Well looks like all that water we squirted up people's noses wasnt a deterent after all…
When in the hell are we going to take the gloves off and kick the crap out of these terrorist?
Pork filled bullets and bombs rained down on them for a week and it's over. Problem solved…
Is it just me or are the Taliban like a vampire that just won't die? I almost feel like we are playing a very large and real version of wack-a-mole, we're losing, and running out of quarters. Did they put John Wayne on ice? Because it may be time to thaw him out and turn him loose. I'm SO tired of playing politics instead of FIGHTING a war. How about letting us KICK SOME A$$ instead of appealing to some politician's constituents. Maybe then, we can bring our troops home.
Can we just bring our troops home? If we are not going to be allowed to fight to win then what is the point. I have been to Afgan and Iraq multiple times, our enemies are going to attack us here in the states either way. I am sure they sense weakness and will exploit it. It just seems like a waste of time, those people over there have been fighting for thousands of years, nothing we do will stop it. You ask me, our military should be down in South America kicking the crap out of the drug cartels. They are doing far more damage to our country than terrorist.
This is very troublesome. Obama might commit, but not for the long haul. I am sure our allies and enemies must be aware he is a weak empty suit. Did he mess things up last week when he said Pakistan could not defend their country and he would have step in and help? He certainly overstepped his bounds. Right now, he does not send all the troops to Afghanistan that the military asked for.
I don't see why we are putting troops and money over there when all we have to do is send them a STERN letter. That'll stop em bygolly!
Well as much as I'd love to see us carpet bomb the hills and high desert there, we're not going to fight to win, we'll let armchair generals run it from the beltway, and make sure we don't touch one "civillian" target or a mosque. Let that rabble rage over one of the more useless strips of land. I hate to say it but I'd rather us just sit this out, to keep our warriors and their honor safe.
Your approach is most likely correct, but the Obama administration will screw it up by fighting this war in a limited way. It will be a Viet Nam approach. If you think it is getting bad in Pakistan and Afghanistan, just wait to see what happens after we pull out of Iraq.
Also, I speculate that if the Taliban gets close to gaining control of Pakistan's nukes, Obama won't have to worry about it. China and/or Russia will deal with that situation in a big way, but only if India doesn't take care of it first.
Any one here know of "the Chosin few"? When things get tough just remember these men, you will be inspired. BTW, one of them is my teacher, Pastor Arnold Murry – http://www.shepherdschapel.com/index.cfm
http://www.homeofheroes.com/brotherhood/chosin.ht...
In November, 1950 eight thousand fighters, most of them United States Marines, struggled to survive the coldest winter in 100 years in North Korea. Surrounded by 120,000 Chinese soldiers, their only lifeline was a 15'-wide, steep mountain road they called the M.S.R. (Main Supply Route) that led to the port city of Hungnam. From Yudam-ni at the north west corner of the Chanjin Reservoir, the MSR was a dangerous, 78-mile journey to the Sea of Japan. The trip was made far more difficult by the massive enemy force surrounding it. The withdrawal, the longest in American military history, would take 13 days and cost many lives. Those who didn't understand what was happening called it a "retreat", while one American general simply said, "We're attacking in a different direction." How you access what happened over those two freezing weeks in North Korea depends on your perspective.
It is adversity that demands valor, trial that demonstrates the highest levels of brotherhood. The Marines at the Chanjin Reservoir, identified on Japanese maps as the CHOSIN Reservoir, pulled together to insure the success of the withdrawal. What many people might have considered to be the darkest two weeks in Marine Corps history, may have in fact, become the Marine Corp's DEFINING MOMENT. With their backs to the wall, the men of the 1st Marine Division pulled together to accomplish the impossible. Their teamwork cemented a band of brothers who came to call themselves:
Nice! Pass my gratitude to your Pastor.
your welcome
sorry put up bad link

If you're a patriot & you're defending the colors of the USA , you're called by our own government an EXTREMISTS , if they're beheading – slaughtering – torturing – beating – kidnapping – raping , they're called by our own government MODERATES , so since our government think that the Talibans are MODERATES , that means we shouldnt be worried @ all about the NUC'S falling into their hands , again after all they're MODERATES & they will use the NUC'S for only peaceful , civil & humanitarian use .
