Attending a Tea Party? Volunteers needed to help.

Are you currently signed up to attend a local tea party?  Where are you going?  Have you contacted your local TV and radio stations to request coverage?

Volunteers are needed to participate in local tea parties and rallies on behalf of the 9/12 Project.  You will be responsible for displaying 9/12 materials and signing up individuals for future volunteer participation. This is a volunteer driven project that will only grow with your help.  The 9/12 Project needs your energy to carry out the mission in your local community.

If you are planning on attending a Tea Party AND want to volunteer, please email the coordinators here Von912project@gmail.com.

Spread the word, spread the principles, and spread the values.

We are going to have some of these signs at our Tea Party. I suggest everyone has some made up for those ACORN intruders!

We will be in San Antonio, are arriving on the 14th and returning home on the 16th so I will be glad to help in any way needed. I plan to make several signs, positive pointing out our principles and values. So those that are planning SA please email me if you could use help, I would really appreciate getting to help. Also, we need to have the 9/12 petition there and get signatures on it – we will need many copies – and watch for any fake petitions that ACORN may be pushing. God be with each tea party across our great country and with each of you. Ask that God use our work and service to the good of His will and to not allow it to be destroyed by those that would like to bring us down.

  10. MeJane says:

Good point and your right about the parties. It's the behavior, not the party, spending vs not spending. I just thought that a common chant would be powerful. Why don't we give the behavior a name like the spenders are Porkers and the nonspenders are Mules? So how about "Out with Porkers", "Mules Rule"?

  11. sparton says:

This is a must for our Tea Parties since ACORN plans to attend them as well. http://fromthepen.com/

GLENN, GLENN, GLENN, YOU MUST HEAR THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, you all have got to hear these two songs and they would be PERFECT for the Tea Party's, PLEASE take a listen they are both MUST HEAR songs. The first is called "The Americans" by Tex Ritter and the second "God Bless America Again" by Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty:

    4. Contact your representatives…alot! Store their numbers on your SPEED DIAL. Call the Congressional Switchboard 1-866-340-9281. Call the Whitehouse Comment Line 202-456-1111. You have a voice. Use it! Be brief, to the point, without name calling. If you curse or yell they will dismiss you as an idiot. You will not be taken seriously and that pretty much defeats the purpose. Be nice. Be persistent. Know your facts. Don't just call…email them too! You can be sure that if all of a sudden representatives are hearing from their constituents regularly, they will take notice.

***I had to split my comments over several posts.

    3. Familiarize yourself with the U.S. Constitution http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html, and Bill of Rights http://users.csc.calpoly.edu/~jdalbey/Public/Bill... Knowledge is power. Know what you are talking about and share it. Print it, duplicate it, hand it out, buy a pocket version. Read it to your kids, your students. This is THE LAW OF OUR LAND. Use it to defend our cause.

  15. smrtmoves says:

    2. Voting Power. We have it, but do not use it wisely. This is REAL power if we the people are smart. Let's make a decision that EVERY current politician must go! NO INCUMBENTS IN 2010, OR 2012 and so on until we clean the slate. We can REMOVE them from office quicker than you think. Once that is done, OUR new representatives will gladly do our bidding and vote for …wait for it….TERM LIMITS. I am not sure everyone realizes how important this is. We have all heard about it, but you can bet the current status quo is NEVER going to allow term limits because they would be out of a job that has many, many perks. This does not need to be about Republicans or Democrats. We will elect new candidates that agree with the 9 Principles and 12 Values and will vote for TERM LIMITS.

    • chinnubie says:

The thinking is in the right spot, but we also have to hope that they will not be corrupted by the power structure in Washington, D.C. I know if they don't vote them out as well, but what if they turn out to be good on most things we are for except they just can't seem to get the TERM LIMIT thing going. I truly believe if there were Term Limits for all politicians our country would have an entirely different landscape right now. I mean this in a way that actually represents our morals & values. At the same time if we could pull this monumental amendment off the left will then begin to go after the Supreme Court and get laws made unconstitutional, just like they did in Iowa with allowing gays to marry. I know one step at a time.

  16. smrtmoves says:

    1. Tea Parties are designed to educate, involve, and send a MESSAGE. Problem: We know about it. We think everyone else should already know about it, but they don't. Solution: We must tell them. Glenn Beck cannot do it alone. Pass out flyers, send emails, talk about it, not with anger, but with passion. Buy a box of 100 tea bags, attach an invitation to a Tea Party event that shows the 9 Principles/12 Values and hand them out at the grocery store, the Wal-Mart parking lot, church, you choose. You tell a 100 people, maybe they will tell a few and so on. Inform your local media, get the word out. Be responsible. Do not engage in hateful speech.

  17. smrtmoves says:

To be relevant we must have a plan, and work the plan. We CANNOT engage in petty attack behavior if we want to be taken seriously and ATTRACT people to our American cause. Forget about the crackpots and those who do not share our belief in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. They waste our time and energy and if we engage in too much dialogue we lose our integrity. We KNOW what the problems are. Let’s FOCUS on the solutions.

