Veterans a Focus of FBI Extremist Probe

WASHINGTON — The Federal Bureau of Investigation earlier this year launched a nationwide operation targeting white supremacists and "militia/sovereign-citizen extremist groups," including a focus on veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, according to memos sent from bureau headquarters to field offices.
The initiative, dubbed Operation Vigilant Eagle, was outlined in February, two months before a memo giving a similar warning was issued on April 7 by the Department of Homeland Security.
Disclosure of the DHS memo this week has sparked controversy among some conservatives and veterans groups. Appearing on television talk shows Thursday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano defended the assessment, but apologized to veterans who saw it as an accusation.
"This is an assessment of things just to be wary of, not to infringe on constitutional rights, certainly not to malign our veterans," she said on NBC's Today Show.

I know when I get pulled over at a routine stop that it takes an extra minute or two- My name is flagged by the FBI along with thousands of veterans who served with Spec Ops and other fields, where properly motived, I could cause severe damage. Is that what the liberals are afraid of- some of us properly motivated? Damn right, be afraid! When properly motivated, you won't see me coming after you. It ain't a threat but a guarantee.

Living in arizona this does not surprise me. Our ex govenor has always been to the left and has driven this state into bankrupcy. I am convinced the left is not to happy with the President and Hillary and Biden are very jealous of him. If anything happens to him I hope they look at Biden because he never looks very happy standing behind the President when all he wants is to be President. If I were Obama I would watch my back with those two behind him. This report and subsequent statements by Napolitano has me so angry, I wrote a letter then faxed and mailed it to every Congressman in my state demanding she be removed from her position. The absurdity of this is appalling! Military personnel, military veterans, citizens, American citizens painted as terrorists??!! Is this a joke?! I heard no mention of Islam extremists, ACORN, or environmental extremists, did any of you? Maybe I missed it? Can anybody tell me when Americans became the enemy of America?

Isn't Joe Lieberman the chairman of the Homeland Security Committe in the Senate? As I recall, Sen Joe received allot of goodwill from conservatives during election season due to the common sense he was showing regarding the war.. As many (myself included) wonder where the honorable liberals are, I would think that Joe Lieberman should be all over this. At least get the DHS Sec. in a televised hearing to explain herself, her department, and this ridiculous report. (I haven't heard a peep from McCain on this either now that I think of it)

ya know what oldhen replied to me is true… I was thinking the same way when i went to bed last night. With me having worked 3rd shift for 3 years I tend to not be able to sleep until 6am…lol. I said to myself. Its ok to vent, but dont just give up so easy. I think thats why they are ignoring us… To get us frustrated, and hense just say "Whats the use". So I said to myself "What would my father say to me?" My father served on the USS Cooper in WW2. He would 1st off punch me in the back of the head, and then proceed to tell me. If you believe in something always fight for it no matter what. So I said yes I am frustrated, but im not going to just give up. I did it for 10 years I can do it for another 10 years. It looks as though Napolitano was warned about references in her report by the Civil Liberties division, but released it anyway. I smell law suits. I heard Michael Savage state yesterday that he filed a law suit on behalf of the Vets. Great Job! I am sure this is just one of many to come.

Agreed. I think the numbers of this movement and others will only increase as people develop the political acuity that is necessary to exercise their right to participate in government. The current administration is going to go the distance to discredit people that oppose their policies, they are proving that. How ignorant do they think the American people are when they claim the President was not aware of these events on Apr. 15? I read that as simply a lie, and proves that the promised change in government offered by Pres. Obama is also a lie. The current administration is only continuing the deception and lust for power that has been the focus of all the administrations of both parties for over 100 years.

Maybe the only way to fight this administration is to employ some of their Allinsky/Acorn style tactics against them. For example: they are doing this massive spending on gov't services ( they love givaways ) – then we all go down and apply for welfare using phoney names, sink their system. The same with food stamps. With medical we all file in at once to emerency room hosiptals, saying we are undocumented workers with no medical and have flu sysptoms etc. All of the things that they are doing that we hate, we have to do to them, use their rules against them to the extreme. After all, it our money, we have been labeled extremists anyway, we might as well have some of the benefits of being one.

Relax comrades, I find the DHS report soothing, it simply confirms what I believe about myself; It’s great to be in touch with ones inner-being. a foreign born man runs for president under the pretext that he will not raise taxes, mess with the second amendment, sign bills laden with pork and earmarks and go through the budget line by line. Examples of these extremists include:
·Oppose restrictions on firearms (want to keep their 2nd amendment constitutional rights)
·Oppose lax immigration (want the countries immigration laws enforced)
·Oppose the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship and the expansion of social programs (do not want to allow the US to become a one party third world secular Marxist/Socialist/Fascist country)
·Oppose continuation of free trade agreements ( Do not agree that American jobs should be exported to third world countries who enslave their citizens)
·Oppose same-sex marriage (Have a sense of morality)
·Have paranoia of foreign regimes (Don’t trust foreign regimes)
·Fear Communist regimes (Dislike dictatorships)
·Oppose one world government (Want the US to remain sovereign)
·Bemoan the decline of U.S. stature in the world ( do not agree with government economic and political terrorists)
·Are upset with the loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India (Can not figure out how all jobs can be exported and they will have any way of making a living in this country)
Napolitano needs to be fired ASAP. She has actually declared war on the American people.
I, for one, am sending a letter to Janet Napolitano AND BHO detailing why I am demanding she either resign or be fired. I'm actually less worried about this one than the Barney Frank letter, because they can't put you on a list when you're already on it!
