Damn…. and swine flu seemed to have so much potential for creating hysteria thus allowing the government to expand their powers too (not to mention the potential for squeezing some more foreign aid out of America for Mexico). But someone had to go suggest that since the flu was mainly in Mexico, sealing the borders might help contain the flu. Well, we cannot be having THAT idea catching on, so it is time for the feds to start dialing down the panic level some.
All of these folks coming back from Mexico with diahrea, fever, vomiting… swine flu huh? We used to call it Montezumas Revenge. There is a reason they warn you not to drink the water.
I have an issue with this flu scam, I click on a state and it comes up with "one confirmed case" case recently returned from a visit to Mexico, nearly every state has ONE. So, if EACH ONE, from each of these states (not counting Texas, New york ,any others with multiple cases) actually caught the flu while in Mexico, shouldn't the entire country of Mexico be sick with this flu. All of these ONE cases from each of multiple states visited separate areas of Mexico, yet all contracted it. And this deal about a guy in Canada infecting 220 pigs, come on. I think this will turn into a real pan-demic and rival the 1918 Spanish Flu, because that is what this Administration needs is to eliminate about two-three million of us to say he opened up that many jobs. But it won't be called "release of spliced flu-AKA swine flu" it will be called "stimulus plan".
I am surprised that Janet Neapolitano (who is ever so accurate and up to date with her timely statements….. Sarcasm) has not announced to the world that the cause of swine flu is returning war veterans. And that theis Administration has not publicly apologized for it yet. I mean They blame the USA for everything else, why not this as well.

The people at History channel sure know how to pick a line up. Last night they had three different shows on related to pandemics, the black death. One interesting point was that during the flu outbreak in 1918 the first season of it was not that bad. It was not until our troops went over to Europe in WW1 that the flu took off in it's second season. Hopefully this flu does not come back in the winter nastier than it is now.

Don't be distracted. Its our Constitution that they are killing and our way of life. We need to stay focused on that one issue so they can't water down our effort. Guns will be next on their list. They can't afford to put that off any longer.
I’m not saying there’s nothing to worry about with this “Swine Flu” but this strain is obviously not to be overly concerned with. The REAL concern I have is that this is going to be “BIG GOVT’s” way of promoting/engaging Universal Healthcare. I can already hear Obama's teleprompter telling us "This Pandemic could have been prevented if we had Universal Healthcare in place to treat every person who steps onto US soil". You just wait and see, It's coming!

After looking at the numbers world wide this is not pandemic, it is however a pandemic of motor mouth, progressives who want to pull the wool over our eyes with the Washington two-step, and want everyone to have health care, you know like we have in the VA where veterans go to die from lack of health care they provide. When my day gets near and time is up I will go into the woods where I will feed the bears from my dead carcus rather than go to a VA hospital again. I went through the stench of urine, bed pans on the floors with people dying all around me in a combat hospital, and came home to see brother vets who could not feed themselves have their food put in front of them yet they could not lift their arms while the lazy no good low entry staff sat on their fat butts and did nothing.
I am genuinely sorry that America let you down. While not personally responsible I am saddened that any vet of any war would ever be treated as anything other than a hero.
I have several sons in the military and have watched them experience getting service or getting a lack of service from horrible employees who know they cannot be fired. It's worse than terrible.

While there have been a few moments of emotional stress, usually inspired by someone mis-speaking (are you withe me here, Joe), it seems the only true over reaction is that of Egypt, where there is about to be a national bar b-que.

In the Jim Garrison videos about the JFK assination another current day name came up. It seems Arlen Specter was an aide for the Warren Commission and it credited with the "Magic Bullet" theory, that is the bullet entered JFK went thru Gov. Connoly and some how fell out when the Gov was in the hospital. Seems like Arlen has been up to no good for a long time.
I read the Garrison book but it's been many years ago. Maybe I need to pull it out again. Robert Tanenbaum, an author who was on the Senate Assassinations committee back then, wrote a book called "Corruption of Blood." It was fiction mixed with a lot of truth that he knew. In the forward, he says that the Warren Report was the biggest piece of fiction in the 20th century.(ad libbed because I don't have the book in front of me, but that's the gist of it)

I hope folks will pardon me if I don't put too much stock in what Mexican government officials say. I mean, hey, they have presided over a government that allows (encourages) policies to remain in place that have seen it's own people flee by the millions. They allow (encourage) juuuuuust enough nationalism to get those who flee to remit millions and millions of US dollars back to Mexico.

