    This is is ridiculous. What business did these so-called representatives have going to a foreign country, one that has a Communist dictator, and praising him? There should be such an outrage from the Congressional leadership and these men and women that went should be kicked out of the halls of Congress. Oh, wait a minute I almsot forgot, Nancy Pelousy is in charge there, all will be forgiven or not even mentioned at all. They have overstepped their bounds in regards to speaking with this dictator. It is not in their job description to be negotiating on any level. The US has a standing policy for not traveling to this country unless approved by the State Department. Why did they let them go to Cuba? Who is in charge of the State Dept.? Who authorized it? It just goes to show you that one socialist can get along with another socialist.

    Pay in cuba is about 9 dollars a month, they drive very old cars if at all, and THOUSANDS of people are 'missing' over the years…

    Many thousands are in jail and fidel is the warden…

    Back in January, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, sent a special envoy to deliver his message for the Cuban president and his brother Fidel, and stressed Iran´s friendship and solidarity towards Cuba. During the meeting, Castro stressed on his “confidence that relations between Cuba and Iran will continue to get stronger, based on respect and gain”. Also In 2008, Iran granted Cuba a 200-million-Euro credit line to undertake several different projects. Would this be a great back door opportunity for countries like Iran with close ties to Cuba, to carry out possible terror acts. Castro always spoke against the United States, even dating back to 1951 when we defended South Korea. Castro has always been friends with our enemies, which makes sense in why he likes Obama, he seems to want to like them also.

      Why do we have to wait to vote the SOB's out of office. It seems, that starting at the top, some of the governments actions are unconstitutional, at the very least, unpatriotic. Maybe someone on this site has enough constitutional knowledge to inform the rest of us uninformed patriots. As a government labeled "minority", I don't understand other minorities setting themselves apart instead of acting like proud Americans. My grandparents were immigrants from Mexico and they worked to make themselves productive citizens of their adoptive country. The United States government has never did anything to me to want to classify myself as anything other than AMERICAN.

If you want to educate yourself all you have to do is google "The drawers" in Cuban prisons so you can see how people are tortured just for voicing a dissenting opinion. In Cuba there were 11 prisons in 1958, now there's 258. But the ridiculously stupid and idiotic black caucus members were not interested in seeing the truth. Lifting the embargo will have no effect on the quality of life of the poor cuban people. Castro trades with the whole world and the cubans starve. Castro lives like a king. Forbes magazine placed his "stolen" fortune at $950 million, yet cubans do the slave work assigned to them for $11.00 a month.
      Opening up Cuba it's a win lose!!! It's a win win for Castro, a lose lose for poor Cuban people.

This policy was dead in the '80s, when Cuba lost Soviet subsidies. We do business with murders all the time, it's the way the world works. Plus, I want to go beautiful Cuban beach to drink Havana Club rum with and hang with their ladies. Guess we see things differently!

    Growing up in Miami…..knowing Cubans who risked their lives to get away from Castro……….knowing others who gave up being a professional Doctor for the job as a busboy in a hotel just for freedom…….. I can not believe that the Cubans in America would be happy with this little trip.

Do you think if there wasn't any media coverage or if the cbc hadn't been the ones to go but instead maybe some Cuban Americans went to visit him, that he would have been just as hospitalbe? And the audacity of calling America racist, well yes I can see that, look who went to represent us.

    I am ready for a real leader in our country, if this one would get the gumption to stop apologizing, quit acting all buddy buddy with malicious dictators, and stand for something that would actually benefit the American people, he would have my support.

I believe MLK used the words "content of character" as to how people should judge each other. Castro does not have one decent character trait anyone can speak of; he murders dissenters that speak out against the country or himself. The place is literally a slave plantation, Castro is the slave-master and the population at large are the slaves. They produce what the government wants them to produce and in return they get to stay alive. How can anyone say Cuber is a country we should try to emulate. Limbaugh had a caller tell him that when they were visiting family in Cuber she said that the country imports 2nd rate sugar and sells their sugar to the rest of the world. She had to get a manager in the hotel to bring her a packet of sugar because the Cuban residents would steal the sugar packets. They can't even get their own sugar, what does that tell the rest of the world about how great the government is down there in Cuber.

    Although it is funded by the taxpayers and it uses spaces in the Capitol building, the Congressional Black Caucus membership is only open to blacks. In 2007, Representative Steve Cohen, D-Tn., who is white, tried to apply for membership to better represent his constituents, who were 60% black.

    The CBC officially responded "He does not, and cannot, meet the membership criteria, unless he can change his skin color."