It is now or never folks! Our goverment is spending us into oblivion. They are ignoring The Constitution and making irreparable changes that they have no right to make, but once the harm is done it will be too late. Before we know it, we will no longer have a dollar bill, our laws will be decided by the U.N., and our people will be answering to a global entity. Everything that is great about America is at risk. Above all, we are One Nation Under GOD. If we turn our backs on biblical principles we will surely perish and we will deserve it!

Make sure you attend the Tea Party near you April 15th. If you make your own signs, be dignified. Pray for our country.

  18. madfarmer says:

We are excited to announce that Congressman Paul Ryan will be attending and speaking at the Taxpayer Tea Party on Wednesday, April 15th. In Madison Wisconsin.

Also, the Republican Party of Wisconsin will be providing free parking for at the Alliant Energy Coliseum, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way in Madison for the folks that are driving in for the rally.

Americans for Prosperity will be providing shuttle services from the Alliant Energy Coliseum to the rally and back.

  19. smrtmoves says:

Perhaps our collective mantra should be 'NO INCUMBENTS IN 2010'. We should encourage new blood to run and not vote for ANY incumbent, even if they seem to be doing a good job. Too bad! That would send a message to Congress. We are sick of ALL of them. The Democrats who are sabotaging our laws and morals, and Republicans who sit idly by and do nothing of real value. Talk is cheap. We The People must take action or we will have all of our Constitutional rights taken from us. Our currect 'representatives' will NEVER accept term limits. We need term limits immediately and the only way to make this happen is to throw them out and start new. Our Founding Fathers were wise men who rightly determined that our representatives should not be full-time politicians because the result is what we have today. Do not underestimate the power that these people have DEVELOPED and what lengths they will go to retain that power. The only solution is to remove them with our votes. Again, "NO INCUMBENTS IN 2010". Now THAT…is CHANGE I can BELIEVE in!

    • mwb1951 says:

I like your mantra! One of our senators is running for reelection and sent us a letter asking for financial support. I sent the letter back saying that we're looking for another candidate because we won't be voting for incumbents. Our senators did not vote for any of the various ridiculous budget, stimulus and omnibus bills BUT they didn't take the lead in speaking up against them or generating alternatives. For me, if you're not leading the opposition, if you're keeping your mouth shut, you might as well vote for the bills! Our Democrat representative won't be getting my vote in the future either. He voted with his party in every instance in spite of saying that he puts our state first.

    • Toucandharma says:

i love the "no incumbents in 2010" mantra… if only one could recieve such results…

http://TaxDayTeaParty.com and find a list of confirmed Tea Party locations there… you can also find an email addy to contact them if you decide to start a Tea Party and want to be included…
And then…. you know how the polls always get swayed once the liberals set their email lists into motion? We really need to do the same and mobilize to get the REAL word out about the Tea Parties… and what better way than signing up to be a 'reporter' for the HuffPo (as Alec Baldwin calls it).

Yesterday, I went to one of my "clubs" with my friends, all of whom voted against Obama. I wore my 912 T shirt. Not one person asked me about it. One of the girls owns a small, one stop store/gas station. She was complaining about being double-taxed on her store inventory.

So, I asked. Are you going to a tea party? She just looked at me confused. So did ALL of the others. When I explained what it was, they just went on doing what they were doing, not at all interested. My son, who is a Dem is 36 yrs old and has no problem with changing the Constitution a little to update it.

What is wrong with America????? Is it because if they can't fix it,, they'll bury their heads in the sand? I just don't get it.

  22. Freegranny says:

I'm attending a Tea Party in Laurel, Delaware on the 15th. There will also be ones in Wilmington, Dover and Georgetown, DE on the same date. If any people come from ACORN or any of the other extreme groups, we will just have to keep our cool and not let them get us riled to the point where violence breaks out. Violence will only feed the ones who think we're all just looking for something to complain about. There is also NO political bias in our group. We don't care what party you're from, we only care about the issue at hand. Nothing will be gained by blaming one side or the other. All of Congress has had a hand in this mess and we, the people, need to straighten it out in a calm, rational manner. Don't feed the extremists — stay calm and deliberate and show you're tired of being taxed over and over again for absolutely everything. We can't afford anything anymore!!!!!

    • MissTaggart says:

To anyone living in Central Delaware, April 8's Dover Post is advertising a Dover Tea Party 4/15 on the Green at Legislative Mall, 4 – 6 p.m. Since Dover is the state capitol, it would be great if people would come out and join a peaceful assembly there to remind the Government that they work for us, and that we're not happy with the job they're doing (here or in D.C.).

  23. My husband and I are attending one in Rome, GA and one in Chattanooga,TN. We have been telling everyone about the 9-12 project, the tea parties and wearing our We Surround Them t-shirts. I am amazed at the amount of people who haven't even heard about any of the events. I am printing flyers and taking them to different locations in my town. And we will have signs about the 9-12 project on one side and tea party slogans on the other side. Choosing what to say on the signs is the hardest part, because there are so many things I want to say. Any suggestions on what will hit home with Congress and the public the best? On one sign?

