My self righteousness? I'm not the one trying to take someone else's money away because I don't agree with it. I never said I was happy about it. Like I've told you again and again….I believe in the law. I'm not so sure about you though. And no…you didn't get under my skin. You have absolutely no significance in my life whatsoever….Now you're assuming you know where I live …anyone can buy a T-Shirt….I have a USMC tshirt to prove it…lol

  2. ssnapier says:

I have shown this video to everyone I can get in front of a computer. The Attorney General cannot tap dance fast enough to dodge Glenn's line of questioning!! This is one of the best interviews I have seen in a LONG time!

  3. Gregory says:

One man in a nation of slack jawed boot licking journalists, asks the one question all of those in the media should have been asking themselves. If it had been someone from the Bush administration talking about going after someones bonus, the media would have been all over it.
My question is why didn't any of us ask the same question? That's exactly why Glenn doesn't want people that hang on his every word. He needs thinkers to ask questions and dig for answers.

A very sad state of journalism when it takes someone with no journalistic training to ask the most important question. The only "law" that appears to be in play with this issue is the law of mob rule. You can not run a judicial system this way. I fear this is just another slippery slope we are traveling down.

    • Gregory says:

      There is no more journalism.

      • mariasampson says:

Well, there is..unfortunately, it's not mainstream. Those that remain with the journalistic frame of mind are not working for mainstream newspapers…they are working online in blogs and online news sources. That actually gives me hope.

Just wondering where I might find that the 16th Amendment was not ratified. I have an ongoing debate with a good friend over this topic. His explanation of the "voluntary" statement on the back of the various IRS returns (1040's) is pretty weak, and not based on factual research, but rather is based on fear and other's opinions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  7. MrPatriotone says:

He states he cannot investigate a Federal Official! So I guess all the Federal officials we are paying for are above the law!

    What a crock!

  8. GGinGa says:

This was a very good interview. I have never saw anyone as ready to be finished with an interview as he was.

  9. Well done Glenn! you really proved how he is not following any law, and just popular views. Well done!

  10. Leatha says:

Let's all ask Blumenthal the question he would not answer for Glenn.

Here is the e-mail page: http://www.ct.gov/ag/cwp/browse.asp?a=2224

What law did AIG bonus receivers break?

  11. Leatha says:

Roy, you are one the mark! Due to the very reasons you list, I have e-mailed the programmers behind Letterman and said I will no longer watch him because his comedy is over the line for me.

What we need to do after we write the television station is begin writing the advertisers, telling them we will no longer buy their products if they continue to support a program with a man like Letterman.

We have a lot of consumer power. As of today, I am boycotting my favorite soda, Pepsi, for some of their sponsorships and ads that promote a similar logo to Obama's logo.

We are a group of intelligent, well-read group of citizens who choose to no longer be silent and no longer support in any way a group of those who are anti-American. Enjoyed your words.

  12. Zimm says:

I must have gotten pretty deep under your skin but you need to get over your self righteousness. At least you now admit that you didn't like the AIG bonus payouts more than anyone else did. That's all you would have had to say. Maybe, you'll see me out at Keesler AFB today for the air show, look for me, I'll be wearing my gray Air Force t-shirt.

  13. Zimm says:

I don't know who you are or why you feel compelled to respond to a post that was not written for you unless you are appointing yourself the majority here. At no time did I mention my personal opinion of yllluminate's post, only that he made a valid point, so don't assume. We may not be as far apart on things as it may seem.

    • JQ_Citizen says:

Ummm, I replied to your post because it was a response to mine. So, I'm not sure how you can say it was not written for me when it was a direct response.

Is not saying that he had a valid point, in fact, a personal opinion? How does that qualify my assessment as an assumption?

Seriously, I'm not trying to be argumentative. If there is genuine confusion then I genuinely do not understand why. However, I will attempt to chronicle the events that led to my conclusions.

      1. yllluminate expressed concern about a missing post.
      2. a: I located the post and told him where it was and how to find it and other posts.
      2. b. After reading the missing post, which was about Glenn's interview with the CT AG, I expressed my disagreement with the opinion that Glenn had crossed a line and explained why.
      3. You replied to my post with your opinion that you thought yllluminate had a valid point and expressed a belief that, because that point was not in line with the majority it would be dismissed,
      4. I replied back to you that I did not understand why or how my disagreement with the point would somehow invalidate it. I further opined that you appeared to agree that Glenn had crossed a line and then, because I do not speak for the majority, I agreed that it was *possible* that the majority of us did not agree. I then expanded upon why I disagreed with the point.
      5. You then replied to my post which prompted this response.

So, honestly, I don't understand why you feel that my response was unwarranted.

  14. kckshrugged says:

Glenn roasted Blumenthal. Glenn made Blumenthal look incompetent. He hit him with a couple of the principles and values and Blumenthal couldn't even respond. You can tell Glenn means what he says and says what he means and it is clear that Blumenthal is not serving the people he is serving himself.

