  1. Starwings says:

Finally, some of the adults that aren’t genuflecting before the picture of Obama are standing up and trying to stop at least one stupid thing.

  2. pslwd says:

How refreshing. They are finally going to start talking about plans!!! If they would have only started that before the spendulous bill. Obama has spent trillions of dollars with no plan.

  3. phoenician says:

I heard on the news yesterday on the radio, that Obama was proposing sending them to a Saudi Arabia camp, and having them put through "re-education" and religion transformation. I thought that's what he wanted to do with us.
I don't think that'll go over well with the terrorists and Obama is all for appeasing them.

  4. NewtonW says:

    "See I told you so"

Oh and somebody let me know when the troops are HOME. not just out of Iraq and into Afghanistan

  5. pslwd says:

Welcome to the real world, Obama. Think things through before you "make a plan." AS Cheney said, Gitmo is a problem, but the best solution to a bad problem.

  6. Gregory says:

Obama will be getting a call from George Soros. I'd like to be a fly on the wall for that one.

  7. QuitePatriot says:

Just take'm out back and shoot'm. Bury them in a big hole and build a latrine on top.
    Case Closed.

  8. Tntsgram says:

What really and truly gets me, is those Gitmo detainees would have been donning hoods, and cutting off the heads of innocent people. Waterboarding at Gitmo was not torture. John McCain knows all too well what real torture is (only to have the dems and MSM make fun of him trying to wave which really hurts my heart for him), and I'm sure there are many many American men/women just like him. He may not have made the greatest President, but he knows. I'm truly p.o'd about the nerve of the Dems in Congress wanting to prosecute the former administration. That is obscene, and nobody in Congress or the U.S. can honestly say we were in greater danger with Bush in office. He kept us safe, he knew what was in Gitmo, as did the Congress (including Pelosi). The ACLU certainly would not be kept safe in Iraq, Iran, Afgan, or any of the other terrorist nations. They'd get their stupid heads cut off on camera. Let's move the Gitmo detainees into their homes, and the homes of anybody that wants to punish the former administration. It has to be conditional, they have to be handcuffed to THEIR detainee 24-7, so they can watch them.

  9. iKate says:

Where is the PRESS? He was going to close Gitmo, right? He was going to bring the troops home, right? He is doing the same thing Bush did and getting a free pass from the MSM.

  10. careybrace says:

Let them all out to live in Chicago.

  11. fire_phoenix says:

Okay let me get this straight. Congress actually read something enough to know what was in it to take funding for something out. And that they are concerned at the cost of anything after their recent spending spree?

Call me cynical, but I see this more as a way President Obama can keep ONE of his many campaign promises to keep his good standing with the far left wing of his party (i.e. follow the money) without actually having to go through with a really bad idea.

And to the point of bringing them to the USA and giving our civil rights to terrorists who would just soon blow us up – I truly find this mind-bending. I'm not saying that we shouldn't treat these people humanely but I am saying that they don't deserve the rights that all our soldiers over the course of this Country's great history fought so hard to achieve for It's citizens.

    • OkPatriotMom says:

You are totally right. It will be interesting to see Obama and Congress passing this football back and forth for the next few years. Nothing will "change" and the sheeple will forget….they will be on to the next circus, whatever it may be.

    • Islandsox says:

But the far left loons will demand the closing of Gitmo and that's his problem, money or no money to do so. I think this is one promise he has to keep and when most of the detainees are found "not guilty" in federal court which we know the left wing judges will do, then they'll have to be released within our country. And since they will be found not guilty, Obama and the Dems will have to help them to "start over". They will just be a new kind of illegal immigrant needing Obama's socialistic programs to have a good, Christian life here in America. I think I'm gonna be sick.

  12. madmommy09 says:

Try them,….. firing squad if found guilty,…….send em home if found not guilty. Problem solved!

Why must we make everything so difficult?