  24. jdftwrth says:

I am curious on how you will deal with Acorn and the other liberal scum bags who crash these tea parties with the sole intent of inciting riots and violence?

Those low life animals will do everything they can to turn these tea parties into media circuses complete with their own citizen journalists and photographers so they can dilute the effect of the citizen protests against the Anti-Christs oppressive policies and regulations.

    • roosmom says:

Please just ignore them— I was at the Cincinnati Tea Party in March with ONE protester. The media didn't show up until there was 20 minutes left & cited "Obama supporters" (plural) were there & the reporter was "scared for his safety and the safety of his crew." My children were right there & there was NO violence whatsoever. As peaceful as anything I've ever seen. Interesting that the cameraman didn't catch anything on film either?!! People were saying things to her, but nothing close to violence. Enough "in your face" stuff though for the media to slant it.
Anyway, if you just ignore the protesters, the mainstream media can't nail you with anything.

    • USMCiNGEN says:

I live in IN and would love to help with a tea party. I could probably get volunteers and other to go if I knew about one. I'm willing to drive to almost anywhere in the state too. So does anyone know of one in my area?

We are holding one April 15th from 5-9pm at the Elkhart Post Office in Elkhart, IN. Go to Meetup.com and you will see us!!! We are planning on having a pretty big turnout, both for us and a protest against us. Anyone in the area, please show up and support OUR COUNTRY in her time of need.

    • Cheyenne924 says:

Hi jhomer95, I know there are tea parties in Indianapolis. If you live close to southern Indiana, there is a tea party in Bloomington and also in Columbus, which is where I will be going. Please attend and bring anyone who will at least listen with an open mind.

  26. AgencyNurse says:

My Tea Party in jasper TX has simple objectives. Tell me what you think.

    1. First and foremost, educate the rest of the public.
    2. Media coverage
    3. The pouring out of tea onto the road as a symbolic gesture.

We're also going to make signs to spur our visibility in town. I'm going to have a PA for anyone who wants to speak and a guitar player to crank out the Star Spangled Banner really loud!

    • Messenjah07 says:

I would just make sure you:

      1) make sure you have permission from city/town authorities for the PA
      2) pre-screen those who wish to speak… from experience sometimes some pretty nutty people can use the forum
to promote their agenda and change the focus of the whole gathering.

      sounds great… good luck.

      Messenjah07 from Kerrville, TX

    • burntfrost says:

Maybe you should play something other than our national anthem. It's like a hymn to a lot of us; you should play something that inspires less reverence and more energy.

  27. MeJane says:

I think that we need a common chant at all of the Tea Parties. A common one would show our solidarity which is important, it would show that we're organized. I think that it has to be partisan. I believe something like"Vote the Dems Out !" or " Dems pack you bags!" This would scare the Dems (make them think twice before voting or creating legislation) and empower the Republicans to continue to vote against some of this horribly scarey spending and measures that are coming up. Maybe also push more of the Conservative Democrats to vote against as them well. The worst fear of a politician is that they will get voted out and I think that we should prey on that fear. What do you think?

    • evilpa99 says:

We shouldn't make this about Democrat or Republican or Obama, it is about Americans. It is about Americans standing up to say that what is happening in Washington is WRONG. You are correct that neither party is going to change their ways unless their jobs are threatened. The key is to make it about ALL of them, taking sides will allow them to continue blaming everyone else, we need to make sure they all know they are on the chopping block.

    • MeJane. This is not about political parties, but values.

    • smrtmoves says:

Our chant…NO INCUMBENTS 2010, vote them out. ALL of them! Democrats and Republicans. The Washington Machine. Let's face it, Democrats have liberal morals and a lack of respect for our laws. Republicans have let us down. Nothing will change until we remove them from office. Do people understand what an undertaking it would be to seize back control from the government? Why do you think that no other ' political party' has been able to grow into viability. These few politicians and lobbyist have been allowed to become to so powerful that overturning them will take a movement of great magnitude and fortitude. Do we have the ability to create a new 'AMERICAN PARTY'? NO MORE INCUMBENTS! As far as chants go, I also like: "OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE". Keep it simple, make it about our rights, not an attack.

      • ScottMI says:

I truly do not understand the No Incumbants 2010 slogan. Why punish the true 'representatives' out there? I know they are few and far between but there are men and women who are holding to the values of the Founders and they need to be rewarded. In fact they need to become the leading voices in Government. I personally have made a commitment to do all I can to make sure anyone who voted for a bailout or 'stimulus' is not re-elected. On the flip side, I have actively supported those incumbants that have put a voice to my views. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

      • greymist says:

I track the records of the people representing me and 2 of the 3 are doing a good job! I want to support them and send them my thanks regularly. The 3rd? I send her emails telling her about my displeasure. I will do my best to voter her out asap.

Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater here. We need some experienced people representing us but we need the professional politicians who are out for their own self-interest or are in the pockets of big interest OUT OF THERE!

I'm still working on what I want to say on my sign for the two Tea Parties I will be attending… First in my local downtown New Braunfels, TX and then on a bus to San Antonio! I can't wait and I hope we can pull it all off peacefully without being baited by those who would like to blame all of their problems on "clingers"

    • Goober says:

MeJane … It has been asked over and over NOT to make this about parties. Make this about "The American Way" What ALL of them are doing is criminal and should be put forth as such. Something along the lines of "Americans stand together and will not be torn asunder" Just keep in mind that we do not want to polarize our efforts and discredit ourselves by making it about parties.

    • Hey Arlen Specter is a Republican and he will be gone none too soon for me!

  28. PatKNC says:

I think you must be from NC. I have written to Sen Burr and since he is now up for re-election in '10 he now answers. He sure didn't the other 4 years. Hagan doesn't even bother to acknowledge my emails. Our rep is Virginia Foxx and is doing a great job of trying to vote down all this wasteful spending. I have no idea how she got re-elected since most of the district went for the dems. I worry that after the census she won't be able to ever be elected again. I am sure Burr will be the candidate but he isn't very powerful and we need someone else, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for another democrat.. Maybe we can find a good libertarian to run .

  29. Smarkin says:

I checked the Joplin and Springfield Mo sites and there are <20 people saying they are going to the one in Joplin. Found no numbers on Springfield. So how about it Springfield? Anyone going?????

  30. kathjw says:

I agree, I have seen Ron Paul on Glenn's show several times and I really like him. I hope there are tea parties in the states that Barney Frank(i hate to even type his name, yuk!), Chris Dodd, Henry Reid, John Murtha, Conyers,, Rengel and Pelosi. These traitors ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BE TAKEN OUT!! I don't understand how people from the peoples states can keep putting them back in office.

  31. I'll be in Santa Ana, CA for the TEA Party there – and am looking forward to seeing thousands in attendance — we had a preview in Fullerton just a few weeks ago when 15,000 people showed up and clogged the streets and freeways for miles around. My husband and I witnessed this and were amazed and proud of our citizens from both LA and Orange Counties who came. What was extremely frustrating though, was the lack of coverage from most of the media outlets for such a major event! They cover a couple of hundred people protesting something or other but not the 15,000 protesting our over-taxation in California. Well, one more chance. It remains to be seen what coverage we'll get. Surely, they cannot ignore us forever. Let's make some noise!!!

  32. Eric_LHC_AZ says:

I think we need to be very careful. If only one participant at one of these tea parties goes over the line, then that will overshadow the rest of the events. The media would like to focus on one zealot rather than the noble cause. In fact be on the lookout for anyone posing as a "conservative" just to make trouble.

    • CarolynOtte says:

I am so mad at the government. We voted all these people inand they don't even represent us!!! I'll be at the Omaha Nebraska tea party on 4-15 and will send a note to the news people. Eventually, the govt will have to notice-I just hope it is before there is a major uprising.

I'm surprised that our liberal congress hasn't passed a resolution against the original Boston Tea Party. Those that participated were obviously petty thieves. They also must have been racist because they attempted to frame the innocent native Americans for their crime. Oh well, got any tea?

No. I want the little book that fits in a pocket with the WHOLE Constitution in it. I am willingly to do my part and help the economy in a little way by spending the $4.99 and passing out something useful and educational.
As a side note, I sure would like to know if there has been a spike in tea bag sales. We need to make sure it is American made tea we use.

I live in a small town in Nauvoo, IL , and a representative from the American Family Association is planning a Tea
Party at noon on April 15, my wife and I plan to be there and I have contacted everyone I know and I also speak to others about it as I see them, to attend. I think we are going to have a big turnout! I hope and pray this will be a huge day for turnouts, and that the President and Congress can't help to GET THE MESSAGE! WE THE PEOPLE MUST
    ACT NOW !!!!

  37. mamaof2g says:

Last year I made a HONEST MISTAKE of $1.54 (yes that is one dollar and 54 cents mistake on my payroll taxes.) In less than three (3) weeks the IRS caught the mistake and tacked on in interest and penalties another $56.78 with a daily rate of $1.85 from the date of the letter, which took another 2 1/2 weeks for me to receive. My IRS agent was generous and FORGAVE the interest and penalties if I got a check to them for the original $1.54 in two business days. So another $50.00 in credit card fees to pay over the phone. Yet Obama's cronies are paying $7,000.00 in back taxes, interest, and penalties. What is that, something like .0002 cents a day? What didn't they pay to began with? Something in the neighborhood of 5 cents? NO! It was thousands of dollars. Why are they sitting in a cabinet positions instead of JAIL? WE ARE DOOMED!

