We should start an e-mail campaign to GE; I suggest e-mail because you can easily spread the word to everyone, even those outside this site.
I ask that anyone write an e-mail letter and post it here for others to use and send to GE.
Some of us are better writers than others, and it would be a great help to all concerned.
We could copy, paste and sign.
A variety of letters would be best and when you use the letter you could give it a positive point.
And if you send and e-mail use your name and not 912 as it can be filtered.
Here is my take on it. MSNBC, CNBC et all…. The reason thier ratings are falling so much is that for the most part the liberal left leaning public does not take the time to watch news or to educate themselves honestly about stuff before they spout off and rant. I think they are lulling thier own constituants to sleep. Good … we can now stike while they are off in thier false lala land! GE is a disgusting shame for a company and I absolutley will NOT use those horrible flourescent bulbs. The light is awful and lets face it… it sure seems to me that anything that comes from China anymore is and should be suspect. I think they are actually trying to kill us with the products they send over here. I would call that quiet terrorism. No more GE and no more China!
Want one of these near your home? Not to be a NIMBY, because I do think windmills are appropriate in some areas, but as one living in tornado alley, how can I not bring this concern to the table?

Clearly there is a difference between hard working entrepreneurs and politcal corporate types. Immelt is running GE into the ground and is an Obama pawn.
If this were an oil company who owned Fox and the Fox CEO was up Bush’s butt, Bush would be up for impeachment and hung by "the new age press".

I agree with Watman… boycott anything GE. Start with those ridiculous lightbulbs they are trying to jam down our throats. Our local Walmart is no longer carrying incandescent bulbs and I will be writing the headquarters in Arkansas to let them know what I think of that. These damn things contain mercury and are dangerous if they break. Besides, they are produced in China, while incandescent bulbs are produced in Kentucky. I plan on buying American and will go directly to the manufacturer if need be. I'm sure they would welcome the business from all of us.
I agree! I boycotted them the first time I heard Bill O'reilly say they were catoring to the terrorists. It's sad too, since I always liked GE. But I thought, this Country comes first with me. It's great to hear you buying American. I go on line to get American since it's getting so hard to find anything in the stores. I'll gladly pay shipping costs or more to get American than that cheap good for nothing china stuff.
I don't trust china, who's to say these bulbs isn't just a way for them to later on have them explode or something. You never know. At this point, I don't trust anyone.
Our government has become parasitic. The symptoms have become obvious and the damage presents itself clearly. The treatment is difficult but not impossible yet. Remember 435 House seats are up in 2010. At least 30 Senate seats are up as well. This is very good start at blocking and removing the infestation. We can and have to cleanse the system. We can only do this with a clear and simple message. I submit that we find those people who believe in the Constitution and have the common sense, integrity, and good judgment in the vane of the Founders to start and continue this process. We can, and will prevail because we have had our fill of the infection. “Not on our Watch!”
I just emailed GE this comment :I just want to tell your company that I am no longer a customer of GE! I am outraged with your CEO and with your networks on TV. Your CEO has corrupted your networks to be so biased for the president that they are no longer credible networks and we will not watch nor will we buy GE products ever again!! Nothing surprises me about this GE thing lately. You can go back for decades and find questionable things with this company, start with love canal. They still have issues like whats going on with the Hudson River near Albany. Their hands have always been in government money.
If we follow the money, we will see clearly that Immelt advanced BH0 rise to the presidency, and will likely be awarded billions in green energy contracts. We can follow the environmental agenda money trail, too. Just ask yourself…Who is making billions on this? Al Gore leap to mind? This is merely chapter 2. This is clearly a conflict of interest, but that doesn't matter in DC politics. This makes Blago's pay-to-play scheme and the Halliburton issue pale in comparison.
Obama appoints Immelt (who had deals with Iran while Iran is providing arms to those killing our soldiers in Iraq) to his economic advisory board is criminal and treasonous. GE shareholders WAKE UP and call for Immelt's removal!
I've said this before, they don't care about being re-elected because they know that our voting rights will be gone. I'm serious…..look at what we DO know, than think about the things they THINK we don't know. Even on Glenn's show he had a guy on who said they need to be stopped THIS year. We have got to do something, anything…..at least if we fail at accomplishing what we want, we at least will know we gave it our all. We owe it to this Country. I'm scared to death right now, because for every day that goes by, there's something else that's UNAMERICAN going on behind closed doors, through open doors, in front of cameras, off cameras. I'm sick of it.