  13. NJIAGirl says:

I'm sure Nancy Pelosi has a Big enough Mansion off of our tax dollars to house some of these scum bags with her and her Family. The rest could move into the White House and in with all the other Democrats who wanted Gitmo closed. AND LET THEM PAY TO FEED, CLOTHE AND GIVE THEM MEDICAL CARE ALSO with their very own money…..Then I wouldn't care if they closed Gitmo….

  14. dong11 says:

    ANOTHER GREAT IDEA

  15. TRAVELDOT says:

HAS ANYONE THOUGHT OF PUTTING THE GITMO GUYS IN WASHINGTON DC WHERE OBAMA AND MURTHA CAN KEEP AN EYE ON THEM.

  16. dong11 says:

I have a plan. Turn them loose in Washington DC. Give them cots so they can sleep in the halls of the senate and congress. I would fell much safer knowing our senators and congress men and women where watching over them.

  17. If they put up these terrorists…er I mean innocent people, in the White House then that would mark the first time in these last 100+ days where I would feel like my tax dollars were being spent wisely.

  18. theGhost24 says:

I say we let the some of the prisoners go back to where ever they came from and if they get killed by there Goverment then so be it, and then we tell the people that cry about the prison not being shutdown to shut up! Cause us keeping it open are actually protecting the prisoners from harm at the same time protecting Americans from another terroist attack. Why dont they understand this!?!? Thats why we need to keep the prison going.

  19. Wait, woah…Congress is asking for…..a plan? Doth mine eyes deceive, there is a slight hint of sense in the Halls of Shenanigans- um Congress? Have I just been sucked thru a wormhole and deposited in Bizarro World?

I ain't buyin it- they just want to appease their potential voters my making a half-hearted plea so they look like they are concerned. Its a bunch of bunk!
REMEMBER REMEMBER, FIRST TUESDAY [after 1st Monday] IN NOVEMBER

  20. Walt1 says:

Obama's promise to close Gitmo is a classic case of his mouth writing checks his butt can't cash. I hate military prisons too; I hate all prisons. I would love to do away with all of them. One problem however…all of those damn bad people.

Our problem is not that Gitmo sucks or that prisons suck…the problem is they don't suck enough.

  21. OldMarine says:

Hey BH0, how does it feel to let your elephant mouth overload your canary @$$. When one says something, you better know how to follow thru. As far as most Americans are concerned you can do 1 of 2 things. Leave them there till they rot or we have defeated the terrorists, which under your regime will never happen, so I guess they rot and 2. My personal favorite, put them in a rowboat with a case of beer, 2 large bags of porkrinds, tow them out to the middle of the Atlantic, give them one oar and turn them loose, oh to make it easy point them in the direction of Mecca. Problem solved.

  22. Bcoultry says:

They're in full on Cover Your Butt mode here.
"See? We didn't vote party line on EVERYTHING, here, have a cookie."

  23. I was pulling my hair out when Obama said he was closing Gitmo, I have always said and I will continue to say that Obama and his administration are more concerned with PR and with appeasing the rest of the world than they are concerned about the safety and well being of the American people. the closing of Gitmo was a PR move, it was something that could put him in good standing with Europe and the crazy liberals here in America. he did it without a plan, and now its all comin back to bite him and his buddies in the behind. If he truly cared about the well being of Americans, the thought of closing Gitmo and releasing those CIA memos would have never even crossed his mind, and the very thought of bringing the remaining ones onto American soil would have never even been thrown around by anyone on the Hill.

  24. TODIEFOR says:

Really thay need a plan befor thay make a move! That's a good idea who thought of that? I wounder if my kid's have been writeing to congress again.

  25. Tntsgram says:

They should be returned to the countries they were taken from period. To hell with their rights to safety, etc., if they are as innocent as they all claim, then they shouldn't worry about 'going home.' They were picked up on the battlefield. We (our Country) has never offered the enemy combatants sanction in the U.S., so why should we offer them sanction? Because they are Muslim?

