    Secede? Yes, We Can!

The Constitution doesn't even mention secession, much less bar it, so we're free to do so. A court case from over 140 years ago keeps getting mentioned as "proof" we cannot secede…last time I checked, the Constitution trumps a Reconstructionist era court case in a kangaroo court. A plebiscite simply needs to be issued by the State of Texas (or any other State for that matter) and if the People vote to end the tyrannical reign of DC on the State of Texas, we'd become the Republic of Texas again. With over 12 million gun owners and a huge amount of veterans (known to the DHS as "right wing extremists"), we'd have no problems if DC decided we couldn't leave.

Molon Labe and God Bless the Republic of Texas

All states should be allowed to be what they want to be. If California wants to Let Mexico move there, let them, just don't expect the rest of the states to help them pay for it unless they want to. If another state wants to care about it' citizens and they want to work for what they want that too should be their choice. Most states think they could not survive with out DC, Some couldn't but the rest could. Those that couldn't would soon learn how to change so they could.

  4. Bryan91101 says:

I have the perfect answer. The 50 states Secede from Washington DC.

  5. Bryan91101 says:

Agreed, some more guilty than others.

Everyone of us who belong to the 9-12 project have a similar set of beliefs. We believe in religious freedom, free speech, a free (unbiased) press, the need for a sound and strong military for the protection of the state and the right of the individual citizen to bear arms to protect himself or herself if need be. We believe that there is a God given right to freely pursue your own dreams, chart your own course and make it a goal (life liberty and the pursuit of happiness). That right however is not a guarantee. We believe in the declaration of independence and the constitution, and I think it fair to say most of us believe in a higher power who calls the shots. We believe in that which is unbelievable to a relativistic society; absolute truth, or rather; right and wrong. Our comments spur one another on and that's good,"as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (Solomon, the book of Proverbs, circa 1250 BCE).
I believe there's so much more to the tea party protests on 4-15 than fiscal responsibility. I believe it was those of us with traditional family values were telling the Charles Schumer's of this world to sit down and shut-up, we haven't gone anywhere. I believe that Nancy Pelosi has been warned, those of us who believe people need to migrate here legally or suffer the consequences of deportation, are listening to what you say and we are not "un-American" we just expect people to play by the same rules that our ancestors had to play by. I hope Mr. Holder heard us explain that we'd rather scare information out of a terrorist than have more attacks at home or abroad. Lest anyone misunderstand, our CIA operatives trained some of these people to fight against the USSR, not so they could turn around and go after their own county-men and women and terrorize them. My how poor our memories are in the states. Ms. Napolitano, we are not domestic terrorists, but we may become a domestic nuisances if you continue insulting our veterans with your overly political answers that negate none of the offense made by insinuating that they are the most likely to be the most targeted by right wing extreme groups and perhaps become the next Tim McVey. Your "apology" was more of a justifying explanation than anything else.
So now that we've been mocked for exercising our right to peacefully assemble and protest ludicrous spending that will eventually break an already broken economy, what recourse have we left? Now that the peaceful T.E.A. party protests are being heralded as nothing more than an "astroturf" movement by the aforementioned, what recourse do we have left? I'm reminded of a guy back in the 80's and 90's, I believe his name was Robert Sherman, who made a lot of money suing fire departments, public schools and various other public buildings for displaying any religious symbols. He sued the government and won on the constitutional grounds that the government can not respect any religion,(1st amendment). Surely we must have some grounds when the government seems to have forgotten that it has been established by the people and for the people, and to secure our rights to pursue life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The right of an individual to make such pursuits is no guarantee of success and in no way states that we, by the force of our elected government, have to pay for another individual's failure to succeed. Maybe Robert Sherman was on to something? If you want to make the legislature stand up and listen, litigate. Are there any lawyers who know of the constitutionality of this proposal? If so are their any with the guts to do it?

  8. What do you think Obama is doing! not only is he dividing the country, he is ignoring all the laws and rights this country was founded on. and I'm sorry i would rather live in a free country, than in a nanny state built by a socialist, and thats what Obama wants. But no i don't believe it would come down to states seceding from the country. I believe it would recall, remove, or neuter Obama before that happens

  9. joeybl says:

Screw you control freak! Read the US Constitution and think about what a complete nut case you are.

  10. joeybl says:

I live in colorado, which unfortunately has become a very liberal place. I don't see this state exercising thier 10th amendment rights any time soon. So as far as I'm concerned I would be proud to be a Texan if they leave the union. I'm from michigan like Ted Nugent, which also realized that michigan was too liberal and went to Texas to live. Can't blame him for that. This whole thing seems to be getting out of hand and maybe its time to leave the fascist and commie control freaks behind.

  11. POdAmerican says:

I live in Georgia at the moment but if Texas secedes and Ga doesnt ya'll better move over cause i'm moving in. I would love to see a new southern secession.. let the Progressives have all the people that take up for them.. I bet a southern country could get a wall up real quick to keep people out and to throw bad seeds over.. I love my country but my country is based on God, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and if Washington isnt going to live by it then maybe Texas will and hopefully Georgia will but if Ga doesnt then leave me some room over around Texarkana.

  12. scgirl says:

When Obama was elected, I had to laugh at all the carrying on that he would unite us. I knew from the get go that he would divide this country like never before. I live in TX and people here are fired up. I see "Secede" bumper stickers everywhere. I am sure those with the bumper stickers are being watched carefully, even the 90 year old grandmama. She might be planning a man-made blah, blah, blah or whatever they are calling terrorist activities these days.