  38. My director of programming at my cable company was walking by the tv and saw Barney Frank and said this is why we are in this trouble to begin with. Well i said did you hear about the tea parties, he said no, then after i told him he said he would be there to cover it!!

  39. bobcat1 says:

We all know or should by now what Obama has in mind for our country and the dems are more than happy to go along with him.
Demoralize the people weaken the military and bankrupt or country, just to take control and lead us to an abomination under Islam.
I am a navy veteran and come from a long line of veterans along with my wife's family,we have served since the founding of this country.
I want the U.S. military to take control of our country, it's time for the pc crowd to be shown the door along with the endless number of liberal groups who have torn this country apart for the last 40 years.
The left has already scraped the constitution, we cannot let the weakening of our country and military to continue.
When you join the military you take an oath to protect this country from foreign and domestic enemies, it's time for the military to do it's job just as millions of American veterans have done since our birth as a nation.

  40. mamaof2g says:

I have a thought that just might make a few people take notice. Border's Bookstore sells a pocket Constitution for $4.99 maybe all of us that can afford it will bring a few copies to the tea party and use the tea bags or tea labels as a book mark. Pass them out to the media, ACRON, or just the looky loos. A few people just might get educated and enlightened.
    Just a passing thought!

I'm hosting a 1 man march to Lafayette Park across the street from the White House on tax day. I own my business and work a part time job to make ends meet. This country is heading to a debt so large my children will not live the American dream my parents, and your parents gave to us. This debt is our debt, it is our burden to bear, not our children and beyond. The spending is totally out of control. I believe everyone should pay their fair share, but this congress, empowered by this administration, is going to spend and tax us into a hole our children will never be able to work off. I've read a number of the other postings, and I applaud everyone that is taking the time to make a statement. These people are sucking the life out of our country, they need to be told that we (the people paying the bills) aren't going to let them piss away our children's future because no one will make a hard choice. "I'll cut the deficit to $500 billion per year." He say's it like he's announcing a cure for cancer, something to be proud of. How about telling us how you're going to balance it, and then put it to surplus by the time you leave office? I lied about 1 man, I'm telling my employees that they have the afternoon off with pay, as long as they come with me.

Attending Louisville Kentucky's tea party. But will miss the D.C. one Hope everyone shows up who can and for those of you independently wealthy help hire buses to ship in those who need transportation:)

  44. I am hoping this goes beyond April 15th and go into Independence Day July 4th and continues on. It is a battle we need to continue.

    • go to marchforliberty.org. I too am going to the 7/4th one in DC. I'll bring my tent if I can't get a room. Oh I forgot, they have plenty of rooms at the whitehouse (long as its not Wednesday party night)

Folks make sure you know that ACORN may be at your tea parties .don't sign any papers they may be carring.

    • AgencyNurse says:

I would love for ACORN to come to my Tea Party! maybe I can indoctrinate just one of them with a seed of THOUGHT!

    • AgencyNurse says:

You see, that's the difference between us and them right there. I don't think there will be ANY Tea Party participant in America trying to get anyone to sign a darn thing.

  46. Heymom says:

The "why bothers" are part of the reason Obama is in office now. We have to change that!

  47. Islandsox says:

The left is just trying to silence us once again. They want us to be silenced and bow down and not oppose them like good little Christians. This is why they make fun of our tea parties. What they don't understand is we are united against big government, loss of future freedoms, bankrupting our families, forcing abortion onto all of us and doctors who oppose it, bailing out companies here and abroad, eventual shutting down the coal plants, forcing green cars upon us, and the most important one of all is making us all Stepford Wives without a voice.

The tea parties should continue into something even larger outside of April 15th. We must continue to issue our displeasure of total control. For me, that is the biggest issue of all: control without a voice. I will not be silenced nor will I adhere to policies I do not believe in. Period. And I think we should protest against welfare abuse; those who cross state lines to register for the umpeenth time to get money. I have many more issues other than taxation. I'm not a sore loser, I am frightened of this administration.

  48. m0rningstarr says:

I posted this elsewhere but I think it bears repeating. Mama – I completely agree! They all need to go.
I don't think American's realize they can get rid of the corruption in Washington in ONE election cycle. The entire house of Representatives is up for grabs every two years. In 2010, if this country came together and voted against the incumbent no matter their party we would REPLACE THE ENTIRE House of Representatives in one shot. The senate is re-elected one third at a time so in 2010 we could replace 33 incumbents. If this happened it would SHAKE the politicians to their core. The remaining 67 Senators would then have little power because the House would be very careful not to pass legislation their constituents did not agree with. WE need to get commercials running in every state to let America know they can replace the government. We could probably get Fox to do it as a public service announcement. Let’s get rid of the “safe seats”

  49. COMel says:

Well said khayes…BIG MONEY is running the country and it is time throw out the whole lot and start over with people not yet influenced by it. Then with term limits hopefully we can keep that influence in check.

