I got some news. I actually figured this out myself cause I just couldn't get it when obama and the rest of the dems keep saying they'll give 95% of us a tax break. If they keep doing what they're doing and we reach 95% unemployment then 95% will get a huge tax break. You see he's not a liar and he is working very hard to get this tax break for us.

Thank you for your very nice reply. We differ in our political views. Isn't it great that we have the freedom to do so?

I don't feel that my service warrants any great thanks, I did what I felt was right and I was paid for the service.

To be honest, I really question why we were in Viet Nam. My interpreter (I was an advisor) asked me that question. For the most part the Viet Namese liked Ho Chi Minh. And, he was our ally in WW2. I don't think the idea of bringing \”democracy\”to nations that have no idea what it means is worth one American life. If a war does not significantly protect the security of the USA, we have no business fighting it. \”Uncle Ho\”would have been an US ally, even though communist. The Viets had no love for China or the Russians until we drove them into their arms.

Afghanistan will be Obama's Viet Nam. No one has ever successfully fought a war in that country as, first Alexander the Great and lastly the Soviet Union found out.

A brutal but more realistic way to have handled Al Quida there, would have been to bomb the living hell out of them, use no ground troops, let the locals deal with the Taliban and everytime they became a threat to us just bomb them again.

Unfortunately, our government, no matter which party never learns from history and we are doomed to continue policing a world that doesn't appreciate us anymore than we appreciate the cop who pulls us over and gives us a speeding ticket.

Again, thanks for your very nice reply

    Richard

"This is a country where we value our liberties and our ability to express ourselves. And so far these are expressions," Axelrod answered.

And so far these are expressions???

The President's advisor, David Axelrod, when asked about the TEA parties. I think the current DC establishment fears the American people more than they fear the Islamist who train, plot, and try to kill us.

  4. rpastoor says:

The Tea party's did not cheapen our history I think they have richened our history. This movement may help save this great county, but we must continue the fight.

  5. toby56 says:

No, I do not think the Tea Parties cheapened history. I'm amazed at the responses of some of the left-wingers to the Tea Parties – you'd think that no one but Republicans attended! I'm convinced that the left is completely blind to the fact that many, many AMERICANS are sick of the way our servants in Washington are trampling on the Constitution – and ignoring the wishes of the citizens.

The Tea Parties were meant to not only protest more taxation – but also to tell the beaurocrats to stop the spending. What is it about "stop the spending" that they don't understand??

  6. Mugwump says:

Let me give you just a few of the staggering numbers from the Obama budget:

*** Nearly TWO TRILLION dollars in tax hikes, covering everything from income taxes to taxes on “polluting” businesses. These tax hikes will cripple hundreds of thousands of small businesses, kill off thousands of businesses and create an untold number of new government bureaucrats.

*** A massive, record-setting deficit of over $1.75 TRILLION dollars in JUST THE FIRST YEAR. To compare, that deficit is more than the entire federal budget under the free-spending Clinton Administration.

*** You and I — and even our children — will now owe over 11 TRILLION dollars, money we surely will never be able to pay back without working virtually every hour of every day for the federal government.

How much more can our out of control Fed BORROW?

How much more can our out of control Fed PRINT?

    • Mugwump says:

Well, I for one do not want to find out.

If you agree with Ron Paul and Campaign for Liberty on the importance of fighting the Obama budget, I urge you to submit your PriorityGram today.

As you know, more government spending equals more government power. And more government power always equals less freedom for you and me.

*** More bureaucrats telling you what light bulbs to use, what fuel you must put in your car … heck, even what kind of car you can drive, if you’re allowed to drive at all.

*** More federal agencies to regulate what treatments you can and cannot seek for your own health, which doctors you can see, and what drugs you can and cannot take.

*** More government watching your every move, thanks to the continued Homeland Security buildup (sharply INCREASED in the Obama budget, by the way). They’ll continue or expand their efforts to monitor our computer usage, our phones, our bank accounts, our purchases, our travel and of course further erode our 2nd Amendment rights.

      • Mugwump says:

Some folks say it’s too late, that it won’t make a difference.

I’m glad those folks weren’t alive during the FIRST American Revolution or any other of the long, great struggles we have won.

The fact is, the ONLY way to stop our loss of freedom and to begin to turn back the tide toward LIBERTY is to take a stand.