So the Obama admin. solved the Taliban problem by calling them MODERATES & that Al-Qaeda is their Spiritual Humanitarian Consultants .
This delusional thinking is approved by NAZI PELOSI .

For those who believe prayer is the answer.
I just hope they aren't waiting for Obama to save them! Might be a long wait.
Both India and Pakistan (who are not BFF) are nuclear powers and from what I know about Pakistan if this country power structure falls into the hands of the Taliban which sounds like it could happen –does anyone on this site truly believe that India will sit on their hands? Heck India is still recovering from the last attack in Bombay and they blame terrorist groups from inside Pakistan. Our president is not a hawk and unless Barrack owes the Saudi's for something I don't know about – I really don't see him stepping up to this stinky plate unless push comes to shove. Sadly I do see another World War someday and it is possible that India & Pakistan just might be the spark that lights that candle!
I STAND CORRECTED….BREAKING NEWS: " Since fighting broke out Tuesday, thousands of men, women and children have fled Swat's main town of Mingora and surrounding districts, fearing an imminent major military operation. The government said it believes refugees could reach 500,000."
Let's hope and pray that the military in Paksistan can get a hold of this situation for everyone sake!
Obama campaigned for 4 years for the president's job, all the while saying he would cut off all military support, if he became president. Now, as president, Obama is going headlong into the war, asking for $94Billion to continue, and expand the Afganistan, and, now the Pakistan wars way into the future!
Unless Pakistan asks for help, Obama should not advance into Pakistan, any more than present. He already is spending $Billions in Pakistan, but if he sends troops in, without considering all the facts, he could be getting us into another Vietnam!
Obama is also cutting our Defense budget dramaticlly at the same time! There is a cross-roads coming, and I am very concerned!
The cuts Obama proposes to the defense budget have nothing to do with the troops or the arsenal they are currently using in the wars. The cuts he was speaking of making were the black holes in the defense budget, like the laser attached to an aircraft, a sonic-wave blaster attached to tanks and humvees, and basically the futuristic crap that has sucked tens of billions of dollars away from the troops.
Now, he says one thing and does another. So we will see I guess. However, Pakistan requires action NOW. The Taliban is only 60 miles outside of Islamabad. Now if the Taliban were only 60 miles outside of Kabul, I wouldn't care, but Islamabad is the key to a nuclear arsenal that we have no idea on how large it is or what it takes to actually set off one of the bombs. Nuclear Taliban = Global Threat
USMC: good thoughts. But the cuts in defense spending is just racheting up. There will be huge spending cuts coming, some are good.
I agree we must do something to prevent any radical groups from gaining control of Pakistans nuclear arsenal.
This is much more difficult to do that say. We need Pakistan call for help. We can't just barge right in there, or all Muslems will become united against us, then we have a problem of major concequences!
The things he claims to be cutting are cold war era items. If he cuts unnecessary defense spending and directs the money to the task at hand I don't see a problem. If he takes the money and then directs it towards his social engineering agenda then that's a problem.
defender163; You say Obama is cutting only cold war era items. That is wrong, the cuts are "state-of-the-art" military items, like the F-22 Raptor, the state of the art airplane; Reducing Aircraft Carriers; Ending the C-17 transport Aircraft, that aids in moving Troops, and weapons quickly at a time of need; Cutting and ending the Airborne Laser program (ABL), a much needed Anti-Missile aircraft, one of the newest and most needed planes for the future! There are more cuts coming that will make the USA a shell of its former self!
The number ONE responsibility of the Federal Government is to have the best military defense in the world.
Millitary cuts provide encouragement to our enemies to become more aggressive.
If you want to have cuts, complain to the President for all his useless spending on programs that wiil only cost millions of jobs. Programs like his Cap-and-Trade that will cost every family $Thousands each and every year. Or Obama's Socialized Health care, that will cost $Trillions of dollars, and make health care a shambles.

