Saddam is gone and that was good for the people if Iraq. I doubt you would get an argument if they were honest about it.
Having said that, the Islamic world will not tolerate a free country in their midst. They will continue to pour in Islamic radicals to try and achieve their objective ( a dominated Iraq). Sadly, the people of Iraq do not appear to value their freedom enough to fight for it (kind of like many in the current generation in this country, military personnel excepted).
So I wonder who is financing the insurgence in Iraq? I wonder who profits from keeping this war going? Why do Americans still accept what the socialist regime in Washington tells them at face value? There are higher powers at work here. Look behind the curtain.

I have worked, recently at that, and in the private sector. I'm currently not working by my own choice. I don't favor higher taxes, but I believe if we abandoned the idea of empire, we could pay for free health care easily. Open borders is just my firm belief in the power of the free market and my hatred of artificial limits on the market. I don't use the Constitution for toilet paper, it's too rough. I don't subscribe to the New York Times, the fine journal of culture and politics that it is. And why would I join the military? I'm not really into killing brown people.

He is going to pull out of Iraq which will give the terrorist time to reload and build another front to come after us again. Additionally, he will weaken our ability to protect our homeland by lowering our missile defense program. The world is watching and he is only showing his weakness on every front. I know Obama is an educated man so why is his learning on world history so weak. Mr. Obama you cannot make friends with terrorist. Just ask Russia how it worked out by being nice to the Nazis.

Hell, we could get hit next year and they'll blame it on Pres. Bush. Hell they tried to blame 9-11 on Bush, yes some mistakes were made, but Clinton had a number of changes to Bin Laden out. Although this president wants to "Cut and Run" in Iraq, Al Qaeda will continue it's hatred for the Western world. The withdrawal of trops will only fuel the fires of hatred. The most dangerous time for this war has not yet raised it's head. This president has no experience in modern warfare, business, or establishing an economy that will uplift us from where we are now. This president was elected because of popularity and not substance. I pray that God lead us out of this dilemma. I am not for war but there are some things taht are necessary for the survival of this country. If america appears weak to the rest of the world, terrorist will continue to kill us, only in greater numbers!!

Well said Mr. Madill II. I'd like to add a point to your point and it is a point that should give us "hope" that we can "change" the current world trend.
That point follows. Is there any way the prominent socialist leaders of the world will ever share power over the new world order? The answer is no. Obama, Putin, Chavez, Castro, the ChiComs, and any other socialists greedy for power….these people will not agree to share power in the new world order. Together, they will go after freedom loving people, but then they will become divided as they seek individually to reign supreme over the new world order. Yes, they espouse the power of the collective, but they are greedy individuals just the same.
As freedom loving individuals, we have to endure whatever hardships they throw our way and survive to fight another day if necessary. For now, let's do what we can and maybe that day we have to fight won't come.

Can anyone be surprised that Al-Qaeda could be on the rise in Iraq? They smell blood in the water, ie, a weak US President. Obama cannot even handle 4 Somali pirates in a rubber raft. I feel sorry for our honorable service men and women who have to follow this not-so-worthy commander in chief. The supreme sacrifice so many made in life and body i ashamedly feel will be tossed aside. Whether it's individuals or nations, those with the mentality of evil such as the pirates, or Iran, or al-qaeda respect and respond to only one thing- strength. The next 4 years we are locked into a policy of weakness and retreat. We will have the French pretending to like us better, and tryanny will spread around the world.
I hoped and prayed that this wouldn't happen, but I knew in my heart it would. The footprints we have left are filling in right behind us. Honestly I don't know what ever made us think we were going to go over there stick an American flag in the ground, pass out some ballots and change them. We tried the winning of hearts and minds in Vietnam and we all know how that worked out. So I guess we figured since it didn't work the first time we'd give it one more college try. The middle east has been a bloody and war torn region for literaly thousands of years. Since biblical times. Until the Iraqi people grow tired of burying their sons and are willing to sit around a table together there will be no end to it. What did America think? "Oh here have some democracy and don't forget a slice of freedom on your way out." ???
Freedom is bought with a price, a price our forefathers paid in blood. Freedom and democracy is not something that can be given. They must desire it and fight for it themselves. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Neither America or any other nation can do it for them. The battle for freedom truly begins when the war ends. The fight to protect that precious ember requires dilligence, foresight, and careful planing. It's time for our honored warriors to come home. My prayers are with them daily.
Lastly, you cannot win a war in which religion is the center piece. Every trigger pulled is another martyr made. In my opinion it will only strengthen their resolve. I mean for God's sake they have already been more than willing to face off against a military far superior! When your enemies celebrate the death of their fellow soldier and glorify him amongst their family and friends, when they believe that to die for Allah is honorable, etc etc…how can you win? You kill one and he is replaced in the same day. You can't kill religion. The 8 year old boys who burried their fathers,brothers,uncles,etc in the last 6 years will grow up to be the new terrorists, only I believe worse. They will have something to prove more than their predecessors. Hope Obama has a plan for that.