GE is a big benefactor of Obama's energy policy. GE and Obama expect us all to become mindless little Dutch boys and girls who build windmills for them dirt cheap. If wind were really the future energy source to tap, why didn't we tap into it years ago? The truth about wind power is it only amounts to 2% of the total energy output generated anywhere in the world they've been used. They are a good supplemental source, not a good primary source. What is a good source is nuclear energy. Yet we are not allowed to build new nuclear reactors here. France is far ahead of us in nuclear technology. We used to lead the way. They're already using third generation nuclear reactors, and are in the developing stages of fourth generation reactors that will use nuclear waste as fuel, thus eliminating any danger of radioactive materials laying around. What are we doing? We're playing around with windmills and beaver dams, which will become known as Obama's folly.

If I where a betting man, I would bet that nothing comes from the knowledge that we now have. Obama will make his deals, and GE will get paid off. Voter resolve over the course of 6 full years of voting cycles where EVERY incumbent is voted out of every office across the board, thus sending the message that the American people have had enough and are willing to exhibit the lasting attention to a singular cause is one of the only tings I see being effective.
Career politicians do what they do because they feel untouchable. Consistently voting them out, election after election, is a message they could not possibly ignore.
Yes, some good and decent folks will get a raw deal on that path, but it is a path I think must be navigated in order to bring about the needed corrections.

Pilosi is sacrificing control of the house and senate with this one massive attempt to force voting on every extremely liberal program ever devised by lefties. She knows she has a limited time, so look for more extreme bills to be voted on without reading, or debating on them.

The CEO tried to assure shareholders that GE has positioned itself for an economic recovery, with a new focus on products that could capture some of what GE estimates is $2 trillion worth of government stimulus spending worldwide. That includes windmills and other clean energy equipment and new health care technology.
But no oil or nuclear energy? they should be disclaiming GE before each broadcast.
Also Jay Leno called in sick, NBC has halted taping. Leno and NBC have in infighting for awhile, looks like NBC is going down too.

well i am no expert on the matter, but i have been paying attention. but it seems to me that GE doesn't need to sell their products it only needs to be in the "green business" to qualify for carbon credits that they can then resell to business that are not so green. it seems to me they have their bases covered either way.i guess all that lobbying has paid off.
Now they should have a share holders revolt. Someone needs to start a web site for the share holders to gather so that they can call for a lack of confidence vote on the CEO. This will get his attention:)

As a GE employee myself, I saw it became very clear right after the election corporate brass was going to be in bed with the Obama administration. Hell, when Jeff Immelt was appointed to Obama's economic advisory board, I felt this was a conflict of interest. With Obama's goals, much money can be made by GE. GE's Ecomagination agenda likes to say "Green is green." In other words, what we sell to promote green initiatives will bring bottom line profit. It's all about the money.
NBC and MSNBC (known as Al Jazerra news in my office) are a disgrace. GE promotes "integrity" to it's employees and expects every employee to treat "integrity" in everything you do in your job as priority. However, it seems "integrity" applies to everyone except its corporate officers and news talk show hosts. And when the microphone was turned off at the shareholder's meeting, where was the "integrity" in that????

Don't be fooled. Nothing is going to happen to Imelt at GE. Imelt and Obama are in bed together which means big bucks for GE (Government Electric). Who do you think is going to produce all of those wind turbines that Obama wants in order to produce electric? The board members are not going to do anything negative to him.

Think of it this way…GE wants to get into selling 'green' products. The gov't wants us to use 'green' products. The gov't and GE form a partnership to force us to buy inefficient products that the true free market would never support but what they think we need. GE purposely owns TV networks so that they can spread their propaganda through cool campaigns using useful celebrity idiots that will promote their products and make the other non-thinking populace believe it is the cool thing to do. Any opposition has their 'mics turned off' and control mechanisms are put in place to insure compliance. Everyone feels good because they are saving the earth and/or the children. Thus the power circle moves forward.

Some very disturbing news is reported publicly once again. A member of NBC press corps writes that NBC, owned by GE has stopped its newscasters from reporting about the very close relationship between GE and the Bin Laden family, or the fact that GE is still selling goods to Iran. A Canadian subsidiary of GE has supplied hydroelectric generators to Iran, while an Italian subsidiary has supplied pipeline and gas turbines to Iran. Even with the fact that Iran is listed by the State Department as one of seven state sponsoring terrorists. These nations included Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, North Korea, and Cuba. Iraq is no longer on this list.
General Electric told the State Department, as well as the State of New York, "It is none of your business. GE is within the guidelines of the law, and will do what is best for its investors." GE told the government to go "pound sand" in more or less terms. GE utilizes offshore subsidiaries, as well as Canadian and Mexican subsidiaries to go around the law. Yet people continue to support GE by purchasing their products and singing praises of the company.

Europe (especially Denmark, Germany, and the UK) is having problems with wind-generated electricity. The boom in the US is due primarily to subsidies that make wind turbine manufacturing such as at GE profitable. Stimulus money went to GE, who is not in trouble, to make more wind turbines.
Be very suspect of anyone's claims.
These may be good ideas, but the technology isn't there and to force it on America will only destroy our economy by driving up the cost of everything we purchase.
Don't forget. GE lobbied hard for mandating florescent light bulbs and won. Guess what.? They manufacture florescent bulbs. But they are far more expensive than incandescent bulbs and if they break, you need to call a HazMat team to remove the mercury contaminated debris. The EPA checklist for cleaning up a broken florescent bulb looks like the takeoff checklist for the space shuttle.

