We've showed up for the parties, that is the easy part. Now for the hard part of now putting our money where our mouths are. I challenge everyone of you to begin putting back, a few bucks ($5 or $10) every payday for the upcoming elections next year. Think about it, thanks to the "Stimulus" bill, ACORNs warchest is loaded and already set for the next round of elections. We can protest all day long, so what! It is gonna take our money to win back much needed support in the Senate and House. We had better than 3000 on the steps of my state's capital this afternoon.

In order for the actions that are taking pplace today to have any meaning, we need to be as diligent as the leftwing extremists that have taken this country hostage. We stood by when they took prayer out of the schools, we sat by when they took the Pledge of Allegiance out of the schools. We have let them overrun our borders, free child molesters, kill unborn children, reduce the size of our military, educate the rest of the world on our nickel, and punish the middle class of this country. It is time to march on Washington, surround Capitol Hill, and demand change. Term limits for Senators, Congressmen, Governors. Jail those that have supported and allowed the corruption of our financial system. This can be done with the voice of the people, it doesn't take the violent acts that take place in our inner cities to get things done.
I agree 100%. I, for one, have no intention of getting quiet. Our job has only just begun! I hope others will join me in this fight for America!

For the Office of Homeland Security to even suggest that WE THE PEOPLE and OUR BRAVE AND COURAGEOUS MEN AND WOMEN in uniform are, or will become, terroists is just incorrigible. Now I truely am beginning to think that there is an absolute possibility that all of us (The Silent Majority) will be monitored; however, that will not stop me. I'm certainly not a Yellowed Bellied Coward. I never have been and never will be. I wish I could say the same for many, if not most, in Washington D.C.
Exactly… everyone benefits from the military. I have no problem paying taxes for things everyone benefits from. However, we both know very well that the military and infrastructure are not the only things we spend money on. The massive costs of government social programs are absolutely ridiculous, and often they don't fix the problem… they create a culture of people who are content to live in poverty and receive a check from a faceless government agency.
You made the statement that you are responsible for yourself and your son… For this, i respect you very much. In my opinion, nothing is more important than that. If everyone took this approach, if we had stronger family ties and fostered a culture of tight knit families who take care of each other, i think we could reduce the need for government welfare. I know too many people who don't support their own family, forcing the family in to poverty and often leaving no option, other than government welfare. Its very very sad, and i've seen it far too many times.
I'm confused on one thing- if you think the government spends tax dollars wisely, then why has spending exceeded revenue since about 1965? How is that wise use of money?
My point about the taxes is that there is a tax on just about everything, yet its never enough for the government. They are always looking for new ways to get more tax revenue, as if the trillions they already bring in isn't enough… in my opinion, we have to say enough is enough and stop the spending.
As far as government spending money wisely, you asked for a straight yes or no answer, which didn't leave any room for nuiance.
Government debt is not by itself a totally bad thing. The worse deficits (in constant dollars) that the United States has ever encumbered was to fight World War II. Most people would say it was worth it. Deficits have also been used to deal with recessions (like now). In addition, it makes more sense to bond out long term projects like schools or roads than to pay for them all at once.
However, I agree with you that the federal government has gone way beyond strategic or emergency use of deficit spending. It has become a way of life for the federal government because they will not make the hard choices they need to make. There is waste and abuse in social programs, but the big budget busters are the military, and social security and medicade for the elderly. As I said before, we need to get everyone to pay social security tax. OTOH, people who do not need social security because of other investments need to take less. We need to reform health care generally.
I have been watching here and listening to radio and have not heard anything about insurrection or secession. I don't know what you are watching or listening to, but you might try opening your mind and checking things out yourself. Do your own research, stop blindly drinking the kool ade.
Not according to the polls. Obama is still quite popular. His economic policies are way more popular than the policies of the republicans in congress. However, to be fair the Republicans in congress don't have any policies. It is all just, "No, no, no" and tax cuts.
Ok people, I am outraged. Fox reported that some of the tea parties, are being turned away from the treasury, and govt. buildings. They can't set up their mikes, and cameras.
I'm outraged because, the anti war protestors were everywhere, even during personal funerals of our fallen heros. And when we tried to have them removed, the judge on fox said, that it was on govt. property. Now folks…help me out here, because I am having a hard time understanding why the govt. can pick an choose when our rights only go into affect when they want them to. Freedom of speech, is just as much our right, and if we are on govt. property, than our tax money paid for it. Am I missing something here?
You are right Fox rocks – Certainly cant rely on MSNBC or CNN or any other mainstream media to inform us of what is REALLY going on in washington. Most media is unwilling to stand up for liberty and freedom on behalf of us people. They have frogotten us and they do not look out for us. Shame on them!