  15. Zimm says:

I know exactly where your coming from. I have tried to comment several times on this site, while remaining true to the 9/12 principles and values, only to be denied. It seems that if your not in total agreement with the majority here then you are forced to not comment or have to rewrite your original intent, so it loses it's meaning. There was no racist or obscene language used, in case someone might suggest that was the problem and I also am very proficient at using this site, so please don't mention that it's sometimes difficult to find specific posts.. If this is the way it's going to be then there will be definitely be dissension among everyone here. I am tempted to drop out of the 912 project but I know I can't keep quiet on important issues that I want to speak out on, so I will continue to try. I will however, "go it alone", no tea parties or protests for me. If any brother of mine in the South needs help, I will be there for them. I have my Bible, my family, my vote and if all else fails, my gun.

    • HarleyOne8 says:

Zimm, sorry I came in really late on this but don't drop out of the project. This is a totally new direction for the country and all are needed. Arguement/discussion/debate/dialogue are exactly what is needed. Thanks for your opinions.

  16. bobcob says:

GOD BLESS GLENN BECK, YOU AND YOUR SHOW ARE THE BEST!

  17. MAXCONCERN says:

Glenn it is a relief that we have a media spokesman that is not falling for the Obama hype. I cannot believe that so many people did not see the handwriting on the wall during the campaign with all his past assocaitons and upbringing. For someone with no experience in congress or in govt. he has surround himself with a group of people who are very scary indeed. I only hope we can save ourselves from this unerveing road. True americans are the only ones to bring this about with the solid principles and beliefs we were taught as children.

  18. Glenn…thanks for being the voice of the silent majority and for "speaking truth to power" like a man (not like Sean Penn, George Clooney, Matt Damon, etc.). I pray for you and your family…God Bless!

I put together a Tax Cheat (Tim Geithner) parody song (based on "Tax Man") that you may like :)

  19. swtVabreez says:

I find it rather scarey to say the least when an attorney general will campagn for his office,(because that's really what he was doing)by side-stepping the law and to make it worse,he goes on national tv and can't even answer a question on what law gave him the power to go after the ones he did.
Thank God I passed on the kool-aid when it was being passed out,or I was smart enough to read the sign "FREE Liberal kool-aid"….lol

  20. TNRebelgirl says:

Zimm just face it, you're wrong and from the looks of it always will be. Without the bailouts the AIG executive would have still been paid. You're assuming AIG was broke, which it wasn't. Those contracts would have been paid regardless of bailout money or not. As far as my needing to learn history, I'd be willing to bet money I have a better perspective on WWII than you do. I have the advantage of having a mother who was born in Great Britain and actually survived WWII. Trust me when I say I know a lot about that war. Paying out legal and binding contracts doesn't cause Socialism…however, ignoring the law and doing what YOU feel is fair and right is a step in the Socialist directing. I suggest you take a history lesson or two yourself. BTW…I never defended anyone's actions….the AIG executives did nothing but make a legal and binding contract with the company. In your zeal to publically procecute people whom you feel wronged you, you picked out the wrong people to attack. I suggest you move on now. You're not going to change my mind. I believe in the law….you don't. We'll never agree.

  21. Friar_Tuck says:

I actually stood up and cheered in my dorm room watching this on TV. This definitely ranks in Glenn's top shows, the best since he moved to FOX.

  22. Roy_Howell says:

Let’s face the facts people. Human brains are wired differently.

Some think that people who are “smarter” are needed to run the government so that the masses can’t be used or abused; so that “fairness” reigns over the land.

In David Letterman’s interview with Bill O’Reilly, Letterman made a comment about Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly that reveals Letterman’s view of people that believe in conservative values. He said, “I believe you are too smart to believe in what you are saying.”

Do you understand Letterman’s words? Do you see now that Letterman thinks that if you believe in conservative values either you are a fraud or you are just stupid and ignorant? Wow! Why would I ever want to watch or support any person that thinks that about me? What an egotistical elitist!

But please understand; this is the same mindset of the Hollywood left, the social-progressives and liberals in our nation’s Capital making the laws. This is also the same mindset of our current President.

The same is with the Attorney General of Connecticut. He wants to enforce his own law not just the laws approved by state legislation. What an arrogant elitist!

Listen hard enough and the truth will come out. How can you ever win over a liberal when they are convinced they are smarter and therefore should do whatever they can to “control” the dumb and helpless masses who are so in need of someone “smarter” and more “enlightened”?

They are making themselves gods by making themselves the “giver” and overseer of our “freedom” and what they see as “fairness”. Such arrogant fools we have to suffer with.

    • Gregory says:

It was also interesting when Dave told Bill that he wanted Rush to be the leader of the GOP. That's exactly what happened several weeks back with others from the Obama administration. Divide and conquer.

  23. We are NOT a democracy. We are a republic, and thus we should be run by laws and not whims. Should something become law, then we should follow it, but until then…

  24. msjones99 says:

The Gov Appointed CEO of GM was former CEO to Northrup Grumman. Northrop main supplier of Engines and other materials was GE. GE main Issurance backer was non other than AIG. HUmm does this all mean anything.