Sit at your key boards and say and do nothing other than in here and get the same treatment I get as nationalized health care and watch your kids die while you wait for an appointment. If you want nationalized health care then get a nationalized health insurance policy where you can choose your own doctor and competition still used. In my VA hospital we have a doctor of India descent who had a private practice in the US and killed one of his patience and he was hired by the VA. Got to love our government who used us to defend this country and then forget about us when all is said in done including John traitor McCain who is rich and does not depend on the VA nor has he done anything about the deplorable conditions, or any other democrat or republican.

The other day, my hubby got his Rx filled at the VA and they made a mistake and gave him the wrong meds meant for the wrong patient. I about blew a cork when they wanted US to drive it back to them without any compensation for the gas and time. Now that is nerve! Folks. I just had to wonder, what If I wasn't around and my husband took that medicine without even looking at the bottles (there were three bottles wrong, all put in his bag). That isn't just a little booboo that is a big one.
I understand that anyone can make an error, but they didn't even act concerned. And certainly no incident report was made.

What do we do when we see these illegals crossing the border illegally? It seems like there should be some way to stop them, but since our government doesn't seem to care…..Maybe we can light up a big "WELCOME" sign for each one we see.
One of these days, if it already hasn't happened, a terrorist or two is going to cross with all the "friendly" Mexicans and bring us a biological weapon to remember them by….if they haven't already.
They've already crossed, last year I beleive it was, backpacks with info (very little) were located. They already know they are crossing through here with the normal illegals and meeting up with their assigned cell. We have multiple reasons to close this border a mere two hours from my home, but it won't happen. I have always asked why we have people sitting around on welfare who won't work, but allowing illegals to cross the border to take those jobs is the solution. The real soultion is stop welfare in its tracks, close the border, everyone works and we all speak the same language while doing it and at the same time we can locate the terror cells here in the US and take this country back and upright her from the serious lean we're in.

It is easy to verify. Everyone who dies has to have a medical diagnosis on a death certificate, right? When someone who is 102 and has a 101 degree fever dies, they have to put something down. The true cause of death might be a stroke that cause the brain to malfunction and the temperature regulator in the brain to go on the fritz and so they died. The doc shrugs his shoulders (because he certainly isn't going to get out of bed to write the cause of death in the middle of the night), so he makes out the paperwork the next day and puts FLU on it (probably because it is the easiest to spell and write). As long as no other old folks don't die with 24 hours of the same thing, there is no 'trend'.
And drug companies don't make money off of immunizations. They usually lost money! instead, they'd make 10 times more selling tissues, hand sanitizer and fancy faces masks.The only drug company that will win in a flu epidemic is probably Merck with Tamiflu and GlaxoSmithKline with Relenza. I've never taken either, so I don't know how well they work.
Also, just so you know, BIG Pharm didn't become that way until Medicare and insurance started covering medicine costs and generics became accepted. They all jacked up their costs then. All of the huge increases in costs are due to government intervention and regulation of the markets. If the markets were free to operate with minimal regulation and if pharmacy companies were not getting hauled into court everytime someone gets or takes the wrong med, wrong dose, etc. All the costs would tumble down without a doubt.