  26. dolphins says:

Another bad decsision by Obama. Bush's approval rating will be higher than Obama's by 2012…guaranteed !
Here is a great analysis of what Obama has done so far:
    <a href=”http://www.thebarackobamawatch.com/” target=”_blank”>http://www.thebarackobamawatch.com/

  27. Del47 says:

obama should have though it through when he was campaigning ,now he is stuck ( love it , welcome to the real world Mr. obama)

  28. americanj says:

Washington D.C. would be a nice place for them. I mean, Obama does live in a mighty big house currently. He could very easily keep an eye on them. He has plenty of baby sitters as well: the Whitehouse staff, his wife, his two kids, and even his mother-in-law could all take turns. You know how Obama keeps throwing the word "Sacrafice" around. This would be a way for him to show us that words matters, which at least he used to say often.

  29. americanj says:

One setback after another for Obama. He is never going to be able to eat that waffle. Where is all of that good will Obama was supposed to be spreading when he went on his "Hate America Tour"? He can't share the wealth that way. Heck, he can even spread it. Maybe, when Obama was over on that tour he told all that would listen, "I have a gift". Some reset button. Hillary did not get the button translation wrong, it was the correct word for this regime, "Overcharged."

  30. Redsolitaire says:

I don't have any brilliant ideas of what to do with the Gitmo scumbags; but I sure hope our military has learned one, big, huge lesson from the whole experience:
    DON'T TAKE PRISONERS!

    • ricks1675mba says:

Unfortunately, they haven't learned as they brought that Somali scum to NY for trial where he will get off because his Meranda rights weren't read to him.

    • jacal says:

I have an idea, let's have each member of Congress be a host family for their favorite terrorist scum. I'm sure they would enjoy the summer on Cape Cod with Teddy or perhaps out in San Fran with the Fuhrer's mistress, Fraulein Pelosi or with any other of the Obama boot lickers. Or perhaps the bleeding hearts in the media can take them and do in-depth interviews of all the torture techniques they have and will use against our people.

    • Backdraft says:

Easier said than done unfortunatly… We've got our countries finest over there risking everything, and in return they have to worry about whether or not they can prove that they were engaged, and that they did in fact follow the rules of engagement. They've got lawyers so far up their you know what sniffing for anything that they can send these guys to jail for. Great policy huh.

We should learn from history that war is a means to an end, and to get to that end you have to do the D-A-M-N thing. We keep pussy footing around trying to "please" the world, when we should be unleashing the full overwhelming wrath of the United States Military on these guys. Theres the enemy… Go and get 'em!

  31. jwjcc1 says:

Close Gitmo? Ha!!! BHO cant even figure out how to close Joe Biden's Mouth. He clearly made lofty promises of what he would do once elected, however not actually having a comprehensive exit strategy; has decided to leave the war policies of President Bush in place. By doing so, he can spin the blame squarely on the shoulders of the previous administration if and when we are attacked again. He shot his mouth off about what he would do when he was President, but it is obvious he is not ready to fully take off the training wheels. He needs G.W. Bush to blame if something goes wrong, and it is obvious his decisions aren't related to the safety of the nation, or the interrogation memos wouldn't have been released to make the United States appear evil in the eyes of the world. I guess thats how they do it in Chicago.

  32. PirateNPink says:

HAH! Hope this is another promise he can't keep.

  33. emeraude says:

think i might have to send an email to senator mccain to ask him to please keep them in arizona – maybe sheriff joe's tent city – i sure as heck don't want them in my backyard in leavenworth.

    • americanj says:

Obama does have a house in Chicago that he is currently not using and he won't be using it at least until 2013. Sounds like a perfect place to me. It is a nice neighborhood in Hide Park. Obama can practice some of what he preaches in spreading the wealth.

    • ricks1675mba says:

Sheriff Joe is about the only one in the US that I would trust with these monsters. There would be no special meals, prayer time, clothing. Does bolongna contain pork? Ooh that would be good. Also, if they escape they will die in the desert.