The drama of having shareholders actually ask questions as to the why GE came down from the mount to essentially order their array of media channels to not be to critical of the obama administration and the far left ideoligy…the nerve of those people.
As an ex-exec at GE I can tell you that GE is one of the most two faced companies on the planet. They espouse values like candor and value and "team" and being outspoken and customer focused. But their bottom line is driven by having POWER. You learn at the knee of your mentor how to seize power of an initiative. I learned from mentors that you only promote those that give you power in the eyes of everyone else… so people will pay attention to your directives and won't challenge you. They rarely promote people with real talent, for talent has it's own power. If they can't control your talent, they won't promote you. They will also ask you to do unethical things in response to problems or situations that seem to call for unethical responses with "handle it". If you "handle it" with the implied tactic, they get amnesia later on when the feds call. None of these things happened to me. I got out while the getting was good, as I could not see how I would escape having to sell my integrity at some point up the ladder.
That said, GE is so far up Obama's you know what that they are looking out the very same dark brown eyeballs. They want to be first in line to benefit from everything that results from stimulus, green/cap and trade and the like.
By the way, when you get into the executive band ranks, The PAC money collector comes round. If you don't contribute, don't expect to get up the ladder. And you might not expect to stay around either. GE internally calls those that stay in a management job more than three years a "blocker", meaning, they are "blocking" advancement opportunities for other up and coming managers.
You provide excellent reasons to not own GE shares and to not buy GE products.

The Media (Not FoxNews) is corrupt, putting their personal political views before responsibilities which are to help strengthen and support our Constitutional Republic. Ethics in Journalism, they lack. We The People want an Honest Government! The media outlets were at one time, the People's "watchdog" informing the public with information that is not influenced by prejudged perspectives. Not filling the airways/papers with playground gossip, drama, opinions, and half truths. They have destroyed them self and will try to back paddle their way back into our living rooms and kitchen tables.

I disagree with your statement that the media were once our watchdogs. They have never been. If you read about the history of journalism, you'll find that todays journalist are actually tame compared to their predecessors.

On the other hand, hundreds (if not thousands) of birds are killed annually by airplanes. I don't see the Greenies demanding that we ground all air traffic. No one knows how many deer, squirrel and other beasts are killed on the highways and roads, yet no one is hollering to stop all automobile traffic.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that they mentioned he worked for FOX news in the first paragraph yet didn't mention he was a stockholder till the end of page 2? I also didn't see a list of where the other 399 stockholders in attendance worked…I'm sure it was just an oversight

That's the problem with these huge corporations. GE doesn't care about NBC. It's just a tool for them to promote their message and they figure they can make up for the cost in other areas (not really working well right now). When companies are smaller they are more beholden to the customer and tend to put out a better product. Same logic goes for the government too.
Here are a couple of sites listing "General Electric subsidiaries" I too am for boycotting them…just yesterday was looking for a new phone for my home, one was a product of GE and I stated out loud that I would buy nothing connected to GE. Check out the sites, they have many holdings!

It should be very clear that GE is not the company it used to be! When the United States, for instanse, set embargos on Iran, GE's CEO continued to sell nuclear goods to Iran, just to make a buck, Ignoring the embargo!
This is clearly a case of quid pro quo between GE and the administration. I say it is time for a special prosecutor to clean up the corruption that only took months to develop in the administration. How long can the congress and the attorney general ignore corruption before someone steps up and files charges?

BTW, I loved the demonstration about the light bulbs done by Stu on Beck's show yesterday. A great piece of black comedy and no farce journalism. May I remind folks that GE is one of those pushing the idea of the light bulb revolution. No thanks. I will stick to the old ones…….1/3 the cost, they last about the same length of time (despite advertising claims,try them for yourself) and yes, they are an even worse hazard to the environment. I won't buy one more.
And I quit watching NBC affiliates long ago way before I became a FOX NEWS fiend and fan. I also have not watched CBS in years, either. And quite honestly, ABC doesn't get a lot of my attention, either. We watch HGTV (although that get a little sickening, too—every other house redo is someone black or gay), FOX, Hallmark channel, RFD, the Western Channel and oldies TV. But once cap and trade becomes a reality, we probably won't even watch that much. Thanks FOX! You are all that is keep us going in this country!
GE is using the power of its money to promote the radical politics of its officers rather than the interests of its shareholders. NBC is a disgrace, and costs shareholders a ton.
GE is now promoting a new Obama program to use computers to monitor all our homes. Big Brother is alive and well at GE.

