Bahahahahaha!!! As a wife to a law enforcement officer, I think perhaps you should check out how much "money we paid them". What a joke! They are severely UNDER-PAID. I am in healthcare, and I feel that mine and my husband's pay should be comparable… trust me- it isn't even close. Get a clue- they're not doing it for the money.

You wont get any argument on that one from me. I think the police, firemen, and the military are SEVERELY underpaid. That said, it wouldn't matter if we paid them a million dollars a day, they just can't be everywhere at once or protect everyone! We must be able to protect ourselves, from those who would do us harm!

We have open carry in the state I live in. We also have concealed carry, with classes required and regulations in place. Hmmm, our open carry just lets Clancy Criminal walk anywhere they want to with a gun. It also lets other criminals know who is armed, and makes them a target for anyone wanting to take thier arms.
(This response was in my earlier response, but had to be trimmed out due to long windedness.)

  3. Preserve The Right To Keep and Bear Arms. Protect The Second Ammendment. Enforce the Law !

OH, GEE WHERE DO I START? SO THESE PERFECTLY REASONABLE MEN HAVE BEEN FORCED BY THEIR CRANKY WOMENFOLK, HAVE THEY? YOU ARE SO VERY MARGINAL I'M NOT REALLY SURE
    HOW TO ADDRESS YOU.
FIRST , AN ARGUEMENT AND A "SLAP" IS SOOOO VERY RIDICULOUS IN THIS CONTEXT, I'M NEARLY RENDERED SPEECHLESS.
I FIND MYSELF SO ANGRY WITH YOUR RIDICULOUS POST THAT I CAN'T REPLY PROPERLY WITHOUT BEING JUST LIKE YOU.
we have been gun carrierers in this houshold since my boy was 21 and i was 18. this post is from an ignorant person. if i was to guess, this person is either a "BUG" or very, very young. i'm truly sorry i'm not more eloquent.

Settle down Tex. I'm on your side. I've been shooting for forty-five years. I was not so much talking about the Pittsburgh guy. I was off on a tangent about back-door gun control. In my state a BOGUS charge of domestic abuse can be used to take my guns. It's B.S. I simply thought that MAYBE the Pittsburgh guy was paranoid that now he would lose his.

Let me put it to you this way. If your wife wanted out of your marriage and accused you of abuse (not forced by cranky womenfolk) to the police, would you let them take your guns? Simple question. Yes or no?

This article really says nothing about the cause of all this. Some idiot psycho guns down some of our finest citizens, our front line. I cry for the tragedy that has come to our police officers and their families. I resent the meaningless interviews of this guys so called friends which seams to attempt to slant the story to try to explain this guys rampage as some how being a rant about his right to bear arms. This guy was an idiot! I usually tend to be very moderate on these things but what gets me about the media and the current administration concerning the 2nd amendment is what they are not saying. The biggest story that catches my attention is the continuous claim that the guns in the hands of the drug cartel in Mexico are coming from the US. Although Holder (the US attorney general) claims they aren't going to ban guns, I believe that when they decide to act you won't see it coming it will just happen after they've taken care of their more important agenda items, and after enough bad press about firearms and enough stories air claiming that American guns are involved in the Mexico thing that the general public will become complacent with the idea of giving up their rights or bearing their infringement and just let it happen. So keep a watchful eye and be ready to call your Congressman if and when it does happen. That is the step we have to take to maintain our rights and our freedom. We must be watchful and vigilant, our biggest enemy is our own complacency. They don't one take our rights we simply surrender them through our complacency!

I think the evil intentions of murderers can be easier traced to the "devaluing" of human life. One of the staples of the Left. Evil has been around since the beginning….or shortly there after. Cain, I believe was the first Liberal. He was upset because someone else proved him inferior with their work and so he decided the best way to handle it was to kill the competition. Let's see…did Cain have a gun or was it an SUV???

  8. pfafpa says:

It is sickening that EVERY time there is a murderer who happens to use a gun, the Left siezes on that as an opportunity to attack gun owners and conservatives who subscribe to the belief in the 2nd amendment. I have YET to hear a story about the evil "car" owners following a story about some nut job that decides to take his car and run into a group of innocent unsuspecting people. (unless it is an SUV because that fits there argument against "global warming" or is it "climate change"….not sure which it is today). Then they will say that accidental deaths by gunshots proves the danger of guns. WRONG again. That is the same as saying that accidental deaths by car accident is due to the danger of cars. It all boils down to an individual and their evil intentions or lack of responsibility.