    • madmommy09 says:

I hope that you meant this as a joke,… but……

……""It's 120 degrees in Iraq and the soldiers are living in tents, have to wear full body armor, and they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your mouths." – Sheriff Joe Arpaio

I gotta agree with Joe here. Maybe you just didnt know the living conditions of our troops as compared to the living conditions of convicted criminals in Arizona? Or maybe you just dont like pink underwear?

      • emeraude says:

i'm just being snide….. my mother lives in sun city and i wouldn't really want them there either….but i'm serious about not wanting them here! BO has found that it is much harder to govern than to campaign. he pandered to every group while campaigning but never really cared whether he could effectively deliver – he's just all about looking cool

  34. Terlizzi999 says:

Stop the presses….you mean you cant just open the doors and let all those "poor" terrorists just out into the free world…my gosh this is a predictament. This is only a temp fix at best…and will continue later on…only thing that makes me smile and give a few chuckles is the hyper-left must be goting nutz…least for now…hey its the little things in life that keeps me sane.

Side note…releasing any of the detainees freely into the US is a violation of federal law (any member of any group currently on the State Department terrorist list cant be for whatever reason allowed to enter US soil) should be intresting to see Obama sidestep that issue if and when he intends to release any of them into the US with a nice fat government check..

    • TODIEFOR says:

when that day come's, thay could make alot of money selling special hunting permit's! Ofcouse some may just poach!

  35. fastfacts says:

I'm sorry but was this a surprise. No one was going to take Gitmo Prisoners except for our real allies and partner super power, Great Britian. Even when Obama began to talk about it he was still very hesitant.
Off the subject but where are the articles link from on this website. I have not been able to read the article before I write my thoughts down here. I keep having to go to http://www.americanparchment.com and read the article and then return to this page to write my thoughts, can someone help me find the link?

    • fastfacts, Under the heading at the top of the page you will see two red-white & blue buttons that say, "Read Lead", click in that area and it will open up the article.

  36. detestObama says:

One of the first offcial duties of the Obama group was, Is to announce the closing of GITMO. Obama had no plan of what to do with the prisoners, he just said close GITMO! What an Idiot!
Now his hench men are begging other countries to take at least one of the prisoners, as in Germany's case, they don't want any, and other
countries as well don't want them! These prisoner' are destined to come to the USA, and of course, because we ars compassionate people will be released into society. These prisoners, may I remind you, are Radical Islamic terrorists. We have at least 35 islamic groups training inside the USA to do major damage to Americans.
They have up to 70 acre compounds across America to do their training, and moslems are recruting radicals to join. What part of closing GITMO makes sense? Nothing!!!! Just another campaign promise!

  37. Does anyone remember Jimmy Carter publishing his campaign promises at an attempt at transparency? And the muliple failures of his administration?

Obama made Gitmo a symbol of all that was wrong with America and the Bush Administration, but now can't seem to follow up with anything different. Couple this with the military tribunals being turned back on – as required by the Geneve Convention for these detainees and NOT civil courts, it mkaes oyu wonder how such a smart man, such a scholar of the Constitution missed all of this?

Pure politics, playing to the mob, wil get you into trouble- as the mob expects you to do their bidding. I wonder what the foaming-at-the-mouth extreme leftitst are doing right now? Rationalizing all of this? Justifying Obama's inability to meet his commitments?

  38. Did we not see this comming this Administration gose off half baked in every thing they need to slow down and think things threw maby by the end of his frist term they will learn to slow down cook the plan all the way befor they try to serve it.Rookies

    The CIA'S Fight with Obama.
Has Barack Obama made an enemy who can sabotage his Presidency?

    • Tntsgram says:

Darn, forgot about the CIA; if anybody can find out about BO's birth certificate, those are the folks that can and will do it. BO crapped on the wrong agency me thinks.