I've taken a test like this before and the results indicated I'm more libertarian than anything else. I got the same results with the test you posted.
Cool. So the next question I would ask myself is, "What do I do with that info?'
My personal conclusion is that I can no longer, in good conscience support the Dems or Repubs when I know that neither truly represents what I believe. I'll VOTE republican if the field a libertarian (like ron paul) or I'll vote dem if they field one, but neither party is going to do this.
Foe me personally, going thrid party is the only option.
I tested a centrist but I am no centrist. It is a loaded quiz for specific results but not scientific. In Idaho where I live we are mostly conservative people.
Believe it or not, conservatives believe in the right for free trade among anyone or any country, consensual sex (with or without money), minimal taxation, freedom to put any substance in your body, etc. Our founders who were mainly conservatives believed in personal responsibility and individualism. That means certain activities were frowned upon, but they thought the people should have the freedom and liberty to make their own decisions. Legislating drugs, sex, trade, etc, is not being conservative. The founders wanted government completely out of the citizens lives unless the citizen was infringing on the rights of another citizen. Thats it. Free trade, drugs, sex, taxing, etc, should of had no involvement or infringement according to our founders. Those laws came later by progressives. Remember, Jefferson once said "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."
Now all that Mexico needs to do is deal with it's drug dealer problem and the world will be just "Peachy"!!!

I’ve noticed many posts in the912project.com forum in which participants have expressed concern over the censorship that seems to be happening within the forum. I’ve expressed some concern myself. This has inspired me to write the following.
How to Have Fun with Censorship and Not Go Insane.
First, look for alternative ways to write potentially controversial words or phrases. For example, if you’d like to use the phrase “rat’s a.s.s.”, you could instead use the phrase “Spector’s behind“. Such as, “I don’t give a Spector’s behind what you think.” Or you could say, “I don’t give a Pelosi’s rear end about that”. Simple, but effective. You could also use phrases like, “There is no way in “a fiery biblical place” that anyone will go for that.” I’m sure you get this point, but it isn’t my main point. As Obama would say, “Now wait, hold on, I‘ll catch up with the teleprompter of the U.S. here pretty quick”.
I would never actually attempt to drop the F-bomb in a forum like this, but I’ve done it in a round about way by writing “effing”, as in effing-A-skippy, and I have not been censored for it and no one has complained to me about it. Another way to drop the F-bomb in this forum is to just say, “What the….?” People will know what you mean. You can also say things like, “fecal matter head”, “feces for brains”, “Richard head”, “don’t be such a Richard”, “you are such a feline”, etc.. Of course, no one actually uses the c-word anymore, everyone just says “c-word”, instead. I’m sure you get this point as well, but again it is not my main point. Waiting on T.O.T.U.S…..
Here comes my main point. I wrote the two previous paragraphs to get your attention. My intent is that you understand how absurd the idea of censorship is in a forum like this. Yes, there is something strange about getting moderated for using the word associated with the following definition on this website: “a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole“. I get moderated if I have a post with the word that definition belongs to, but not for posting the definition of the actual word. (Definition courtesy of dictionary.com). T.O.T.U.S told me to give credit to dictionary.com. Waiting on T.O.T.U.S. T.O.T.U.S. just told me that wasn’t my main point.
Ok, now hold on, here is my main point. Even if there really is censorship associated with the912project.com, we have to find a way around it not only here, but anywhere else we encounter censorship. Think about the mainstream media. If the mainstream media is denied the right to tell us the truth, that is censorship. If the mainstream media choose not to tell us the truth, it is censoring itself.
So many of the problems we now face are due to various forms of censorship, whether imposed or voluntary. We are sliding down a slippery slope and picking up momentum.

I actually had some fun with another post, but it seems to have gone to the archives due to high traffic in the comment area.
What I did was to post a comment using a variety of words, and then hit the "Edit" button. Each time, changing or adding a word. Eventually, I found several words that tripped the trigger of the robot. Oh, by the way, it is actually an automated system that scans for certain key words immediately after clicking "Submit".
Here's what I suspect:
The robot being used may actually not be withing the 921 board, but COULD be somehow linked to "IntenseDebate", since they are the ones actually holding the comments.
Also, especially because of the nature of the 912 board, I'm inclined to believe that the blog-masters/forum-gods may not be aware of certain catch-words.
Certainly, profanity will trip the trigger, and I hope it stays that way. The reason I'm convinced that it's just an inadvertent oversight is that the version of a word ending with "IST" is handled differently than the version of the word ending in "ISM".
I believe your proposal pertaining to "getting around" certain trigger-words is appropriate. I am however, of the belief that those filters, other than for profanity and such, are unintentional.