This is what AMERICA is facing. You make your own decision.

One can not change a person's thinking when indoctrinated from childhood.
The enemy is taking ground and killing and we are going to send civilian help. We should not spill American blood unless we are prepared to win not kinda win.
The Taliban would cut off your head's and our childrens head's if they could and we are talking about spending more money.
We could club them with dollar bills.
This is disgusting. Bend over and kiss you know what good bye if this continues.
Guess this is what his "oversees contingency plan" is.If we use the might of our military,go in and take care of business instead of waiting for someone else to do it, it would be over.We should never allowed them to regroup in Pakistan.Hunt them down and get each and everyone of them.
Guess this is what his "oversees contingency plan" is.If we use the might of our military,go in and take care of business instead of waiting for someone else to do it, it would be over.We should never have allowed them to regroup in Pakistan.Hunt them down and get each and everyone of them.
If BHO continues his spending spree thats about all the value our money will have
Is this what Joe Biden called "A Test" for Obama? It seems that other nations are testing Obama on a daily basis. And yet again either with or without his teleprompter, he still looks lost. This just gives him another excuse to keep eating his waffle.
IntenseDebate Notification <DIV>Boopster; Agreed. That is correct, we could not go into Pakistan legally. </DIV> <DIV>But now, there is a different leader that may be more condoning!</DIV> <DIV style=\”FONT: 10pt arial\”>
Better yet. Start coating all of our military rounds with pig blood just so the Taliban and their ilk understand. Send 'em all to the Devil with pig blood inside. Wonder how long they would fight then? Oh, sorry, that would be cruel and inhumane treatment of participants in "man caused contingency operations". Maybe they would like to join hands and sing Kum by Yah Allah with the Obamination.
Yes, I'm just another potential domestic terrorist who is former military and loves my country.
help me understand what will it take to get through to obama that he,s not doing what we want.how do we stop his agenda?is there noway short of anarchy?we must act now & not delay.i love the america i knew as a child &iam so afraid that is all but gone now. GOD pease forgive me for not waking up sooner.hey america is this the best that we can really do.are we not accountable for what our gov. does?Help me to understand what is necessary to stop this monster & turn this around. We are GOD,s gift to the world what do we do now.this is it.HE already has the plan & HE is waiting for true americans to simply ask for HIS plan for us.the country it,s not bow to any man.only to HIS will.help me to look at this from wisdom.there is one point a very specific thing is keeping from HIS blessing,it is the blood of the innocient. We as god fearing cannot sit back while thousands of babies are slaughtered. I believe that if we will concentrate onthis stopit.that all other things will melt away. more later.help!!
Try millions of babies not just here in the U.S. but now we are also paying for abortions abroad. Aren't we fortunate we have such socialistic sadist in Govt. now? Incidentally I was reading an ariticle today that referred to a paragraph in the socialized medicine we will be getting whether we want it or not. It refers to seniors who should understand that as you age you should not always see a doctor to treat a condition that comes with aging. I wonder if that includes arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, osteoporisis, dementia and alzheimers? Gives us a lot to look forward to doesn't it? How to get through to Obama? How about the next election if it's not too late.
The Taliban are true fanatics. Remember that Buddhist statue they blew up just because it was there. They will use nuclear weapons if they get them, period. They are religious believers who kill as part of their worship. Women, gays, Christians, Jews are sacrificial animals to them. In their view India must be obliterated. So India will act first if the Taliban win and they are right to do so.

OT 401ks hit by withdraw fee
Think if world war 2 was fought by today rules.I think the out come would be a little different
Half of us would be speaking Japanese and the other half would be speaking German!!!!
The whole world know s we have a weakling for a President….even worse, one who sides with them the majority of the time……we have become sitting ducks for any terrorist country who chooses to attack again….and, they will, it's just a matter of time…..Oh well, Obama never saw a crisis he didn't like, it will be no different….(unless it's in HIS NEIGHBORHOOD, that is….
But Hollywood agrees totally with Obama and we know how knowledgeable they are!