      {{{sigh of relief}}}

      • Apparently Obama doesn't read Tom Clancy. They got toys, and they know how to use them. I patiently await the NextGen "Deep Throat" dropping dox on the Obamanation. I will dance jig in the street!

  40. Ashrak says:

Obama releases interrogation memos and information about GITMO but refuses to allow release of the pictures taken while buzzing Manhattan and scaring a whole bunch of people?

Blunder number 256670971 of the Obama administration.

  41. bawnyfwank says:

You mean to tell me that the greatest President and the greatest administration of all American history made a decision without thinking about the consequences or having a plan. NO!

  42. GodHelpUsAll says:

Why the parachutes………. just kick them off the plane. : )

  43. Miss Kiff says:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio (AZ) has vacancies at his TENT CITY!!

  44. Stopthemusic says:

House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rep. David Obey told reporters.

"So far as we can tell, there is yet no concrete program for that," said Obey, D-Wisconsin. "And while I don't mind defending a concrete program, I'm not much interested in wasting my energy defending a theoretical program. So when they have a plan, they're welcome to come back and talk to us about it."

"concrete program" ?? sand "concrete program"

  45. Stopthemusic says:

and they wonder why Americans are arming themselves?

  46. Jaggers says:

Here is my theory on the true objectives of the Obama administration…

Hold multiple press conferences where the president himself announces something that accomplishes at least one of the following things: 1) Demonizes rich people who make their money legally, 2) Reverses a controversial Bush policy, and 3) announces a new program that will take care of everyone.

All of his worshipers hail his wise decisive actions then they sit back with a bowl of nachos to watch American Idol without ever realizing the man had no real plan to accomplish anything except to take money from someone else to pay for it. They vote him in again, meanwhile government gets bigger with greater control and even his followers lose more of their liberty.

    • Shadrach says:

It's like being at a football game and your team is behind by three touchdowns with less that two minutes to play. But you keep cheering them on because that's what everybody else is doing, you don't want to be the only one not cheering because it would make you look like you don't love your team, it's a facade. That's the Dems. The bad thing here is each quarter last one year and we're in the opening minutes of the game, down by three trillion points and our team is falling apart!! The other team is well funded and well equipped and has strong players, their coach knows how to play as long as he has his playbook and assistant coaches. They just don't have any common sense and they win by cheating. They use every dirty trick in the book and when it's over the coach says, we won!!

  47. Jaggers says:

Here is my hypothesis on the true objectives of the Obama administration…

  48. Vindex22 says:

what happened, did someone finally tell BHO that GITMO is not exactly holding members of the boy scouts?

even their own countries don't want them….. tag them with a computer chip and leave them on the battleground they were captured on… see where they go.

  49. Prepared1 says:

Isn't this the same type of thing they jumped Bush for? Not having a strategy? Screw the details, just open your mouth without knowing what the heck you're talking about pay homage to the fools that elected you. Where are the people that lead and don't bow to the pressure of the quid pro quo?

  50. SecretPolice says:

Open GITMO – Close the borders.

  51. detestObama says:

  52. Ashrak says:

Obama is finding out that there really ARE very evil people held at GITMO and that they are there because there is no "better" way to handle them – which is why Bush put them there in the first place.

I would offer that Obama and crew are finally figuring out that this country really is at WAR.

    • I hope you are correct and the outcome is relatively benign. I would assume that the administration is looking for some benefit in using the situation either as another smoke screen or just a posturing tool.

    • TODIEFOR says:

Obama is not learning anything! He's just looking for another way to teach us America lover's a lesson on how to do thing's the right way! You know his way, Obama will show us how it's done! Just wait, and remember, YES HE CAN!!!!