I watched Meet the Press this morning so I could see what the new HSS secretary had to say. She said that the vaccine is being developed for use in the fall as well as the normal fu vaccine. I'd say, if there is anything to this flu, that the fall flu season is troublesome to them. Personally, I don't know what to think. I think it has been an overblown reaction so far, but what do I know?

I disagree with your statement about closing the border. In fact, I think just the opposite would be true. They'd be sending out C-130's to load 'em up and bring 'em over. Besides, if we closed the Mexican border, the rest of the world would probably close ours—forever. Remember we are not the primo nation anymore, Obama and our media has seen to that. The rest of the world is just waiting for any excuse……..
Don't bet on it. Whooping Cough, TB, Malaria, and numerous other diseases have been coming over the border for years. That's one of the main arguments for a fence, but as usual the politicians decided to play politics with it instead of solving the problem.
I personally feel there's more to this flu than meets the eye. Either the vaccine is what is going to kick it into high gear, or it's going to come back in the Fall and really kick butt. What is this virus capable of as it mutates? And if it was a terrorist creation, what makes you think it's going to stay harmless? Maybe I'm being a bit suspicious, but I think there's more to come from this virus. What do you think?
I think (OMG I'm going to say something in support of government!) that if they hadn't "blown this up" like they did, and the virus turned out to be more virulent from the get-go (which it could have been), there'd have been an outcry worse than the outcry over Katrina. And some of that outcry would have been from this site. And it could well gain strength in its next wave. This sucker may not be THE pandemic we've been expecting, but we don't know for sure it won't become so, or when that worst-case scenario mutation will occur. I am very glad to see that it seems to be quite mild. It could have been so much worse. This is surely a whole different world than 1918, but we've done a number on our collective immune systems in the interim, so who can tell what will happen.
I never beleived the hipe but I was curious about the whole B0 handshake thing, I still believe that was the way to get the ball rolling for their government controled heathcare.
You're spot on with this. While I love lampooning liberals and esp this group in DC and their goofiness, they made the correct call on this one. Rather the CDC made the correct call, not the pol's. I know 1st responders in the medical field, esp lung disease; who inform me that this may not be over…this winter may present a much worse scenario.

I read the other day that there was concern of this flu mutating with HIV, but cannot find the article now.
strange how a vaccine is already in the works for H1N1 after it has killed a few hunderd people. HIV /AIDS has killed millions of people around the globe for more than 20 years, people around the world are still dying from it, and there's still no vaccine for HIV/AIDS. there's something wrong with this picture.
No vaccine for cancer, either. I read a book many years ago called \”The Magic Bullet.\” Basic premise is that the cure for cancer has been found, but it means losing \”research money\” so all the people involved ended up dying mysteriously (gee, kinda like all the scientists involved in microbiology that have died or been murdered.) The book is fiction, but I truly believe there is some truth to it.
I've asked myself that question IdahoGhola, many years ago. I followed the libertarian party's Free State Project for a short while but I didn't like the state they picked.
As far as the dems and repubs are concerned, I call them the demrepubs because they are one and the same these days.
I'll make a suggestion to you that I've made to a couple of other 912ers. The conservative republicans need to find a way to unite with Reagan democrats to form a third party. If we could do that, it would create a formidable political force. It would also force the rinos to admit who they are and join the democrats, just like Arlen Spector did.

Because usually 36,000 KIDS don't die from flu. It is almost always old people or people who have multiple other problems and the flu is the last straw.
The bird flu was highly overblown too. Sometimes I think that the government simply enjoys creating a scare sensation in the public. Maybe it makes them feel more powerful or something. Personally, I think there must be something a little wrong with a person who is happiest when they're "lording" it over others.

