The U.N. is as corrupt as Chavez and Aquavelvajad and as ineffective as a teets on a boar hog. (Border Fox already appropriately used French)

This admistration is quickly taking us down the same path.

i'm ok with your sentiments. i say since the UN has problems with the money we owe they should just find another building to rent in SOME OTHER COUNTRY. WE DON'T NEED THEM. they need us and everybody knows it.

  2. TimR says:

What you are failing to see, is that this launch was also an advertisement to the other rogue nations, such as Iran and Syria that they now have the technology to successfully launch a missle, and for four easy payments of $50,000,000 each , we can send you out one today, and it can easily accomodate a nuclear warhead of your choice.

  3. North Korea is a dictatorship that has flagrantly disregarded pacts and policies. Might I add, that they had agreed too! I do not believe more UN sanctions are an option at this point. If N. Korea's agenda was purely to further their Space Program, they would have conducted themselves differently. It is no world secret that Russia has for years funneled weapons and energy to N. Korea through which were sold to Iran and Pakistan. Our real enemy is Russia. N. Korea is a pawn in the larger scope of things who does need to be held accountable for its actions. I disagree S. Korea would be a "speed bump!" My son and daughter's fiance is stationed in S. Korea. N. Korea only has enough artillery to wage a 15 day war. Is it the Sleeping Bear we need to consider?

Imagine your in a grocery store and some kid is throwing an absolute FREAK FIT, knocking down products and bumping into people that happen to be in his/her way. The parent (I use that term loosely) keeps telling little Johnny (or Sara) that "they better straighten up or they will be in trouble" as the little demon continues his rant and tirade disregarding the personal space of others he is invading and careless to the destruction he is causing. Sounds just like our "new tone" in Washington. "Don't fire that rocket or your going to be in trouble" with that whiney little LIBERAL voice. Trust me folks. Until you whip his ASS (the kid or the nasty little dictator) and he feels real consequences for his actions, it AINT gonna get any better. In all likelyhood it will get worse.

    • That's why we need "mommies" running the "House!" Obviously, UN "time outs" are ineffective. N. Korea needs a trip behind the woodshed!

    • kgeorge152 says:

This might be a lengthy explanation, but I do think my opinions through and I even research them a little bit. Now I could be wrong, but let me explain why both viewpoints on NK are correct only not thought through. I made a study of what has happened to our economy as we lose manufacturing. Since that was a long project I won't put down al lthe details. Suffice it to say that when we lose manufacturing jobs, more happens than increased unemployment. Jobs at Walmart pay sinificantly less than Jobs at US Steel. Jobs at Target pay less than jobs at TRW,and so forth. This causes a huge drop in our income and ability to consume. However it is more than made up by importing products from China and elsewhere. In fact, over the last 20 years or so we've enjoyed a 20% improvement in puchasing power. But what you have to look at is our trade imbalance approaching $800,000,000,000 a year. When we manufactured, things cost more but we made more, as we made less, we were able to buy more. This was what the creators of free trade had in mind. But there was a few consequenses they didn't foresee. 1) the giant trade deficit sends all that capital out of the country to buy the goods we nolonger make, 2) the quantity of jobs is drastically reduced, manufacturing by its nature creates more jobs than retail. 3) tax revenue is reduced, (incomes drop) and 4) GDP begins to drop. This is what we are now experiencing,in my humble opinion. (thats why I think things are gonna get a lot worse). Now what does all this have to do with NK? You see if we are going to have a global economy we must have world peace because it is and has always been imparitive to have peace in order for commerce to prosper. So somebody has to keep the peace. And since for now we are the big boy on the block it falls on us. So those of you that feel we should shoot down the missle are right because we need to insure peace for the whole world. But you see the whole premise of globalization is wrong. It will continue to tear our economy down to everyone elses level,it has to when you send that much capital out every year. Where the capital is is where the growth is. So in my opinion we should make a 180 degree turn and be protectionist! oooooh! now thats a dirty word. But why would we want to come down to everyone elses level? I'd bring every single one of our soldiers home and put most of them on our boarders, and the rest working with law enforcement to round up everyone here that is illegal and send them home with there families. I'd build a 6 lane highway, 30ft high on the boarder with a navigable waterway in between the two sets of three lanes. I would make this take 30 years to build,do as much by hand as posssible. It would create 3,000,000 jobs immediately and last for a generation to give us time to rebuldour mfg. I also would demand that global companies either bring there operations to the US or get out. I would drill for as much oil and gas as we could find and continue to work on alternative energy. We have to become self sufficient. So those of you that say that we should leave NK alone are also right, IF…… we pull back from the world. WE CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS..
The Obama admin is trying to replace the loss of GDP with spending. It won't work. Everyone senses it. We will have to spend more and more to maintain GDP , jobs, tax revenue for the states, and standard of living. So as I see it we have two choices: pull back like I outlined above,or get use to a much lowered standard of living for us, and a third world country for our kids. We obviously are not headed toward protectionism so GOD HELP US.