  53. TXTJ says:

Anyone else notice the "millions" and "billions" floating around like dust particles in air. Yet is it enough to pay off who ever is willing to sign on to take these terrorists. If they move the detainees to a state in the US, or even on foreign soil to an accepting country and an attack occurs "failure to protect" will be charged, the "blame Bush" rhetoric is over, done. These detainees are more dangerous than anyone can imagine. Their faith has not deminished while incarcerated. Their goal to kill we infadels has not swayed. It's not the money Congress is worried about, it is the fact that these people are terrorists and the Commander-In Chief (ugh!) has attempted to downplay such. I would think that congress would be scared out of their minds. Maybe some of them got a look at those files and a lightbulb went off.

  54. I knew it. The whole closing Gitmo thing was all just political posturing. The left must be in an uproar over this! We don't want them, Europe doesn't want them, leave them in Gitmo! These guys are getting comfortable conditions, 3 hots and a cot, prayer rugs, blah blah blah. Why don't we just kill these guys on the battlefield? If they had the opportunity to cut off some Gitmo guards head, they would do it with pleasure!

  55. Rogers_Sense says:

Gee have a plan what a novel Idea, Can you hear them OBAMA GET A PLAN! you big chicken! Another words the congress isnt gonna take these dregs! the Same Goes for Healthcare GET A PLAN before you ask for money to pay for it,

NO PLAN OBAMA, NO CLUE OBAMA, KNOW OBAMA!

  56. roxym says:

San Francisco is a "sanctuary city"……send them there…….the mayor and Nancy Pelosi will make sure they are taken care of…..

  57. TMGallagher says:

CONGRESS WANTS A PLAN?????? What a novel idea. A plan BEFORE they do something. TOTUS does not appear to have a plan for anything before he acts nor does he think about the ramifications of many of his, so called, "plans." 've never felt so uneasy with an administration. These Jackasses are out of control and are dangerous for this country.

    • TexasRedneck says:

These people are dangerous and out of control. Pelosie and Ried were so excited during the campaign and agreed with President Obama about the closure of Gitmo. Now neither one wants to deal with the detainees. I wish that there was some way that they could be forced to take the detainees and make their states pay for everything. Oh, I forgot, California is budget poor. I don't want those people in my neighborhood and I don't think anyone else wants them. They were in camps when captured. Doesn't that mean they were in training to do us harm. Futhermore, I don't care about interrogation or waterboarding. I know that we have been safe the last 8 years. That interrogation has foiled a couple of acts of terrorism and I am not talking about LA or NY. No one is talking about the oil refineries in Texas.

      • TMGallagher says:

…I agree about waterboarding. I had to laugh at Jon Stewart when he called Harry Truman a "war criminal" and had to come out and apologize because he knew it was an idiotic comment. But, the argument remains…if he does not believe Harry Truman to be a war criminal for ordering the A-Bomb dropped and killing over 1/2 million people…why is Bush a war criminal for ordering WATERBOARDING of a few terrorists? The comparison definitely shows how out of touch the left really is!

Here is the clip of Jon Stewart saying Harry Truman was a war criminal… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tF4pV27_7PI

  58. rcalogeroglo says:

Just like I thought, Gitmo is all about money for the Democrats….A how to make kind!!! When it comes to the security of our nation, the Democrats are more concerned about the money then they are the security!!!

  59. For goodness sake, if Obama feels so strongly to close this place, then just send them back from where they caught them in the first place with an apology, of course! We must be "nice" and would save us a lot of money and make us "look" so good to other countries. LOL

  60. htrn says:

Let me get this straight. The congressmen believe that we can't do any good in Pakistan or Afghanistan but they want to go there anyway? Here's one statement that stood out to me from this article:

Obey said he was "very doubtful" that Obama's policies in those two countries would succeed, "but there's a consensus in the Congress to try it."

I hate to quote Yoda since he is so over-quoted in so many forums, but we must "Do, or do not. THERE IS NO TRY". It is a slap in the face of our serving men and women in the military to just try something. We must go in with the intention to WIN or we will LOOSE. This is one of my biggest beefs with the liberal agenda. Everything is a "try", which is why EVERY ONE OF THEIR POLICIES FAIL! The only thing they are in it to win is where they would have perceived power. When they get to that point, they just don't care enough to win.

