LOL…I suppose I am guilty of picking up some of the teen language, having lived with one since 1987 (my kids are 34, 23, 18, and 7) And I still have a few more years to go!
I will pass on buying it thru Newt's site. I may look for it on e-bay, though. I think Newt will be a definite force for good when the next elections roll around, but I do not think of him as a viable candidate. His energies and talents would be better served advancing the right candidates.
Check for the Reagan Library website, I get updates from them periodically, but haven't lately.

On 04-27-09, I watched the statists CBS news. How interesting. It seems as though they have figured out that the top three CEO's of AIG might have been involved in illegal acts which led to the the fall of AIG. Well GOOOLLLY you morons, the rest of us kind of had our suspicions before the bailout. Gee, maybe that's why us smart Americans didn't want Obama and the other pinheads to use OUR money to bail them out! Gee, maybe they should have done this investigation before they bailed them out with OUR money. Maybe they should have frozen the CEO's assets and liquidated their assets, after the investigation was completed and bailed AIG out themselves. But no, just give them more money, OUR money. It was funny to watch Katie Couric (act) surprised that this could have happened, with her quizzical tone. She would make a great actress. After all she thinks Obama is wonderful just like the rest of the dung in Hollywood that really does'nt know what it's like to WORK for a living.

Your so right and I'm sorry I don't have the answers to any of your questions. But a lot of us are thinking the same thing. Their is a big protest taking place against the Media on 5/25 in front of MSLSD orgaanizations are comeing together and I pray it is Hugh, we need to stick it to the Media I think their is even talk about haveing Beck speek wouldn't that be great.

I have been reading the 5000 Year Leap courtesy of Mr. Beck's recommendation. Let's do what Moses did as outlined in Leviticus and this book. I recommend forming community kitchen table meetings (KTMs) in your area. When a group gets over 10, it splits into two groups. Each group selects one leader. The leaders form the next level of 10 where they pick one leader. The cycle then repeats. A common agenda is agreed to prior to the weekly/biweekly meetings and posted on a common site. I will be using http://www.ncfreedom.us in North Carolina. Pick one pending bill in your state and apply pressure to your representatives as one unit. Every person in the group is responsible for recruiting new members and educating friends and colleagues.
Take the national debt of $11.185 trillion and divide it by the number of IRS tax returns filed in 2007. This gives every tax filer a personal share of the national debt that cannot be argued: $98,000. Add in the $50 trillion shortfall for social security and this puts your share at over $500,000. When people tell you that they are too busy working to get involved, explain this fact to them. Then explain to them that the money that are earning now will be worthless in the near future due to hyperinflation.
I have received several responses concerning this post. I am not looking for a leader, I am looking for leadership and direction for all of the groups that have formed. We need to organize so that something can be accomplished other that posting messages on blogs and fighting over who is in control of random, small groups. This is not going to save this country. Where does Obama think he can do anything he wants? A saying in a movie that is out now, where the pres. says "When the President does it, it is not Illigal", is just what is happening here!
Obama has way oversteped his bounds! Now, Obama is contemplateing circumventing the law to keep the Republicans from filibustering his socialized Health care plan, and perhaps his Cap-and-Trade environmental catastrostrophic earth warming fiasco!
Obama is , pure and simple, a Dictator. I am not sure if he is leaning toward Fascism, Communism, or Islamism, but it is one of the three radical forms of of socialist dictatorship!