I am reminded of a movie of a fictitious president that was very liberal, popular in the poles, but was taking a beating because he was dating a woman and was therefore open to character attacks from the "evil" guy that just wanted the presidency in the upcoming election. As this fictitious scenario played out, the popularity of the president plummeted because he remained silent and people believed the tripe that was being told as it was the only side of the story being told. While I can't stand this movie (my wife loves it), it gives some true insight into what being silent accomplishes. Being silent accomplishes the purposes of those that are against you because those that listen only hear the side of your opposition. BE SILENT NO MORE! We have the voice. Where there are wolves in these parties, let us root them out and expose them for the hypocrites that they are.
They do not understand the principles that we are trying to drive to Washington. More importantly they fear the voice that we possess. If you want proof of this, look at what is being done to counter the movement. If it is something that is not to be feared they would simply ignore it and watch it die as the tripe that it would be. This is something that for many years I expected to happen with their voice, but no longer. They are passionate about their movement which in my view is destroying all that makes this country great. They also understand how this passion can fuel a movement and would crush any such movement that would oppose their views.
Keep strong. Expose the traitors to the cause for who they are. And let your voice be heard. It is time to show this country, and the world who we are and what we believe!

Actually, my friend, the non partisan CBO said that, in the long run, doing nothing would make our economy contract less than it would with the stimulus put into play. In other words, our economy is better off without the stimulus, according to the non partisan CBO.

Honestly, your justification for that outlandish statement is a screenshot from FoxNews. It appears to me, that the screenshot simply shows the locations where four television personalities will be on April 15th doing their jobs as reporters and covering a large event. When you actually have some legitimate proof to back up your claims perhaps then I will be able to take your opinions as serious commentary rather than whimsical jargon based solely upon political party lines.
For future comments, please stop with the "republicans are stupid" or "democrats suck" non-sense and start making some real legitimate arguments. We're all adults, let's start acting like it.
P.S. I know that I am not getting paid to go tomorrow and I sure as hell know that there aren't any "Right Wing Funded Tour Buses" taking people to the protests. Unlike some recent protests, i.e. ACORN funded AIG protests, tomorrows tea parties are simply gatherings of Americans who have kept their mouths shut for too long while watching the Washington Beauracracy grow to uncontrollable levels over the last, probably 20 years. They are not political party-based protests; they are anti big-government protests. Most people are just as sick of the Republicans' irresponsible spending over the last 8 years as they are about the irresponsible spending by the Democrats over the last 4 months.

We are silent no more! Tomorrow is another big day in our quest to restore our country to our founder's values and adherence to and protection of our constitution. The mainstream news and the federal government don't want us to think they know whats going on… Trust me they are VERY aware of what is going on and they don't like it one bit! They wouldn't want to infiltrate something that they weren't very aware of, and highly concerned about. Right? They are also angry that we were able to amass so many people without any help from their "government owned" mainstream censored disgrace of a media! They desperately hope that this is the end of it tomorrow… Boy have we got news for them, and as we have already proven, we don't need any help from their mainstream news puppets to do it. We love our country and more than that we love our freedom and our RIGHTS. Many of us including myself, have never involved ourselves in any type of protest in our lives. Many of us used to go and vote, the go back to our everyday lives, believing that the people representing us in DC would do what was needed to protect our values and our constitution. Well many many many people have realized in the past few months that our representatives in DC are NOT PROTECTING our values or our constitution! We will NOT stand for this, we will not just go back to our everyday lives and ignore what is going on. We have been driven to action, and we will continue to act endlessly until our values and our constitution are secure once again. We will stop at nothing to achieve this.

The Chicago tea party was absolutely great, with so many people they could not all fit into the plaza of the Dirkson federal building. They were jammed to the curbs and beyond! Others marched from the Daley center. Everyone there took down the necessary information to keep coordinated from here on in, so this is destined to grow. I would say that the Tea parties are going to be viewed as successful! And it doesn't even matter if the media or our representatives listen. I am more certain now that in 2010 the majority will be lost to Obama. from there we will move on to control the behavior of our representatives.
Want to know why they said that about the Veterans? Because we took an OATH TO PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION FROM ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC!

Ella, read Saul Alinsky's rule for radicals, this will give you insight to the tactics being taught and used by those who are not informed. Attend a Tea-Party, stand your ground and stand by your beliefs. What I see coming is a corrupt Federal Governement fueld by both Dems and Repubs causing the failure of our nation. The Tea-Party is not all about anti-taxation, it is a forum for WE THE PEOPLE to let the power brokers in Washington know that what they are doing at this time and for the past 30 years is no longer acceptable. I am attending a Tea-Party for the reasons you stated. I always have and always will stand my ground, because to do anything else would not only be cowardice, but it I have given into the politicians in D.C.
Ella, thank you for satepping forward. I am in my fifties, but six years ago I was attending college full time. I spent my time battling Liberal teachers who spewed their Liberalism as if it were a form of religion. Eventually I wrote the conservative column for the school paper, unfortunately the damge was too widespread. I was able to convert a few to the conservative side by standing my ground and relying on the history I was taught. Currently I teach my 10 year old daughter to read and analyze history, to see what is happening to our country today and relate it to the past mistakes. I take my task seriously, so seriously in fact I have taken her from Public school education and moved her and her sister to a CAtholic School where morals, ethics and responsibilities are taught, along with History and the basics necessary to go forward in life.