    • nomoretea says:

Our fearful leaders in D.C. have no idea what they are doing. They won't get their hands out of everything long enough to allow the people with the true intelligence to take over. Sadly, they think they ARE the intelligent ones. And even where there is intelligence, it's no guarantee of common sense.

Dare I say, we should have learned a battlefield lesson from Iraq, prior to the surge. Don't play around. If there's an enemy–go in with overwhelming force and get the job done. The Taliban are formidable foes and know their terrain well. Don't pussyfoot around over there. (Can someone get Obama a copy of "The Lone Survivor"??)

Goodness, the next three and a half years can't go by fast enough.

You said it!! We either kick butt or we get our butt kicked. But I like the first one.

    • ricks1675mba says:

The problem lies in that we think that surgical strikes can win a war. That is only a tactic not a strategy. We should have learned in WWII that if they are willing to die to their last man then we must be willing to kill them to their last man. You win the war before you worry about how they "feel' about us.

  61. opinionist says:

Time for an actual plan on Gitmo, Health Care, Green Jobs, and Economic Recovery? Is it possible that congress regrets not thinking before they acted? Oh yeah, it was an "emergency".

  62. Minuteman79 says:

What what what? Gitmo is not actually closed? Who saw that comming? I mean, I thought our prez said…Oh that's right, he says one thing, and does something completely different.

  63. Gregory says:

I can't believe Obama will crayfish on this. It's easy to promise everything to everyone when you have no idea what you are talking about. We have no time for OJT, yet that is exactly what we are getting. Perhaps Obama can send a video message to other countries begging for them to take terrorists into their midst's. Or, maybe we can just leave them at GITMO. Duhhh.

  64. Gregory says:

Gun sales are booming. Why would S&W even be approached by the feds? I will wait for the NRA to make a statement on this before believing it.

  65. Boojer says:

We should adopt those dirt poor farmers, as someone on this site labeled them, Put them on a bus, and send them to San Francisco. Nancy would be so proud. I figure it would cost $15,000 to $20,000.

  66. Dustyluv says:

I will take one of the prisoners off their hands for free. I wont charge the Feds a nickle to guard him.
I will not waterboard him. I have a dirty toilet I can use…

  67. Torquemada9 says:

I suggest we start a new program- " Adopt A Jihadist". To qualify you must be a liberal Obama supporter with a spare room and an "open mind". The government can subsidize the adopting families with the money saved from closing that big, nasty Gitmo. This would be the "humane" thing to do.

  68. Boopster says:

Dems could not support it! Cost $80 million.

So why not add, an additional cost $400. Million for the drug war and those surveillance helicopters for Mexico., funds to assist the Pakistan government . Compliments of course by the American taxpayers.

  69. suthin_man says:

Osama Obama, go to youtube and check out the interview where he says"John McCain has not talked about my Muslim Faith." They have tryed to paint this in a different light but I see him admiting what we all with common sense knew.

  70. Tandab says:

His Campaign promises regarding GITMO were indicative of an inexperienced, naive and completely unimformed politician. Now he is responsible and can't live up to his own campaign stumping promises. Wonder how this will be spun by the spinmasters now?

  71. Texan2 says:

Hey Obama, I've got an idea that will not only free your precious Gitmo reprobates but ALSO save John Q. Public 80 million…..stick 'em all on a leaky boat in the middle of the Pacific with directions towards Mecca.

  72. FreeFlight says:

I could be wrong, would not be the first time, just read some of my other posts. But, could the Congress be running interference for Obama? He put his foot in his mouth about closing Gitmo and now that the time has come to put up or shut up, he can blame the Congress for blocking the closing. I think that he has found out that you need to be more careful what you say on the campaign trail because people actually listen and note what you have to say.