the U.S.should have shot the missle down.Damn Russia and China we should call their hand they don't want a missle dropped on them so they had better shut up.Obama is a coward just like the rest of that Washington crowd. We need a real man in office that has some back bone not a limp wrist. This country should take the money we gave to those damn crooks and build bigger nuclear weapons and point everyone of them at those rice eating gooks. We play into their hands by acting chicken. If we smoke one of those Commies they will get the message. That is the only thing they understand is brute force.

  10. Islandsox says:

I am sick to death of the words Provocative Act (Hillary, Obama) and the words Severe Punishment. What I'm waiting for is Obama to feel sorry for all of the North Korean people who are crushed under this regime, and then he gives them a trillion dollar bailout courtesy of the US Taxpayers. Maybe he'll buy those weapons behind closed doors and then tell the world we have a new treaty with North Korea and they have disarmed at his request. In return, he gives them a trillion more of our dollars. And then he can "show:" that he can negotiate successfully with the enemy. Think I'll go puke now.

  11. We should really start a game show, based around the decision of the UN, I could have made millions. I knew the UN would buckle and do nothing.

  12. Zeromentor says:

Although I respect your opinion, I must disagree. A dangerous country like North Korea has only 2 uses for a long range missile. (1.) Long range warfare with ballistic missiles; in which case they would most likely attack South Korea, as they keep saying they will one day do. Or (2.) they would use it to then prove it works and thus sell it to another rogue nation that hates everyone (ie Iran, or some terrorists that would like such a weapon).

Then guess what? Some random city gets turned into a hellscape and people then get mad at thier leaders and demand to know why they did nothing… This is all theory though, as North Korea could just be a bunch of punks and never really sell it to anyone and just threaten people like a Dog without teeth. Bark Bark Bark… Bark…

  13. Zeromentor says:

It's not sitting on its thumbs… They are voting to have a meeting about the North Korea in a meeting later. Ofcourse, this could take up to 5 meetings to vote to have this proposed meeting later. Which is what happens when you put a bunch of lawyers from different nations in one room. Noone can agree…

But hey, it's not like history has shown this to ever cause a war… You know… like in the 1930s… That one time… With that crazy austrian (some say german) guy… with a book called "My Struggle"… Yep…

  14. Mysteryman62 says:

The U.N. Is A Dead And Defunct Organization. All Obama Wants To Do Is Play Patty Cake, Kiss, Hug And Sing Kumbaya With The World Leaders, It's A Popularity Contest For Him. Take Away His Speech Writers And Teleprompters And He Would Do Good To Tell You His Name. Remember The Lady At The Town Hall Meeting Who Ask Him About Bringing Back The Jobs That Have Been Outsourced? He Mentioned Wind Power And Solar Power And Cut Her Off!! He Couldn't Give A Reasonable Answer.

  15. If my memory serves me correct, about a year ago we shot down a dead Russian satellite that upon reentry would have been a threat to human lives. The technology to do this was not developed until that situation occured (this is coming from an individual related to the project). So, as I see it, our Military was not in any way worried about their launch because in a round about way we already have a missile defence system. All that was happening here was an attempt to keep the region from destabilizing more and trying to keep an idiot from gaining more political bargining ground and starting a war with the South, Japan, and indirectly the USA since we still have active bases in South Korea.

  16. amstecher says:

I am neither surprised by North korea's actions nor am I surprised that the UN continues to sit on its thumbs.

    • That is what the UN does every time they never take any action !!! It seems like they let North Korea get by with every thing they do and the US get denied by them when we want to take action !!!! see if North Korea has a successful launch then they can sell it on the black market to Iran and etc… while the US sits by and has to watch is destruction go on !!!

  17. Vindex22 says:

North Korea fires a rocket almost two thousand miles but can't seem to feed its own people nor provide public utilities….

Our mighty President, who has the chance to remind the world of who we are, shows his loyalty to the United (corrupt) Nations above America and "tattle-tales" about N. Korea… YES, BECAUSE SANCTIONS WORK, MR. PRESIDENT! Like a little schoolboy who can't take out the bullies sidekick, he runs to the teacher….

this is the America we have to live in for the next four years….. who does President Obama work for, America, Europe or the United Nations?

