Why are Green Initiatives being pushed for SO hard RIGHT NOW? The economy! I recently said it before, but
due to this website "downsizing" some comments, the comment got "lost" before it hardly got started.
……… it's Spread the Wealth (with the exception of a select few that Obama picks) HE wants to bring everyone (down or up) to the same monetary level. This is what Ayers & Rev. Wright "taught" Obama. This is what community organizing is about – harass those who HAVE until those who don't have NOW have yours. Unfortunately, THEY believe that YOU owe it to them????
Who's HE bringing down? Big industry, small business owners, the upper to lower class WORKING Americans to name a few.
(Wait & See) HIS "cap" on raising taxes for those making $250,000 or above will NOT offset the cost of HIS "economic plan".
The "agenda" is being carried out very well – Obama gets elected and gets the "stimulus bill" that doesn't REALLY stimulate the economy for years down the road (if then), BUT it gets the people who voted for him "paid back" immediately. But of course, he didn't give them ENOUGH money, so he had to cough up the Omnibus and don't forget the bailouts & "loans" to companies that are going to go bankrupt (so we'll never see those "loans"
paid back that were just made with our money).
This is with the thought that IF the republicans get a majority back in congress after the next election – he can blame them for stopping the "remaining" economic stimulus (but at least he got HIS constituents paid off).
He's filling his cabinet with some of the most liberal people he can find and get passed through (with or without tax evasion problems).
I have no problem "going green", WE just can't afford to do it ALL at once, BUT THAT is exactly why HE wants
to do it all at once! Because WE CAN'T AFFORD IT!
2)By creating this industry we will create Green jobs that the left want but not sacrifice the Capitalist Society. As the industry gets better we can put forth ways of implementation to achieve standards that are reachable and long lasting. This would also be able to be branched out to the rest of the world and help our trade deficit considerably if others would like to be involved in saving the planet. This means we can export this technology to other countries and they would rely on the United States of America, whether or not they want.
wow guy, i dont know if you quite get it. The latest stats i heard were that for every "Green Job" created, you will lose 2 carbon based jobs..Carbon based..hmmm thats what we are!! Most developing countries and China are not going to go green anytime soon, 7 of the best scientist of the top 7 industrialized nations all agree that there is no global warming because of carbon, it is a natural cycle that the earth goes through every so often, I remember back in the mid 70s under penut farmer/president Carter they were talking about global cooling.
The Earth has gone though several ice ages and several warming stages and it will continue to do so.

I conclude that you believe what you have written based on what you hear about GLOBAL WARMING. However please look at what has happened to Spain and its economy because they opted to go for green jobs. They lost 2+ jobs for every 1 green job created. Don't take my word for it, please check it out for yourself. There are plenty of legitimate sites to explain to you that global warming will only benefit certain entities. Follow the money! Please also look at the amount of debt this country is amassing and ask yourself if you really believe that we can afford to lose any more jobs and increase the taxes on every person in the country. Don't forget that our current politicians both Dems & Reps want to legalize all the illegal immigrants to increase their voter base. If Capping emissions is what the left want, then it can be done through a free market capitalist approach. Here's the way that it could be done.
1)Instead of taxing and trading carbon emissions, create a new industry that will have their own Research and Development Department (funded by the stimulus plan). This would keep the free market doing what it does best. The Car companies and coal burning plants in America do what they do best, which is make cars and produce electricity etc…….. They are not in the Emissions industry for a reason. Mandating them to cut their carbon output by a certain number of tons per year or else be fined for it is absurd. Sure let them trade their carbons amongst each other all they want to save money, but it still costs them money that could be used in their area of expertise.
There are no words to propound upon the insanity and ineptitude of the leftists today that are better than their own.

Recall when Obama claimed that taxes would go down for 95% of America? Rasmussen polls say only 20% still believe him, meaning 75% of America knows now it is a lie. Here in California the government is helping retail sales by INCREASING our sales tax 1%. That should help sales, no? Cap and Trade is a huge tax and it is said to help the economy – or is it really in disguise a money maker for Obama pals? Note that the private fortune of Al Gore the genius of global warming has grown from $2 million to $100 million. Note that Jeffrey Immelt who owns GE who owns NBC and MSNBC is deep in the tank for Obama while GE stock has fallen almost a factor of four and NBC ratings fall. Could it be that he is being nice to his pal Obama since he might get a lucrative global warming wind turbine award that makes him rich? The bottom line is that some are getting richer and some of us are getting poorer as Obama redistributres wealth to his friends and those who voted for him.