The problem is we ousted the Tiliban from Afgan territory, but they just fled to Pakistan, and have been rebuilding ever since!
detestObama, agree they have been rebuilding, and not just in Pakistan. This re-emergence is also due to Pakistan not allowing the U.S. to attack on certain areas of know strongholds by the Taliban So,, they also allowed this to happen on their watch by agreeing to a truce in areas where the Taliban was present.
very true weither they reasurged as a weakened stance or not, but we are in one now that they have reasurged. It's scary.
The lack of response from the Obama Office on this issue is sickening. The Taliban were the original goal after 9-11 occured and Obama's promises during his campaign were to get back to the mission. How come he hasn't done anything besides go out for hamburgers and further crush our middle-class with more spending and try to push corporations into a corner?
The Taliban are a real threat. The Taliban will not negotiate. We need to divert the billions of dollars we send Pakistan in foreign aid and place that money into a military action to secure Islamabad and it's nuclear arsenal. It's not the time to have meetings and to talk. Last I heard, the Taliban were only 60 miles outside of Islamabad. 60 miles…
I firmly believe this issue will be Obama's first true test in office.
USMC; The Taliban was not the original goal of the retaliatory strikes by the USA. The United States were after Osama bin Ladin, and his al-Qaeda Islamic terrorist organization! The Taliban were in the way, and had to be dealt with.
These are two separate groups.
Osama, Obama, really close names, and may think close to the same!
Osama Bin Laden only became the primary target after we were ont he ground in Afghanistan. Stablizing Afghanistan and removing the Taliban from power there were the primary missions of our Military post-911. Bin Laden, as much as we would like to say was primary, didn't become so until later after Afghanistan was "stabilized" and the Taliban was removed from power.
If you remember the video Bin Laden released after the attacks, he praised the attacks but denied any involvement.
In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, the United States government decided to respond militarily, and began to prepare its armed forces to overthrow the Taliban regime it believed was harboring al-Qaeda. Before the United States attacked, it offered Taliban leader Mullah Omar a chance to surrender bin Laden and his top associates. The first forces to be inserted into Afghanistan were Paramilitary Officers from the CIA's elite Special Activities Division (SAD).

you decide.
Isn't Obama helping them out a bit what with the $20.3 million he asked for yesterday for the migration assistance to Palestine refugees?
Apt comment jwjcc1! If we're not willing to do whatever we have to do to win the war, we should simply stay home and suck our thumbs.
I wonder if BH0's policy will be to tell the world (and the Taliban will be listening too) just what we are going to do (include maps so there is no misunderstanding), just when we are going to do it (include our calendar so the dates can be highlighted), just what we will use to get it done (full details on our military equip and photos), and just when we will be leaving (highlight date on calendar to be sure the $100/lb beef is available for farewell party).
I don't trust his policies – can you tell? I sincerely hope and pray that he has our fine military's back on this.
Interesting link at this CNN site. Two freshmen congressmen are being followed, entering diary entries about their experiences. Jason Chaffetz, a freshman from Utah, sleeps on a cot in his office, spends very little in general, is one of the men being featured. Makes for interesting reading.
If were an enemy of the US, I would be trying to resurge, also. Especially since the US "leader" is basically one of my own! Maybe he's ("the One") the long awaited "13th Imam" that Imadinnerjacket talks about? Just a thought!
Other than that, "the One's" plan seems to be working oh so well, don't you think?
If Obama isn't the one, he is ushering in the great Satan!
Carpet bomb, then clear with armored infantry,
Is there really any other way?
Negotiations never work out when ideological opposites meet head-on.
WE are either fighting a revolution or have finally been hit with the big quake .
This is all merely a test. A test to see if we can and will embrace our beliefs. I don’t think we are in the end times yet. Either way, getting right and staying there with God is a good thing.
I agree we are not in the end times yet but we are seeing all the signs that lead up to that time the biggest sign will be (in my opinion) when Israel is attacked and saved from destruction then the end times will come fast God is the only one that knows for sure when that time will be and he is giving ALL his children time to make up their minds which side they will be on
That is what happens when you play both sides of the fence and your so-called allies leader is perceived as a feckless weakling coward.