    • Rozencrutz says:

Its quite simple Obama works from a global view, as he said. Too bad he is too busy looking at things from a global view to pay attention to the country that elected him the leader of their country. To me it may just be my imagination but it seems like he is more worried about what the Europeans or Communist China thinks about him. It also seems like he is in this permanent campaign mode and he is never sitting down to do the job that America elected him to do. My opinion on the UN they need to leave our country cause they really dont seem to do much for our country except ask for money and our military when they want to go stop something.

All I would like to see done right now is for him to stop trying to get the love of the world and sit down to the job he was elected to do not campaign for his next election into office. As for North Korea we should just go in and bomb all their missle sites, research facilities etc. to show that we will not be afraid to use force to stop them if neccisary.

  18. KingdomNow says:

The only reason Obama was angry was because the rocket launch managed to steal attention away from his sideshow in Europe.

I guess if Obama wants the US to take a spectator's role in world events we should allow the Japanese to take the lead in defending Asia. Oh, wait, that happened before, didn't it? How did that end again?

The poll is: Is Obama's desire for a nuclear-free world naive?

    • Zeromentor says:

The answer: Yes. If we can't threaten M.A.D. then our enemies would have no problem launching any nuclear tipped missiles at us. Would you be afraid of some guy with a toothpick if you had a M1911, loaded?

    • CMeNoMore84 says:

We were never going to do anything about this and Korea knew it all along. We are tied up in Iraq and Afgan. Just like Russia knows the US and NATO will do nothing when they make the inevitable move to take back old USSR satellite nations. Or when China takes Tiwan in the next couple years. We will do nothing because the USA is not the big kid on the block anymore. And if you think we are, no amount of patriotism or anger about this statement will change the fact your sadly mistaken.

  21. nhagman says:

Right now the UN is nothing more than a committee with mercenaries. The concept of one world government was the purpose upon which the UN was founded. It's been the goal from the start of the UN. We're all noticing that the UN is becoming bold in over-stepping its sphere of authority (of which in reality it has none) recently. The difference between last year and this year is that the pawns are all in place, and the power base is there to enact a global governance. This is all taking place faster than we can even get news about. It's a Nazi Blitzkrieg campaign of usurping The People's power at lightning speed.

You've all seen that the UN has been attempting to act as a governing body with powers of enforcement over all nations. Even having the audacity to entertain levying taxes upon Americans for oil that the UN has no dominion over. Everything that is happening now is no accident. Nor is this someone's incompetence. All of this has purpose. I spent months researching and writing the history that I've learned over my life, presenting my views, and connected the historical time line to show a clear path of what is coming ahead. Everyone who has read it said it was an eye opening experience, and they see the things in the book that are coming to pass after it was written. Only 12 people have read it so far. I'd like everyone to be armed with this information, but sorry, I'm a proud capitalist, and I'm not going to give months of my work away for free. But, since I want as many people to read it as possible, I made it very reasonable.

If you've enjoyed reading what I have to say on this site, you're still missing the big picture. I'm starting 2 brand new companies (yes it can be done successfully in this economy), so I'm not as active here anymore because I just don't have the time anymore. If you want to see what we're going through, why, and solutions to correct it, just read the book.

  23. As many of you here may have noticed I am a great admiror of the Late General Patton. A no non scense leader of real men. I have entered a link below of a current parody of General Patton in 2007. I want it to be known that I am not a person who promote's war, however, if it comes down to it I will be their worst enemy. I agree. Ping Pong il is nuts, but his antics are merely an attempt to show his "power" in the world that he thinks he has. Remember the underground, outdated, prehistoric nuke he set off? That sure went well for his confidence boost. I think we just need to send him over some taller platform shoes. That should keep the little troll happy.

This story reminds me of Iran firing off 4 missiles last year that turned out to really be only 3 missiles. The 4th one apparently was 1 of the prior 3 fired off, videotaped from a different angle. I gotta tell you, these guys really got it together over there.

  26. Umbramajor says:

I made this comment about 4 days ago. We should have done it.

Let the GARGOYLE have his rocket launch, if it goes where it's supposed to, keep a good eye on any OTHER rocket\\missle they get ready to launch. If it DOESN'T go where it supposed to, FRAKK'N give him a Tomahawk to think about, take out the launch pad, and tell him, "try that again…PLEASE."