What bothers me is that Congress would not allow dissenting opinions or view to be presented. Why? Are you SO afraid of the truth that you can't abide having it shown to you? Are you SO intent on SCREWING the American people that you'll just discuss it openly but not allow ANY dissent? That's NOT America, that's oppressive Gov't.
Global warming theorists such as the libs in congress and Al Gore are afraid to debate. I say it is because climate change (weather) is the religion of the progressives and liberals and that it is based more on faith and desire than logic and data. That is why Al Gore and James Hansen declare that the debate is over and the science is settled. The unfortunate thing is that for this religion if you don't concur than you are a denier and there is no tolerance. Also, the plan is to make all non-believers and the believers pay a tithe in the form of a carbon tax. This is more onerous than most organized religion today, except for the radical Islamists.

Is it just me or are these guys just deciding on how to best raise our taxes for something we simply do not want? Are they not aware that people are watching them or do they think we're too stupid to understand what they are doing to us, or maybe they just don't care?
I can tell you that calling your State Rep is a good start. I have been calling different reps from my State in DC and politely telling them that I represent citizens against Cap and Trade, Health care reform, and hoping that they would strongly oppose. Just keep flooding those phone lines until we can make our votes!
Where do you live. Here in Washington State they both just ignore your calls and if you email them, they send out a canned response. I seriously doubt either Cantwell or Murray or Smith pays any attention to anyone that doesn't buy into their liberal nutty belief system.

I do live in WA State. Jay Inslee is supposedly pushing for Cap and Trade. Murray truly believes in Global Warming. I always go by "squeaky wheel gets the oil". If calling constantly or sending faxes doesn't get anything done, at least it's a signal to them that people are starting to wake up to their greedy antics. What is the Rush to Green Energy? Can I say one thing? Why is the Democrat methodology to use punishment as a means to move progress along? Why not use the carrot instead! Tax credits, rewards for green energy but dont punish the other industries once green energy is workable it should be cheaper than the current methods. We are not close now, it takes time and PATIENCE! These energies need to be proven so the country doesn't collapse, collapse leads to wars and wars are the worst things for the environment! CAP and Trade is nothing less than the Government taking over control of the Energy industry.
Cap and Trade will hurt those least able to afford it. Right now we don't have infrastructure to support "Green Energy". It seems strange to me that they are making such a fuss over the very gas that trees use to grow and produce oxygen for their argument to make the change.
The yellow pollution seen in the summer months is not a gas, it is pollen. The greenies keep encouraging us to plant more trees. Hybrid trees produce twice the pollen of natural growth trees.

The breathing problems people experience this time of year is due to high pollen counts, not Carbon Dioxide.

Beyond the individual's increase in energy costs, oh, but remember, it won't really cost anything more cuz you'll just use less (tell that to your refrigerator); there are the increased costs to what business and industry is left in this country. Most industries will be able to pass these costs on to the consumer. I have a real fear that what we are seeing is an attempt to destroy American agriculture as we know it. Farmers don't pass on their increased costs of production, they have to absorb them. become even more effecient. American farmers used to be the envy of the world; they fed the world. Now we have people blaming much of "climate change" on agriculture from farting cows to turning of the soil, to obseity. Ask yourself what will happen if the independent American farmer is driven out of business. Who do you want controling the food production in this country? Watch how much anti-agriculture is coming down the pike.

Before anybody gets their knickers twisted, I have an SUV, American built, German engineered, 100% recyclable, tires are inflated because I know how to do my own maintenance and don't mind changing my own oil either. Every vehicle I've ever owned was driven well past 250, 000 mile, one of them to 475,000.
The government adds NO VALUE to the change over from one energy technology to another. They just get in the way.
If they were to give a tax free status to any energy technology that would be "emissions free" for a period of 20 years, you would be amazed at how quickly the capital would be applied to the task.

Now you probably think I don't care about the environment because I don't want this new tax program and you would be wrong. I do want clean air just as much as the next person. What I don't want is another stupid government program that will not work. What won't work? It will not.
A company that creates a lot of pollution just needs to have enough money to pay for more polluting credits to be within their limits. This means instead of the company using their cash to buy or use less polluting methods of production, they just keep on polluting. Now that is something I want.
Here is the solution. If we want these companies to stop polluting or to adopt cleaner modes of production, we need to set standards. These standards need to have severe fines if not met as well as reasonable time-lines for completion. These standards need to be set by scientist not law makers. We can leave the fines to the legislators and use the EPA to determine if and when the companies have complied.
Everyone wins. The environmentalist get their CO2 reduction, lawmakers feel good that they made the scary corporation comply, and all Americans avoid a new tax. I do realize for some Americans the price for some of their products may go up during the transition, however, if you don't like paying a higher price you can move. That's right, don't call yourself a victim, do something, take action.