Well, I say we give the Taliban a nuke as a going away present. Their going away. Set the detonator up so that it's like an IED. As the Taliban are running around celebrating like a bunch of monkeys set it off via cell phone, a system they favor, sort of like poetic justice. Since most of the civilian population is running now their casualties would be reduced. If this method is too harsh then how about we airdrop hundreds of thousands of live pigs into the whole area, then cut off their supply of food so that they would starve or fry a little bacon. What happened to shock and awe? Force is all these types understand. "Help a radical Islamist meet Allah today!"
Hear hear. Nuking them back to the Stone Age would be an improvement. And best of all, since they routinely strap bombs to their backs in hopes of getting those 72 virgins, we could call it doing them a favor.
Lib Weenie: OH MY GAWD! I can't believe you would kill all those poor poor people!!
Us: Just being neighborly!
Do we want to know WHY the taliban is gaining in these areas? Let's look at things Obama believes will bring peace to the region …
"Obama said sending "agricultural specialists and educators; engineers and lawyers" to Afghanistan will help "advance security, opportunity and justice" across the country."
Sending lawyers will advance security? I don't think so. This is an area that is so war torn that it would take a complete generation to get that mentality out of the heads of people. It's like Operation Rwanda. They believe that educating children to be scientists is the way into prosperity.
Prosperity is a road, not a destination.
The road is paved with milestones. These include (but are not limited to) freedom, agriculture, and industry. Freedom must first be achieved; the freedom to keep what one works for; the freedom to be ones own agent, etc. Agriculture is a necessary step and I don't care how much anyone looks down on the farmer. If he weren't there growing the food we would all be dead of starvation. How many of us are completely self reliant and have no need for any grocery store? Industry can ONLY come after the other two are in place. With industry must be education.
So many people have this backwards. They want education first and figure everything else will fall into place. This is the ultimate house of cards as it has no foundation to lay on. This (in my view) is also the primary driver for so many of the issues we face today both within and outside this country.
Gee…what a surprise.
The point in history where wars were fought with rules, was the point in history where wars were made to be lost. Until we as a nation fight with only one purpose in mind, which is unanimous victory, will continue to recklessly expend the lives of our soldiers in places like the middle east. We either need to fight to win, or bring our soldiers home.
Carpet bomb, then clear with infantry.
Is there really any other way?
As long as you're ok explaining all the collateral damage.
Jwjcc, Agree, we have fought with one hand behind our backs, we have been to Iraq twice and with our new withdrawal date and things such as they are in the Middle East, really think even though I don’t like it we will be back a third time.
Good post – is that a Royal Crown Cola insignia as your icon? That was always my favorite, and I haven't had it in years.
RC= Reagan Conservative. I like the soda too:-)
If the war was handled right originally, we should have wiped out the Taliban and AlQuida. Jwjcc1 is right. If the Taliban or Al Quida had the technology or military might, they would show no mercy , launching missiles at the USA, not worrying about who they kill in the process. This type of nonsence about fighting a politically correct war is crazy. This type of fear fighting started in Vietnam when children were throwing grenades into our helicopters and people were worrying about civilian casualties. I do not mean to sound mean or uncaring, but war is war. Fight to win.
If we had had proper Leadership the President would have forced Congress to declared War On Terrorism after
9/11 like they did after Pearl Harbor.
I to wish we were NOT spending our young soldiers lives for NOTHING.
As Douglas MacArthur said "THERE IS NOT SUBSTITUTE FOR WINNING"………………
I read it and yes Israel will stand. It is something to read and watch biblically everything happening and happening very quickly. Obama is like Judas. He was elected for it to happen?
Obama wishes he was Judas. That would mean he has SOME significance. He's just one of many false prophets we were warned about.
Agreed…He is not the Anti-Christ. He is paving the way for him though…
Our response…Useless rhetoric, and proclamations. What the hell is going on over there? Don't we have forces still deployed, or has our commander and chief neutered our troops? Does he still think we can dance around like a bunch of fairies and not actually do any fighting? Damn it all, form a line, lock and load and give em hell.
