As countries, in this economic slow down we cannot even take care of ourselves, and we are pledging to help each other? Despite protests from countries that do not want to spend anymore? Just preposterous. I think the protesters and anarchists had the right idea, but unfortunately, they did not argue it very effectively, nor were they really showing anger at the right people.
A Global New Deal is a very bad idea. In the spirit of getting control of the financial system, we must be Protectionists. We should not stop trading with other countries, we just need to follow our own standards and principles.
On a side note to this article, the regulatory board for Accountants, FASB, has moved to relax mark to market accounting. This is more of a long term fix, rather than a short term band aid.
Yeah, isn't it funny how many people voted for "change" by voting for president and completely forgot that they were voting the same morons back into Congress?
I agree, the whole Bush blame game is kinda old, now. Let's start getting mad at the people who are actually in power. You know, those guys and gals who are trying so very hard to chip away at the Constitution, the most important document next to the Bible, imho.

Ride 'em all out on a rail! Seriously, I think pressure on ALL congressmen, regardless whether they represent you or not, will be our first step. I think the march on Washington on July 4th should be the deadline for expecting results from that. If that fails, and it may, then pressure your governor to look into States' Rights and rejecting the stimulus bill and the presumption of the federal government that it can dictate to us. Government is there to protect us and when the feds fail then we turn to the state to protect us from the fed. When that fails then, gentlemen, get out your guns because it's Par-tea time! The people WILL be free! BTW, watch the video on this site describing the difference between democracy and a republic. It's very well done! And Chuckie, and any others lurking on our site, please think about what you're doing to this country. You can't really want the country to fail…really. It's one of the last places on earth where you can still speak your mind and associate freely. When you take that away from us you will lose it, too. This is not some game to get attention. And if you really believe Obama that most of the American people will not have to pay taxes then, sir, we've wasted our tax dollars on your public education. You are among the most naive and ignorant and I feel sorry for you for you know not what you're doing. But we will not feel sorry for long because we will fight for our rights and liberty as long as there's one soldier or one old marine left to fight.
A global currency is not inevitable it's being manipulated so that the American public thinks we have no choice but to go global. Shipping the jobs overseas, selling our technology to foreign countries is all part of the plan. Ask yourself, who benefits? It's the people controlling the money now. Not the government, the Federal Reserve which has the US Gov't in its pocket. The same big money that owns these companies controls Wall Street and is moving business out.
They dictate inflation and deflation thereby creating recession, to drive prices back up (with labor costs low) when we start to recover.

plays in this and you will begin to understand. For the record the Federal Reserve is no more Federal than Federal Express, yet they have been manipulating Wall Street and the US Treasury for decades.
It seems everyone on here would rather fling insults and whine than find constructive solutions to the problems we all are facing. I recommend inviting a few friends, family, or neighbors over, pop open the beer, and have fun. Take time to enjoy yourselves and quit letting these liberals annoy you. Certainly you have better things to do than indulge an obviously lonely kid who has nothing better to do than push your buttons. He's like a bully and you're playing his game, dancing on his string for him. Go have a beer and chill! We have bigger things to do than indulge these children who are only looking for attention.

So, let's control and punish them, too. Here's a crazy idea: We can control how much energy they use and punish them for using too much! We can even give them rewards for doing what we say.
We're still in deep contemplation over our mis-spent money thus far…
We have thrown TRILLIONS @ failed businesses and if we need funding for emergency food, oil, or fighting supplies, not to mention a famine, deluge or terrorist attack then what are we going to use for bail out then, thin air??
No fooling, we have frittered away real social and moral cash and we now own a super defecit with not so many good prospects for props…
What to do??
All that comes to mind is to keep improving self, family, work, church, and hope the vast majority receives the same message…
Maybe that's it, we already have the answer… Americans have ALWAYS risen to the occasion when really pressed and we don't think that has been beaten out of us, no matter how much social tinkering and novocaine…

This one is "fuel for more argument".
Freedom: I really think some of these people are plants to get us distracted and angry. They pick something that is not even part of your central argument and get you to argue about something you weren't even arguing. That is so you won't be able to develop your point. Just make them produce facts. I tried it a couple of times and all they do is tell you to look it up. No sources. I criticized one and predicted to another blogger that the guy would criticize my criticism of his criticism. Imagine that. Then I showed the troll the post where I predicted his behavior. I said that all they do is try to get you to chase your tail. The troll's response to that was anger: He replied back… Oh, I guess you are just too clever for me! and…. You better watch your tail. I reported him and he he disappeared…. or maybe reappeared…. I was tracking him and he did not morph into another username as the software works. They dusted him off the list for a threatening comment.
The best policy is not to engage. This guy kept coming after me wherever I showed up so I had to get rid of him.
Except for that "One" time when he off handed the "I'm gonna crash the energy markets and put out coal…"