Interesting post…I have told my husband more than a few times that the day would come when government would be watching us through the TV, It was said as a joke, not really believing that this could happen in America, but from what has been happening in our government at breakneck speed lately, I would say in all seriousness now, that nothing this administration does surprises me…He(Obama) has put us on a fast track to destruction!
I would really like GE to come into a good light. It started as a tremendous company founded upon incredible industrial inventions. Unfortunately it has turned into the largest lobbying group in the world. It has become huge and rank with political motivation and many parts no longer seem to focus on the industrial growth this country was founded upon. Here is what I would like to see from GE …
Sell NBC and all the media affiliates.
Sell the banking portion off (GE Money, Finance, etc.)
Become an industrial giant that it should be.
I don't care if the company splits and divides the split among the shareholders or if it simply sells off the companies that are its biggest liability. I believe they should be able to work on alternative fuels and methods for generating power in a way that generates less pollution (including nuclear power).

MSLSD awarded Kieth Oberman a new contract until the next election of $7 million plus. That's a good way to spend the money GE is not getting.

I love how they cut the mikes of shareholders when I didn't like their questions. I guess that's what we do now in this country. I hope MSNBC continues to fall in the ratings…they don't have much further to go….I hate the connection between Imelt, Obama, and NBC….it's another detrimental thing for this country….

They cut their dividends by 67%., Wow did execs take a pay cut or just the shareholders .
I stopped buying products from GE when I found out that they were doing business with Iran. What scares me even more is that Immelt is on BO's Economic Advisory Board. Not to mention, that he is also holding the plans to the "Smart Grid" technology which BO wants to implement. It would be interesting to see what BO's cut is when this deal is done. GE's ratings on the market are abysmal, and the "Smart Grid," is Immelt's last ditch effort to force the Company to prosper again. GE's future will be on the backs of all of us with utility cost increases and more Big Government intrusion in our lives. This is criminal.
Wow, so GE is pissing off both their potential customers (who are ditching MSNBC) and their shareholders, by refusing to adopt a business model with all their business units that will help the company making more money AND slashing the dividend for the first time since 1938. This sounds like exactly the kind of "too big to fail" company that our government really needs to start investing in, because it clearly won't stand on its own.
GE is so in bed with the global warming lie or with all the items they hold the exclusive patents on GE might be pushing the global warming lie. GE is not innocent in any of this mess. They are the main cause. GE is no longer an American company & I wonder if it were truly know they probally never have been.

It is good to hear that there was a lot of discontent within the shareholders, but the only way to change management is to change the board of directors that protect the upper management. At least GE was fair to Waters in saying that he is a shareholder and had a right to speak at the meeting. However, I would have liked to hear someone ask why the company continued to sell equipment to Iran even after restrictions were put in place instead of everyone calling for Immelt to "micromanage" NBC Universal. Honestly, he would have stepped in and changed things at NBC if they were no longer being financially viable (not making money = change things now).
GE can question others motives to the point of slander but don't dare ask them any tough questions. If I owned GE stock I would press the Board of Directors to replace the management ASAP or they will be voted off for someone who will look out for my investment. That is how the system is supposed to work, no government intervention required. If the stock holders decide not to do that they deserve their loss of stock value and dividend cuts.
I am glad to know that some shareholders are angry also about MSNBC and that they attended the shareholder meeting to express their displeasure. And I am thrilled that it was embarrassing to the CEO. My only question is was the meeting open to the public or was it a stockholder meeting only.
If it was a public meeting then I have no problem with Waters. However, if it was a meeting closed to the public, then instead of sneaking in and misrepresenting himself as a shareholder asking a question, he should have done a little more homework and held interviews with shareholders who would be willing to discuss the meeting. Ambush tactics are dramatic and make good television, however, nothing replaces good investigative reporting….which we have seen so little of these days.
Waters did not sneak in – he is a shareholder and had every right to be there.
I think Waters and Fox should try to do both. But I doubt that shareholders are going to want to discuss their disgust in public. After all $11 a share is better than 0.

On the other hand I have had enough of MSNBC and I refuse to buy GE products and from the MSNBC advertisers. If they would return to practicing jounalism I would change my stance.

Oh my goodness, don't mention countrywide…….I used to have countrywide. I can tell you things that would make your head spin. I had so much on them, that I went to the extent of telling their lawyer that I was having a lawsuit against them. To make a long story short, they tried to pay me money to keep my mouth shut. Remember back when they went bankrupt? Well….. I was one of many people they ripped off. All I got was, back pay for 3 months worth of late charges they screwed people out of at the 1st of every month. Whatever you do, don't do any business with these crooks.
Barney and Dodd, and Obama, and their mostly Democratic co-defendants are the major cause of this mortgage crisis, which is what brought our country down to its knees!