Just remember I'm not paying for any more ammunition. (U.S. Congress)
This situation will become worst, look for american commitment in this conflict with pakistan!!!
If you think Revelation is relevant to current events, check out Zechariah chapter 12 (Zechariah is the second-to-last book in the Old Testament).
Read the entire chapter (it's only 14 verses), but pay special attention to verses 3 and 10.
I think now would be a good time to start building bomb shelters.
Make that a bunker.
It's spring – a time when all good Talibani hearts turn to war. The question is when Obama grows tired of fighting in Afghanistan how will he blame the loss on President Bush. He has claimed this war as his own.
You forget that Robert Gates is still Secretary of Defense, and who appointed Gates? Bush of course.
War! Another diversion Emanuel can benefit from while he and Obamamama laugh up their sleeve about our naivete.
God help the whole world! If you have never prayed, now would be a good time to start.
I would have sworn that while campaigning for office Obama said the real problem was with Pakistan and that he would go into Pakistan and get terrorists (sorry, I can't remember the new name for terrorists) or the Taliban whether the rulers of that country liked it or not. Things were much quieter and much more in control then. I guess now that things are a lot worse and the Taliban are actually threatening the Pakistan government in addition to American troops, it's time to talk to them instead. No wonder I laughed when he made that statement about going into Pakistan.
Maybe Obama and Pakistan's ruler can talk about the situation over a burger at lunch.
The new term is "manmade disaster specialists" instead of terrorists. According to Homeland Security, only conservatives are terrorists now.
America never learns! We had a preview of this in Viet Nam, its not about how many of the ememy we kill, it is about gaining control of the area. BH0 and America….We are in a war for our lives and the American way of life, gear it up, take and hold the area, we can fully patrol the borders (both here and there), take off the gloves and let our military do their jobs. Stop being political correct and say $cre w the UN and rest of the world, our allies will back us, our fair weather friends will fall to the way side. Oh, I'm sorry I'm p*$$ing in the Ocean, I thought I was talking to a President that gives a dam about our country. Does everyone have their arrow on the floor pointing towards Mecca?
If you are a terrorist are you going to fear Harry "We lost" Reid and B. Hussein "I apologize" Obama or are you going to be afraid of VP Cheney and Rumsfeld?
I'm not even muslim, and I'm afraid of Cheney and Rummy!
I agree with Boopster this is a Cluster F–K of Monumental Proportions, the UN is worthless as Tit's on a Boar Hog, and NATO isn't much better, this will be OBAMA's War in Afghanistan and it will be American Blood that will be Spilled
because it will be a Guerrilla War, a War of Attrition (been there done that in Viet Nam, Nicaraugua, and in El Salvador
and they aren't Pretty), unwinnable really because eventually you give the Bad Guys a Bloody Nose and they go away and hide, then the Country that you were sent to defend and assist start to turn on you because you are an occupier,
and back in the good old USof A the AntiWar A$$HOLES are calling you Baby Killers and War Mongers, no fun really, and in the Meantime Israel will probably Bomb the Hell out of Iran, and Congress will be ready to Prosecute you for War Crimes, Historically the Afghans have only been Conquered once and Alexander the Great looked around said it wasn't worth it and left, if Pakistan fall to the Taliban I figure that India will probably Nuke them, I'm curious as to how the Teleprompter in Chief is going to handle all this Drama maybe Apologize to some body and Bad Mouth America again.

The U.S.A. did oust the Taliban after the 9/11 attack on the U.S..
Their re-emergence is due to our weakened stance on dealing with “terrorists” , of course the Taliban want Afganistan back. We are showing signs of pressuring Israel to bend to the Palestinians’.(Hamas) Nothing but notes from the U.N. dealing with Irans continued nuclear efforts. North Korea gets a nasty note from the U.N. for their long range missile launch. The U.S. and Iraq part ways on June 30th. What exactly does the Taliban have to do but wait it out. India is also watching and sitting there with their own arsenal of nukes and they really do not like Pakistan. This is a cluster …….