    • joeybl says:

Your very lucky to live in the state or should I say soon to be nation of Texas. If your state leaves the union I have no doubt other states will follow. But I may have to join ya'll down there. More power to ya. Fight the good fight.

  13. bassplayer63 says:

I posted earlier about my support of Governor Perry's comments regarding the 10th ammenment and Texans' independent spirit. I want to make a couple of things crystal clear. First, I am aware of his support for the Trans-Texas Corridor. I fought tooth and nail against that. Everything about that project was wrong. But when he or any politician gets it right I will say so, regardless of their political affilliation. When they are wrong I will say so. The second thing I want to make clear is this. I love America and wish I could have served to defend her (failed the physical). I do not want any split in the union. But if circumstances occur that force me to choose between the United States and Texas, I will stand with my beloved Texas. So Help Me God!

  14. cynikal says:

i totally agree you might want to build a fence on both sides with all the freemen clamouring to come to the New USA

  15. cynikal says:

i would hope that we can stay together as a union, but if Texas drops out it will not be over a small infraction. It will be a large build up of events that we as Americans can not put up with from our Federal Gov. If they are pushed to the point of leaving i am sure others will go also: Oklahoma (they had a resolution in their congress about the 10th), Arkansas (they pass a 10th resolution) and there were other last year. Colorado, Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama … all the good midwest boys and more will join in.

the feds would have their hands more than full by the time Texas leaves and i hope if it is bad enough for them and will be bad for the rest of us, so my vote will go with them!!! i see it like Lee, Jackson, and many other did before the Civil War. pray that our Union and work it out and stay together, but if we must go I will go 100%!! And if we must fight for our states rights then I will fight for my states right to be free and my children to grow up in a free Nation under the Constitution as I and my forefathers did.

  16. WSBoyd says:

Oh and another thingI truly believe however, that we as a nation should go the route of voting in a completely new Congress..then I really believe we should look into Impeachment. I think we have waaaay more reason to Impeach the president now then we ever have before..just my opinion..

    • joeybl says:

If we fail to vote in a new congress I believe we are goin to have to sucede. We at least need to vote in a group of people that will work to reverse as much of this insane spending as possible before it destroys this country for good. Also alot of the policies this congress is passing is going to cost millions more in job losses also increase energy cost, taxes have to go up to pay for this presidents insane budget. Obama claims he gave us a tax break. It amounted to 8 to 13 bucks per week. The only problem with this supposed tax cut is that he never revised the IRS tax code for the next tax year to allow this to be a cut. So if you think he gave you a tax cut think again. And I'm not only venting about Obama bacause there are several republicans up there to complain about as well. It just seems that no one in Congress on up to the President seems to get it. We need to vote all of these loosers out. Then maybe we can have real and lasting change. Otherwise the only real change left to make will be to sucede.

  17. WSBoyd says:

I hate to see our country heading in the direction it is. Just the fact that we are talking succession is a very scary ordeal. However, If the Obama administration continues to run our wonderful country into the ground by: opening up dialogue with rougue and terrorist states, spending taxpayer money at this rapid pace, talk of giving some of our sovereignty to a "World Order", ditching the dollar, authorizing the DHS report, all the while throwing all morality out the window etc..then I really cannot blame anyone for the discussion. Do I really think it will happen? No. I think it is just an attempt to get Washington's attention and rightly so. Something has got to be done to stop this mad-man and his Congress. I think all states need to consider a sovereignty law in their constitution. If none of this works? Well maybe succession is possible. If succession did happen I really do not think a Civil War would follow….Didnt some Russian General predict succession in the US or Civil War in the coming future? Hmm Ironic

    • joeybl says:

Sucession doesn't scare me because it seems like the only safe way to go. Now some people may think I'm some kind of religous nut when I state the reason I feel it to be the only safe way to go. The main reason is my christain belief that if you go against Isreal god will bring his judgement on you. Well I believe the current admin has already crossed this line. Also the immoral policies the admin has put into effect such as embreonic stemcell research and funding abortions here and internationally with our tax dollars.I could go on and on but I think you get the point. This admin is just plain evil. Only problem is our country voted this guy in and now its only a matter of time until tragic things start to happen to our country and people. Pray for this country and also pray for gods grace.

    • Bryan91101 says:

Nothing last forever. It is time for a change.

  18. If Obama can act like he got 100% of the vote when he didn't, ie, do whatever he wants and tell anyone who opposses it to "stuff it", then Texas can do the same. You might have a liberal in the Whitehouse, but at least half the country would be gone. Pyrrhic victory. You should be loyal to the Constitution, not whomever is in the Whitehouse.

    • Do you know anything that happened from 2000-2006. Bush and the republicans forced their view of the world down the throats of every American regardless of the their veiw, and they had the legal right to do that as elected, well, not in W's case, officials of this country. You lost, most American's do no agree with your view of the world. Get over it. Talk about sore losers.

  19. Eaglepilot says:

    Obama lied and Liberty cried

  20. Festus says:

I've never been to Texas but you can bet the farm I'd get there as fast as i could if you guys did secede. Is there room for another hard-working, freedom-loving, gun-toting patriot?

    • cincomama4 says:

Not used to posting so it has taken some time. There is plenty of room in our big state so come on and bring your gun! You'll be welcome Festus!!