Dingell is part of the embarrassment we have in Michigan. Levin, Stabenow, Conyers, etc., I know stop laughing. My home state has been continuosly putting Democrats in office for years and years. They are too dumb to notice they have done nothing to help Michigan. Our state is in the tank. All our Canadian governor can come up with is tax breaks for movie production companies who film in Michgan. The problem is that our state is embedded with union special interests. These are reasons why I am moving from Michigan.

What really bothers me is Henry Waxman who says it will only cost Ameicans .18 a day.. $6+_ billion a year…he must have gone to the Congress School of Sham Accounting. I was quite disturbed and frustrated that Lord Monckton wasn't able to testify and have an open and honest debate with Gore in front of Congress… I mean, Congress is going to take Gore's "expert" advice, and then try to create some sort of legislation and tax scheme, so why would we want an open and honest debate?

Don't think this is arrogance, just an observation! I made a post a few days ago offering up a real researched solution for health care. It received 2 replies, yet a knucklehead liberal like "chuckflynn" makes a post criticizing conservatives and it gets 133 replies. If we continue reacting with mere emotion we are destined to fail. If we can't offer real solutions then we will get what we are getting. In 1994 Newt offered solutions but we didn't get behind him in the right way. All he guarenteed us was they would vote on the solutions. Of course they nearly all failed. The solutions need to come from us and then we find candidates that will support those solutions.
I remember several years ago when our school board here in Cleveland was corrupt. The mayor put forth an entire slate of candidates to replace the entire board, instead of going after each incumbant individually. We have the Tea Party organizers form a commitee in that state to interview anyone in that state that wants to run for the senate. That commitee chooses the top five candidates that will honestly support the principles and values of the people. Then we ask Glenn, Rush, Sean, Laura, Newt and Anne to interview the 165 choices and pick the 33 candidates Then we demand that the republican party run these candidates as a slate in the various primaries. If they won't then we run them as independents in the primaries. There would be tremendous publicity for this approach and we would become a dominate voting block. This is how we take our country back. Your thoughts please.
We need younger faces in the congess and senate. I am 65 and although I am pretty alert for about 5 hours out of the day, I start to slow down shortly after lunch. I think our biggest problem is we have way too many people who have accrued way too much power still holding high offices. It is time to build a thrid party with smart young savvy people and send them to take over. We need to fire every single sitting Senator and Congressman//woman.

The only way to change this is to become a voting block then only elect people that have principles and values. It just doesn't matter what party is in charge. Don't think this is arrogance, just an observation! I made a post a few days ago offering up a real researched solution for health care. It received 2 replies, yet a knucklehead liberal like "chuckflynn" makes a post criticizing conservatives and it gets 133 replies. If we continue reacting with mere emotion we are destined to fail. If we can't offer real solutions then we will get what we are getting. In 1994 Newt offered solutions but we didn't get behind him in the right way. All he guarenteed us was they would vote on the solutions. Of course they nearly all failed. The solutions need to come from us and then we find candidates that will support those solutions.

Cap N Trade will adversely affect the elderly and those on set incomes. If this passes expect to read daily of the death of Americans who are either freezing to death or overcome with heat exhaustion. Not to mention working Americans who would be paying over 50% of their earned wages to the Government, in taxes, before inflation on very other product and staple we use.
I agree these people in government do not take into account the elderly in their plans. These poor people have fixed incomes and dont need change. Even if there is a rebate the elderly wont realize it they just see what is on their bill if the heat bill is now $300 they will cut back and possibly freeze to death! look at the prescription drug mess all that did was confuse the elderly. We are arrogant to believe that if a person of 40 years old can understand the change then a person of 80 should be able to understand, NO they dont! People will freeze to death and it will be on congresses head and Obama's! oh yeah im 47…incase you think im a 80 year old crank…lol

The fact that he got the NOBEL prize was the biggest shame for science I have ever seen, and a huge disgrace to my profession and colleagues. ESPECIALLY, when the lady who was also in the running was much more worthy. The story is that this lady living in Germany or Poland (I forget which) at the beginning of WWII was hiding and helping to get jewish children out of the country so they didn't get sent to concentration camps. Eventually she was found out and sent to one herself. But not before keeping a log of every child she help save and who their parents and family were and burying that in her back yard. After WWII she returned to what used to be her home. Snuck into the back yard (because the Nazis sold the property to someone else) and dug up the notebook. Since then she has spent her life finding these children and uniting them with their families, by herself and not asking for a penny in return.

What version is he talking about? He just said "every" attempt has failed, their is no best failure. Thats why we call them failures.