Was there any doubt? The only way to suppress these terrorists, is to be just as ruthless as they are. The same strategy was played out when Russia was there. They will take, pull back and then wait it out. The war on terror will only end when the last radical muslim has been buried face down with a mouth packed full of bacon. Send them to hell.
Unfortunately the world will now be experiencing a shortage of pig.
At least we won't have to worry about swine flu.
If it would end the conflict, I'd raise than donate them to the military. Pigs are fast breeders, even faster than radicals can blow themselves up.
Hey if you gotta go, you might as well go with bacon in your mouth!
It won't bother me, but to a Muslim, Pork of any kind (other than congressional), is extremely taboo. Perhaps if the idea of getting to heaven is removed, you will remove the desire to strap on an explosive belt, and kill women and children. Take the incentive away. Maybe instead of spraying them with bullets, we should be spraying them with pig lard?
God help us.
God Bless our troops while our commander-in-chief goes to Hell for a buger.
Excellent thought process. A relative in TN who served in the Pacific Theater during WW2 told me he felt the main reason for the villification of the Viet Nam War and its returning vets was the media. He said during WW2, there were also atrocities that took place, and the people back home would only know what the returning soldiers told them. He said the media was not in everyone's living room showing footage while those here at home were eating dinner. He said the press should stay off the battlefield, and the people should be satisfied with memoirs written by those who had been there fighting for freedom, and not look to the stories printed by 'journalists' hoping for a Pulitzer. I think he was talking about the public sentiment you referenced, and I agree.

I'm glad you brought that up, because the need to explain anything is entirely the problem. Public sentiment is largely driven by the information collected and disseminated from the media. Everytime there is a new conflict, there is a further expectation of more "transparency" on the battlefield–and for some reason this expectation only seems to apply to the USA. Would Russia or China feel the need to explain away their collateral damage? Of couse not! They understand victory is more important than having your enemies like you. On the other hand, our leadership has decided to incrementally decrease our ability to fight to win by carrying a big stick but walking softer with each successive conflict. Until our leadership stops trying to level the playing field with countries that dont share our might; we will be doomed to expend american lives and dollars in half-hearted efforts. Collateral damage sucks, but I would rather it suck for them, than for us to continue to fight wars with public sentiment driving our tactics on the battlefield.
May I suggest that the military just keep it's collective mouth closed and not expalin anything to anybody?
We had a saying during VietNam…"Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out". I'm sure the pussyified MSM will cower in fear and disgust, but f'em, they are below contempt anyhow, so who cares what they think.
Is that a public domain logo? I would like to get one. The 1980 was the first presidential election I could vote in, and Reagan was my choice! And my 1st grader's, who came home from school in tears because only she and one other kid voted for Reagan. I told her it didn't matter, she still did the right thing. She felt totally empowered (and at 33 still does) because of that election!
Please note the word if.I don't want military cuts.We need more spent on the military.
My point is he's already stated his intentions. If he takes the money he is cutting and spends it on the task at hand,I don't see a problem.
Any and all Muslims who get irritated at us for "barging" into Pakistan are more than likely already against us for "barging" into Iraq and Afghanistan.
Us "barging" into Pakistan would be more justified than our invasion of Iraq in my opinion. At least we know for a FACT that Pakistan is nuclearly armed and the threat is REAL.
USMC: You are right, very few Muslems actually want us in their Pakistan country. We are the hated Infidels, and nothing we do will change their minds, because of the muslem religion is pounding in thier heads that we are evil. All countries that are not Muslem, are hated by the Islamic religion. As for the USA marching into Pakistan, we can not just willy-nilly do what we want without Zardari's OK. This is a very sensitive region, that could explode into World War 3.
As far a Iraq, I was shocked that we went into that war!
USMC: I stand by my earlier statement. The reason we were in Afganistan, and to fight the taliban was they would not hand over Osama bin Ladin. Our original purpose was to go after al-Qaeda, and Osama bin Ladin, he was the one that created 9/11! Really I think we are close to an agreement!