He still does not understand what should be done. We are not torturing them and holding them during hostilities is perfectly acceptable under the conventions. So why is he so hot to let these people go?

    • DenaBling says:

Why is he so hot to let these people go? You already answered your own question. It was a campaign promise and life could get difficult for him if he doesn't produce the results his people want. Also, these people do not consider the War on Terror a valid operation, so your comment about holding them during hostilities doesn't apply to them and their goals. They live in a different world than you and I.

    • Jerseygal says:

You have printed my thoughts! I think this action gave Obama his first reality check. On the campaign trail, speeches about closing Gitmo generated standing ovations. As president, announcement to close Gitmo generated questions, like what will you do with them. It generated questions that should have been asked in the debates.

Anyway, there is this million dollar mansion in Hyde Park, Chicago, that could house them. After all, its owner is temporarily living in DC. They should be welcomed into that neighborhood by Ayers, Wright, Rezko, Farrakhan, etc.

    • Tntsgram says:

They are fellow Muslims, doesn't matter to him that they are radical terrorists.

  73. mwb1951 says:

Democrats wanting a concrete plan BEFORE handing the President a check? Whoa. That IS news. Is common sense seeping into the Congress? Oh. Wait. No. That's not possible. Is it? It's actually refreshing to see a Democrat not handing the President a blank check, patting him on the back and complimenting him. We need to keep an eye on this one. There's gotta be a hitch, right?

  74. I am not surprised at all this happened. When Obama didn't know what the "innocent" men in Guantanamo were guilty of it was easy to claim he would close it as soon as he came to office. When he came into office and saw the bilge which inhabited the island paradise he still wanted to close the base itself, but keep the flotsam from coming to America. He added a few stipulations to the bill he signed that allowed him some outs if he needed it. Now his friends on the left are demanding they come and live in America on the taxpayers dime. The irony of the Left attacking Obama because he isn't left enough is just plain funny.

The one thing I know about Obama is that he is a slick politician. He knows that if he releases even one terrorist into America the consequences would be dire. I think it is probable that he made a quick call to David Obey and asked a favor. Now Obama can look great no matter what he does. He can tell his base that he tried, and he can tell the right that he stopped because he wanted to rethink it. Will it work? Highly doubtful.

  75. Smarkin says:

Well, this should help. It will keep us a little safer for a little longer and really tick off all the voters who supported Obama and company, particularly on this issue. Also read yesterday :

"The Obama administration is moving toward reviving the military commission system for prosecuting Guantánamo detainees, which was a target of critics during the Bush administration, including Mr. Obama himself……..
Continuing the military commissions in any form would probably prompt sharp criticism from human rights groups as well as some of Mr. Obama’s political allies because the troubled system became an emblem of the effort to use Guantánamo to avoid the American legal system. "

Now, THAT, will really make some of them mad. Maybe they will all wake up and realize that his promises do not mean a thing. This is one I am very glad he hasn't kept!

  76. NUTN2SAY says:

My wife and I were talking about this closing of Gitmo by Omommabama. Some people like myself think this guy is a closet Muslim. It occurred and I wondered since many liberals think of him as godlike is it possible that this guy at times before bed and in private, stands tall in the white house somewhere and does a Charlton Heston version of those words…."Let My People Go!"

  77. RWE says:

What a joke!! Since when has congress worried about spending too much money. Just a smoke screen to back up because they don't have a plan for relocating these killers, and they know the American people will not stand for turning terrorists loose in the United States.
Once again they think we are a bunch of idiots, they think they can tell us BS stories and we will believe it. Tell us the truth one time and just to see how that works.

  78. suthin_man says:

What's wrong Bama? Find out that those poor detainees were a little more dangerous than you thought? How about leading the nation by accepting a few of those tortured souls into the White House. I'm sure after the wife outfits them with $500 sneakers they'll reform!!

  79. Tntsgram says:

Me and my cane will be dancing (ummmm scuffling) a jig right along with you.