I've thought about the same thing. What happens if the president fires a CEO and they say, "No." The answer should of course be, "NOTHING happens, N-O-T-H-I-N-G!" The scary thing is that that is apparently NOT the answer. So . . . what is going on that these people feel like they have to obey?
I do think making gov abuses public is the best defense, but is it enough?
I believe big business wants to be in bed with big government. Both entities are all about control. The government wants control over the people and business wants control over the market. The bigger your business the more likely the government will choose it as a winner. When the government wants to put policy into action, it is much easier to call a few CEO's than call 5000 or so small businesses who might not go along with your little plan.
The same holds true if you are a large business. Let's say you are losing market share to other businesses which are better than you when it comes to fulfilling the customers needs, you want expensive regulations and taxes that forces out the little guy because they can't afford the lawyers to fight it. You are able to call the government and demand they help you by giving you money or get special privileges like large government contracts.
I love Capitalism and I know it is the best way of running a market. The problem is that when the government and business get together it only hurts the rest of us. Think about when the railroads or steel industries were run by one man alone. They bludgeoned out the competition by selling things at a loss until the smaller company went out of business then increased the price exponentially. They also used the government as a barrier for both workers rights (yes, back in the 19th and early 20th century unions were desperately needed) I am 100% for regional businesses, but an international conglomerate that holds a monopoly is just as bad as communism because they both stifle competition.

Throw him out of office – he is ineligible to be President under the Constiutional natural born citizen requirement. He wouldn't be impeached, propably arrested, and all of his legislation, orders, etc would be null and void.

What we really need is a "stress test" in Washington. There seriously needs to be an indepth investigation into the Politicians who not only took money from these failing companies but have passed legislations that has aided in the collapse of our economy. If a CEO of a private company can be "ousted" and his work record put on public display so easily we should be able to do the same with the politicians who have effected our economy so poorly as well.
Every company CEO that accepted government money, committed career suicide! It's a shame but true.
But in some cases the CEO had no choice, remember? Paulson told them that they could not leave the meeting unless they signed on the dotted line. You are right that it's a shame. Our government is hell bent on destroying us and it started with the previous administration.

Yes, there was a lot of arm twisting going on but if more of the banks showed some back bone, said, "No", spoke out to the American people about what was going on, things would not have gotten so out of control. Here's a thought…. why don't the damn CEO's of the banks simply band together and stand up and say NO! It's a simple word, only two letters, and not hard to say. What would happen if they did this? What have they got to lose? They're already under the government's thumb. What happens if the banks that want to pay back the money simply do so. Send their CEO's to DC with checks and make it as publci as possible. If the so-called Captains of Industry in this country decided to make a stand what could the government do? They can't fire them all. It's time folks learned to say NO.

Hoefstra has introduced a resolution for an Amendment called the Parental Rights Amendment (he did this a couple of weeks ago). This was all posted here on this forum. So far this bill has 43 co-sponsors. There will be a fight to the death over this one. Parents all over the United States are lining up to fight this battle. Christians, homeschoolers, every one imaginable will fight to the death to be sure the UN Treaty will not be adopted. There is more than this at stake, This would set a precedent. If we adopt on UN Treaty, why not adopt ALL UN Treaties? Hmmmm?
It would be best for EVERYONE reading this to CALL (not fax not e-mail your Congressional Representatives (it's in the House right now) and TELL THEM to PASS that Resolution. It's the Parental Rights Amendment introducted by Hoefstra. They know the one.
Believe me, there are MILLIONS of people in the U.S. who are watching and are ready to FIGHT over this one.

Of course if you stop and think about it, congress has just created a whole new rank of Fannie Mae and Freddie Macs. I'm sure it will soon include requirements that a certain percentage of the new loans made will be to "under served populations" and sub prime borrowers just like the old Fannie and Freddie. All in the name of serving the public good you understand…
I will bet those banks will continue to not quite pass whatever stress test the treasury decides to put them through, just to keep them on the government dole.
This story is just a continuation of the march to creating a new batch of GSE type institutions like Fannie and Freddie. Of course they have to install their own cronies at the top.

I understand your sentiment, but I disagree that we are getting stabbed in the back. We are actually getting what we deserve .We elected this man. He was very straight forward ( as straight forward as any politician can be anyway) about what he would do if elected, and now he is doing it.
He is here for the duration of his term, all we can do is sit and watch until the 2010 elections. If we ( conservative minded people ) don't regain control of congress, or at least get enough Senate seats to hold a filibuster, it will be all but over. Again, we will be getting what we asked for and deserve. My only hope is that the American People learn a lesson from this experience and decide to change course.