Hannity might be biased, but national news coverage is a huge boon to any grass roots movement. If the people and elected officials don't see the numbers who come out to support these Tea Parties then what effect will they have? What I'm asking is, if a Tea Party falls in the woods and nobody's there to hear it…

One thing I know, if no one else acts in America, THE TEXANS WILL!! THEY REMEMBER THE ALAMO ! NOT LIKE THE REST OF AMERICA AND FORGET PEARL HARBOR! There will be a Tea Party at the Alamo, and Glenn Beck from the Fox News Network will be there. That shouldn't be that far for you to attend. I live in Illinois and I would go all the way to San Antonio if I could, but I can't. Keep asking, you will find a Tea Party!

  55. We are holding 2 tea parties in Vermont, yes VERMONT!!!

There will be one in front of the Capitol in Montpelier from 12 – 2 pm and one in Rutland from 4 pm – 8 pm. We will be flying the flag, flying the Gadsden flag and carrying signs as 9 12'ers!

Hope to see more than 100 concerned Vermonters!

  56. It is certain that people will be attending these events only to disrupt and dilute our movement. With that said, WE must be very vigilant not to leave these event sites looking like the Mall in Washington DC back in January. Those leaving trash or vandalism are not part of us!

    • MikkyRex says:

I would also add that we (real tea party people) must not allow the infiltrating saboteurs to encite riots that would paint the tea party movement as some type of violent, fringe radicals.

  57. I'm now rereading The Top 20 Out Of 50 and the shock sets in. America, what have we become?

    1. REBALANCE EDUCATION SYSTEM – REMOVE SOCIALISM, and 2. CONSTITUTION AS REQUIRED READING IN ALL SCHOOLS
LAWS WRITTEN IN LANGUAGE THAT WE ALL CAN UNDERSTAND

What right does our FEDERAL government have to dictate what is being taught in our local schools? Why does this government take money from our pay for this purpose? For these to even be questions shows how insane things have become. How about we just insist that they get out of the education system. Local, local, local!!!

How about these two? 3. ALL SENATORS/CONGRESSMEN MUST CERTIFY THAT THEY ACTUALLY READ BILL BEFORE VOTING ON IT, and 4. LAWS WRITTEN IN LANGUAGE THAT WE ALL CAN UNDERSTAND

We actually had the vast majority of elected members pass a multi thousand page bill pledging over a trillion dollars of our grandchildren's future without reading what the bill contained, and now weeks later, because of the language within, most senators and congressmen still can't tell you what much of the wording means.

Is it any wonder that one of the top 20 suggestions is, 5. TERM LIMITS FOR ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS?

Wouldn't our forefathers be appalled to see that in the year 2009, we the people are demanding that congress stop foreigners from crossing our borders illegally as in 6. SECURE THE BORDERS, ASAP, and 7. FIX ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, ENFORCE THE IMMIGRATION LAWS?

What would George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, et al think of our spines if they knew that we in this day and age still haven't determined a common language and have to ask our congress to pass a bill making, 8. ENGLISH AS A NATIONAL LANGUAGE.

I could go on but I fear I feel the ground shaking. No, I don't think it's the aftershocks from that earthquake. I suspect it's much sadder. Our forefathers are turning over.

Join a tea party on April 15th near you. If you don't know where go to taxdayteaparty.com

    God Bless America

  60. Mouthpiece says:

No matter how busy everyone is, these Tea Parties are only the first step in letting the politicians know how angry Americans are! This is a protest against Taxes, Illegal aliens, Corruption, misrepresentation by our own elected officials!
If you care about this country, take the first step and attend a Tea Party. I'm taking personal time off from work that's how important I think it is! New Jersey's Tea Party – main one is in Piscattaway but there will be one in Newark, Trenton and other towns across the state! Americans for Prosperity is a great place to get the information – pass it along!

(Jim Risch) is quite liberal actually, although he is supposedly Republican……My Rep (Mike Simpson) is also supposedly a Rep. but is often taking the liberal stance……so mamaof2g…..no, your reps are not the only prob. Even the "conservative" congress-people are performing poorly…..eeeeeeekkk!!

  63. nateums says:

    - ATTENTION – TAX DAY TEA PARTY ATTENDEES –

I'm not sure if this has reached anyone else's ears, but word across message boards is that organizations like ACORN are coordinating a two fold attack on the tea party. There are the protesters of the tea party (expected) that will be there trying to spur violent reactions from tea party members… which we cannot let happen… but also, there are people making ignorant and hateful signs that will pretend to be WITH the tea party. The idea is to make tea party supporters look ignorant, foolish, hateful and violent for news coverage, which we all know they will bite on hard. Please spread the word on what to look out for… but also, any ideas on how to curb this to our favor?

I personally think a 'no sign/ teabags only' ralley that puts emphasis on support for the speakers… possibly bring canned goods for the impoverished or people in the tent cities… or some other charitable form of protest would be best because then the people showing up with signs could be identified quickly and escorted away from the group trying to make a positive statement… but I also understand it may be too late to promote this idea.