Unfortunately, the percentage that I am in is still rather small compared to the rest of the college populace, but I still do my part any way I can.
I do understand, believe me! But even a small voice can be influential. Those of us who have fewer years left to us need to know that our children & grandchildren believe in liberty and are willing to say so!
I want to go to the Tea Party tomorrow here in Austin, but because I watch my 4 yr old grandson, I won't be going. He is the reason I want to go , because I want him to grow up in the same strong America that I did, and that his great uncle gave his life for- but Austin is the Liberal stronghold of Texas, and just the thought that there could be violence does it for me. In case you didn't know- this area was only SECOND to Chicago in fund raising for the elections. That ought to give you an idea of what I am talking about. Don't worry, the ACORN reps I saw during the election looked pretty easily put down; they may come in numbers, but they appeared on TV as truly uneducated people; bad english, bad teeth, easily fooled, and no knowledge whatsoever of this country; they are only Obama lovers and that's not much of an argument. They are just following their black leader into oblivion. They know not what they do. The ones protesting the tea parties are of no consequence; the ones in the offices are as they are being charged with voter registration fraud.
I served eight years in the USMC and swore to protect and defend the constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. That oath much like the constitution means something to me. This small service to my country is obviously more than you ever done for this country.

This country has little to no knowledge of history and that is part of the problem. My generation doesn't know anything about WW2 or the people that were murdered; the scapegoats that were created because there is no one around to tell us differently any longer. As a 22 year old college student, I spend a lot of my time arguing politics with my friends. I'm not like most average students in my generation; I'm informed; my parents made me that way because they know their history.
But people just want to bury their heads in the sand or wear their rose-color glasses and pretend that nothing has changed. People want to go around and feign ignorance that 9-11 didn't happen and they hate that we speak up against the current administration. They say we are nothing but traitors because in the end, they have no other name to call us. They fear someone upsetting the precious balance of their own “perfect” reality that they themselves have created. God forbid we should be informed, but that's all the politicians want. They want to control what we know and what we learn because knowledge is power and if we don’t have that knowledge, then they have the power.
I’ve spent far too much time yelling and screaming at the television in the last few years over issues in the political spectrum and I’m sick of it. It is my belief that many others have as well and finally we have a voice loud enough and demanding enough that someone will have to pay attention. It’s about time.
And a big problem for students is they are being lied to by liberals who put "facts" in textbooks that aren't facts. And many of them are finally being called on the carpet for their mis-interpretation and writings in these textbooks. There are organizations that actually review textbooks and fact-check everything. The liberals are deliberately misleading students so they will be against anything or anyone who is in the center. This is their way of getting students to lean left, and they use lies to do it. Parents are waking up and taking notice of what is being taught to their children.
I can't disagree with you…..you are very much correct in this. It's just sad that it has had to go to this level before people are finally seeing what has been in front of their face for so long…
Your parents did a good job teaching you what the schools didn't, and they should be proud of you. Unfortunately you are a rare member of your generation. As an Air Force veteran of almost 12 years, of which I spent the majority overseas, I learned things in different countries, ie. to respect and learn from the older generation. Things they can teach you cannot be taught in school. My children have had that explained time and time again, and now they know. I've seen how they've listened to "the old timers" tell of times past, and have learned lessons through another's experience. Reading your comments, I must say that I am as proud of you as I am of my own children. Never let someone else do the thinking for you. If I may give you a word of advise that I've given all of my children. A smart man learns from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from others' mistakes. God bless and keep the faith.
Ever since I was a little girl I have always listened to "the old timers" and have enjoyed every minute of it! I love hearing about their history and experiences and it makes me realize that they had it so hard, they worked for what they have now day in and day out and truthfully it makes me realize how easy I have it because of them. It also makes me realize that I have a long way to go before I can say I understand what they went through to survive.
You are not the only one. We too yell at our tv. I've been a little busy these past 2 weeks doing my part in getting our local tea party together. Can't wait til tomorrow!!

I don't know what to say about that Islandsox, you are so very kind, friend. I'll be working Wednesday morning from about 6:30 a.m. until we get the job done. Most likely, my partner and I will work a long day and we will not have the opportunity to attend a Tea Party, but we will honk our truck horn three times at twelve noon in honor of all who attend the tea parties.