Those "stress tests" are just a joke. If there were REAL Stress Tests, they would cause a run on every bank in the United States of America. These people think all Americans are STUPID. At least half of us are not. Guess which half aren't.

Everyone who researched the candidates before the election knew this would happen and voted accordingly. Sadly too many of us just listened to the news media instead of listening to the candidates themselves. There were many videos out there showing the kind of change each wanted. He stated that his intent was to bankrupt the coal industry, form his own security force (already approved), reduce our military, said the Bible is too radical, etc., etc. Educate yourselves people!! Is this really the change you wanted. Now he is going to try and get a treaty passed through the UN that will take away all parental rights to their own children. Yes you read that right. The Clinton's tried this in 1995 but it failed then. People if you don't wake up you are going to be led straight to our doom. Do you really want the International community telling you how to run your own household and hold to rear your children? He said on tv this week that he has only just begun. Scary, huh.

Of all the comments made, not one word about the Constitution. Somebody please show me in the Constitution, particularly Article II where the President has the right to fire a CEO of any private business. The military, yes, but private companies no. I am so d— tired of hearing this coropate greed garbage. It our economical system a person is paid what they are deemed worth. CEO's do not set their salary, the board of directors and stockholders do, you know the actual owners of the companies. Do I think someone's worth millions of dollars, that's not my call. Its not the government call. These companies are PRIVATELY own, therefore the owners set the pay. Where is the outrage about corporate greed about Microsoft, the billions they make, They change Windows and we have to spend $100 – 400 to upgrade, and then constantly update, yet no cry of corporate greed. Is there a set of double standards or are people falling into the class warfare idealogy.
And isn't Microsoft one who made more of a profit margin than Exxon? Maybe it was one of the other tech cos. I can't remember. The point is, the media and the politicians work to focus our anger where it will sell news and advance political agendas.
Microsoft averages about a 21% profit margin, by contrast the oil companies average about 9%. Yet there is never an outcry about Microsoft's profits, only the oil companies.
They sure did, along with IBM and other Tech Cos. But is the outrage about those greedy CEO's, after all 99% all computers depend on Microsoft. I'm shocked, shock I say that there is a double standard.
They have been testing the waters for years, and now that they have a huge majority, and they don't need the Republicans to help them pass anything. They are going to take us for a ride. It's not about the truth either. All they have to say is that this is a case of so called "corporate greed" and the public will believe them. I know people that watch the Colbert Report as their actual news source. Not to mention all the people that watch the alphabet news channels and tell me everyday that FOX is the channel that isn't fair. The argument has been made time and time again in regards to the constitutionality of his actions. Under the Constitution, he has NO RIGHT to fire a CEO of a private company. This is why I have said before, he is treading a very thin line of socialism and fascism. He doesn't seem to care though, because at the end of the day, it's about him, and his ideology.

It was made last summer, although their profit margin was lower the Microsoft or IBM, about $7.00 compared to $18 for Microsoft and $ 25 for IBM, if my memory serves me.

What really disturbs me is not only the intrusiveness of the government firing a CEO, but that they are doing it for show. They want to make a spectacle so that the elite liberal media will come and salivate over another great move by B. Hussein and the tax cheat Geithner and it will get alot of air time and it will look to the people like they are in control. Yet if you have an appreciation for the Constitution you will be sickened.
I would laugh if the implications of all of this weren't so serious. Whatever happened to the lines they fed us about not wanting to run these companies? I seem to recall the government stating they just wanted to help them out and let them move forward. So fire him then. A lot of good it would do. It would just prove that the government is clueless and idiotic. Who are they expecting to take the job when he's gone? Not the most qualified person that's for sure. So the government has now shown their willingness to take bonuses without a legal right to do so. Fire executives when they have no business trying to run these companies. Has there been one company that took these bailouts that is actually doing better as a result?