    • tchirst says:

This is serious work, all should be aware that we are taking on a beast that has been growing for years. I will spread your warning but I based on some of the posts I think we could see violance.

      • nateums says:

I hope not… if we do, this will be spun to be like the anarchists in England. That will earn us no respect or serious attention… but if we demonstrate with peaceful intent… if we demonstrate charity as the responsible way of taking care of each other… it'll have the same lasting impact that movements like the civil rights of martin luther king jr that demonstrated compassion in place of angst.

      • The beast is called FEDZILLA! Time to stop the beast!

    • georgereavis says:

you should have people with signs made up to point out our tax money is paying acorn to stand there with signs, and stand next to these people the whole time. point out that the protesters are supported by acorn and our tax money.

    • Valdora says:

I will be with my 912 group, Broomfield, Colorado on the west steps of the state Capital building in Denver CO
Remember to keep the signs FOR something, positive, not negitive, not hateful. Peace Prosperity and the Pursuit – NOT BAILOUTS with our tax money

    • sixpacktr says:

Bring it! I know a bunch of squirrels that would love to get a hold of a bunch of nutty ACORNs!

    • Anastas says:

Maybe get a certain kind of tape to tape the top of the signs that are approved for the event. Anyone who isn't approved will not have that tape. Mark the signs somehow.

If your community reps try to shut you down, show up anyway! If they try to charge you for permits, I'd issue a cancel notice the day before so nobody hears it. I'd also contact the NRA and Fair Tax.org to help them file lawsuits and have all those who attended walk the streets with damning information about their representatives, Mayors or Governors taxing away a tax protest. They are probably laughing behind closed doors. I'd also come up with a list of people to vote for in the next election that support lower taxes, gun rights, the fair tax plan etc. Turn a bad into a good.

If you go, bring a camera and videotape the bad guys. Wait until the media lies about it and then release your video to make them look like idiots too. Damning video is a terrible thing to waste so take as many down as you can with it.

    • greymist says:

do they still sell "silly string"? We could cover the offensive signs with silly string.

Just kidding, but hey! We have to figure out how to handle this.

  64. sixpacktr says:

Buffalo NY is having 2 tea parties: 1 on Apr 15 from noon to 1 at Niagara Square downtown, and then Apr 18th from 1-5, marching down Delaware Ave.

Anyone and everyone in Western NY that is fed up with the gov't, with both the Dems AND the Repubs (spineless wonders and closet, or not so closet, libs) come on down! Rus from Albany's Insanity is organizing one, and Reform NYS is organizing the other. THIS is our opportunity to begin. Let's get together, march peaceably BUT forceably and in numbers, and get going. The next step is to organize and make out our 4-5 main points to focus on. Then we can begin to influence the politics here in Western NY.

Dom Giordano – Talk Show Host, WPHT-AM
Don Adams – writer, teacher, public affairs consultant
Christine Flowers – Attorney and Columnist, Philadelphia Daily News

I found the problem with our Congressmen/women and Senators it is US VOTERS! After my post of scrapping them all and starting over most of you have said you agree with me, but it's not your Representatives that are the problem. Am I the only one out there with crappy Representatives? So it is just my state that has caused ALL THE WOES OF AMERICA? Even if you Representative is doing a good job for your state they aren't standing firm for the good of the WHOLE NATION! When we are no more is not the time to say "well he was sort of good for us."
Wake up people AMERICA is going down the tubes at a rapid fire pace and no one is stopping it.

    • 1Mississippi says:

You are exactly right! Everyone believes thier Rep. is doing a good job for them. Usually they are, but, are they REALLY voting according to the Constitution, or just 'Bringing home the bacon'?Of 535 congressmen/women, I don't believe more than a half dozen or so consult the Constitution before they vote.
Demand that your elected official tell you what article of the Constitution influenced thier vote on EVERY vote!

    • MikkyRex says:

mamaof2g – if it makes you feel better (or perhaps worse) I am totally dissatisfied with how my PA senators and rep have been voting. However, I am proud (and sad) to say that they have been elected despite how I voted.

  67. simpson54 says:

are there any in the St. Louis area?

  68. Sidney_Ivan says:

I've put some thought into this very subject. We probably could successfully impeach obama-I'm sure there is something in the oath that he hasn't upheld. Biden would be the successor- and we definitely could keep him occupied (I suggest coloring books). But then we would have Nancy P. to contend with, and that bitter, jaded woman is going to be another story. We need a complete overhaul of elected officials or at least most of them (98% or so).

    • mamaof2g says:

We couldn't even have another election. How many times is MICKEY MOUSE going to vote the next time around. No one seems to care that there was voter fraud like no other this last election. Who is voting for NANCY time and time again?
Why can't we have voter ID cards and thumb prints? I am scared of my vote being stolen and sure know this election was stolen. No one seemed to care when more votes were cast than people even lived in several counties across America.

    • defender163 says:

Not with the majority being liberals.I also believe that Biden would make things even worse if it can get worse.