        Here and now.

A stand against this massive expansion of government.

A stand against the massive piling up of debt and fake, fiat currency.

A stand against the out of control spending by those flush with power.

Here at Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, we intend to take the fight TO the Obama Administration AND the out of control Congress.

  7. Mugwump says:

    This isn’t “change”; it’s a takeover.

And I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to fight back.

That’s why I hope you’ll join me and Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, as we work to slam the brakes on the out of control federal budget.

This massive new 3.6 TRILLION dollar scheme could well be the final nail in the coffin of the American economy, if you and I don’t act today.

That’s why it’s vital you submit the STOP THE OBAMA BUDGET PriorityGram to Campaign for Liberty. I will give you the link in a minute, but first I want to make sure you understand why it is so important.

This PriorityGram demands your Congressman and Senators stand up to the Obama Administration and vote DOWN his 2 trillion dollar tax increase and record 1.7 trillion dollar deficit.

    • Mugwump says:

A version of his budget has already passed both houses and is currently in conference to work out the differences. It is vital that you urge your Congressman and Senators to reject whatever bloated compromise comes out of that committee.

The truth is, there has been a mind-boggling explosion of spending and state control in the last 8 years.

But my friend, please hear me now: The last 8 years of spending are NOTHING compared to this one dangerous budget proposed by Barack Obama.

This administration means to tax and spend us right out of existence.

And they’ll surely get away with it, unless you and I help rally millions of supporters of freedom and liberty – today.

It’s truly shocking that almost no one seems to be asking a very simple question: Where is all of this money going to come from??

I attended the Oklahoma City Tea Party on the Oklahoma state capital steps. It was a significant event for several reasons. First, .5, 000 or more showed up rather than the 1,500 that were expected. Secondly the people who did show up were the heart of our society. These people were the middle class tax paying hard working people who built and paid for our country. When they left this event there were no broken windows, damaged landscaping, graffiti or destruction of any kind. It is amazing how protective a large crowd is of what they built and paid for. And most importantly, there was no violence of any kind.
I am proud to be among those the Department of Homeland security now label Right Wing Extremists.

  9. bamaboy says:

These tea parties did not hurt history but shows that there are people out there that knows history.I was proud of everyone of those people. They had the courage to stand up to this dictator and his buddies. There are a lot more of us out there that will fight this so called government taxes.God Bless America!!

  10. Islandsox says:

The tea parties were a success; look at all the hate we are getting from the Left. They can't stop us and they know it so they spew all kinds of things at us that are untrue. I think the most humorous to me is that we are racists; that one is a hoot. I am a racist when it comes to not caring very much for the teflon-headed liberal buffoons. Oh, I put a sign in my yard today it being Sunday and all and my feeling very Texas like since I just returned. It's a sign with the word ACORN on it with a red circle and a slash through it. People honk and laugh when they drive by. See? Even in these trying economic times, we can find a way to have free entertainment.

  11. freemarket says:

Yes, we need to continue to write to our representatives and let them know exactly how we feel. I have been doing a lot more of that lately. I am also for repealing the 17th amendment. I think that our U.S. senators should be elected by the state legislatures. This would ensure that the senators are obligated to the states and not lobbiest and special interest groups.

  12. freemarket says:

I attended a tea party in Johnstown, PA. About 250 people showed up in this small town which is pretty good. The speakers really tried to get this one message acrossed: "The tea parties are not about Obama. It is about a growing Federal government which is taking away our rights granted to us in the Constitution. The Federal government has been growing for decades." I strongly feel that the Obama administration and the Democractic majority Congress has awaken Americans. Americans are realizing that a growing federal government is not a good thing. So I do not agree with this Congresswoman's assessment about the tea parties. She needs a reality check.

Guys, she's a Chicago Democrat. Did you really expect anything different?

  15. P40B says:

I think it is time to start thinking in terms of the next primary election in every state. If we are going to change the way government spends money that our children and grandchildren have to pay, we, as the electorate, have to change congress. Representatives are up for re-election this spring and that is the election in which all are most vulnerable. Talk is cheap and as a nation we can change put our votes to work and elect men and women who have the courage to challenge the incumbents in their own parties. I think the good congresswoman from Illinois sees this and wants to diminish the political power the tea parties clearly indicate. I suggest we all, of all parties, start working the political process instead of being worked by the political processors!