I'm in Pittsburgh. The neighborhood is devastated for 2 reasons – the event itself happening there and the fact that Officer Kelly, the one who stopped there on his way home and was gunned down as soon as he left his vehicle, lived less than 2 blocks from the event. After he was shot the firstr time, he was able to use his radio to call for help. The next officer on the scene hid behind his car and tried to drag Officer Kelly out of the street – and he got shot in the hand because the maniac kept shooting. This isn't about guns. This isn't about Obama. It is about a complete dirtbag. How the SWAT team was able to keep themselves together, after seeing their brothers laying there dead, and bringing that guy out alive is beyond me. They all deserve our thanks and respect. We need to be teaching our children respect for these people. Too many treat these public servants as the enemy!

I expectred this from the left bloggers…. the man that shot those police, God rest their souls, was a jail house white supremist… not a conservitive. Dont be baited by them.

  11. ricks1675mba says:

We already have more than 20,000 gun laws on the books. Being that the 2nd amendment reads "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Constitutionally, congress and the past Presidents have stepped over the "Shall not be infringed" part quite a bit.
Yes, bad things happen when bad people use guns in ways such as in Pittsburgh. While these guns were apparently legal, they could just as easily been bought through the black market for arms that goes on in every city in the nation. Bad people will not care about how strict a law is, that is why they are criminals, they have no regard for the law. We could have 100,000 gun laws and the criminals will still get and use the weapons to do bad things.

I posted this in response to another post, but I decided that perhaps it should have been an independent entry. So please excuse the redundancy.

I contend that perhaps, if this administration and their supporters, i.e. The Brady Campaign, CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN, NOW, ACORN, the ACLU which is ironic that they do not stand in solidarity with the NRA protecting this civil right, the Rainbow Coalition, the majority of the Democrat Party and so so many more, would stop militantly trying to effectively repeal or castrate the 2nd Amendment by using every dishonest, demagogic, legislative and unconstitutional trick in the book, people might not be so inclined to fear the government.

When the newly elected government adopts the position that, they are going to make it practically impossible for anyone to own a weapon and ammunition, by any means necessary, legitimate or not, Constitutional or not, what do you expect? Just look at the increase in weapon and ammunition sales since the election. Do you honestly think people are spending so much money on these expensive items in a down economy, because they decided to wreak havoc on their communities some day? Of course not! I contend that it is a indication that a large segment of our society now fears the government and is even more fearful of what it is becoming.

So if any language and behavior needs to be changed , I suggest the anti – gunners look at themselves first. I contend that they are the ones creating a panic by their actions.

This is like cool fantasyland here… (Sarcasm) Imagine open carry! that's a great idea… (Sarcasm, again) Now instead of people concealing handguns, the criminals can legally open carry assault rifles, oh Joy! (yes, Sarcasm, yet again) your argument is so flawed I won't even attempt to reason with it.

    Except!
To carry concealed means: You need a permit
To own a firearm means: You must not have a felony or misdemeanor Domestic Violence charge and be able to pass a background investigation…

Criminals carry concealed without a permit and possess firearms even though legally they are prohibited from owning them… wow, look how good the law works. Honest people abide by it, criminals could care less… except the open carry of AR-15's and Ak's I think they would really like that… but then they still probably have a criminal record and forbidden from owning one in the first place and they care for what reason?

This is like Motor vehicle laws, you are required to have a license and current insurance and up to date registration to operate a motor vehicle, I abide by them, honest citizens abide by them, but some people do not… i.e Criminals. Are we going to start banning cars next because a handful of people illegitimately own and operate a motor vehicle? Does anyone see the parallel and how ridiculous the argument really is?

Open carry means that it's easy for a criminal to see who is armed and who is defenseless, not to mention it makes it that much easier for them to take your gun away from you and use it on you or someone else.

Very well put. Remember a few years back when everyone was talking about how wacky the militia groups were? The liberal news media and the powers that be want them to be viewed as crazies…but are they really? I have over 20 years in law enforcement and have obtained my Masters in Criminal Justice, I guess I'm crazy too, I purposely make sure I buy a box of ammo every pay day, the day is coming when all of your rights will be gone and you will look in the mirror only to see a Socialist or Communist staring back at you. I'm not an alarmist, but I'm a realist. Look at the ways that Obama's regime is taking control of the private sector, banks, auto manufacturers, insurance….what's next? My founding father's sure as hell didn't see this coming.

  18. Chasinghawk says:

There is no need for new gun laws….inforce the ones already in existence!!