    Well, I think pretty well sums up MLK's vision of not judging people by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

    The CBC is also composed primarily of radical leftist who admire socialism, communism, fascism, and totalitarianism, and so it makes sense to me that it was a big thrill for them to rub elbows with the warm and charming Castro–a dictator who at least has the common decency to shoot his opponents before burying them and who has spent a life-time supporting terrorism and overthrowing governments throughout Latin America, Africa, and other continents.

    My husband used to work with Cubans and they used to tell him stories about their childhood in Cuba. One that stuck in his mind is this: When they were in school, the teacher would ask them to put their heads on their desks, close their eyes and pray to God for ice cream. Then the teacher would tell them to sit up and see that there was no ice cream. Then the teacher would ask them to put their heads down, close their eyes and ask Castro for ice cream. When they sat up there was "miraculously" ice cream in the room.
    It's no wonder that many Cubans "love" Castro – they've been brainwashed into it.

    What is the fascination with Cuba? I just don't get the drive to bend to mend bridges with Castro before he dies and faces the creator. I think the worst thing we could do is bend for Castro and make him a hero to his people, the one that stood up to the Americans.
    And might I add, why does Obama feel the need to apologize and point out the negatives about our country? He didn't mention the dark past of the other countries he's been touring. I don't need him to apologize for me or my country. If he doesn't like the country, then maybe he should show us a better place. Now excuse me while I pick up the hair I pulled out in anger.

    Spies have reportedly hacked into America's electrical grid, and national security officials believe they could try to disrupt the system.

    Chinese and Russian cyber spies have been monitoring the grid and other key US infrastructure, and have left behind software that could be used to take control of the system during a war or crisis, The Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site last night.

    "There are intrusions [on the electrical system], and they are growing," a former official told the paper.

    "There were a lot last year."

    The intrusions have been detected by US intelligence officials, who have grown concerned that hackers might try to hijack electrical facilities or a nuclear-power plant via the Internet.

    Water and sewage systems may also be at risk, officials said.

    "Over the past several years, we have seen cyber attacks against critical infrastructures abroad, and many of our own infrastructures are as vulnerable as their foreign counterparts," Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair has said.

    "A number of nations, including Russia and China, can disrupt elements of the US information infrastructure."

    But officials said they don't see an immediate danger.

        I've been asking my friends what they would do if the power was suddenly OFF. If they had no electricity at all…no water, no refrigeration, no heating, no TV, no anything. How would we survive? Are any of us prepared for the loss of power? The world has become more advanced, but that only makes us easier to take out. We don't have wells anymore for our water…we rely on the city to bring the water to us at the turn of a knob. We admire all our electronics, but an electromagnetic pulse or a hacker could take it all from us. Could we survive? And if martial law was declared, would we be allowed to survive?

    Anyone who's seen Michael Moore's film "Sicko" will recall the scene in which he shouts with a bullhorn as his boat takes a group of people, including Sept. 11 workers, to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, where he says prisoners get better health care than Americans.

    After the manned gun towers blow horns at Moore's boat, he takes the group to Havana, where his movie says socialized medicine government-run medicine is great for everyone. When Moore's group arrives in Havana, they are taken to a special section of a large showcase hospital.

    Moore says in the film, "I asked [the Havana hospital] to give us the same exact care they give their fellow Cuban citizens. No more, no less. And that's what they did."

    The Debate

    Moore sat down with "20/20's" John Stossel and talked about that claim. When asked whether it really was an average hospital, Moore said, "Yes."

    "This isn't just me saying this, you know. All the world health organizations or whatever have confirmed that if there's one thing they do right in Cuba, it's health care," Moore said. "And there's very little debate about that."

    In fact, there is plenty of debate. Miami-based Cuban Human Rights activist Jose Carro says Moore's movie paints an inaccurate picture.

    "These films that try to portray the health care system as superior to that of the U.S. are lacking in truth," Carro said. He asserts that most hospitals for Cuban citizens are dilapidated, that conditions are filthy and that patients are so neglected that some are starving.

    George Utset, who runs the anti-Castro Web site called therealcuba.com, says Moore's group didn't "go to the hospital for regular Cubans. They go to the hospital for the elite and it's [a] very different condition."

    Darsi Ferrer, a human rights advocate in Cuba, issued an SOS via telephone, wanting the world to know that ordinary Cubans are "crazy with desperation" over the horrendous state of their health care.

    Questioning the Numbers

    Moore says that because Cubans get such good health care, they live longer and it is true that a U.N. report claims that they live nearly two months longer. But the United Nations didn't gather any data, said Carro.