  25. Imjohngalt says:

And principles mean nothing if you couldn't stick by principles when times are tough and it's easy to abondon them.

  26. JQ_Citizen says:

I tried to give you two thumbs up for this one JG…the software wouldn't let me :(

  27. Imjohngalt says:

Well said, JQ. It was the great moral arbiters of Moderate Philosophy ( whatever the hell that is) are the culpable party in this debacle.

    • JQ_Citizen says:

The Moderate Philosophy is…don't have a philosophy and don't believe in anything substantial. It's all about which way the wind blows.

  28. Imjohngalt says:

Whoa! hold on there! I don't believe any rational anybodies areadvocating " doing nothing". The point was that this was a set-up. I don't believe that somebody in Washington didn't know this reaction to the contracts wouldn't have happened. First, we shouldn't have bailed out anybody to start with. Chapter 11 bankruptcy woul've taken care of the contracts on its own. Second, to do something without a law to protect and justify the act is lawlessness. Are we now to run our lives at the whim of the moral compass of the collective without the guidance of the law? I would contend that if our representatives had listened to us, we'd not even be discussing this mess. The government is using this manufactured tragedy as a pretense to invade our business lives.

  29. JQ_Citizen says:

I would have classified him as more of a skunk in the headlights but….whatever :)

  30. Skeeter J. says:

Well said. You raise some very valid points.

  31. JQ_Citizen says:

I would be more than happy to inform that doctor that you "accept" that money from an untrustworthy government because we, the people, owe a debt to you and all of your brethren that can never be paid. This is simply as close as we can come to paying that debt. That money does not come from the government. It comes from US. The government is simply the means by which the money is administrated.

  32. JQ_Citizen says:

Some people may not have had a chance to see the original interview. I know my girlfriend's mother didn't. I liked the follow-up. I particularly liked the one last night with Rudy.

  33. JQ_Citizen says:

You would think that the people of Connecticut would wake up and realize what is going on with their AG and their "lying weasel".

  34. JQ_Citizen says:

I saw this interview the other day. Glenn was GREAT!!!! The title of the thread is correct. He destroyed that AG. That guy is probably still sitting in that same chair asking himself…."what just happened?"

The follow-up with Rudy was great too. Did you see the expression on his face when Glenn asked him how that guy could possibly have held some of those views? Priceless.

    • Skeeter J. says:

I loved it. I can't understand why more people don't press these public officials. Glenn did a great job. Too often these guys, like the CT AG, are allowed to evade a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer, and just give the answer they want to give, rather than answer the question asked. Glenn exposed this guy and had him like a deer in the headlights.

  35. In the words of Tom Callahan from the movie "Tommy Boy" …that, was, AWESOME!

  36. In the words of Richard from the movie Tommy Boy…that was AWESOME!

  37. asdelhp says:

Glenn, you're my hero. Keep it up. Thanks for the great job you do. Nice to have you on tv again, so I have a news show I can yell with instead of at. :-p

    • Buckley121 says:

The AIG thing made me think of something I saw in "A Man for All Seasons" GREAT MOVIE! Rent it….
These Attorney's General who are going after the AIG bonuses have not articulated what law these execs (who worked for $1 a year) broke! The arguement is it is "taxpayer money" and that it is wrong for "policy reasons" but no law has been broken! When Attorney's General take action outside of enforcing the law they become mere thugs and it isn't just the AIG execs who are harmed. We are all harmed. I mentioned St. Thomas More in "A Man for All Seasons" I won't give away the plot but there is one part that resounds through to today and current events.

      • Buckley121 says:

Although it is the law that eventually forces More's execution, the play also makes several powerful statements in support of the rule of law. At one point More's future son-in-law, Roper, urges him to arrest Richard Rich, whose perjury will eventually lead to More's execution. More answers that Rich has broken no law, "And go he should if he were the Devil himself until he broke the law!" Roper is appalled at the idea of granting the Devil the benefit of law, but More is adamant
"What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil? … And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you – where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws from coast to coast, Man's laws, not God's, and if you cut them down — and you're just the man to do it — do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!"
-St. Thomas More in “A Man for All Seasons”

I could not believe what I was hearing out of the mouth of a public official. He had to be either the most arrogant of bureaucrats or one of the most ill informed, dumb-ass, attorney I have ever heard. How in the hell did this guy get elected…..oh I forgot…He's a 'Dumbocrat'. I too think Glenn did a great job in hacking this guy over the coals. He deserved everybit of it.

  39. miadine says:

Glenn, my hat is off to you sir. THAT was an interview. You are one of the few people in the mainstream media that has the guts to hold people accountable for their actions and decisions. If only others would do the same, we probably would.t be in the mess we currently are.

We need to have more people like Glenn stand up to these clowns who think they are above the law. We are a nation of laws, and our elected officials need to just FOLLOW THE LAW!!