I have never read where any General in the Revolutionary War gave a timetable for success. They were there to get the job done. How can we really expect to draw an arbitrary timetable for success in Iraq? We can't. Plain and simple. Our troops are there to get a job done. We have in our Armed Forces some of best people God has put on this planet. Let's give them the tools and support they need to get the job done.
If they had been given the tools and support they deserved, this would have been finished a long time ago. Another Viet Nam and Korea if you ask me. No, we are not there to rule Iraq, and Al Qaeda certainly is not seeking liberty. The ones you are fighting with your guns and ammo and the one that we are fighting back home. If you haven't figured out yet, the troops are not coming home. They will remain in that region until the New World Order is ready to make its final push. Then the middle east will be wiped out and the grab for the oil begins. Funny now that Obama gets the briefings, it is ok for Obama to leave them there. It also keeps our trained military overseas for when they steal the rest of our money. Then the Obama brown shirts won't have to worry about the active, trained military when seizing control of communities. I know it sounds crazy, but look where we are headed.

I know this forum is supposed to be for finding answers but I just needed to vent with my last post. I don't have much time to post on these forums but I am inspired by the surge in membership on here. It gives me hope that the silent majority is waking up and realizing they are losing their country to a radical minority. Unfortunately, this minority holds a majority in the Legislative and Executive branches of government.
I saw a pic on the internet that pretty much sums it up: Liberals are brave enough to kill our unborn children but not brave enough to kill our enemies. The messiah is showing weakness to the rest of the world with his just finished "American Apology" tour with Europe.
As fast as he is pushing his radical agenda, there may not be enough left of America to save by 2010 much less 2012. He just mentioned the economy is showing "a glimmer of hope but there is still a lot of work to do" Just hearing that sends chills up my spine. Did people honestly believe that Obama was going to be able to wave a magic wand and end the Iraq war? We elected a political child to fight and end a war over a seasoned war veteran and POW. One thing I believe people forgot about McCain is that while in prison he was offered a chance to leave because his father was an Admiral, and his grandfather a retired Admiral, but he refused and stayed; that shows a hell of a lot more character than our new president has yet to show.

It's very simple! You remove military authority in a hostile area, then you invite extremist to re-surge. My son did two tours in Iraq in Ramadi, Bacquba in the push during 2004/2005 and was wounded. He believes his wounds were to free those who want freedom from suppression of muslim extremist. Obama has shown weakness and these people only understand strength.

Obama is losing support and will continue to do so from his far left because of ANY war. My biggest worry is that he is playing with the lives of our military and those of the civilians in those two countries. I fear he will make a pile of wrong decisions in order to pacify his base. He has broken so many promises in these 2 months, but I have a feeling he won't break his pledge of ending this war by the date he said. And then we will see Helter Skelter.

Pray for our brave young men and women. They join our military for diverse reasons, come from diverse backgrounds, have diverse faiths and diverse opinions. Whatever their reasons for joining, whatever their views or faith, they are willingly serving their nation. I noticed their commander-in-chief flinched when he heard a bang while standing on a podium. This is no cause for fun-making, I can only imagine how the secret service threat reports read, but I couldn't help but notice the difference between media reactions to this event and when our previous president ducked to avoid a flying shoe.

I don't know what the answer is for the Iraq part of the war on terror. They say we can't pull out because of what Iran might do. It seems Iran is and has been the central part of the problem for years. Iran is where we will end up looking to solve the problem of Iran one way or another. In other words, I don't think a peaceful Iraq will ever be possible until Iran is dealt with. Unfortunately, in years to come, if Iraq is stablized I think they may turn on us if it is expedient for them. I don't think Malaki has any special allegiance to us. I think he will be up for the highest bidder. Until Iranian influence and money is removed from the equation in the war on terror I think our problem will only persist and escalate with Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Afganistan, and even N. Korea. I think everything we have experienced to this point is merely the end of the beginning…if even that. I pray I am wrong.
Iraq and the war on terror….mmm. According to intelligence reports in the 90's Saddam was developing WMD's, Terrorists were reported in Iraq, whether it was wrong or not, not the case. U.S. and other countries go in, remove Saddam, but at the same time various terrortist groups begin to converge in Iraq. We start killing terrorists, put a dent in there numbers. We stablize Iraq, we negoiate a number of bases, mark my words we'll have bases there just like Germany & Japan. Iran sits there, knowing the U.S. is on their door step. Why do you think Russia didn't make too many moves in Europe. Well, that was the basic plan till BH0, decided we need to pull out and U.S. becomes a paper tiger like Bin Laden says.

The U.S. has the best trained, most discipline military in the world. The war on terror will never end. There will always be those who seek to visit violence on us. Therefore we must always stand ready. I also fully support the military budget increase. Whatever they need they should get. It's not even a question. I don't care how much it is, it is our duty to see that our troops have both everything they need and the best possible items and tech. as well. I'd rather see tons more money spent then see one more American flag draped casket comming off of a C-130!

Here is my guess. Comrade Obama is sitting at home drawing on some entitlement program in order to make a living. He has probably not worked a hard days work in years if at all. He believes in free health care, open borders and higher taxes because he is among the people who benefits off a system that rewards those who do less and he cares not because it will not effect him. So far as the constitution goes he uses it as toilet paper to wipe his rear every mourning after reading the New York times. I would further guess that comrade obama has never served a day in the military or if he did he was let out on medical because he could not hack it. By some chance he is gainfully employed then my guess would be teacher for there is no way he would ever hack it in the private sector.