    • Tandab says:

There is a part of me that thinks… hmmmmm NK is a Bankrupt nation, Let them Grandstand and waste what resourses they have to make Kim Jong Il feel like the big man he is not. Another Missile ends up littering the ocean between Korea and Japan. IF his little display of Power backfires and his missile goes off path……… We can certainly show him how a precision missile is supposed to perform.

While everyone here is pissing & moaning about weather North Korea gets HBO or not is beyond me. Especially when the uneducated genius's in DC have decide it is a good thing to halt the production of our next first line fighter (F-22 Raptor). These idiots think it is ok that we only have 188 of them that will protext us. People do you not get the statement that Glen keeps saying.. "SMOKE SCREEN". Like VA patriot said what N. Korea does is not our business. We have to stop this World Cop mentality that we have at the moment, this is why we have allot of the problems that we have now. I'm sorry but pissing & moaning about the missile is silly when our military should have the best not just 188 when if my memory serves me right we have more then 188 fighter pilots.

That is exactly why that North Korean dictator does missile sales demonstrations while Obama is president.

    • Cliff_brown says:

You nailed it Country Boy. That thug does what he can get away with. Also I am glad that you noticed the launch was a sales demonstration. We know that Iran was watching but who else was there? Even though it was technically a failed launch the rocket did go far enough to have reached Israel from any mid east nation.

    • Romanofzki says:

The world should be on the watch. Plus, what are we going to do? Occupy North Korea? No, we would just say we are watching them. We can not stop them from launching another missile unless we are in North Korea.

This also shows the UN is weak. So if we want a world law, and the UN wants a majority, they are definitly not proveing themselves.

      • Marks890 says:

YES! we could have easily blown that missile out of the sky. Remember the satellite we hit a few months back. it was traveling at over 1,800 mph and we nailed it! North Korea is in violation of UN resolution and are prohibited from launching ballistic missiles. We do have the right to take military action because they threatened to turn South Korea into a river of fire and then tested a NUKE last December. We do not need to occupy them but we must stop them from launching another missile because the next one might have a NUKE on it. I hope this wasn't the "TEST" that Biden was talking about during the campaign, the test that will show that Obama has a…. spine of steel?????? LMAO!!!!

  32. Marks890 says:

. They say hindsight is 20/20 right? Apparently not in Washington. The writing was on the wall years before those planes flew into those buildings and in that Pennsylvania field. The politicians didn't take Bin Ladin serious enough to take him out when they had the chance. Well, just like 9-11 the writing is on the wall again and it is LOUD and CLEAR but the politicians are not going to do a thing until we have a few million dead Americans this time.
This is not coming from a (Republican or a Democrat) I am not nor will I ever be affiliated with any political party but I do know my history well and we are repeating the same mistakes that is leading us down that same path

Unfortunately we now have a president that WONT respond correctly. He will treat any attack as a law enforcement problem, not an act of war!

  33. I think BO could have sent the despots of the world a loud and clear message by smoking that missile on the pad and having the entire air wing of the Pacific fleet ready to intercept the N.K. army as they crossed the DMZ.
Our estimed elected officials have concentrated so hard on walking softly they have let the arm carrying the "Big Stick" atrophy away.
No VA_patriot it's not the role of the U.S. to tell other countries what technologies they can have…the U.N. does that. Our role as a superpower is to insure that mentally ill dictators don't develop technologies that enable them to target American soil with WMDs…not just our role our responsibility.

  34. Rogers_Sense says:

    • GMK says:

      So would I!!!!

    • Believe me I would without a doubt. My concern is that we have become a nation that alway's has the mind set of "It doesn't effect me". Then when it does, Holy S@it how did that happen?

It's not much different than a good Military stratigist, LIKE PATTON, who studied the enemy to be able to predict his next move. Thats what people have lost, the vision to see tomorrow. The attitude of well it doesn't effect me. They aren't even smart enough to relize that the truth is it doesn't effect me "YET".

  36. If this rocket or missile flew over Alaska as it could, Governor Palin could send her National Guard out and shoot it down just like shooting skeet. She is probably the only one with enough brass to get the job done. Those feel good boys in Washington would rather see us bombed off the map before they hurt anyones feelings.

Islamic extremeist are very serious about their religion. they believe that in order for their "messiah" to return they must destroy all those who oppose him. Yea, so please let us send them a scented note with hearts and flowers on it and strongly advise them to stop the psycho act and put down the nukes! And then when they shoot off the uranium tipped long range missle, which they already have, then maybe the UN will grow some cajones and do something worth while. P.S Please do not use my tax money on postage for the lovely note.