Gee another "crisis" and panic running out of steam, who would have thought it. Now that everybody has went out bought their masks, got their anti germ soap, and congress confirmed a very pro abortion, tax evading, and other campaign violations governor as the Health secretary, because we "needed" someone in the position, just like we need 19 plus "czars" in the WH. The congress tried to push government health care, prince Harry even said that without health care, not everyone could get vaccinated, problem the vaccine is not and will not be ready for at least a year. Gee maybe BH0 better appoint a "Flu" czar to monitor the flu. We know BH0 appoints "czars" at the drop of a hat, but no one seems to want to mention how much they are being paid. By the way, does anyone know or have any idea how much these "czars" are being paid?
Perhaps we need a Czar Czar to oversee the Czars. No, wait, I guess that would be Obama.
I think we need to start the FFO (Federal Flu Organization) with a flu czar!

I won't go third party because I won't risk flushing my vote down the toilet. However, I agree that the Republicans would be better served if they chose a libertarian. That would make Republicans AND Libertarians happy. I will NOT vote for a Democrat because of the way they've tried to destroy our country and they way they've run over us with Reid, Pelosi, and Obama.
But, as I've said before, I don't think we're going to have much of a voice by the next election.
I just don't buy this one, though I hear it from time-to-time. Because of private research, a cancer that killed 90 percent of kids who had it 15 years ago now has a 90 percent survival rate. Similarly the most common breast cancer survival rate. There is a vaccine for HPV which is a common cause of cervical cancer. True, there hasn't been a whole lot of progress curing lung cancer and a few others. And the life expectancy for those infected with HIV/AIDS is incredibly different than it was 20 years ago.
The book was fiction. Fiction frequently has an element of truth. I choose my conspiracy theories carefully, and this one isn't even in my top 10. Oklahoma City, and TW800 are my top two, JFK is right up there, and I couldn't even name the rest that would come above this one. I probably could if I thought about it for a while.

If you're interested in the JFK conspiracy, you might research Executive Order 11110, which after signing it July 1963, Kennedy would have effectively dis-banned the Federal Reserve, he also requested payback to the American taxpayer for what he felt was theft of the peoples funds. But, he was assinated November 1963 here In Texas. His Brother met the same fate. Anyone curious as to why no one audits or fights the Federal Reserve, the Kennedy bothers stand to this day as a warning to stand down. The Federal Reserve is an ominous entity.

What would McCain be doing differently than Obama right now? This is why voting for a party and not the principles is truly throwing your vote away. You have no voice when you give your vote to anyone with an R or D and they know it. They know that the masses are afraid to think for themselves. I started voting independent and Libertarian in 06 because I was so fed up with the Republicans, and I gotta tell you, I feel better when I sleep at night knowing I now vote for the person who I agreed with the most and not a party. It's not about being afraid that your "side" might lose if you don't vote for your them, it's about voting for the candidate who represents you no matter what their chances are of winning. At least to me thats what its about.
DMN I was a Republican and ran twice for the US Congress as a republican and worked my butt off for the party because I saw the progressive destruction happening on the left from Dems. Now we have progressives in the republican party and I will not even vote because there are no difference between the two. Nothing in the Constitution says WE the democrats or republicans it says: We the people! WE the people better get away from tunnel vision as both parties are seeking to nationalize us and there is a puppet handler behind both parties out of site from you and I. People better wake up. If you think I am making this up look at the conservative supreme court members who voted to take away private land to be turned over to private developers who could increase the tax base.
I should have rephrased that, I mean fiscally because that is all that matters. Our country will bring down itself before any foreign threat, and economic matters are the biggest part of that. He would be buying up banks, the big 3, and homes. Socialism light. I don't think that would be putting our country first. You know by stating "Now, if he would be spending…." that I am right! I can't wait until McCain gets voted out. He is a grifter who has been in the game for over 30 years just like Specter. R I N O out for votes and power.

I believe the people who responded to you are, in fact, the 912 folks. I'm quite sure the problems with certain posts are nothing more than an innocent manifestation of some system configuration. I don't believe your posts have been selectively targeted for the bit-bucket. Sometimes, content-filters just catch the wrong stuff.
This system is a HUGE endeavor and must be an absolute nightmare to manage. Hang in there. I'm sure things will straighten out eventually.
