where we need to be fighting. We need to fighting in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Win there, the rest is easy.
And we cannot win by sheltering and excusing terrorist who do not value any lives, even their own. Instead, we need to use the only power we have over them—using their own law. Take out the Mosques and Islamic schools. Round up the clerics. Anyone preaching violence, kill them.

I think there is quite a good relationship here between our two peoples which I wish to exploit. They want to die and go to heaven and we want to kill them. Here's my win/win solution ("negotiation" for the liberals) build the world's largest gallows using the world's largest stockpile of rope, round them all up and hang them all in one swift stroke.
What's the end result?
They promptly get an express lane ticket to "heaven." We rid the world of their loathsome violent behaviour, filthy cart-beggar attire and pestilence. As a bonus we get the Guinness Book of World Record notoriety for world's largest neck-tie party. Everybody wins…

They are cowards! They won't fight an organized military out in the open because they will lose, and all they have left is to hide behind the innocent. However I must point out that at least some of the human shields may be willing participants, as I am sure many of you are aware of the two faces many of these people wear. Many of them will pretend to be your friend right up to the point when they throw a grenade at you. Pray for our military to be able to sense the difference between friend or foe.
They are cowards indeed. If the U.N. really had a clue, it would start a worldwide publicity campaign pointing out that fact. But, that would be politically incorrect.

This morning I saw a commercial at first I thought it was for some branch of the military but then they showed people with flags, none of these where stars and strips. So I started paying closer attention. Wondering what it was for it was for the Air force. I Saw no United States branding
on the commercial. Is this a move towards a north American military? only a UN military?

They are supposed to be objective, but read the APObama stuff. It is all slanted left and at times anti-American. That is what I was pointing out.
Obama, during his two year campaign for the high office, blamed our military on a regular bases, calling it "air raiding villages and killing innocent civilians. He even blamed President Bush for supporting this. Well, I just wonder how he is going to take that same critisism? Except, I would never blame our troups. This is all Obama as it is his war now. Let's see how long his base puts up with this. I think House Rep. David Obey gave him one year. Strange, when this same group was saying "bring our troups home" when the Commander IN Chief was different.
No one wants civilian casualties, no matter what the terrorists who hijacked our planes and flew them into buildings kil ling 3000 people thought about their innocence. Karzai will complain about it if it happens, the press will spin it as all our fault, and BH0 will still have someone to blame – like our troops. You are right, his base will not put up with it, the pressure will be on, and you can bet he already has a strategy to cast the blame on others for civilian casualties while taking credit for any successes we have.
The US is always concerned with civillian casualties for good reason. Why stir a hornet's nest when we do not need to do so? But in these cases (I am very familiar with these tactics, as my husband saw them first hand in Vietnam), I can tell you that these despicable acts are always perpetrated by desperate, angry, and non-law abiding people. Americans do not target innocents. But sometimes they are held too close and get mixed up in the fighting. And just because someone doesn't wear a uniform doesn't mean that they are not regular army of the enemy camp. Many of those who fought in Vietnam were women and children not in uniform.
You are right and I know we wish to avoid civilian casualties, but the article DID imply that the US is not as concerned.
Until America and the world get it through their heads exactly the level of extremism and barbarism we really are up against, we are not going to be able to defeat these medievil thug terrorists. But, yeah let Obama have some talks with them. That should set them straight all right.
I'm in complete agreement. If we don't wake up, we're gonna be sooooooo screwed when the next attack hits us.
My hope is that when the next attack comes, it hits those who think we should hold hands with the terrorists and "just get along".
We are dealing with people who have a mentality 4 or 5 hundred years behind the rest of the world. The only way to deal with them is brute force. Wait, maybe we could invite them to appear on Oprah with Dr. Phil.

I really don't know what else we could expect from the same mindset that gave us Iran sending children into minefields ahead of troops when they were at war with Iraq. These people place no value on human life, and less than no value on the life of women and children. They are property to them. Nothing more.
And anyone who says that the Muslim religion is a religion of peace is living in a fantasy world. With the Muslims, there IS a small group of moderates who would NOT use the Koran to justify anything. Guess what? The moderate Muslims are by far the minority.
As bad as the (false claiming Christian) protestors who were showing up to disrupt American service people's services are, even THEY wouldn't use their own children to step on mines and blow themselves up in the name of God.

Hey if the Taliban needs any more human shields we could offer to send Piglosi,Reid,Franks,Feinstein, and quite a few others. Course they would feel sorry for those poor muslims for wanting to live in the stone age. We need to set up a "Send a muslim back in time" fund. Help in our effort to see that these poor,poor extremist are able to get their 72 Virginians,I mean virgins.

My whole family today was born out of WW II. I also pray our military would be unleashed from these restraints. Its disgusting to see D.C. have contempt of our own military. Then on the news you hear of a bad marine and this marine did this or that and should go to jail. When my father came back from Vietnam in 71 I can only remember him saying once to me that the US should of finished the job.
Now look at N. Korea ? they got a nuke. But blame the USA, we defeated Japan. How horrible were they to China in WW II ?