Why are all the tea parties happening in the middle of the day on a work day? Doesn't anyone work?

I'm hanging a tea bag on my rearview mirror since I can't take time off.

    • 1Mississippi says:

It is tax day, April 15. That is the signifigance. Take a personal day, call in sick, or whatever you have to do. This is not a concert by your favorite band, this is about the future of your country!

    • sixpacktr says:

I'm taking a couple of hours off and then going back. I'll just work late that day. This is too important. If these fizzle out and there isn't much support, then I fear that the lib media will just 'ho-hum' it and cover it less than they plan anyway. Although, I must admit, the locals here in Western NY were good about our first tea party in March.

So as 1Mississippi said, take time off. This will be first of many 'gut checks' of what we truly prize. Work is important, but freedom and an end of tax slavery even more so. We need to pick the better over the good, or the best over the better….

    • Yes we work, but for this I'm taking the day off, my husband is taking the day off and I might just let my kids take the day off to see what is important, our freedom of assembly, our freedom of speech and standing up for what is right.

Obviously we all have to do what we can and if you can't make it, there are those of us that will be there to stand for your voice too.

Maybe you can make signs to hang up around your area to support a tea party that you can't make it too. Every little bit helps!

      For freedom!

    • m0rningstarr says:

Erina – use your lunch break to join the digital march on Washington. Get the phone numbers for congress and senate and start calling their offices. There are also tea parties in the evening and on the Saturdays surrounding the 15th. Their sometimes a little harder to find. Search Tea Party on Face book or look at taxdayteaparty.com or teapartyrevolution.com

I put a tea bag on my mirror with 912 on both sides in black sharpie pen and I have a black ribbon on my car antenae. That's for the "don't tread on me". I have to leave work early so I am working an extra two hours on Monday, ours starts at 3 pm. The tea bag and ribbon will do. A magnetic bumper sticker works well too. I'm working on a small sign for my side window. Something I want from my government, not something I don't want. And yes, most of us work…… some of the people attending are taking a day off. Anything that you can do to draw attention is appreciated and encouraged.

    • smrtmoves says:

It is a cause worthy of taking the day off. Fortunately, I am self-employed and have the luxury. If you cannot be there, call people, spread the word, make flyers, put a sign on your car, send emails with links to 912project.com, write your newspapers, start a petition, send tea bags to your representatives, put a sign in your yard, put your representative on speed-dial and call them frequently…just do something.

    • Goober says:

Erina, I will miss work over this. I am taking one of my few and precious vacation days for this because it is SOOOOOO important that we stand together as a nation of good hard working people. I understand that some people cannot take off work and we will be there in your stead. I will wave my tea bag for you too!

That's what bothers me, that Hannity will be here. This is suppose to be a non-political rally in support of the Constitution. There is no way Hannity can keep it non-partisan, or non-political. I'll be attending, so I would appreciate someone keeping up with the amount of times, he says the words, Rep. Dem. Obama, or Bush, during his broadcast. Hannity's only motive for attending is to praise the Reps. under the disguise of the conservative movement. He just doesn't get it that it is much bigger than either party. This is about all of us, and the future of "OUR" country, regardless of political affiliation.

I just got off one of the liberal blogs and they are all snorting and guffawing at the use of teabagging (although I haven't seen it referred to this on conservative sites but you know the smear campaign…..) because it has a naughty sexual meaning. I refuse to discuss on a polite website but you can consult the "urban dictionary" (google for it) and get the definition. The left has no logic on this issue. They justify the increased spending of the Obama administration solely on the logic that if Bush spent us silly on the war then it's time to spend us silly on the economy. Fallacious logic at best. Two wrongs don't make a right. After reading three pages of posts the left sounds more like an episode of Beavis and Butthead than serious political commentary. "Huh huh – they said teabag huh huh" Pathetic…….

I went to a tea party meeting last night and I was sorely disapointed. They were not interested in getting any media coverage for the event. They didn't enlist any help that I could see other than running for office and hitting the pavement in neighborhoods. I'm looking for another tea party to attend. It's not going to do us much good if we don't let the officials know that we are out there in mass numbers.

Talk to your local media yourself about getting the event covered (assuming it's worth covering?)

Get to a larger city. The little events are not going to accomplish the mission. They just aren't going to give us the numbers.

I have almost the same problem Annie and I am in a suburb of Philadelphia. My problem is that the tea parties here are being held by groups affilited with the Republican party and they are acting as if the republicans are not the problem. The tea party in West Chester, pa actually invited politicians to speak. They don't get it! If you go to a tea party and an elected official is speaking, turn your back and boo!

      • Speak up and tell them like it is, its not a politcal rally!! its freedom, look in the mirror you are the leader!!! cowards don't speak up be bold and tell the group leader you want a fair shake

    • Idaho-Annie look in the mirror you are the leader!!! don't be discouraged, you be the spark and don't look for people to lead thats why were are in this to begin with all alsleep at the ballot box!!! you go for it!!