    "The United Nations simply reports whatever the government in Cuba reports, so that we have no objective way to know what the real statistics are," he said.

    Although Cuba claims to have low infant mortality rates, doctors have said the data is misleading because when there might be indications of problems with the fetus, there is a widespread practice of forced abortions.

    Julio Alfonso said, "We personally used to do 70 to 80 abortions a day." Yanet Sanchez, a Cuban exile, said she was simply told to submit to an abortion. "They told me I should end the pregnancy," said Sanchez. "It was my very first pregnancy. I wanted to have the child."

    Other doctors have said that if a child dies a few hours after birth, they don't count it as ever having lived, which ultimately makes infant mortality in Cuba look better than that of the United States.

    "It changes the number, even though the same number of children may be dying or more," said Carro.

    Long Life?

    Moore disagrees. "All the independent health organizations in the world, and even our own CIA, believes that the Cubans have a pretty good health system. And they do, in fact, live longer than we do," he said.

    But when "20/20" contacted the CIA, officials said, "We don't say that Cuba has a pretty good system or that Cubans live longer than Americans."

    In fact, the CIA's World Fact Book says Americans live nearly a year longer. Although a U.N. report supports Moore's position, that data comes straight from the Cuban government.

    Why believe anything the Cuban government says about Cuba? Moore said, "Let's stick to Canada and Britain and this stuff because I think these are legitimate arguments that are made against the film and against the, the so-called idea of socialized medicine. And I think you should challenge me on these things, and I'll give you my answer."

    Gary, I might be mistaken, but I think you got the stats wrong. Cuban American voting block is mostly republican and mainly conservative. Now the Hispanic block as a whole is a different story, since they are mostly democrats and union members. Just because Cuban Americans get lumped with the overall Hispanic genre doesn't mean they go along with them.

    Yes open trade with Cuba. Just not the kind of trade we have with China where they send full boats and receive empty boats. Definitely make travel easier epecially if the Cubans can freely travel here as well, and seek asylum.
    Just quit praising a Dictator and know who we are dealing with. Will we have to worry about them bringing their politics with them? If they come here seeking the freedom we have then probably not. I worry that forgetting why we had an embargo with them in the first place will lead to open arms to their Dictator and not their people. We must embrace their people but their dictator will fully embrace our politicians for good face.     The only suggestions I have now is ,please move to Russia, Cuba, or so for one year and live there without our $$$. Then come back and you might comment.
    When I found out from my stepson that the teachers in the Universities are teaching and supporting all above,and are condemning capitalism, while taking the money of the parents to pay for all the wages. I am still thinking about contacting the Dean and get some answers.

Obama also wants to create a National Pre-school system which I'm sure is just a way to indoctrinate our kids at an even earlier age. Parents need to do their best to put their kids in private schools, home school, or if your church has a school of it's own then that may be an option too. My brother's wife is a stay-at-home mom for the very reason to home school their daughter to protect her from public school brainwashing. If all conservatives did this then the public schools would have so few students left that many would have to shut down and it would help break the leftist teachers unions too. Pick your kids colleges well by doing your homework on their curriculum and who the professors are!

America has kept Cuba in the 18th century, by restricting trade and commerce. Who would say no?         Many of my neighbors in Puerto Rico were expatriates and NONE would favor anything that would benefit castro. I know people who's parents left with things put inside shoe heels, diplomas, some jewelry but nothing else. I know people that left after, many years after, when their family could gather enough to pay for them to go through Panama. I know a marielito that was sent here because he was "crazy" so he was let go…ALL these people managed to pull themselves by the boot straps and became successful here in America.

    Most of Obama's friends are terrorists and tax cheats. Does it really surprise you to know that he likes dictators also? He would have "hung" out with Hussein if Hussein hadn't already been hanged.

I can just see Obama sitting down with Hussein and his two sons in one of his 19 mansions talking about how they should just continue to torture and build up weapons because America has done bad things in the past too. Good thing somebody with half a brain blew the blank out of that evil!

      What is scary is we knew Obama pals around with terrorists and still elected him.I have never seen such a full frontal assault by the media to change power.We still let them get away with it.
      If Barry would just get the politicians to pay taxes and quit sending dead fish to people,we could probably fix this mess.

        It seems like "getting this fixed" means we end up with a fascist country with a dictator as our "president." Unfortunately, China or Russia will undoubtedly take us over shortly after Obama bankrupts the entire country. I'm not seeing any happy endings at this point.