Now think for a moment, who do you think will "qualify" for loans? Is it possible "green" companies and other politically correct corporations that tow the socialist/statist/marxist line will be favored? Will "disadavantaged" individuals (who happen to vote Democrat) and who would never qualify for a loan from a financal standpoint be placed at the front of the line? Is the Pope Catholic?
I think that's his plan, don't you? The government runs the banks – they own our mortgages….they can control our homes. The government owns the car plants, they control our mode of transportation. The government heavily taxes the fuel – they control our movement. The government heavily taxes heating oil and electricity, they keep us warm when we are "good" they make us cold when we are "bad". They control our salary if we have jobs. But I believe they don't want us to work, they want us to rely on them for everything. We look to Uncle Sam's Plantation for everything, all our needs. Eventually, we must bow down and worship the Obama, the almighty or we will not receive anything. Sound familiar? Sounding like I'm crazy or making some sense here?
If we all go off the "system" here, off our social security numbers, no bank account and no traceable way the government can control us then they can't control us. At least for now. That's the only way we can avoid this problem. For now. But the day is coming when this will all happen.

I think we should pay attention and learn from our government and give the boot to anyone who doesn't live up to OUR standards. They stood idly by and played a role in the biggest theft of wealth the world has ever seen, some even profited and some still are. They not only had a duty to regulate but the authority to enforce laws that would have made this robbery impossible. It is true that the banking system is messed up. Anyone arguing otherwise is trying to sell you something (like a politician). What we need to get people to understand is WHY the banking system is messed up. There are many reasons that it is, they fall in the below top 5 list.

Corporate greed would be somewhere on the top 10 list, but politicians get the top 5 spots. They are bought off by the corporations and then give earmarks and special rulings to enable the corporations legal workarounds to unethical behaviors. They try to buy of votes by writing laws to make banks do stupid things (like the risky lending practices found under the fair housing act). The list goes on.

I just love your personal profile. You are right-on with your descriptions of Moms. Did you know there is a UN treaty that the dems intend to get passed soon that will give parental rights to the UN. Yes, indeed! The Clintons tried to get it passed on 1995 but failed. The congress now believes, with Obama's popularity, it can get passed. Don't you remember Hillary saying it takes a village to raise (she should have said rear) a child. Well she really meant, it takes a world. This has already been tried in the state of Washington and failed. During that trial period though a child complained to his school social worker that his parents made him go to church too much and that child was taken out of the home that day. The parents lawyer was on Huckabee last night. Another child was taken from her home because her family refused to let her smoke pot and have sex at the age of 13. This is all true. Huckabee is suppose to post this information on his website but I haven't checked it out yet. He said that he is going to take up this cause to try to stop it because treaties trump any of our laws and our Constitution.

Great letter. I would be willing to bet though that Secretary Napolitano will never read it and that her overpaid aids will just file it in the cirular file next to their desk. I've heard a lot of people that have called to talk to their Representatives, but have never gotten through. Nancy Pelosi just talked last week about getting thousands of calls, letters, and emails opposing what she was trying to do, and she was just trying to find out how she could correct how she presented her ideas to get more people to go along with them, not changing her idea to do what the people said they wanted. This system is really hurting right now and it's all because these people in office have too much power and are narcasistic. I've got to be honest I haven't tried calling or writing them yet, but I will soon.

Hi, OldMarine. I just visited your comment stream, and I agree with you about Newt. He is an excellent speaker, however he should be continuing the push for domestic drilling. He now looks like he just wrote the book and capitalized on the high gas prices along with the speculators. My husband asked me if I was ever going to order that DVD on Reagan, and you just hit on the reason why I didn't. For a couple months, I've been saying I'd like to have the DVD, but procrastinated (which is not like me when I really believe in something). He slowed way down, if not stopped, in his fighting that particularly good fight.
Frankly if you really want the DVD on Reagan, I wouldn't not get it just because Newt is associated with it. I do believe that it was produced through the Reagan library. I'm not saying that Newt is bad, its just that he is striking me as a politician, and he should have insisted on Lord M being heard. I want to know where the other conservatives in congress, this is the problem, Nobody is standing up to this massive power grasp and the shredding of the Constitution. We, the people, can only do so much, we the elite in power to stand up and be counted. But, I don't look for it, they are more like Benedict Arlan, more concern with they power then doing what's right for America.
